(Second Opening Theme: Sunday's Without God Opening-Birth Performed By Kitamura Eri)
The crowd cheered as they watched the players or what the believed to be the accused breaking the pieces apart one by one, as Saorise and Hywel had been battling with wit and strategy; all the while Saorise had been keeping her friends/teammates alive, even with Prism being on the other end of the board. It had only been a few moments when they started the game, and already they were starting to lose more than half of their pieces.
Neither Saorise nor Hywel seemed to have wanted to back out from this match. Though none of them seemed to have noticed a pair of Captains had already been close to the stage; along with them had been Addeline.
"Damn it-" Yami said, "-We're running out of time. We need to figure out a way to stop this curse and fast!"
Jack had said, "KEKE-No need to say it twice! That duck better know what she's doing or she'll become dinner!"
"Quack! Quack!" Addeline shouted as she motioned them to be quiet.
"We probably should have taken Sword Boy with us, since he's the only one that can understand her." Yami said before he shrugged, "Oh well."
She soon rolled on her side towards the arena to get closer, avoiding the loose debris from the game above, as she could them move. She started to sniff around the board and even went as far as to lick it. Though it proved to be a bad idea when she had gotten electrified. Addeline coughed as she said "Quack.."
Yami only facepalmed himself at this, "Why did you think that was a good idea?"
Addeline only raised her feathery fist at him as she said, "Quack! Quack! Quack!"
"KEKE-Maybe next time we take you along we take that sword brat." Jack said. "We can't understand a word you're saying!"
Addeline only grumbled at this before she noticed something at the corner of her eyes. "Quack! Quack!" She exclaimed as she waddled over towards it.
"Oh?" Yami said, "Looks like she's got something."
They kept their heads low as they followed Addeline till they had reached what appeared to be a set of words written on the side of the board as the game continued. "Well, well, well-" Yami said while taking a puff, "-What do we have here?"
He wiped away some of the dust as the words had been clear. "The Devil's Board has no end-" Yami read, "-But without the Kings, the curse will suspend."
"KEKE-" Jack said, "-Sounds like that's the way to break the curse."
"Kings-Kings-" Yami said, as he had been thinking, "-What the hell is this talking about?"
"Oh perfect-" A familiar voice soon said, "-It's that tomboy girl's babysitters."
The trio looked to see it had been a set of familiar thieves; Erin, Blaise, and Dylan.
"And here I thought Arai's ki thing was a load of crap-" Blaise said, "-But it's pretty handy when you figure out the kinks of it. It's especially good for guys that hide their mana like you."
"Say, who's the duck?" Dylan asked.
"Wait a second...It's that Sword Bastard's!" Erin said before she had a smirk as she took out her grimoire. "Oh NOW he's gonna see how it feels to have his bird hurt."
"QUACK!" Addeline said as she took her stick as it glowed.
"Ooh, cute." Erin said with a nonchalant expression. "It even acts like him."
Yami had said as he had gotten ready to draw his sword, "Tch, Well looks like we have no choice."
"Sorry, but we can't let a couple of old geezers and little roast stop this game." Blaise said, "That tater-tot girl and her little Magic Knight buddies are guilty after all."
"KEKE-Is that what you think!?" Jack said.
Yami had told them, "Sorry, but we're not gonna let your captain kill MY squadmates."
"QUACK!" Addeline added as she waved her stick.
"You quote unquote squadmates, are nothing but sellouts, who let people like us die for nothing." Dylan said, "If anything you're the criminals more than we are."
"Is that so?" Yami asked. "And what makes you think WE'RE the criminals here?"
"KEKE-The only people who kidnap civilIans dead or alive are TRUE criminals." Jack told them.
"Because you people let a fellow Captain die on your watch!" Blaise argued, "Hywel told us how an assassin went and murdered him in this very town, and the King left us all financially broke and leaving us all to die!"
"A captain? You mean Captain Omino?" Yami asked, "Funny-Cuz I heard he died saving his squad members on a mission."
"Sure-That's EXACTLY what cowards would say!" Erin said.
"KEKE-Don't you taint his name!" Jack told them, "Despite his goody two-shoes act, Omino was a true captain who would rescue anyone! No matter who they are or how beaten he gets!"
"Yeah-And then you let assassins kill him in this very town!" Dylan said, "He promised he would save us and the King and you left us all to die!"
"All of you royals and Magic Knights are nothing but a bunch of liars and back stabbers!" Erin said, "You deserve just as much punishment as they did!"
"And who told you that? Hywel?" Yami said, "He's playing you guys for a sap. All this for what? Vendetta? The guy only cares for himself. For someone who says we magic knights are liars and backstabbers, sounds like this guy is doing the same thing you hate so much."
The three teens' faces widened in shock as Yami told them
"S-shut up! That's a lie!" Dylan said. "Hywel would never-"
"Never what?" Yami asked. "Lie behind your back? Let me ask you kids this, did he tell you all the WHOLE plan?"
"What yeah! Of course he did!" Blasie said. "It was-errrr-hold on it's getting to me-uh-."
"He said he's going to change the way this kingdom works!" Erin said, "And give payback to the people we lost!"
Jack had told her, "KEKE-By killing them? That's a REAL funny way to help. Where's the fun if they can't even fight back?"
"Tell that to when that Assassin killed Omnio!" Blaise said
"Funny story about that." Yami said. "Because the person who killed Omnio...was none other than the big bad boss himself, Hywell"
Erin, Blaise and Dylan looked shocked and petrified at this. "Oh that's a lot of bull honkey!" Blaise said, "Hywel ain't no back stabber!"
"He even promised to let the Tomboy Girl and her buddies go back to you if they win!" Dylan said, "He'd never kill a Captain!"
"He said he'd only kill them if they lost!" Erin said, "You know, teaching them a lesson and what not."
"Never killed a captain, huh?"Yami asked.
"KEKE-Should I tell them how or you?" Jack asked.
He gave a wave of his hand as he replied, "Be my Gue-"
"Oh my god!" They heard someone in the crowd shout, "She actually cornered the King!"
The group looked over to the board only just now noticing the aftermath of the whole chess match. Asta, Feodora and the Familiars and little Donkey had been tired and out of it, as they looked to be covered in bruises.
Even Prism looked out of it as the spirits around her looked to be out of it and shriveled. Hywel couldn't help but have an amused smile. "Impressive-" Hywel said, "-Really impressive. I have to admit you're a worthy adversary when it comes to strategy."
"I would say the same to you but-" Saorise said, "-You've been kind of a jerk to us." She soon held her piece, "So-It's time for me-to take your king!"
"Ha!" Blaise said, as he had a smirk, "Now you're gonna see how honorable Hywel!"
"He's more honorable than you clowns combined!" Erin said, "And you get your tomboy girl back."
Saorise placed her rook in front of the king as it had been ready to take out the king as the crowd started to boo at Saorise. Her rook shifted into a beast as it had readied its claws. Lifting it up high, it readied to give the blow and end the game right them and there.
Or so they thought.
BOOM!
Hywels king suddenly shifted into a chimera as it had suddenly blown up the rook, before it shifted back. The crowd had gone silent as even Erin, Dylan, and Blaise lost the smiles on their faces as they looked shocked. Yami and Jack's jaws nearly dropped at this sort of thing as even a certain few in the crowd looked shocked.
Saorise however had been trying to process what had just happened before-
"WHAAAAAT?!" Saorise exclaimed, "NO! GUYS! THIS BOARD CHEATS!"
"OBVIOUSLY!" Feodora shouted.
"TELL US SOMETHING WE DON'T KNOW!" Liam yelled.
The Triple A's, Pluck and even Noelle and Fugeleon had stood in shock by what they had seen. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Aisling shouted, "THIS GAME CHEATS!?"
