[A/N] I felt like posting this chapter early so here we are!

"That's... really big." Were Yuuma's first thoughts as he stood in front of his classroom door. 1-A was plastered proudly down the middle of the entrance. He was really there, adorning the school uniform. Grey and green blazer over a white undershirt buttoned all the way to the top. They had a choice about whether they wore the tie or not, so Yuuma chose to do without it. He wore well fitting dark green pants with white sneakers. It didn't matter that even though the clothes felt like they fit just fine that they looked a little big on him.

He was much too focused on mustering up the courage to walk through the giant door.

He was really doing it, he was at a hero school! He was going to learn to be a hero! But he was nervous. Were the people on the other side nice? Would he be able to talk to them? Yuuma really wished he brought Pickles II with him. Maybe he'd see Katsuki and Izuku around? What would their teacher be like?

Yuuma took a breath to calm his thoughts. After last night's strangeness he had himself a cup of delicious vanilla milk and slept together with his favorite and most sure fire way of comfort, Ritsu. Every time he was restless, he and Ritsu would hold hands, and that would make everything better.

Ritsu made everything better.

Today was the first day, he wanted to make a good impression. That, and he could barely get back to sleep because he was so excited about today. He walks in to the room, and spots students already there. There was a boy in the back of the class with red and white hair, and a very pretty girl with spiky black hair a few desks over from him. In another desk there was an avian teen with the head of a black bird, and the straight-laced boy from before the exam. There's a boy with a black lightning bolt in his blonde hair. There was another boy with strange elbows and a pink girl with yellow horns. There was another girl that oddly made him think of Pickles and Pickles II. He hoped she was nice. There was a really tiny person with strange purple hair and this weird... unnerving look on his face.

Yuuma for some reason wanted to stay as far away as possible from that person.

There was a really tall boy in the front of the class that had a lot of arms and a mask over his mouth, and beside him was another boy who had a tail. On the other side of him was... floating clothes? No, not floating clothes. It was an invisible girl. If he looked at her using his psychic sense would he be able to see her? Looking across the room once again he comes across a very quiet boy with an odd shaped head. Is he shy too? Maybe they could be friends? Just in front of him was a red head with sharp teeth that seemed really friendly too. Coming back to the front where he currently was, he spotted a boy that seemed to be... sparkling? Twinkling? He didn't know which once it was, but he was very shiny.

But of all of these people, Yuuma finds a familiar face. "Katsuki-nii is in my class!" He whispered to himself. Seeing a familiar face lessened his first day, new people nervous jitters.

"Don't put your feet on the desk!" He was having a conversation with the dark blue haired boy from the exam.

"Huh?" He answered, an amused smirk on his face.

"Don't you think that's rude to the Yuuei upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?" The glasses wearing teen inquired.

"Nope." Katsuki said with his usual delinquent gusto. "What junior high did you go to, you side character?"

"Katsuki-nii, it's not nice to call people "side characters". No one will want to be your friend if they think you're calling them bad names." Yuuma spoke up, the older boys finally noticing that he was there. Katsuki let his condescending grin become a little more genuine before catching himself. "I'll call 'em whatever I want, Bowl-cut!"

Yuuma shook his head, Katsuki was being Katsuki. "Um. Hi. I'm Yuuma Kageyama. It's nice to meet you... um..."

"Tenya Iida. You were the one who corrected me during the exam preview, correct? I must thank you for correcting my error!"

"No need." Yuuma shook his head, looking up to the glasses wearing teen. "I'm glad you passed."

"And I to you, Kageyama-kun." He turned to face Katsuki once again. "And to answer your question, I attended Somei Private Academy."

"Somei? So you're a damn elite, huh? Looks like I'll have fun crushing you."

"Crushing? That's cruel. Do you truly aim to be a hero?"

That was when Yuuma saw fit to step in before Katsuki ruined another possible friendship.

"Don't mind him, I can assure you he plans to be a hero. His name is Katsuki Bakugou." Katsuki gave Yuuma a glare, to which Yuuma did not notice or just didn't care as he continued. "We went to school together. It's nice to officially meet you, Iida-san."

"Likewise, Kageyama-kun!" Iida already liked this classmate. He hoped to be good friends.

The door slides open once again, Yuuma catching a glimpse at yet another welcome sight. "Izuku-nii!"

"Hey, Y-Yuuma-chan." Izuku greets, obviously uncomfortable as everyone was now staring at him standing in the door. That, and he spots who Yuuma was just talking to. For some reason after all of them got the news they were getting into the same school, Katsuki was less than please. Yuuma had left earlier that day, so he didn't know what had happened between them that made their relationship deteriorate even further than it already was.

...Did they get into a fight? Again? While he wasn't there? Was it over something stupid? Again? One had pride, and the other had a secret. One was arrogant, and the other had no self of steam. Both were his friends, but neither could level with each other.

