"Embrace"

My heart was clouded by a veil of hazy mist

Because I foolishly chose to resist

And no matter how much they continued to insist

Their seemingly futile persistence couldn't overcome my stubbornness

For if I ever allowed these tears to fall

It means I would acknowledge it all

"Never give up, never give in

Don't deny, never lie

Warmly embrace what you truly feel inside

Your feelings are pure, human and right

They shine from within you

So spread your wings and soar into the sky."

These are the words you softly whispered to me

Before you gently pushed my forward

And I witnessed in the blink of an eye

That your encouraging smile made it all so worthwhile

Fortunately I realised in the nick of time

That I lost way too much back then

When I couldn't sing at all

So I'll raise my voice

For I have no choice

'Cause until my last breath

I'll live to sing

But even though I finally allowed these painful tears to fall

And slowly but surely acknowledge it all

I wish these tears could bring you back to me…