Pluck shouted as he pulled on his hair in anger, "YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!"
"WHAT SORT OF CURSED ITEM IS THIS!?" Noelle
"Alright-" Karasu said before he started to go through the petrified crowd, "-That's it!"
"Arai!" Fugueleon exclaimed, "Damn it!" He soon turned to the others, "Go find your Captains and assist them! I'll go get Arai!"
"Sir! Yes sir!" Aisling said as she saluted, "Lets go siblings!"
"Time for stealth mode!" Aidan said.
"Come on, Silva. We have to stop them." Pluck said as he held her hand and pushed through.
"H-Hey! Don't address me like we're friends! I'm-" Noelle started to say, Before Pluck said. "Just shut up and come on!"
Yami soon looked at the words upon the board as he realized what it had meant, "The Devils Board-" He soon enunciated as he soon had a glare, "-NEVER ends!"
Yami clicked his tongue before he took Blasie's shirt and lifted it up. "Okay You Fox! You're gonna tell us how we're gonna save our friends-RIGHT NOW."
"I-I-i-" Blaise said.
"KEKE-SPILL IT BUB!" Jack said as he got his blade close to his face, "UNLESS YOU WANT A NEW FACE MAKEOVER!"
"I-I-I-I-!" Blaise tried to say before he said fearfully, "-WE DON'T KNOW!"
Yami and Jack looked shocked by this sort of information.
"QUACK!" Addeline exclaimed as she whacked Erin on the shin with her stick as she yelped in pain. She soon had a look of horror before she started to tug at Yami and Jack as she had been trying to get the attention back to the board. "QUACK! QUACK QUACK QUACK! QUACK!"
"Sorry-" Hywel said, "-But it's not over until you're all dead!"
Prism jumped as she could feel herself start to move from the position she had been heading towards Asta.
"ASTA!" She exclaimed, "WATCH OUT!"
"OH CRAP!" Asta exclaimed.
The moment she had gotten close to Asta she could feel her body start to move on its own before she swung hard and fast to him. He could feel a sharp sting on his cheek as he was nearly knocked over. "ASTA!" Feodora shouted as he continued getting hit.
Saorise had given a sneer towards Hywel, "... You-You were never going to let us go!" She said, "You wanted this to happen!"
"Did you really think I was actually going to let you leave here with your lives?" Hywel said, "This game doesn't end-Until every single one of you dies."
"YOU MONSTER!" Brenin shouted, "HOW DARE YOU MAKE PRIMROSE DO THIS!"
"WHEN I GET FREE FROM THIS YOU'RE DEAD! YOU HEAR ME?!" Liam shouted.
"Like I care about that-" Hywel said, "-Now watch as my Queen eliminates you all."
Prism struggled to stop herself as she continued to hit Asta, though with a grit of her teeth, Saorise had started to move Asta's piece before Prism struck him again; he moved just in time as she swung her weapon.
"As much as I love Primrose-" Saorise said, "-I can't let you make her do something heinous!"
"Go ahead-" Hywel said as he started to move the queen piece after Asta, "-You're only delaying the inevitable."
Despite the crowds jeers and confused as they started to chase each other across the board, but-
"HYWEL!"
Most of them jumped a little, before the crowd shrieked in surprise when Karasu hopped from the sea of people and towards Hywel. He quickly broke out his grimoire as he had manifested a card shield as he blocked his blade.
"Karasu?!" Saorise, Feodora, Brenin and Liam said shocked.
"Why couldn't you just let this all go!?" Karasu shouted, before he kicked himself off the card shield and charged at him, "Why couldn't you just put it all behind you!?"
"Card Magic-Warrior's Blade!" Hywel said. The cards folded up into a blade before he used it to block his attack.
"Karasu-Old friend." Hywel said, "I see you managed to find your way into a group of fakes."
"You and I-were NEVER friends!" Karasu said with a glare before he kicked him across the face as it had made him stumble. Hywel grunted before he charged at Karasu with full force before their blades started to clash with each other.
"Karasu!" Saorise said, "Hang o-!"
The jade bracelets on her wrists started to light up before she found herself pinned and forced to her knees. "What!?" She exclaimed.
She soon noticed the board as the pieces had started to move on their own, "Oh no!" She exclaimed, "Oh no, no, no!"
Yami and Jack had been currently processing what Blaise had just told them as it couldn't help but anger them further.
"What do you mean-" Yami said, "-You DON'T know?!"
"Like we said, we don't know!" Blasie said.
"Hywel never brought the Devils board out before!" Erin said, "This is the first time we've seen it used, we swear!"
"QUACK QUACK!" Addeline exclaimed as she waved her stick ready to attack again, "QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK!"
"And we definitely didn't know he was going to do something like this!" Dylan exclaimed as she gestured towards the board, as they saw how Prism had been forced to chase Asta across the board.
Yami growled before he tossed Blaise to the ground. He soon looked at the inscription on the side, "Damn it all, why did it have to be a damn riddle!?
"KEKE-Quit complaining and figure it out!" Jack told him.
"WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M DOING!?" Yami shouted.
"Captain!" A familiar voice called out.
Yami and Jack turned over and saw The rest of the group which consisted of the Triple As, Pluck and Noelle.
"What's going on?" Noelle asked.
"KEKE-We have a slight problem." Jack told them.
"What sort of-" Aisling started to say before she shrieked, "-IT'S THE THIEVES!"
Blaise soon shrieked, before he shouted, "IT'S THE BADASS!"
Erin looked to Pluck as she shouted while pulling out her staff, "YOU! DECIDED TO COME OUT HUH?! OWL BEATER!" She got her grimoire and summoned an owl. "TIME FOR SOME PAYBACK!"
Pluck only had a look before he took out his blade as he said. "Reflected Parry." As the attack hit, it was sent back to Erin as she shrieked before it landed and caused an explosion.
"I'm in NO MOOD for this crap right now." Pluck said.
"W-was that necessary?" Noelle asked, nervously as she saw Erin twitch.
"Yes...Yes it was." Pluck told her..
"Hey, now's not the time for that!" Yami said, "Is one of you good at riddles?!"
"I am Uncle Yami!" Aidan replied as he raised his hand, "Why-Why do you ask?"
Yami soon gestured towards the inscription as he replied, "Figure this one out."
Aidan looked over to the writing on the board as he nearly jumped back by the debris that came down. Brushing his hand across it he had read the writing along it. "The Devil's Board has no end, but without the Kings and the game will suspend-" Aidan read aloud before he thought to himself, "Without the kings? What's that supposed to mean?"
"Can you make it out Aidan?" Aine asked.
"Well obviously this must be the key to stopping the game-" Aidan said, "-But without the kings? What is it talking about?"
Pluck looked to the board as he could hear Asta screaming. "Uhh Aidan..Can you hurry before our friends die?!"
"Shush Pluck!" Aidan said, "You're gonna make me lose my train of thought!"
Pluck couldn't help but shout as he shook him, "WE'RE ALMOST OUT OF TIME HERE!"
Addeline came up and bonked Pluck on the head as she said. "QUACK! QUACK QUACK!"
"It's hard to stay calm when the craziness is going on!" Pluck told Addeline. Erin got up, ready to attack again only for Pluck to use his cat paw sword and scratch her face without looking.
"OW! YOU LITTLE!" Erin asked before the cat paw caught her face as she screamed.
"Well panicking isn't gonna solve it, Pluck!" Aidan told him. "I just need to figure out the last piece, so don't shake me please!"
They could hear Asta shriek again as Pluck couldn't help but pull on his hair. He couldn't help but say as he did this, "Figure it out faster please!"
"Hey I don't rush you when you're studying!" Aidan said, "Now be quiet bro!"