And they both felt the need to hide this from Yuuma, who never liked it when they fought. They were tolerating each other only in his presence, but as soon as he left, they were back to square one once again.

Yuuma felt something in the back of his mind get tugged at, something from within the pandora's box of emotions. He didn't like it. He didn't want this. He'd been trying everything to get them to get along, but apparently, that just fell on deaf ears, huh?

He found this revelation... quite unpleasant.

17%

Yuuma let a sigh escape him. He wanted them to just be friends. They were friends with him, right? So why couldn't they be friends?

"Tsk." Katuski scoffed, and since Yuuma was still using his psychic sense to read Izuku's weird energy he could tell that Katsuki was genuinely ticked off by Izuku. Now Yuuma really wanted to know what was going on. The moment Katsuki saw Izuku come into the room his energy spike, meaning anger. Izuku's was slightly in flux, meaning anxiousness or fear.

But why? What had happened? Why was it that those two could never just get along? Maybe they'd feel better if they ate vanilla ice-cream? Vanilla ice-cream always made Yuuma feel better, that, and hugs. Maybe he should give them hugs?

No... as much as that helped him, it apparently did nothing for those two. All of his efforts were in vain. So he made his way to Izuku to attempt talking to him.

"Izuku-nii? Are you nervous?" Yuuma said with all seriousness, catching the greenette off guard. "I-I'm okay, Yuuma-chan."

Another lie.

20%

"Are you sure? I'm nervous too... but at least we're in the same class!" Yuuma beamed at him. "I'm glad there are people I know in here, that will make being brave a little easier." He looked down, playing with his fingers as he now knew that the class was very much staring at them standing in the door talking. He felt his nerves flare up, but put on his bravest face even as his ears began to burn from the attention. "Yeah, I'll be brave."

'That was cute!' Some of the girls were gushing at the display.

'That innocence... chicks will love him. I can see it now... If I stick around him, I could have my own harem!'

For some reason Yuuma felt a chill run up his spine. Why did he feel the sudden urge to telekinesis the purple grape midget into the sun? Should he go through with it? His aunt said to always trust his gut and his gut is screaming "Yeet him into oblivion for the safety of your peers."

It felt like even the author was giving him the okay.

[A/N] Yes, I am. He doesn't deserve to exist. You know what? Yep, come here you disgusting waste of brain space. *proceeds to toss the purple midget pile of horse sh*t into outer space so he can ruin someone else's universe.* PAUSES MID YEET. I can't just get rid of him... he needs to suffer. There are things that he is actually needed for in the story plot. D*mnit. I'll kill him another day. *Continues to write while glaring down at the one currently on the TO DIE list.

He sees Iida coming over to greet Izuku. "Good Morning! I am from Somei Private Academy. My name is—"

"—I heard!" Realizing he cut him off, Izuku tries to get his bearings. "Um... I'm Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you, Iida-kun."

There was a brief pause before Iida began again. "Midoriya-kun, you realized there was something more to that practical exam, didn't you?"

"Huh?"

"I had no idea... I misjudged you! I hate to admit it, but you are better than me."

'Sorry, I actually didn't realize anything.' Izuku sweat dropped.

"Are you talking about the Rescue Points, Iida-san?" Yuuma asked, to which Lida nodded. Izuku looked towards the younger boy as well. Yuuma had actually figured out the Rescue Points? He never took into account how observant Yuuma was and how he analyzed situations down to the last letter when given enough time.

Why hadn't he noticed it before even though Yuuma had never hidden it?

"It was more common sense than anything, I think." Yuuma said, surprising everyone that could hear him. "A hero saves people, right? It's natural." Now that they thought about it, those two terms went hand and hand together that yeah, it actually was common sense.

The people that looked over examinees because they wanted more points felt a sudden Stab.

A hero isn't someone that just beats the enemy, they are someone that protects the people too.

'Why didn't we think about that?' Stab. Stab.

"Oh, that curly hair! You're the plain-looking one!" A girl with bob-style brown hair and a bubbly personality entered the conversation. "You passed, just like Present Mic said! Of course you did! Your punch was amazing!" She started to mimic what Yuuma had to guess was Izuku's 'punch'... Wait.

Punch?

Izuku punched something? And that 'punch' must have hurt him somehow for him to end up with Recovery Girl. The gears in Yuuma's head began to turn. No matter how he looked at it, he didn't like the conclusions he came to. He'd have to wait and see for himself, he didn't want to pressure Izuku into telling him anything he wasn't ready to.

Katsuki was eyeing them quietly, a scowl growing on his face. But he remained silent. The gears in his head were also turning. Something was up, he knew it. And by the look on Yuuma's face who was still thinking, Yuuma knew it too. Izuku was hiding something.

