Today was meant to be my rest day

A day I could lay back and enjoy a dinner date with my little sister who lied to her parents to come and see me

And you know…so far it was going amazing

"Big bro so that car is actually yours!? I thought you were playing a prank on me or something"

I could only sigh. She really was hard to deal with

Once we checked in and sat in our table we ordered some drinks and she wouldn't stop talking

From what she said so far I've managed to catch a couple things. Like the fact that the service club was kept alive by adding more members

And that Yuigahama was pursuing an elementary education degree and the 'gang' were all in their prospective universities pursuing careers

And Yukinoshita is well and getting her business management degree in some prestigious place I can't even name. It's nice to see she's well though

My…the people who took care of me in my childhood had sold the house and rented a two room apartment to save money for traveling and saving money for my sister

"Hey are you two ready to order?" said a waitress snapping me out of my thoughts

"Yes I'll take the fettuccine alfredo and komachi.." I said turning my head to komachi signaling her to order next

"Ill take pasta with garlic and olive oil" Komachi used the japanese translation to pasta aglio e olio. A pretty good dish, we were lucky they had english and japanese translations under the italian dish names

And with that the waitress left with a small bow

"Hey hey hey bro I didnt even ask! How can you afford such a place? Not to mention that…what do you even do?" she asked with a great smile on her face. Eager to know her brothers profession and life so I guess it was time to spill all the good parts

I gave her a smug look, "Well my loving little sister… I'm a co-owner of a private transportation company who use luxury vehicles to drive people around. I also have an apartment near the bay and gave a normal 9-5 so yea boring but a nice life I would say"

She sighs, "then why don't you come home?"

I knew that would come out. It's only natural she would want her brother to come back to her after suddenly leaving like that

I remember my departure from one very clearly

FLASHBACK

"WE TOLD YOU HACHIMAN YOU HAVE TO GO TO COLLEGE! What would the family say?! You think we won't be embarrassed that our only son is deciding to be a failure in life?! What will you become?! A STUPID SHUT-IN HUH IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE?" My father screamed at me inches away from my face. My mother crying behind him trying to calm the situation down

I had just told them I wished to live a calm life, a life without worries, a life with freedom. So I told them inside my room away from ears and eyes of others like Komachi who was luckily away

And they shut it down completely

They screamed and even hit me for my choice. They kept going on and on about me embarrassing them for my choice

They never once worried about me no matter how much I tried to convince them

"B-but please dad! I'm just asking you to keep me until I find a way to live! all I ask is for a couple months!" I screamed back at him only to get pushed back. I just wanted a couple months to find a way to get money without much work. And once I did I would be out of there lives

"…sorry Hachiman but no. We don't want some poor, and soon to be delinquent in our household. I'm asking you nicely to leave my house this instant, you have 10 minutes to pack your things and leave"

"But dad, I don't have anywhere to go!"

"AND? You're not our son anymore Hachiman! FOR I ALL I CARE YOU CAN GO LIVE UNDER A BRIDGE!" He pushed me once more to the ground leaving me wide-eyed and stunned. My heart ached, my father was a man who I very much loved my whole life

And all that just for me to be thrown out to the street with a mere couple thousand yen I had saved up

"GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE!" He screamed at me once more before locking the door behind me leaving me alone as he went downstairs to cry with my mother

I closed my fist and slammed in on the ground

My tears began to form and hit the floor

My friends would soon go on with their lives

Yukino just recently left me

And now my parents abandoned me

That's when I told myself

I would never see them again and build a life for myself far away from them

FLASHBACK OVER

"Sorry Komachi but you know that's not possible" I told her with a hurt smile. I simply couldn't go back, especially not to them

If I ever did go it would be to brag at their fucking faces with all my riches

"It's okay I get it. But please try and visit me at least, after all I came to see you next time return the favor" she replied

Before I could say anything back however our waitress arrived with our food

"Here is your food, please enjoy and let me know if you need anything" she said and quickly gave a small bow but not before putting a small piece of paper on the side of my plate not notice to Komachi

I was left surprised but slowly grabbing it I waited for Komachi to start taking her food pictures I read the note

It went as followed:

"We know who you are boy. Better watch your back when leaving you mafia scum"

I quickly crumbled up the paper and put it in my pocket

Someone somewhere in this restaurant if from the event from Mr. Minamino. Not only that but they think I'm apart of his organization

This is not looking good

"Hey bro you okay you haven't touched your food" Komachi said looking at me slightly worried most likely at my wide eyes and sudden change as I became more tense

"No nothing it's fine Komachi I just need to make a call okay?" I said smiling at her as I pulled out my phone and went through my contacts.

It seems like it was time to cash in on Mr. Minamino's favor

I stood up and sat next to the bar near a camera I saw for extra measures. Putting the phone on my ear the phone rang twice before I heard the old man's voice through the phone

"Hello who's this?"

"It's Hikigaya Mr. Minamino"

"Ahhhh! Hikigaya boy, how have you been son?"

"I've been great sir…but there's a slight problem"

There was a silence before Mr. Minamino answered

"What's wrong son?"