Up upon the board Asta had eventually backed up into a corner as Prism had been trying to stop herself from attacking him.
"Asta! I'm sorry!" Prism exclaimed, "I'm not the one doing this! I don't want to hurt you!"
"That's okay!" Asta replied, as he had been covered in a few cuts and bruises, "Don't worry about it!"
Hywel noticed that Prism had backed Asta into a corner as he had a smirk. "Now the time has come!" He told her, "Now you accused will see what it's like to kill those you love!"
"HYWEL YOU DAMN BASTARD!" Karasu shouted before he had hit him in the stomach, "I'm going to make you pay-If you don't let them go!"
Hywel only chuckled, "I told you! It can't be broken unless the blood is spilled!"
"No, you can't make her do this!" Brenin shouted.
"Please stop this!" Saorise said.
"Why should I?!" Hywel said, "All you Royals and Magic Knights have ever been is cruel and cold! You never saw ANYONE to their full potential, and NEVER gave them the benefit of the doubt on certain things!"
"Why won't you just shut up?!" Karasu shouted before he put him in a choke hold.
"You all agree with me don't you?!" Hywel said to the crowd, "The Captains, the Royals, the King took everything from you! They left you all behind to die like rats on the street! It's time they got what they deserved!"
The crowd's looks seemed to have changed as the words started to sink into their heads.
"He's right! They don't deserve our pity!"
"They all deserve to pay!"
"DEATH TO THE MAGIC KNIGHTS! DEATH TO ALL ROYALS!"
"LET THEIR BLOOD SPILL ON THIS DAY!"
Karasu couldn't help but have a hardened look as the crowd cheered. Brenin and Liam struggled to get free though their restraints didn't allow it.
Soon, the crowd began to chant as Prism's body started to shake.
"KILL THE KNIGHT! KILL THE KNIGHT! KILL THE KNIGHT! KILL THE KNIGHT! KILL THE KNIGHT!"
"YOU DAMN BASTARDS!" Feodora shouted, "YOU'RE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE!"
"YOU'RE DEAD YOU DAMN ROACH!" Liam shouted to Hywel, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU WHEN I'M FREE FROM THIS!"
"STOP THIS!" Brenin yelled, "THIS IS WRONG AND YOU KNOW IT!"
"Hywel is just tricking you!" Karasu yelled as he kept his hold on him, "Stop listening to his lies!"
Prism could feel the people's voice drown out everything around her as she had been struggling to stop her from moving towards Asta. She felt herself back in a familiar setting, back to a familiar place-Back to where… She was trapped.
Soon enough she could hear a familiar set of voices, speaking to her… And to her parents.
"The child doesn't belong here! As the Future Heir, she needs to learn the proper way to rule!"
"These people-Even your wife aren't fit to raise her!"
"They are a lower form than dirt!"
"She is of royal blood-Therefore she is to return to the Castle to learn how to control her magic, and learn the proper way to rule a Kingdom!"
"You forget-She is MY daughter, therefore she is my flesh and blood. Whether she is not entirely human, royal or not, she deserves her childhood like every other in Clover."
"She is a person with her own mind. And as her mother I will NOT let you speak for her behalf! If she does not want to leave her family-Then she will not leave her family!"
"But if she does not make a choice-One day WE will."
Her anxiety had started to rise as she could feel everything rise as everything around her seemed to have gotten fuzzy. Without even so much as thinking she had shouted with all her might-
"I DON'T WANT THIS!"
Immediately the crowd had ceased their cheers, as even her voice had frozen Karasu and even Hywel. Yami and Jack, the Triple A's, Noelle and even Pluck had been startled by her; Erin, Blaise and Dylan had a look of surprise as they looked to the board.
Asta could see clearly, tears started to fall as she had choked on her sobs.
"I-" She choked, "-I'm… I'm scared of being trapped… I don't want anyone to die… I never wanted to kill anyone to begin with…!" She couldn't stop her tears even if she had wanted, as her arms had started to shake vigorously; the spirits had turned a dark blue color as they too began to weep.
"I-I don't-" She sniffled, "-I don't want this… I never wanted this… I don't want to lose anyone… Even though they are strangers… But-I don't know… I don't know what I should do…! Because-If it wasn't for me-You all wouldn't be here in this mess…! Just like the dungeon! I was just being dumb! Like back then… ! I… I really am just a dummy!"
Pluck couldn't help but gasp at this as he had a look of horror. Even the Triple A's had a look at him as they had their own mixed emotions that were written on their faces.
"Prism..." Pluck said as his look softened before it seemed to have hit him. "Oh Gods… What have I done?"
Noelle had her own look as she had said to Pluck, "This is how you treat your best friend?"
"Hey… Primrose?" Asta soon said as her attention was drawn to him. She had been shocked to see he had a smile, "You don't have to sell yourself short like that. What I said before back in the dungeon, I really did mean it. You're no dummy at all. You've done amazing things that you don't give yourself credit for! You even find ways to make sure everyone wins!" His face softened slightly at a certain thought, "I know, we couldn't save Mars, but you were willing to see past what he did and give him a second chance. I know I would've done the same! Hell! I WANTED to do the same! And I bet if he was alive, he would've thanked you for what you did for him!"
Prism had sniffled slightly as at that point she could feel her nose had been running.
"Asta…" Prism choked.
"Hey come on shorty-" Feodora soon said with a smile, "-You know I appreciate what you did for him. What you were both doing for him. And he's not wrong-Not only would he thank Asta, but he would thank you too."
"Primrose-" Brenin soon said, "-Dummy or not, since the day we met you, you've changed our lives for the better. Most importantly, you gave us something no one could take away. You gave us a family."
"You gave us a home, and a childhood we would always remember!" Saorise said, "It doesn't matter if it's good or bad, they're our memories! No one could replace them. And quite frankly, that's the best treasure of all."
"Saorise, Brenin and I love you so much." Liam said, "Nothing in this world is ever going to change that, shortcake. You're the most amazing person we've ever known."
"They got a point."
Prism had been shocked as she looked over her shoulder to see that Yami had hoisted himself onto board before he walked towards her.
"Captain Yami!" Asta said, relieved.
"Oh thank Gods!" Feodora said.
"Who's the Gorilla?" Donkey asked in a monotone voice.
"What took you so damn long!?" Liam yelled, "Were you just stuck in the bathroom?!"
"Hey! Do you mind?! I'm trying to give the kid a pep-talk here!" Yami told him before he turned Prism after having approached her side, "hey listen, it's like I told you before, you're no dummy. Do you need help on certain things? Yes, you do, but that doesn't make you dumber than anyone else. That just means you're willing to work smarter, not harder."
Prism choked a little, before she could feel a weight had been lifted off of her chest, "Do-Do you really mean that?"
"Of course!" Asta replied with a smile, "I mean every word of it! There's no way I would lie about something like that!"
"Come on-" Feodora said as she had her own smirk, "-You spent six months living under our roof. You and I both know Asta is too awkward to tell you something like that unless he really means it."
"HEY!" Asta shouted as he puffed his cheeks towards Feodora. Though Prism couldn't help but laugh at this sort of thing, despite her tears. She soon felt Yami place his hand on her wrist, as she could feel him give her a reassuring squeeze. He soon told her with a smirk of his own, "There she is. You look better with a smile."
Prism took a deep breath, as her smile stayed, "... Thanks Yami…" She gave herself a soft chuckle before she realized something, "... You… Really did find me, like you said you would."
Yami laughed as he said, "I gave my word, did i?"
The moment was soon cut short when Hywel had suddenly kicked back Karasu; he went to the board before he took hold of the Queen's piece.
"NO!" Karasu and Saorise exclaimed.
The bracelets around Prism's wrist as she felt herself pull away from Yami, as they were forced to take hold of her weapon. "N-no!" Prism exclaimed as Yami readied his sword when she turned towards him.