Yuuma snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed a giant yellow sleeping bag on the floor with a familiar head of shaggy black hair. They both shared a look as he was the only one to notice him there. A small smile crept on his face. "Why are you in a sleeping bag in the hallway?"

"You're blocking the door, so I decided to sleep."

"Did you have a few good minutes of rest then?"

"Nope. Too noisy."

Everyone promptly stopped all of their conversations, turning slowly to see a creature on the floor just beyond their door. "Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." Came a voice, very monotone and tired. "This is the hero course." He took out a juice packet, sucking out all of it's contents.

'S-something's here?!' The three in the door exclaimed mentally. Yuuma on the other hand was actually happy to see the tired looking man as he got out of his sleeping bag with practiced ease. "It took you eight seconds to shut up. Time is limited. You kids aren't rational enough."

There he was in all of his worn-out glory. "I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you."

"Eh?!" Came the shocked response. The only one that seemed to be glad was Yuuma. 'Uncle Zawa is going to be my teacher?! Wait until Ritsu hears about this!'

"It's kind of sudden, but put on this and go out onto the field." He held up the Yuuei gym uniform. A navy blue two piece uniform with 'U' in what going over the chest and shoulders and 'A' going from the the top of the stomach and extending down the pants. The semi-short sleeves also sported a white and red design on the outer side. They were very breathable.

"A QUIRK ASSESSMENT TEST?!"

"Why are you guys so surprised by this? It makes no sense for us to be in a hero course and not test the limits of our quirks which will be used in the field. That's irrational." Yuuma said to himself, but everyone heard him, and it felt a sharp Stab pierce through them. This kid... was really blunt. Wasn't he.

"The ministry of education is procrastinating. Performing physical fitness test such as these without the use of quirks in a super powered society isn't rational. There will be eight tests in total. Kageyama, you scored highest in the practical, did you not?" Aizawa said, catching the attention of everyone standing on the field.

"Yes." He said matter-of-factly, catching everyone off guard. Everyone could tell at a glance that Yuuma was younger than they were. He was cute and small and shy and sweet. It was no secret to the class that they'd be having an accelerated student in their course that year. He looked like he wouldn't and couldn't hurt a single fly and yet if what Aizawa was saying was true, that meant he'd bested all of them in the exam by leaps and bounds.

"How far was your ball toss in middle school?"

"Um... 38 meters I think?" Yuuma wasn't quite sure, but he knew it wasn't all that far. Aizawa tossed him a ball with a device built into it which was connected to the device in his hand. It was most likely used to receive the results. "Throw it using your quirk. I don't care what you do as long as you don't leave the circle." He said it in a monotone, but Yuuma could tell by peeking at his energy that he was bursting with hidden anticipation. Did he want to see the results of his quirk training?

As if knowing exactly what Yuuma was thinking, Aizawa nodded. The boy's smile grew. "Okay!" Yuuma was more than happy to share the results of his hard work.

Everyone watched in shocked awe as Yuuma's hair began to float and wave in the air suddenly. His eye brows furrowed as he concentrated. He tossed the ball up, but it suddenly stopped, catching everyone's attention. "First I'll wrap the ball in my energy..." Yuuma reached his hand out, the ball following the command. He wound back, "Build it up and then..." The light around the ball began to grow a bit brighter, "Let it fly!" Suddenly Yuuma threw his hand forward, sending the ball rocketing in front of him. Yuuma kept his eyes closed, concentrating on the ball that had then left his sight using his remote viewing. He kept his hold on the ball as much as he could until it had gone outside his range, and then let it keep going because of it's own momentum.

It took a few moments for Aizawa's phone-like device to go off. "800.3 meters!"

"Yes!" Yuuma exclaimed, looking to Aizawa to which he received his silent nod of approval. That was Silent Aizawa for "Good Job." It made tiny little blushes dust his cheeks in happiness. Aizawa looked away, trying not to go blind from the brightness. He was way too tired for that.

"Know your own maximum first. That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero." He lifts the phone up to show the other students the score, to which he received shocked gasps as a response.

"800 meters?! That's insane!" The blondie with the lightning bolt commented.

"So Manly..." The spikey red-head murmured.

"What's this? It looks fun!" The pink girl exclaimed. Causing Yuuma's eyes to widen.

Did she just say the word "fun"... in front of Uncle Zawa?

Oh no.

"We get to use our quirks as much as we want! As expected of the hero course!" Said the one with the weird elbows, but Yuuma was too busy contemplating life at the moment. Things that can go wrong, will go wrong, and they just went wrong.

Aizawa went quiet.

Oh no.

Yuuma was praying that he didn't just hear those words. Uncle Zawa isn't one for fun and games when it came to showing potential. And his personality is like a beta version of Aunt Airi's, which is why they get along so well especially when they're working together. Please say he didn't hear. Say sike. Right now.

