I hoped you liked the last chapter readers. In this one we'll be focusing more on the two of three main characters, Videl Satan, and Tien Shinhan. I've read numerous fan fictions, and the only time most focus on her is when she's in a romance with Gohan. So, I'll be showing her fiery personality that most DBZ fans fell in love with. Hope you guys like the chapter.
Young Justice Earth New York
Tien had been flying for minutes now, soon landing in a city with numerous tall buildings and a large populace. Using his ki to sense if there were anyone around, he slowed in the dead of night. Seeing a harbor with abandoned warehouses with no power levels around, he landed in one from a rooftop opening, setting Videl down.
Looking around he noticed the warehouse had two levels, the ceiling was tall, multiple stairs leading up and a length about 3/4rths the length of a football field. 'This will do.' Looking down at Videl he extended his arm towards her with his palm opened, shooting ki into her to heal and hopefully wake her up from their time in the rift.
For a few seconds she lay still. Suddenly, Videl shot up, "What? Where am I!?" she said confused, looking around in a daze, until her eyes landed on Tien, "Oh thank Kami."
Tien looked at Videl with a relieved expression. But it quickly turned stoic, knowing that Videl may not take this new world with the brightest optimism.
"Well, it seems that we're on Earth, but not… not our Earth," Tien explained, with his words Videl looked at him like he grew a fourth eye.
Videl's face immediately bore a look of confusion "How do you know that?"
"When we escaped the rift, I tried to sense for any of our friends, but I sensed numerous other ki signatures that felt nothing like the ones I recognized. Plus, there were high power levels that I've never felt before and other power levels that didn't even feel human."
"So, we're in another world! But we just got done with that nightmare Majin Buu! I didn't even get to see Gohan, or my Dad, how are we supposed to get back!?" she ranted, grabbing at her hair.
"I know Videl, but until our friends find us or we find a way to them we're stuck for the time here for now. We seem to be in a large city. We can hopefully look for a library and get some information from there, okay?" Tien assured Videl who nodded slowly, getting up she flew with Tien out of the warehouse and landed outside.
Looking at a large sign below that was an entrance to the abandoned warehouse, they read, New York's warehouses. Flying into a barren alley blocks away they quickly landed, the alley leading to the streets.
Looking around they noticed the people were wearing clothes and driving cars similar to their own world, though the technology seemed to be years behind as they didn't have any cars that flew and the architecture looked different, as instead of dome shaped houses they noticed they were rectangular.
Tien looked around, noticing the attire of this Earth's humans. Not wanting to draw attention to himself he placed a hand on his chest, using a modified version of Piccolo's Clothes Beam technique. His clothes changed to gray jeans, a form fitting short sleeved blue shirt, black shoes, and a hat to hide his third eye.
Videl looked over at him before rolling her eyes, 'I shouldn't even be surprised anymore,' thought Videl.
Walking into the library they asked the librarian about the history and geography section. They were shocked to see a completely different geography and history from their world.
There were no dinosaurs, anthropomorphic people, or any mention of ki, except for references to it in the Asian cultures. Not only that, but there were apparently aliens, monsters, and humans that were like something out of a comic book.
All over the world there were superheroes and villains, who fought each other on a regular basis, 'These heroes and villains must have been the numerous high ki signatures I sensed earlier. Some of them I could beat quite easily but others may be able to even fight Goku or Vegeta.'
"Wow, so these are just like Gohan as Saiyaman, though some of their costumes actually look cool. Hey maybe we could become superheroes, I could be your partner, but we'd need a name. Oh, how about Crane Master an–" Videl said, but Tien cut her off.
"No Videl, we can fight crime from the shadows, but this isn't our Earth, your father isn't here to take away the spotlight, not to mention we have no idea how the government will respond to us, or how the super powered groups will want to take advantage of us. I'd obviously rather deal with the heroes instead of villains, but we can't take that chance. Which is why I'm going to be taking over your training in learning how to further use and focus your ki. You're already experienced in martial arts, so there won't be any help on that except advice. Luckily, before the whole Buu fiasco Bulma gave me and the others gravity chambers to train in. We can use the food inside for a while," Tien explained.
"Fine, but we still need to come up with codenames for each other on our stakeouts, how about," she snapped her fingers, "Crane and Horizon."
Later That Night
Flying back into the warehouse with Videl, Tien pulled out a capsule from his pocket, pressing it then throwing to the ground, the signature puff of smoke that came, revealing a gravity chamber like Vegeta's when he trained for the androids.
Walking inside, Videl looked around at the metal interior and red floor. Tien walked up to the console, "Okay Videl these are the controls for the settings of gravity. This chamber can go up to four hundred times gravity. There are also fighting bots to practice your speed, reflexes, and agility. First, I'll get you used to ten times gravity. It'll take a while, but once you get used to that, higher gravities should become easier with experience, but I have to warn you Videl, this training is going to be intense."
Videl looked at him with determination, "Bring it on," and the gravity turned on.
One Month Later
"Hyah!" Videl shouted, sweat coming off of her like a fountain, as she sent punches faster than any normal human, she had been training intensely with Tien who was sparring with her, though he barely looked winded as she sent every combination of attacks she knew. Going as far to back up and fire a Dodon Ray into his chest. He held out his hand, catching it in his palm. While he caught it she sent a ki blast at him that she willed to explode before contact, creating a smoke screen and using it as cover to launch an energy wave.
Going past the smoke screen it exploded with tremendous force against the gravity chambers walls. When the smoke cleared, she didn't see Tien, just scorched tiles. She turned around, knowing he was there.
He looked at her with a smirk, "Wow, Videl I'm impressed, you've made great progress in such a short time."