"Captain Yami!" Asta exclaimed.
Hywel gave a maniacal laugh as he said "THAT'S RIGHT YOU DAMN MAGIC KNIGHT! NOW YOU'RE GONNA SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO SUFFER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!"
"HYWEL STOP IT!" Karasu shouted before he charged at him; though before he could even hit him, Hywel blasted him back with a set of cards as he had been knocked out instantly.
"Karasu!" Saorise exclaimed out of worry.
"Kill him you damn royal!" Hywel shouted, ignoring the shouts of protest from the crowd.
"Ya-Yami!" Prism exclaimed fearfully, "I can't stop it! Get out of here!"
Yami told her, "It's okay, kid! I know this looks bad, but we'll get out of this together!"
"But-" She started to say before she was forced to swing her weapon at him as she screamed. Yami had quickly blocked the blade as she had tried to pull away. "I don't want you to get hurt!" She said, "Leave me!"
Yami told her more firmly, "Like I said, I'm not leaving you! No Magic Knight gets left behind!"
"If that's how you want to play-" Hywel said before he grabbed the opposing knight which had been Asta. He felt himself move towards him, "Captain Yami, look out!" He shouted as he went to swing the weapon he was forced to hold.
Yami had been quick to evade as Asta attacked him from behind. At that moment Hywel took hold of Brenin, Liam, Feodora and Donkey's before they found themselves moving towards him.
"Oh Gods-" Feodora exclaimed as she was forced to attack, "-ON YOUR LEFT!"
Yami ducked as he found only a few strands of his hair had gotten nicked off, via Feodora's jade staff.
He soon blocked an attack from both Brenin and Liam. "Help!" Brenin exclaimed, "We-Can't stop it!"
"Our magic-" Liam said, "-We can't break through!"
"I don't know who you are-" Donkey said as he held his weapon, "-But I think I'm about to stab your toe!"
Yami immediately moved his foot out of the way as Donkey had dented the board as he quickly jumped back. "THIS IS CRAZY!" Asta exclaimed as he was forced to charge at him, "IT'S LIKE MY ARM HAS A BRAIN OF ITS OWN!"
Yami dodged him again before he could hear Hywel give out a laugh. "Die you damn Captain!" Hywel shouted, "Die!"
Yami soon had a glare as he shouted to Hywel, "HEY BASTARD! YOU'RE GONNA REGRET FORCING MY SQUADMATES TO KILL ME.! ONLY I GET THE LIBERTY OF KILLING THEM MYSELF!"
"THAT'S NOT REASSURING!" Asta exclaimed.
"WHAT KIND OF A CAPTAIN ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE?!" Feodora shouted before she screamed when she went to attack him again.
"It won't matter until you're dead!" Hywel shouted.
Jack soon joined in the fight as he said with his blades out "KEKE-Like I'll allow you to kill MY rival! No one can kill him-BUT ME!"
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!" Liam exclaimed.
"SERIOUSLY, HOW ARE YOU CAPTAINS?!" Feodora shouted, before they started to attack again. Though this time around, Yami and Jack were fighting together.
As the Triple A's, Pluck and Noelle see the captains joining they couldn't help but have a shocked expression on their faces.
"I guess on the plus side we can focus on the riddle?" Aisling said.
"Y-yeah, though I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that last part from Uncle Yami." Aidan said as he turned to the inscription.
Pluck shouted as he shook Aidan, "JUST HURRY UP AND SOLVE THE RIDDLE!"
"DON'T SHAKE ME BRO! I CAN'T CONCENTRATE!" Aidan shouted.
"THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO FOOL AROUND!" Noelle yelled.
Pluck shouted back to Noelle, "SHUT UP, STUPID SILVA! WHO ASKED YOU!?"
"I WASN'T ASKING!!" She yelled.
Erin, Blaise and Dylan had been in pure shock as they had been currently processing what had just occurred. "Gods…" Erin said, "... Arai was onto something after all…" She soon had her own sneer, "Hywel never gave a rat's ass about us! He's just been working us off of his own spite!"
"That cheating little bastard-!" Blaise shouted, "-As much as I HATE being wrong, that damn son of a troll used us because of a STUPID little-PERSONAL GRUDGE!"
"Oh I am going to make that guy WISH he was never born!" Dylan said as she manifested her knives before she looked at the board, "But how are we supposed to stop that board?"
"That's a mystery in itself!" Blaise said.
"You can Start by helping my brother solve this riddle, you dolts!" Pluck said.
"Like a stupid riddle can help us-OWL KILLER!" Erin said as she gave Pluck a death glare that made him shrink a little.
"Can you let that go...FOR FIVE SECONDS?!" Pluck exclaimed.
"NO." Erin said in a demonic tone of voice as it made Pluck shrink again
"Bro-?" Aine said as she gave him a look, "-What is it with you and pissing off ladies?"
"Hey! I was just being honest!" Pluck told her.
"You're too honest!" Aisling said, "We keep telling you this!"
"Plus-You're still a bad influence!" Aidan added.
Blaise couldn't help but groan, as he dragged his hands down his face, "This game is so damn annoying! I'd get out of any round just by getting rid of those King pieces!"
Aidan soon stopped what he was doing as something seemed to have clicked in his head. "Hang on-" Aidan said as he felt his gears turn in his head, "-Say that again."
Blaise gave a quizzical look, "Uh-I'd get out of any round just by getting rid of those King pieces?"
Aidan soon had a look of realization as he looked at the inscription again. "The Devil's Board never ends-" He enunciated, "-But without the Kings, the game will suspend." His expression soon brightened as he let out a scream making them jump.
"That's it!" Aidan exclaimed with a smile, "That's the way to stop the Devil's Board!" he soon hugged Blaise which took him back as he could help but blush, "Dude you're a genius! More so then Pluck!"
"Hey!" Pluck said, offended.
"Uh thanks-?" Blaise said confused before he pushed him out of the hug, "-Also please don't do that."
"Aidan-I know that face!" Aisling said.
"Tell us what you're thinking!" Aine said.
"The King's pieces!" Aidan exclaimed, "The King's pieces are the source of the Devils Board! All we have to do is destroy the large ones, and everything will stop!"
The group's expressions brightened at this.
"Hell to the H yes!" Aine said, "That's our brother!"
""Good plan, quick question, how are we gonna get close to one of them with that maniac in control?" Noelle asked.
They soon turned to Pluck which made him flinch before he asked "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Pluck-" Aidan soon said, "-I apologize for what I'm about to do."
"Huh?" Pluck asked as he noticed Aidan had gotten out his grimoire, "What are you talking abou-oh you gotta be kidding me."
"Promise not to pull down our hats later! I love you bro" Aidan said as he held him over his head, "ELASTIC MAGIC: SLINGSHOT CANON!"
His arms soon extended up to five feet which shocked Erin, Blaise, Dylan and Noelle especially. It hadn't been long before Pluck found himself flying through the air like a torpedo as he had been attempting to fly through the air.
"ANA LATTA AS ME!" He shrieked as he could feel his eyes watering as he found himself hurtling towards the King piece on what used to be Saorise's end of the board.
"I was hoping that killed him." Erin said before she let out a welp as Addeline whacked her foot.
"QUACK!" Addeline shouted as she waved her fist.
Hywel could see that Pluck had landed on the king as he nearly knocked it over the large chest piece. He let out a growl, "You damn royal-" He started to say as he reached for the other pieces, however-
"Jinx Restraining Magic: Yellow Flower Vines!"
A set of familiar vines wrapped around his wrist just before he could grab one of the pieces on the board. He gritted his teeth as he saw it had been Karasu, as he looked to have a broken nose.