"'It looks fun' huh? You've got three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time?"

...They're doomed. Rest in peace, Class 1-A.

The mood was effectively twisted and Yuuma knew that look on Uncle Zawa's face way too well to not know what was about to happen. That grin... those eyes... the dark glee on his face that lined his usually worn features. Yuuma knew that look. He'd went with Aunt Airi a few times with Ritsu when their grandma was busy with her medical work. Whenever they were slacking off, whenever they thought nothing bad was gonna happen...

Aunt Airi appeared before them with that same look on her face, only more sadistic as she was dealing with fully grown men and women.

It screamed 'Your suffering shall bring me great joy.'

"All right." He began, a little more energy than normal in his monotone. "Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion." He ended, his smile growing further.

"Huh?!" The only one not surprised was Yuuma. His Aunt did the same thing to her charges on the force. If they didn't take their job and her initiation tests seriously, they were in for a world of torment. Yep. Yuuma called it. Aizawa was to Class 1-A as Lt. Kageyama was to her unit. With Aizawa as their homeroom teacher, everything will be hell difficult from then on out.

But why did they think this would be fun and games in the first place? Did they not know what a hero has to put up with? The dangers? Did they apply for this school to be heroes because heroes were popular and got to use their powers? If so, then Yuuma hoped this would change that mindset. He was sure Uncle Zawa thought the same.

The look of dread and determination began to bloom in the students. Subtle levels of panic began to rise. Aizawa was reveling in it all. "We're free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students." He lifted his hair out of his face so that the students had a full view of the sadistic grin adorning it. "Welcome to Yuuei's hero course!"

Yuuma peered over to look at his classmates. Some were grinning (Katsuki), some were determined, and others looked down right terrified (Izuku). The girl that Izuku had been talking to before spoke up. "Last place will be expelled? It's only the first day of school. No, even if it wasn't that's too unfair!"

"Unfairness is everywhere." Yuuma spoke up before Aizawa did, catching the older man's attention as well as the class. The kind and welcoming tone in his small voice was gone, and a darkness overshadowed his face as his hair covered his eyes. He clenched and unclenched his palms. In. Out. "This world is cruel, and bad things happen. And they won't stop happening just because it's unfair."

24%

Aizawa took it from there, knowing all too well how close to home the subject was for Yuuma. "Natural disasters, big accidents, and selfish villains. Japan is indeed covered in unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations." Yuuma made his way back to the class, Aizawa patting him briefly on the shoulder as he passed him. Aizawa's version of reassurance.

Yuuma did indeed feel a bit better because of it. It was small gestures like this which cause Yuuma to come to like Aizawa, and this dubbing him 'Uncle Zawa.' He wasn't as open with his affection as his aunt was, but he did show it in subtle ways just like now. That, and he was the one who always gifted them with cat themed stuffed animals on Christmas and their birthdays when they were small.

Ritsu still slept with his giant black cat stuffy, and he vehemently refused to admit that the white scarfs and yellow goggles he outfitted it with were so it resembled a certain someone. Ritsu would never admit it. Ever. It was just a coincidence.

Aizawa continued, "If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school, too bad. For the next three years, Yuuei will do all it can to give you one hardship after another. "Go Beyond. Plus Ultra."

'FIGHT. ON.' was going on repeat in Yuuma's head for some reason, overlapping with Plus Ultra.

His smile was a little less sadistic and more genuine this time as he goaded his students with his finger, telling them to come on. "Overcome it with all you've got." This got their determination flaring, which was the result he wanted. "Alright, demonstration's over. The real thing starts now."

[A/N] I'm not going to go into great detail, but I shall do my best.

The test began with the 50 meter dash. Yuuma took note of Iida's impressive engine legs as he sped across the finish. He was followed by the frog girl who Yuuma found very friendly. He liked frogs, they'd been his favorite animal since he was young. He wanted to be friends with her, she seemed very cool.

The next set of runners were the sparkling boy and the pink girl. She was skating on acid? That was unique. The boy had a laser coming from his stomach, it seemed strong, but didn't last very long. And it looked like it caused him distress. Maybe Yuuma could help him feel better when the tests were over if he still seemed uncomfortable.

Next up was the pretty girl with the spiky black hair and the dual haired boy. She... made a bike. A whole bike! How did she do that? But the test was won by the dual haired kid who skated on ice. ICE! Maybe he could ask him if he wanted to make ice cream? Homemade ice-cream is very good.

The rest of the testers aren't as flashy as others were, save for the avian boy with the shadowy creature coming from him. Yuuma's own wasn't all that flashy either. He just flew across as fast as he could, earning a solid 4 seconds.