"I'm eating with my sister at an Italian restaurant and I was given a note…they claim to say that I work for you and there after me sir. I'd like to ask you to send someone over to take care of my sister"

"That does seem like a very bad problem. I'll send in a team to escort you and your sister out. For now enjoy the meal and be safe nobody would be stupid enough to kill you inside the place anyways"

"Yea thanks sir"

And with that I hung up. I didn't feel any better though, especially since I was with my sister

I quickly walked back to the table where my sister was eating peacefully

"Everything okay bro?" She asked with a mouth full of food

"Yea yea everything's fine let's eat" I said sitting down slowly and picking up a fork to eat my food. I couldn't keep myself from not looking around

But when i did I couldn't really see anyone standing out

There were a ton of couples, no solo or duo males on site. For all I know anyone could come from behind and put a bullet in my head. The only thing stopping them from doing so were the abundance of cameras with no blind spots to benefit from

Also I didn't have a weapon on me, nor did I have one at all. Guns in Japan were super fucking illegal and only people already committing crime like Hayato had a reason to have one. I had one until now so I was done for if I went outside in a hour or so and a gun was pointed to me

"Bro you still didn't answer one of my questions!"

I heard the voice of my sister ringing in my ears as well as the people in the table around us looking at us with disappointment

"What question?" I asked

"About you having kids" she said looking at me with fire in her eyes. She really thought I would be that mature as to have a wife and kids?

She's dead wrong, "Komachi you're dead wrong. I don't even have a girlfriend"

By the time I said that she had a large grin on her face, one that scared me. She looked like she was about to do something she knew was going to piss me off and she was happy doing it

"Hehe, I can help you with your girlfriend problem! I know this one girl, she's rich, she has an amazing personality and you know her" she said

I didn't like where this was going

"Hold up Komachi don't go playing cupid just yet" I say raising my voice slightly at her trying to get her to stop but she just gave me a hard disappointed look instead

"Big brotherrrrrrr you think you've changed but deep down you're still that chunni who refused to talk to girls and would go on and on about life" She exclaims

"Hey now wai!-" Before I could finish my sentence a person touched my shoulder and my heart dropped. I was a second away from telling Komachi to run but it suddenly whispered in the back of my ear, "I'm here to help. Please walk as if you were leaving without paying" A man spoke to me in very broken japanese

Before doing what I'm told I turn around and face a tall man. He had on a casual black business suit with a black overcoat and had dark brown hair with piercing eyes that shined behind his round shaped glasses. Sensing my doubt he said once more whispering, "Mr. Minamino sent me here to take you to safety so please cooperate"

I did as he asked

"Komachi its time to leave" I said to her

"Thats fine but bro who was that? And aren't we gonna pay?"

"Oh he's a co-worker of mine he just came to say hello without bothering you" I said ignoring her second question

Komachi and I grabbed our stuff and proceeded to make our way to the door without looking back

Surprisingly nobody stopped us. Our car was even parked in front of the establishment already on and waiting for us

"Lady's first" I gestured to Komachi and opened the door, getting inside the vehicle a little too urgently. Maybe even making her suspect of something but that mattered not

"Leaving so soon?" A smooth voice, one I knew

It was the waitress from the restaurant

"Uh-...Yea its getting late and I'm running out of sunlight to enjoy the day" I say to her trying to gain my bearings

She smiles and reaches for her breast, I was so stunned by her sudden action that I couldnt even utter a word when she pulled a small caliber revolver and pointed it at me

"You were looking at it all wrong Hikigaya" She said in a calm voice

"HACHIMAN!" I heard the voice of my sister crying for me

I guess this was it huh

Didn't even get the chance to go anything in life

Just a sad loner with zero accomplishments in life

I closed my eyes and heard the two shots fired. I waited for my eyes to meet white but instead I was untouched. Slowly opening my eyes I saw that the women in question was on the ground dead from two bullet holes very noticle on her skull

She fell lifless on the concrete sidewalk in a thud

"Let's go Mr. Hikigaya" I quickly turned around. My heart was racing and I was sweating like I had just run a marathon

It was the blonde man who saved my life

"Its okay Mr. Hikigaya don't worry about cameras or people I took care of that"

I wanted to ask so many questions but all I could do was walk to the car and get in the driver's seat with the door open and the man next to me

"Ca- can I at least ask for the name of the man who saved my life?"

"Its Henry Tomasino sir. I'm sure we'll see each other soon"

And with that I left the area as fast as I could

The drive was quiet

Komachi did not utter a word

"Komachi I don't know what to say to you but there's bad people after me who believe I did them wrong but in no way am I involved in these things…Okay? I said turning to her. She had her head facing away from me, a little thing we did when we were mad at each other and would face away from each other on car rides

"Please Komachi believe me!" I scream. She finally turns around with tears falling from her eyes

"Be quiet lets go home"

I did so

But I couldn't take her to my home in fear that my life and Komachis would be taken so instead I drove to a hotel owned by my boss. A 4 star hotel I'm sure would be a safeplace of now

"I'll tell you everything okay Komachi?" I turn to her but no reaction

This was going to be a long night

Sorry for the delay I've been busy with school (Yes I still have school in the summer) and work so I kinda just pushed it aside and wrote it whenever I could like at nights or breaks

We finally get to see some action again! Next chapter will definitely be more calm and wrapping things up with komachi. Next I would like to dive into Hachiman joining the criminal underworld with a large bang!

...for an idea on future chapters think Mafia 2 and the Peaky Blinders in which will come most of the inspiration for the fanfic

Any criticism and suggestions would be amazing since I am new to this scene

Oh and also regarding pairing I have absolutely no idea but I think most likely Haruno or the 'new' girl Komachi wanted to introduce and Ill bring in a OC similar to someone like Shizuka-sensei