"Don't forget about me bastard!" He yelled before he pulled him towards him.
Hywel immediately took action before he could have a chance to strike. "Card Magic: Gambits Revenge!"
As Karasu charged headfirst he was hit hard with the cards as they seemed to have exploded and knocked him out of the air; he cried out in agony as he hit the stage hard.
"Do you seriously think you can beat me?!" Hywel said as he tossed a couple of cards towards Karasu. He was quick to dodge all but one; it hit him right in the wrist as he shrieked out in agony again.
"Damn it!" Karasu exclaimed.
"You could NEVER beat me Arai!" He shouted, "You and I both know you were always the weak one in the Pack! Ever since I took you and your sister in when you had nowhere to go!"
"You didn't take me in! Arthur did!" Karasu told him as he recovered, "He's the one that gave me a home-Until you convinced him that kidnapping people was a good thing! Do you think I wanted to expose Sachiko to that kind of life!"
"You never saw the bigger picture! And Arthur too!" He told him as he stepped towards him, "That's EXACTLY why you were weak! That's why I got rid of him! That's why you were too weak-TO SAVE YOUR AUNT AND UNCLE!"
Just as this said, he kicked Karasu hard in the stomach as it caused him to gag. "Karasu!" Saorise exclaimed in horror.
"Face it-You're nothing but a scared little kid, who can't even handle his own curse." Hywel told him as he grabbed him by the hair, "That's what makes you a coward. And I will make sure everyone here knows that." He soon held a golden card in his hand and was ready to throw an attack, but-
"FIRE MAGIC-SOL LINEA!"
Soon a fire attack soon made its way towards Hywel as he was met with a burn to his arm as he shouted in agony.
The crowd gasped in horror as Karasu had a look of shock when he saw it had Fugeleon who had stood in front of him.
"Captain Fugeleon." Hywel soon said, as he chuckled, "My former captain and the Greatest Pretender of all."
"Former captain?" Karasu said, shocked.
"This game of yours ends now, Hywel." Fuegoleon said as he had a look with his flames increasing. "You can't keep running."
"What makes you think so, hypocrite?!" Hywel asked.
Prism had a look of shock and horror, as after Yami had blocked an attack from her she saw what was going on. "No-!" She exclaimed.
Pluck groaned as he got up, "Gotta-end this game.." he got his grimoire as he said "SWORD CREATION MAGIC-DORALDO!" Pluck took out a familiar golden sword with jewels as it shined brightly. "SWORD MAGIC ORIGIN FLASH-KIRAMEKOUZE!"
With a swing of his sword, he broke the king's piece in a glistening flash, which took Hywel back. "NO!" He exclaimed.
Fugeleon said as a set of flames emitted from the palm of his hand, "and that's just the beginning. Surrender Hywel."
Hywel gritted his teeth, before he looked at the board. "Not until-" He said, -YOU ROYALS ARE DEAD!" He tossed a glowing card at his feet as it had blinded him before he dashed towards the board. Karasu quickly acted as he charged at him.
"JINX MAGIC: CRACKBACK SLASH!"
With a swing, a purple beam emitted from his blade as it flew towards Hywel; he was able to jump back though it blocked his blade.
"Don't you get it Hywel?!" Karasu said to him, "It's over! Just stop this before you get hurt!"
"The only people gonna get hurt are you, your friends, those damn captains-AND ESPECIALLY THAT DAMN ROYAL THAT BROKE MY PIECE!" Hywel exclaimed as he kicked Karasu before he hurled a Card at Pluck that hit his shoulder with blood spurting out as he screamed in agony.
"PLUCK!" The Triple A's exclaimed
"BARBADOS!" Noelle shouted.
"QUACK!" Addeline cried out.
"CARD MAGIC-" Hywel shouted as he manifested a red card, "-GAMBIT'S BANE!"
"NO!" Karasu shouted before he started to move. Hywel tossed the card towards Pluck. It would've hit him, were it not for Karasu as it seemed like in a blink of an eye he had put himself between Hywel and Pluck as he brought his blade in front of him.
The card hit him dead center on what was already damaged, however the moment it had blown up, the blade had snapped in half, as what had been left of it had gone right through his shoulder as he caused him to shriek.
From where Prism had been she had a look of horror as her face had paled. Her eyes had been focused on Karasu as he hit the ground. Hywel had been ready to attack Karasu again just as he had been recovering.
In that very moment-All she could see was red as a certain set of words had repeated in her head.
"With the Death Incantation, you and the others will pull through…"
The Captains and others as they continued to attack, soon noticed the Spirits had turned into a familiar color of white as even their bodies shifted.
"Uh-" Brenin said, "-That's a new one."
"What's going on?!" Liam said.
"Oooh look!" Donkey said in a happy tone of voice, "The Pretty Lady's eyes is white now."
"What!?" Most of them shouted before they noticed Prism. Their eyes widened in horror as they saw it had changed into a shade of white as her pupils had been silted.
"Pri?!" Asta said worried.
They soon noticed Elior began to glow a red glow, before, much to the Captains and Pluck's own shock, he spat out her grimoire; it had floated towards her as it had opened itself.
"What in the hell?!" Pluck exclaimed.
Yami had said, stunned, "What is that kid doing?!"
The grimoire turned it's pages as despite the glow on the jade bracelets, she was able to move her hand and stop it at a certain page. They soon noticed the dragon on the cover of the grimoire had started to glow a familiar red color which Feodora had been quick to notice.
"The eyes are glowing red, like before?!" Feodora said shocked as she recalled what happened at the dungeon.
Then, she started to utter a set of familiar words.
Break and tear
Skin to bone
Ash to dust
Decay and be free
Over and over again she repeated the same set of words, which shocked them. "That's the-" Feodora started to say.
"-The words we heard from when we found her, and-When she tried to take Noelle's Magic!" Asta said.
"Uh guys-" Blaise said, before he pointed in a certain direction"-I'm not familiar with how a five leaf grimoire works but-Is THAT supposed to happen?"
The group looked to where he was pointing before they saw the jade color on the board had started to turn to a color of gray. They soon noticed that Prism's veins had started to glow a black color; even to the veins that had been around her eyes.
The jade cuffs on her had broken apart as did what she had been wearing revealing the ones she was provided by the Wizard King himself. It was then they could see as her feet touched the ground, not only did blood run down her cheek from her left eye, but her eyes had been coated with black as even her voice became demonic. It hadn't been long before Brenin, Saorise and Liam started to groan in agony.
"Guys!?" Asta exclaimed, "What's wrong?!"
"It-It hurts!" Brenin said, in agony, "It hurts so much!"
"She's-In-So much pain-!" Saorise cried.
"It's like-She's being eaten alive!" Liam added before he screamed.
Asta and Feodora soon noticed that the jade bracelets on them became withered and grey before they found themselves hitting the floor.
"I don't know what this is!" Feodora exclaimed as she fixed up her outfit after the jade outfit broke apart, "But I don't think she's in control!"
"KEKE-Not in control huh?" Jack asked.
"Shit. Figures as much." Yami said. "We have to snap her out of it before she kills someone!"
Prism soon set her sights on Hywel as he stood there just as shocked as the crowd had been. She let out a growl as they noticed her teeth had become almost like that of a canine before she took the crowd back as she let out a piercing roar. The sound itself nearly made everyone's ears shatter. Donkey's eyes had been in awe and yet a look of curiosity.
"It sounds…. Sad." Donkey said as his eyes looked to be that of gray, "Yet beautiful… Have I heard it before?"
Prism soon charged towards Hywel with malice; he didn't even have a chance to defend himself as she tackled him to the ground; they could see her black veins had glowed slightly. "Primrose no!" Fugeleon exclaimed.