And then it was Izuku and Katsuki's turn. Of course Katsuki just blasted his way across using both of his hands. But Izuku... didn't do anything different. He just ran, earning an average, normal score. Yuuma was concerned, but he started to connecting the dots thanks to what he'd heard before, and what he'd figured out the day of the exam.

[A/N] Yuuma: Detective Mode, Activate!

Izuku must of hurt himself. Whether it was from whatever he 'punched' or the quirk itself Yuuma wasn't sure, but he knew it was connected somehow. From what Yuuma could gather, this power Izuku had gained was indeed not his own. Yuuma had been paying him much more attention after he discovered the energy within Izuku's body.

Like for real, Yuuma never took his eyes off him after the entrance exam unless he was physically not there. At school, when they would walk together, hanging out, it would be weird for Izuku to have not noticed the 4'2 child staring daggers into him whenever they were together. He never broke eye contact, even when Izuku was looking right at him. The energy was just that concerning to him.

But it looked like it was trying to adjust, which was another strange thing. But the bottom line was that this quirk was new, which meant that his body wasn't used to it. Quirks usually appear between the ages of 4 and 7, and to get his so late could mean that... There was a moment of pause before Yuuma's eyes widened in realization.

Izuku couldn't control it.

27%

Worry etched itself into the younger boy. What if he hurt himself again? How bad had he hurt himself before? Yuuma was unconscious when Recovery Girl healed him, so he wasn't sure. Did it give him bruises? Did give him headaches like Yuuma's did when he overused his? No, that's not enough for Izuku to be so worried about using it.

Like he was right now.

Izuku was hiding something from him again, and Yuuma felt like he'd find out what very soon as these test went on what exactly that was.

The rest of the testing went on and now they were on the grip strength test. Yuuma put as much energy as he could into his hand and squeezed as hard as he could, earning himself an okay score of 80 kg. It wasn't as impressive as the tall boy who gave off a very kind energy, as he used his multiple arms to grip the device giving him an amazing score of 540 kg.

"You're so strong! And so tall!" Yuuma gushed at the dupli-arm boy, who he came to know as Mezo Shoji. His energy was very kind and strong. "I'm Yuuma! It's nice to meet you!" Yuuma said, surprising himself that he didn't feel as nervous around the boy. Despite being a giant, Yuuma was sure that Shoji was one of the kindest people he'd met to date.

"Likewise." Shoji said. They were joined by the tape guy, Hanta Sero, and the grape dude.

"540 kg?! What are you a gorilla? Or maybe an octopus?"

"Octopuses are sexy." The grape commented.

"What do you mean by 'sexy'?"

"Oh?" The grape grinned, more than happy to explain why he'd said that. "Well there are a lot of reasons, to start there's HRPM—?!" Sero used his quirk to put tape over his mouth while Shoji used his leftover arms to cover Yuuma's innocent ears while a certain teacher glared daggers into the grape.

"Shoji-san? Sero-san? How come you did that to Grape-san?"

They both held in a giggle before answering him. "It's nothing, Kageyama-kun. Don't worry about it." This however left Yuuma even more confused, but eventually he just shrugged it off and went on to sing Shoji's praises about how strong he is and how cool Sero's tape was.

'His innocence must be protected.' They both thought in unison. Yuuma however, was none the wiser. He was just happy he made some friends.

The next test was the standing long jump. This one was very easy. Yuuma just flew over the sand pit. The same could be said for those who had ranged quirks like the sparkling boy and Katsuki. The only one who got a score that was within means were those who didn't have such quirks, like the invisible girl and once again, Izuku, who got a less than ideal score once again.

Yuuma was worried. Izuku hadn't made his mark in anything yet. Uncle Zawa wasn't one for charity cases, Izuku had to show him that he had the potential to be a hero or he was going to get expelled! "Come on, Izuku-nii..." To say Yuuma was worried was an understatement.

32%

The next test was repeated side steps. Yuuma used Boost on his legs, giving him a score he was satisfied with. The purple haired kid, Grape-san, took the balls off of his head and stuck them together on either side of them, and proceeded to bounce off of them at insane speed. It was... impressive.

Or disturbing. There was this look on his face that made Yuuma very uncomfortable around him, and his energy seemed... strange.

Katsuki used smaller blasts to push himself to either side repeatedly, chanting his slogan with a murderous look on his face. "DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE—"

"...'Die'?" Izuku repeated, not sure how to interpret that.

"Die?" Yuuma repeated a bit confused. He wasn't sure why Katsuki was always saying that. Should he start saying it? Is it like 'Fight On'? Katsuki always says it when he uses his quirk, daily conversation, and et cetera. Maybe he should try saying it, maybe he'll be cool like Katsuki-nii?

After that was the ball throw. This was the most anticipated test after Yuuma's amazing display. Katsuki was the first to go up, adding a big explosion to the pitch. "DIE!"

"...'Die'?" Once again, Izuku was stunned.

"Die!" Yuuma repeated, a lot more light than Katsuki's. His voice hadn't reached maturity yet, so it was still a bit squeaky which made the term come out way cuter than it should've been. That however did not stop the others turning to him in shock.

'He's being corrupted! No!'

"Yuuma-chan, I... don't think that catchphrase suits you. Kacchan is... well... Kacchan." Izuku said, sweat-dropping a little.

"Really? Okay then."

'Corruption averted!' They all thought, sighing in relief. All... except one.

'WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM BEING MORE LIKE ME?! I'M FUCKING AMAZING!' Thought an angry Pomeranian who they thought didn't hear them. "IT SUITS HIM JUST FINE YOU JERKS! YUUMA, SAY DIE!"

"Die!" Yuuma complied, earning himself a satisfied Pomeranian.

'Kacchan has corrupted Yuuma!'

The Pomeranian approved, a smug grin on his face.

The ball landed and Katsuki got an amazing score of 705 meters. Not as much as Yuuma's but still great. He let a curse slip by him that he wasn't able to beat his score, Yuuma had proven to be very formidable over the course of these tests. There were of course test that the explosion user was better at than him, but that didn't mean Yuuma's scores went unnoticed.

Yuuma was strong. But he wasn't something he had to worry about. He didn't even need to think of Yuuma at the moment. He was just, well, Yuuma.

And then there was Deku. How did he even pass the exam without a quirk? Something was up, and the way Yuuma was looking at him the entirety of the assessment test proved that Yuuma had noticed it to. Kid had been staring at him almost without blinking since the entrance exams! He wasn't even being subtle about it either, full on staring, even when Deku was looking directly at him.

He did not stop staring, one could almost see him in a detective outfit with a damn magnifying glass in his hands looking at a crime scene (which was Deku). Maybe he should ask him if he knew what was going on with that insufferable nerd? Katsuki knew that if he asked Yuuma would tell him, especially if it was something that was worrying him like it seemed to be right now.

No. He didn't need to ask the brat, there was no need. He'd figure it out on his own.

What was that Deku up to?

Meanwhile, Detective Kageyama had taken a break from the Izuku case, watching the other students. The brown haired girl got the most amazing score, using her gravity based quirk to literally send the ball into space. SPACE. Yuuma was shocked. Could he have done that? No, his range was very limited. Maybe one day he'd be strong enough to do that?

After everyone else went, it was finally Izuku's turn.

"It doesn't look good for Midoriya if he continues like this." Stated Iida, who was now standing off to the side with the infinity girl, the sparkling boy, Katsuki, and Yuuma.

"Huh?" His statement confused Katsuki, who thought the result was obvious. "Of course not. He's a Quirkless small fry, you know." He stated, pointing to the boy in question who was having his own crisis.

"Quirkless?! Are you not aware of what he did in the entrance exam?"

"Katsuki-nii... I don't think that's true anymore."

"Huh?" Katsuki looked at Yuuma with wide eyes, but the younger boy's gaze was trained on the greenette, his eyes glowing an eerie blue hue as he was focusing on his psychic sight. He was reading Deku's energy, and was more focused on it than Katsuki had ever seen before. This wasn't the first time his eyes would give off that small glow, but this was the most intense he'd ever seen it.

Yuuma was looking for something, something specific. He was looking for what had changed with Izuku since the time of the exam. Katsuki was right, the kid did know something was up, and by the looks of wasn't happy about it either.

The kid seemed worried.

What did that dumb Deku do to make this kid this worried for him?! He'd half a mind to kill him right then and there!

Meanwhile, Aizawa was looking towards Izuku patiently. He'd seen the video, and he knew the backlash this kid's quirk had on him. If he was going to do that to himself every time he used his quirk, then there was no way he'd become a hero. No potential. Aizawa saw no potential in this child as of that moment.

Yuuma's eyes widened as Izuku readied himself to throw the ball. His energy had spiked and flared in his entire arm. It was overbearing and uncontrolled, violent even. If Izuku used that then it would break his entire arm at least! "Izuku-nii!"

But then the energy disappeared, and Yuuma turned to face his honorary Uncle with knowing eyes as Izuku threw the ball which landed a measly 46 meters. The devastation on Izuku's face was obvious.

"I was definitely trying to use it just now..."

"I erased your quirk." Stated Aizawa, who was standing menacingly before Izuku with his capture weapon circling him at the ready. His hair was floating, waving through the air as his eyes glowed red. In all honesty, it looked a bit similar to how Yuuma was when all those months ago against the sludge villain. "That entrance exam was definitely not rational enough. Even a kid like you was accepted."