Right when she was about to throw a punch Fugeleon managed to grab her and pull her off in the nick of time. Though not before he could feel his own magic draining from himself as he was forced to let her go.
For a brief moment, they saw her veins glow a red glow. The group had a look of horror as the crowd had started to panic.
"She-Absorbed his magic?!" Asta exclaimed.
"But—She—Didn't touch him!" Feodora said in realization.
"You mean she can take it, if WE touch her now?!" Aine exclaimed out of shock.
"We're Dead! We're dead!" Aidan exclaimed.
"Okay, Looks like we need a sacrifice." Erin said before looking at Addeline, "I nominate the duck."
"QUACK?!" Addeline exclaimed before she got her stick and hit her on the other shin causing her to yelp while she said "QUACK QUACK! QUACK!"
They saw Prism going back towards Hywel as he was trying to pull himself away. "There has to be something we could do!" Feodora said, "If she kills him, she's never going to forgive herself!"
"Well we can't just attack her-" Noelle said before pointing to the spirits, "-They might think we're trying to hurt her!"
Pluck winched as he took the card out his shoulder, "We have to restrain her somehow. The longer we delay, the more people will get hurt!"
"I couldn't agree more-" Fugeleon said before turning to Yami, "-Didn't you say she couldn't absorb your Dark Magic?"
Yami soon had a smirk as he seemed to know what he was thinking. He said as he readied his sword, "You damn right."
"Wait, Captain, what are you going to do?!" Pluck said.
Prism had been ready to pounce Hywel until-
"Dark Restraining Magic-Dark Binding!" Yami had casted.
Dark bindings soon appeared upon his very blade, as it wrapped around Prism's body as she was pulled to the floor. She fought against them, and thrashed, but it was the Captains had thought-No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't break free.
"It's-Working!" Karasu said, relieved.
"She tried to kill me!" Hywel said, "She tried to take my magic!" He turned to the crowd as he didn't seem phased by the crowds' shocked faces, "This is what all the royals will do to us if we don't act now! Strike down the Captains where they stand before it's too late!"
The crowd only backed away from Hywel as they each shook slightly.
Pluck turned to Hywel with a glare before he ran up to him and used Dolrado to cut his shoulder before giving him a punch to the face much to everyone's shock with the exception of the captain's.
"Shut up.." Pluck said. "Not another word..."
Hywel coughed blood as he gave a chuckle, "heh, showing your true colors, huh, Royal?"
Pluck just stepped on his wound as he continued to have that glare, "Are you deaf? I said, "Not another word."
Hywel said as he still had a sickening smile, ""Or what? Are you gonna execute me infront of all these people? You'll only be proving my point!"
"Actually-" Feodora soon said as she stepped forward before she cracked her fists, "-You'd be dealing with me prick."
Hywel gave a laugh as he said "Oh just the two of you? What will a bunch of brats do to me?"
"Well not the Stuck up- Feodora said as she had shocked him, "I know he's got more then a few words to say, but he's not nearly as mad as I am for what you just did."
Hywel looked a bit confused, "So what?" He said, "It's just going to be you?"
"Me-" Feodora said before she pointed to a certain someone, "-And that guy."
Hywel turned to Jack as he got his blades out; he could sense a death threatening aura coming over him. "KEKE-sword boy isn't the only one who wants to cut you up! the fact you manipulated my squadmate to create this mess makes me wanna kick your ass more!"
Hywell had a smile but his expression was fear as he said, "Y-you all don't scare me...watch...The day you magic knights and royals fall, i'll sleep sound-"
Pluck just kicked his face as he said, "Seriously, You really have a bad habit of pissing people off. I'm not sure if i want my sword to be tainted with your blood anymore."
Noelle only shook as she asked the Triple As. "Why is your brother scary?"
"Beats us.." Aisling asked as she held her siblings.
"Yeah, yeah, enough with the chit chat, no one cares." Feodora said, "Time for some payback for putting me in that God awful outfit."
Pluck seemed to snapped out of it as he looked to Feodora confused, "Wait, that's what you're mad about-"
"Shut up, he opened a wound for me." She told him as she soon got him to turn around, "You might want to look away for this."
"Huh? Wh-" The moment Pluck had his back turned he froze up as he heard a loud piercing scream as the crowd seemed to have backed up and cringed at what Feodora and Jack had been currently doing to Hywel
"Bi-Bime i elena-" Aisling said, "-I never knew a person could bend that way."
"I don't think I'm gonna eat for a while." Aidan said, shocked.
Noelle who had been unfortunately watching couldn't help but say as her jaw dropped, "Was-She really a royal like me at one point?"
"How is Jack a Captain again?" Aine asked.
Pluck had said as he had been shivering, "Okay, Never messing with her again...or Jack for that matter."
"I wish that was me." Donkey said in a monotone voice as it made most of them jump.
"Seriously, who are you!?" Aine said as she had a disturbed look on her face.
"Where did you find this guy?" Aisling asked Asta.
Asta had a nervous laugh as he said, "It's a LONG story."
"Please tell me we're not keeping him." Noelle asked
Before anyone could answer they could hear a familiar shriek from Prism as they could see her right eye started to bleed. The Familiars had been in just as much agony as she had been.
"Pri!" Asta exclaimed with worry as he ran to her side.
"What's happening to her?!" Erin said.
They soon noticed her grimoire had glowed more violently as it seemed as though the pages had been a lit with white flames.
"Whatever she did-!" Brenin exclaimed before he cried out in agony; they could see the board had started to break apart, "-It's killing her! She can't-Stop it-!"
"Please-" Saorise pleaded as she gasped for air, "-Get her-To wake up-!"
"It hurts-" Liam cried, "-It hurts so much-!"
"What do you mean it's killing her?!" Karasu said, shocked.
"The other incantations didn't do that!" Noelle said.
""What are we supposed to do?" Asta asked.
Prism soon shrieked as she started to kick her legs which made most of them jump; Though Asta was quick to hold her down so she wouldn't hurt herself. "We have to get her to calm down!" Fugeleon said.
"How?!" Asta said, "I don't know if she can hear us while she's like this!"
"I need all of you to think right now!" Fugeleon said to Asta, Karasu, the Triple A's, Noelle and Pluck in particular, "Think carefully! What's one of the things that helps her relax?!"
"What relaxes her!?" Most of them said they were confused.
"We don't know, it's never been this bad before!" Noelle argued, "We don't know how to calm her down!"
"If only there was something-Anything!" Pluck said with worry.
"I thought you were supposed to be her best friend!" Karasu said, "Didn't her parents have a way to calm her down?!"
Pluck had replied, "HOW WOULD-Wait..There's one."
The Triple A's soon looked to one another as it seemed to have hit them. "Zeid's Lullaby!" The three of them exclaimed.
"What?" Asta said.
"Uncle Zeid wrote Prism a lullaby for her!" Aidan said, "He and Aunt Alma always sang it to her if she ever got scared!"
"She sang it to the kids in our village when they got scared from a terrible storm once!" Aine said.
"Then you have to know the words!" Noelle said, "Sing it to her!"
"Don't worry! We remember it!" Aisling said. She soon cleared her throat; She soon went to Prism's side as she shrieked and thrashed hardened then she did before as Asta was having time keeping her still.
It seemed as the words came to her as she took a deep breath.

They could see Prism had frozen as she had been listening to Aisling; Asta could feel that her body had become less tense despite her shaking a little. Aisling soon smiled with relief before she nodded to Aine; Aine soon came by her sister's side as she soon took the reins.

Little by little they could see the black veins had started to disappear, as her growling seemed to have calmed down. When the black veins vanished from her eyes, they could finally hear Prism breathe out a sigh of relief as her eyes had returned to their natural color. Brenin, Saorise and Liam practically gasped for air though in a sense they had been in relief as well.