Yuuma couldn't help but be thankful that Uncle Zawa stopped him in time. If he'd of continued to use that power, it was more than likely that he would have obliterated every bone in his arm.

"Oi, brat. What just happened?" Katsuki asked, a bit confused by the situation. Yuuma, also shocked, told him what he could.

"Aizawa erased the quirk that Izuku-nii was going to use." He stated, shocking the explosion user further. Deku had a quirk? Yuuma knew Deku had a quirk? Had he been lied to his entire life by both of them?! Yuuma proceeded to answer one of his questions for him. "Something happened before the exam... I'm not sure, but that's when I noticed Izuku-nii was... different. He didn't tell me much, and from your conversation with Iida-san, he didn't tell you either, did he." It was a statement which did not hide the younger boy's concern at all.

So both of them hadn't known. Katsuki could make a guess and say that if Yuuma didn't have that weird 'seeing energy' shit then Deku wouldn't have even mentioned it to him. Yuuma probably brought it up first, and Deku, being the mess that he is, either tried to lie or told him something that didn't give him any information.

Which would explain why Yuuma had been investigating the annoying Deku ever since.

Katsuki was pissed, but still hadn't seen it with his own eyes. He didn't want to believe it, but Yuuma never lied. Ever. He kept things to himself, sure, but he made his feelings and thoughts known so the things he didn't say were made understandable.

Like the incident that happened before they met again.

He doesn't talk about it, and gave no details about it. But they knew something happened, and that it made the kid upset whenever something related to it came up. And it wasn't like he didn't try to tell him about that either, it was just too hard for him to.

Which was why there was a silent agreement to never bring it up.

That's how Katsuki learned Yuuma was honest, even when it was hard to be honest. He hadn't been with the kid as long as he had known Deku, but Katsuki knew Yuuma. Which was why this was a blow to him because he thought he knew Deku even more so.

Worthless, Quirkless Deku. A pebble in the road. Someone who hadn't trained at all until recently, and now suddenly and out of nowhere had a quirk?

Katsuki called bullshit. Something was up.

"You erased my quirk? Hu-OH! Those goggles... I see! You can erase other peoples quirks with your quirk just by looking at them. The Erasure Hero: Eraser Head!" Izuku exclaimed with realization coating his voice.

"Eraser? I don't know him." One of the students said.

"I have. He's an underground hero." Another whispered.

Yeah, Uncle Zawa doesn't like media attention because it gets in the way of his work. Aunt Airi is the same, which is one of the reasons they get along so well. Although, Aunt Airi did work with a few more well known heroes, but Yuuma wasn't sure who, and she made sure to keep her work life and her home life separate unless it was stories of her training torturing her unit.

"From what I can tell, you can't control your quirk, can you?"

By Izuku's reaction, he hit the nail on the head.

"Do you intend to become incapacitated again and have someone save you?"

'Incapacitated...' Yuuma thought silently. 'Again?'

"Th-that's not my intention—" He was cut off by Eraserhead's capture weapon wrapping itself around him, dragging him forward until he stood directly in front of the underground hero. "Whatever your intention, I'm saying that's what those around you will be forced to do."

Izuku realized what he was saying was right. If he broke his limbs again he'd end up being the one needing to be saved, not the other way around. "In the past, there was an oppressively passionate hero who saved over a thousand people by himself and created a legend. Even if you have the same reckless valor, you'll just be decked and turned into a useless doll after saving one person."

Dread sank in for Yuuma. Uncle Zawa was laying it on very thick of his dislike for Izuku and his reckless selflessness. All of the points he was making were true though. If what Yuuma was thinking was right, that power hurt him when he used it.

And Izuku was keeping that from him, from everyone.

Yuuma had a sinking feeling that if he couldn't see energy, he wouldn't have been told anything. This revelation was... very unpleasant. It was because that could only mean one thing to him.

Even though Yuuma supported Izuku, Izuku didn't trust him. Would he of had to find out when he was too hurt to move? Would he of only found out when something horrible happened and Izuku had no choice but to tell him?

Yeah... Izuku-nii... would have never told him.

Why did that make him sad? He shouldn't be, people have secrets. It was normal to have secrets. So why did it make him feel bad? To Izuku, he was just Yuuma-chan, huh? And it's the same with Katsuki. They acted differently, but it was still that same. Is that why?

Yuuma wasn't someone they'd known for all of their lives. Yuuma wasn't someone who they saw on the same level or higher. He was just Yuuma, the boy who just so happened to want to be a hero too. He was just the 11 year old little boy in the group who just happened to be smart and have a versatile quirk.

He wasn't someone to think of as an obstacle. He wasn't someone you could tell something important. He was the one who needed to be worried about. He was Yuuma-chan to them no matter how they respected him.

Yuuma-chan. Just Yuuma-chan.

His aunt's saying, the one she repeated every day of their training, echoed in his mind. 'If they stand beside you, be the pillar they can lean on'. That means that no matter what, you need to be someone that they have respect for on an equal level to them. Someone that the people around you can trust to have their back.'

Izuku and Katsuki have never gotten along. They fight when he's not around, and they keep things from him. Yuuma... didn't know how to handle that information. So, he put it to the back of his mind for another time. Now wasn't the time to dwell on revelations about your friends not trusting you. Was it because he was younger?

Why did this feel... unpleasant. This realization wasn't something he wanted.

Yuuma never wanted to be seen as an obstacle for his friends to overcome, he wanted to help them with their problems and support them. But... maybe that was wrong. Maybe he was wrong to think that way.

Maybe that wasn't what they needed.

"Izuku Midoriya. With your power, you can't become a hero." The words sank in painfully as Aizawa's capture weapon released Izuku and his eyes and hair returned to normal. "I've returned your quirk. You have two more turns for the ball throw. Hurry up and get it over with." With that he left back to where he was standing before, Izuku starting up a murmur storm of his racing thoughts.

"It looks like he received some advice." Iida said, a hand on his chin as he wonders what was said. Yuuma could hear because he was straining his ears to. It was a skill in which his aunt had him practice in daily during their training. Use all of his five senses to his advantage. Putting a little energy towards his ears, he was able to increase their performance enough to hear what was said.

"Probably just telling him he's expelled." Katsuki immediately responded.

"Katsuki-nii." Yuuma said sternly, the older boy 'tsk'-ing in response. The unpleasant feelings returned, and Yuuma squashed them again. Katsuki wasn't taking him seriously. Had he ever? Had he always treated him like he was this little boy that needed to be handled gently?

Was he just Yuuma-chan to him too?

...Yeah. He was, wasn't he.

"Are you worried about him?" The sparkling boy asked Yuuma, putting a hand on his shoulder as he continued, "I'm... not at all."

Yuuma paused for a moment before saying anything, "I'm going to believe in him, even though I am worried." Yuuma answered honestly. But then he turned to the boy. "Um... who are you?"

"The most dazzling Yuga Aoyama!" He exclaimed confidently, the sparkles and metaphoric roses bursting around him.

"I'm Yuuma Kagayama, it's nice to meet you, Aoyama-san." Yuuma greeted kindly, to which Aoyama gave a wink. "Your sparkle is almost as dazzling as mine, mon ami!"

"Thank you!" Yuuma answered happily, not sure of what that meant but taking it as a complement nonetheless. He made a new friend; he felt very good about this. But that good feeling would have to wait as he watched Izuku continue to stand in the circle.

Izuku began to throw again, but Yuuma immediately noticed the difference between now and before. instead of his entire arm, it was concentrated and focused to his finger at the last moment of contact with the ball!

"SMASH!"

Smash?

Where had he heard that phrase before?

Yuuma couldn't think of it right then as the ball boomed through the sky with just as much force as Katsuki's explosive throw had. Said boy was shocked by the display, all of his peers words having been true. His shock quickly became anger, however, as that meant that Deku had indeed been lying to him.

Yuuma on the other hand was concentrated on something different.

Izuku's finger was broken.

Yuuma was not pleased with that result, not at all.

"705.3 meters!" The device read, shocking everyone. "Aizawa-Sensei..." Izuku called, the strain apparent in his voice, but the determination clear. His clenched the hand with the broken finger, turning to meet Aizawa's gaze. "I can still move!"

Aizawa's was colored impressed and a smile grew on his face as his eyes widened. "This kid..."

Yuuma mentally sighed in relief at the sight. Izuku was able to impress Uncle Zawa, even if it was a little bit. It was enough to show him he had potential. He was glad for him. In that moment, Izuku looked really cool.

But that did not change the fact that his finger was now a purple, swollen, painful looking eyesore. There was an unwelcome feeling he got looking at him in that state.

Izuku was keeping something from him, and it was dangerous.

Izuku said he wouldn't make him worry, but he lied.

And now Katsuki, giving in to his anger and superiority complex towards Izuku, was storming off to confront him about it. This was promptly stopped by Aizawa, who had neither the time nor the patience to deal with any of it. Seeing them like this, and being with them for so long, Yuuma felt something in him strain.

He clenched and unclenched his fist, and let a sigh escape his lips as he thought.

Why do they feel the need to hurt themselves to prove a point? What were these emotions swirling in his mind at the moment? Why didn't they trust him? Why did they not view him as someone that could be leaned on?

Did they view him as an equal, or was he just the younger boy they happened to be friends with? All of this time, was he really just Yuuma-chan to them? When they saw him, were they seeing someone who could fight with them, help them, and be on equal footing with them? Did they see him as someone who they could depend on?

From everything he's seen so far... no, they didn't.