The Spirits had returned to normal as the grimoire had dropped to the floor, just as the board had finally broken apart; the red glow on the cover had vanished.
"... Pri…?" Asta said as he saw that despite her coming to her senses, her eyes had been bloodshot red.
"Tater Tot?" Karasu said.
As her restraints had been undone Prism just laid on her back just frozen; her face had been expressionless which scared the teens until—
"Ow-!" She suddenly exclaimed as she placed both of her hands on her face, "-My eyes! They hurt so much!"
Most of the teens sighed with relief. "Thank Mana." Aisling said.
"Eyes are burning!" Prism exclaimed, "I mean, it's not as intense as before but-OW!"
"Oh Primrose!" Pluck said as he cried while hugging. "THANK MANA! YOU'RE OKAY!"
"Plu-Plu.." Prism said with a strained voice and a groan. "You're-Crushing me. Also don't yell, my head is still hurting…"
"HEY!" Liam shouted as he pulled him off, "QUIT TRYING TO KILL THE SHORTCAKE YOU MOTHER HEN BASTARD!"
"Oh Sorry." Pluck said as he had his hands up..
"QUACK!" Addeline exclaimed as she hugged Prism's leg. "Quack! Quack Quack!"
"Aww Addi, that's so sweet." Saorise said as her eyes sparkled.
"That's Addi hugging my leg?" Prism said as she squinted, "No offense, but you kind of look like a ball."
Addeline gasped before she said "Quack Quack?"
"No Addi, she's not calling you fat." Brenin said.
"Pri? Are your eyes okay?" Asta asked with worry.
"Yeah, I'm fine-" Prism replied as some of the Spirits floated by her before they started to use their magic to ease the pain, "-It's just a bit blurry. Though my eyes aren't hurting as much like they did in the dungeon. It's not as bad as the headache."
Prism soon started to shriek as Yami had started to pinch her cheeks. "Ow! Ow! That's even worse!" Prism exclaimed.
Yami told her as he did this "That's what you get for making us worry."
"So-Sorry! It's not like I mean too-" Prism started to say before she shrieked, "-DON'T TWIST THE CHEEK! DON'T TWIST THE CHEEK!"
Yami told her with an angry smile on his face, "I can twist it whenever I want."
"GIVE! GIVE! I GIVE!" Prism exclaimed as she tapped on his arm.
"Ooooookay…." Erin said, "... I'm convinced that guy is more like her dad then he is her babysitter."
"Oh good, I thought I was the only one to think that." Blaise said.
"So...now what?" Dylan asked.. "Are we going to be imprisoned or-?"
CLICK-They heard a sound as they each noticed a pair of handcuffs on their wrists; courtesy of Jack as they noticed that he had been done with… Whatever he had been doing to Hywel.
"Ah-" Blaise said, "-I should've seen that coming."
"Welp, once I break out, I'm DEFINITELY coming for the sword bastard and his duck. You still have to pay for what you did to my baby." Erin said as she gave Pluck a glare with Pluck not even fazed; though that didn't stop him from shuddering.
"You're not coming after our Big bro!" Aidan said as he got in front of Pluck.
"Yeah! You're gonna have to go through us first!" Aine added.
Aisling's grimoire came out as her hands sparked with pop rocks. "We're not as weak as you think!"
"Oh just try and stop me! Last I checked it didn't work out for you three" Erin said as she stuck her tongue out. She soon looked over to Karasu as they each had their own awkward look. Erin said with a sigh, "... Looks like you were right, Arai. I-Owe you an apology."
"Me too I guess-" Blaise added as he gave a puff of his cheeks, "-Even though I HATE being wrong as you know."
Karasu's look softened as he let out a sigh, "For the record I'm still pissed at you for kidnapping my friend and for putting me on a rooftop. But-I don't actually blame you entirely. We all know Hywel is just an asshole through and through."
"Damn right." Dylan said, "Glad your Magic Knight friends taught him a lesson for us."
"And-No hard feelings about us calling you an ameataur?" Blaise said.
Karasu had been thinking about it for a moment before he had a smirk on his face, "Apology accepted. It's not like I haven't heard it before, you know? Maybe when you get out, we can work together again, as Magic Knights-Not thieves? They could use good people like you."
"Yeah-That is if they'd welcome people like us." Erin said.
"Just like that?" Noelle asked.
"I won't be present for that." Pluck said as he held Addeline with a pet.
"Quack." Addeline said.
"It's okay, Addi, The scary owl girl won't harm you anymore." Pluck said
"KEKE-I'll take these thieves to the Wizard King-" Jack said, "-I'll see you back at the safehouse." Prism soon jumped as she could feel his eyes had been on her, "Though when I get back you and are going to have a talk!"
"... Are you mad again?" Prism asked worryingly.
Jack had responded, "KEKE-What do you think?"
With that said, Jack soon took the thieves away as all Prism could do was whimper. "Great-" She said as she sniffled, "-I wanted to find a way to apologize to him, but I just got him more mad…"
"Hey it's okay Pri-" Asta said, "-I'm sure you'll think of something."
Noelle's face soon turned red as she had come to realize something as Asta went to comfort Prism. She had looked over her entire outfit and then to his own as she soon realized-Prism had been wearing Asta's jacket.
"The Princess is wearing his jacket!?" Noelle exclaimed in her head as she puffed her cheeks, "Why wear that old thing? For that matter, he's getting way too friendly with her." Her face turned even more red as her head started to steam, "-Wait a second, why am I thinking about that anyway?!"
"Hey, You okay?" Aine asked Noelle before she screeched.
"You know your head his steaming right?" Aidan said.
Noelle suddenly shouted as it made them jump, "FINE! I'M FINE!-" She soon cleared her throat as she said, retaining her composure, "I mean-I'm glad he's alright."
Feodora brushed her hands as they jumped when they noticed her face had been stained with red, "What about these guys?" She said as she gestured to the crowd, "What do we do with them?"
Fugeleon replied, "Don't worry, I'll take care of things from here. Take Primrose back to the capital and treat her and the others for injuries."
"Mr. Fugeleon-" Prism said, as she stepped forward, "-I'm really sorry for causing all of this trouble."
"No-" Karasu soon said, "-I'm the one that should be sorry. I should've said something about the Pack sooner. Maybe none of this wouldn't have happened."
Most of the group looked to Prism and Karasu as they each had their own look of worry.
"Don't be sorry." Fuegelon told them, which shocked them both, "I'm just glad you and your comrade are safe, Primrose."
Pluck sighed as he said "Normally this is the part where I usually say my honest take-BUT, We're glad you're both safe. You nearly worried us to death.."
Prism and Karasu had a look of shock, before they looked at one another.
"What?" Pluck said. "I'm honest but I'm not heartless."
"I know you're not Plu-Plu-" Prism said as she rubbed her eyes, "-But it's still surprising to hear that from you."
"Really? You're not heartless? I'll see it when i Be-" Noelle asked with a look before Pluck used his Gum-Gum Stickler on her face as she shrieked, trying to get the gum off.
"And We're back to this again." Aidan said.
Fugeleon soon told the two of them, "You both have nothing to be ashamed of. Arai, even if you didn't say anything you proved yourself as a Magic Knight today."
"Re-Really?"Karasu asked, "But all I did was cause bad luck, just by-Well being around."
Yami soon gave Karasu's head a smack much to his surprise. "Ow!" Karasu exclaimed as he gave Yami a look.
"Look, Bad Luck or Good Luck, that crap doesn't matter." Yami said "What matters is that you're alive and well-" He soon sighed, "-Can't imagine what wouldn't have happened if your buddy Avalon hadn't convinced you to join the Magic Knights."
Karasu had been taken back by this sort of thing as the teens looked confused. Karasu gave him an odd look, "You-Didn't meet Avalon before until yesterday. How did you know about that?"
Yami didn't reply as he only gave him a look. It took Karasu all but a moment before it seemed to click. "You've met her before-" He said as the gears seemed to have turned in his head, -She never came up with that idea on her own…" He soon had a look of realization, as it all came together, "... You're the one that gave it to her."
"I have to admit. For someone who was young, she was a firecracker." Yami said as he took a puff, "I caught the kid trying to steal some beer. We talked for a little bit and she told me about you." He soon placed his hand on his shoulder, "She told me she was worried about her best friend and his sister, so I gave her an idea on what it was like being in the Magic Knights and suggested it to tell him. Glad she took me seriously."
Karasu looked to be processing this information as the others had been in pure shock by what Yami had just told him.
"Are you telling me-" Karasu said as he gave a quizzical look, "-You baited me into joining?"
Yami gave a puff as he said, "Yeeeep."
Karasu took a moment to process this again, before the others had been taken back when he started to laugh. "God-" Karasu said as he had a smile, "-You're such a terrible Captain."
The group couldn't help but smile at this moment. All except for Noelle and Pluck. "What's going on? Can someone tell me what;s happening?!" Noelle said.
"YOU SERIOUSLY BAITED SOMEONE INTO JOINING YOU?!" Pluck shouted, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!"
"That's my line," Feodora told him.
Yami told Pluck as he gave him a look, "Pluck remove the gum from Noelle."
Pluck could only gave a look before took Noelle as he said "Hold still, you stupid girl." he pulled the gum off her face as she gave a yelp, Pluck's face soon paled as he saw one or rather a couple of strands of Noelle's hair on the sword.
The group couldn't help but look at Noelle with a shocked look. "What?" Noelle asked.
"Uhhh.." Karasu said, as he looked stunned, "...I don't want to alarm you but-Pluck gave you a new haircut."
"What are you-?" Noelle started to say before she felt a breeze as she soon noticed what had been out of place. It had been her bangs as she felt one area before giving a shriek. She turned to Pluck with fire in her eyes. "BARBADOS!"
Pluck let out a meep as he decided to make a run for it with Noelle getting her wand as she began to shoot water from it as she gave chase,
"GET BACK YOU, YOU UNRULY BRASH ARROGANT PESANT!" Noelle shouted.
"ANA LATTA AS ME!" Pluck exclaimed as he ran through Ashtown, which shocked most of the group.
"So-" Asta said, "-Now would be a good time to mention their other people trapped down below."
"We should go help them." Prism added awkwardly.
Yami had said to the two of them, "except you two, go back to the house and rest up. I'll send word to Naotoshi to have him look at the Lizard Girl."
"Huh?" They said in confusion
"But Captain Yami-" Asta said.
"We want to-" Prism started to say
Soon the teens felt their heads grabbed by Yami as they gave a screech.
"Sorry, did I just hear lip?" Yami said with a dark aura coming over him
"OWOWOWOWOW!" Asta exclaimed.
"I don't miss this!" Prism added, "It hurts so much!"
They could hear Pluck shout in the distance as he was fleeing from Noelle's wrath, "HELP, I'M ABOUT TO DIE!"
"GET BACK HERE!" Noelle exclaimed as she hurled a water ball only for Pluck to use his spell to reflect it back at Noelle as she was drenched, though it made see-through. Immediately, Pluck's nose started to gush out blood.
Pluck started to stammer as he tried to speak, "Oh Mana! H-How-W-who-Wha-Oh Jukkette..."
Noelle turned even more red before she shouted, as she covered herself, "DON'T LOOK AT ME YOU FILTHY PERVERTED PEASANT!" A geyser of water soon came out of her wand as it Pluck right in his belly. Pluck choked on his spit before he was sent flying.
"WHY?!" Pluck exclaimed.
"Roll with the fall bro!" Aisling called out, "Roll with the fall!"
Noelle gave a huff as she said "Serves him right-OW!" She saw Addeline whacking her as she let out a series of Angry quacks.
"QUACK!" Addeline exclaimed.
"OH DON'T YOU START WITH ME!" Noelle shouted as she got out her wand.
"QUACK! QUACK QUACK QUACK!" Addeline yelled as she waved her stick.
Before one of them could start anything, Yami had put his foot down-Literally with a bang; the very sound made them both jump before he yelled, "ENOUGH OF YOUR STUPID CAT FIGHT! YOU CAN TRAIN AFTER YOU SAVE THE PRISONERS! NOW GET TO IT!"
Noelle shook as she said "Y-yes sir."
"Qu-Quack.." Addeline added
As the two began to make their way, Pluck was heard screaming as he crashed, just on the edge of Ashtown, before they could hear what sounded to be a squish, which made them all cringe.
They could hear him shout, "OH TRAAKOO! WHY IS THIS EVEN OUT IN THE OPEN!?"
"Oooookay, I'm gonna go help Noelle!" Aidan said as he went in the direction
"Me too!" Aisling added before she followed her brother.
"Welp-I'm gonna clean out my eardrums after hearing that!" Aine said with a forced smile before she followed them.
Feodora sighed as she shook her head, "We got A LOT of work to do-" She soon turned to Asta and Prism, "-You two better do what Yami says, and head on back."
"Are you sure?" Asta asked.
"Don't worry-" Feodora replied, "-I need to take my mind off what just happened."
"What did you and Jack even do to Hywel?" Karasu asked.
Feodora only gave him one look, "You don't want to know."
The Familiars soon went over to Prism's side as they helped her to stand when she almost collapsed again. "Come on-" Brenin said, "-Let's go home."
"O-Okay." Prism replied as she leaned against Brenin. Just when Asta was about to make his way out with Prism and the Familiars-
"I didn't say you three could leave." Yami told the Familiars in particular, as it made them freeze
"Huh?" Brenin said, "You want us to stay?"
"Oi, you asking for a fight?" Liam asked as he bore teeth.
Yami told the three of them, "Listen, we need to talk. Especially about what just happened."
Brenin asked, "You mean-With what occurred just now, or while we were in the cells?"
"The first one." Yami told them. He soon took Prism's grimoire before he tossed it to Asta which he had been quick to catch, "Asta-Make sure the Lizard Girl gets back to the house in one piece."
"Ye-Yes sir!" Asta said as he set her grimoire in place. The Familiars had been hesitant but they each exchanged a look to Yami. "I-Guess we'll see you when we get back home?" Brenin said to Prism awkwardly.
"Ye-Yeah." Prism said with awkward smile as she had turned in the direction of Brenin's voice, "I guess so."
"Just be careful on your way back-" Saorise told her, "-And go straight to bed."
"Don't worry Saorise-" She said, "-After a day like this, I think I would very much like to rest in bed."
Liam soon turned over to Asta, "You better make sure nothing happens to her! Or I'm holding you responsible!"
Asta told him with a reassuring smile, "I won't! Afterall-I made her a promise!" Prism could feel Asta take her hand, as she couldn't help but blush a little. "Do you think you can walk?" He asked her.
"I don't know-" Prism replied, "-I can't really see too well, and the poison doesn't exactly help-Eep!"
She was a bit taken back as she could feel herself being pulled up on Asta's back. Out of instinct she put her arms around his neck. "There we go-" Asta said with a smile, "-Problem solved. Now let's get you home."
Prism took a moment to recover from the shock before she had a smile, as she adjusted his jacket and hood, allowing the spirits to take refuge, before she pulled herself closer to him; letting her head rest on his shoulder,
"I'd like that a lot." Prism said.
Thus-Asta adjusted her on his back slightly they started to venture out of the town while the others had gotten to work. Neither seemed to have minded that the little Devil Donkey, had started to follow behind them, despite his slight hesitation in doing so.