She smiled, it was true, her power level had increased by leaps and bounds as she was still getting used to ten times gravity, at first, she could barely take a step, but after constant days of training and a few breaks from it to fight crime with Tien she was now able to move freely with moderate effort. It also helped that Tien made her meditate for hours after gravity training along with image training to increase her ki reserves.
Tien has been helping hide their identities by using the Clothes Beam to make them both a black gi with hoods and face masks. They had decided to use the code names Crane and Horizon.
Lately, they have been taking down dealers who were distributing a substance called venom that boosted one's muscle mass to inhuman levels increasing their strength. After one of their busts, she had gained information.
Five Days Ago
The sound of guns being roared as they were aimed at Videl who casually dodged them. Appearing in front of one of the gunmen she shot her leg out forward into his gut launching him back, slamming him into the wall behind him, she took only a second to do this, but this caused the other gunmen to smirk as he aimed his gun at her firing.
Only for it to turn to horror as her hands blurred, grabbing every bullet aimed for her. "What are you, some new hero!?"
Something like that," she said before casually punching the man into next week. Looking behind her she saw the main dealer trembling.
Calmly walking up to him she grabbed him by the collar and lifted him off the ground, "Wait, wait!" he shouted, "We can cut a deal, you want the venom, right? I'll give it to you if you let me live!"
"How about another deal? You tell me where the other shipments of the venom are and I only give you a mild concussion," Videl said with a smile under her mask.
"Okay, okay! There's a big shipment of venom being distributed near the docks in five days, midnight!" shouted the dealer.
"Thank you," Videl said before sending a right hook knocking him out. Off in the distance she started to hear police sirens.
Videl floated into the air, 'That's my cue.'
Present
Walking out of the gravity chamber later in the day, Videl put on her black outfit. While Tien put his on to go help her with taking down the shipment. They had already planned to take out the gunmen first then destroy the shipment of venom. Piece of cake.
Flying onto the roof of a building near it they noticed dozens of men standing armed. Some in different areas to patrol.
"Just like we planned, Videl," Tien said.
"Right," Tien nodded to the agreement, before they floated down to the ground.
Videl landed a few feet behind a gunman, kicking at the back of his knee, jumping from the kick, she then used her flight to kick him once again in the head. All before he made a sound.
Speeding towards another, she jumped and kicked him in the head, dropping him. She sensed Tien's ki, finding he had already taken down over a dozen men. She suddenly heard a radio call from the first man she took down.
"Hey, Jack, you there?"
She looked alarmed before her eyes steeled in her decision, "Screw it," Videl said before shooting a ki blast at the radio. Near the shipments the man that called for Jack gave a warning for the others to start moving around to find any other men.
Videl was about to move forward, if a large fist hadn't punched through the crates near her. Grabbing her by the face and throwing her into the ground, cracking it.
Videl gets up looking at the man who threw her. It was a monster of a man, at 6 feet 8 inches with a white, black mask, and bulging muscles from venom, stood Bane. One of the villains of this world and enemy of the Dark Knight
"Well look at this, a little girl has been taking out my shipments, I'm going to enjoy breaking you, I'm tired of children ruining my business," threatened Bane.
Videl looked at him with a smirk under her mask, "The only one being broken tonight is you, big guy."
Flying towards him she punched at his face only for him to catch it with a heavy grunt, "Grngh, you're stronger than you look, chica."
"Don't worry, I've still got more," Videl quipped.
After quickly taking out another man with a simple neck chop. Tien heard a loud crash, he looked over seeing a large man towering over Videl, though his fears calmed as he sensed that Videl's power was significantly above the man's, who he recognized as Bane.
Moving forward quickly he was suddenly caught off guard as a woman, with a strange appearance, came in front of him. Recognizing her he made a move to incapacitate her, but vines shot out from the ground, wrapping themselves around him.
He was about to expand his ki to destroy them, but she raised her hand and blew a purple dust into his face. In seconds he could no longer feel his body, as if his mind felt like an audience in a theater, no longer a threat to her, the woman willed the vines to let him go.
The woman smirked, "Now, my puppet, go and attack that girl for me, won't you."
Videl has been dodging Banes punches and grapples until he overextended himself. Jumping up then using his arm as a pivot she twisted her lower body hitting him in the face with both legs. He stumbled back stunned for a moment, enough time for her to shoot a ki blast at the tube pumping venom into his body.
His body soon lost its inhuman muscle mass as he kneeled on the ground, but a smile grew on his face, "Heh, ha ha!" Bane laughed.
"What's so funny?" Videl questioned.
"Why, just the look you're about to have on your face," laughed Bane.
"From wha-ah!?" she gasped as a ki blast hit her in the back sending her to the ground. Looking behind her she saw Tien facing her with his arm extended. "Ti-Crane what are you doing!?"
"Oh, just what he's been ordered, dear," said a sultry, feminine voice. From behind Tien came a beautiful, red haired woman with green skin and leaves covering her body like clothing, walked Poison Ivy.
Bane crossed his arms, "If you really believed we wouldn't know some new heroes were stopping our deals. You haven't been doing this long enough."
"All I had to do was blow a kiss with my pheromones, and now he's under my control. Now," pointing at Videl, Poison Ivy ordered, "Kill her."
Tien zoomed towards Videl, but she was able to dodge the charge just barely. Tien turned, racing towards her again engaging in a melee.
Videl dodged as best she could, but she was still hit by at least a dozen punches and kicks. She tried to counter some of his attacks, but he was too fast and soon she started to cough blood.
Flipping away, she tried to reach out to Tien, "Crane, please it's me, you have to fight."
He visibly slowed shaking his head, but in his mind a different battle was being fought in his mind.
Vines of immense strength and numbers were wrapping mentally around Tien in his head. Having to watch his own body fight Videl, 'No, I will not be controlled! I'm no puppet!' but as he fought Ivy's control a large vine under Videl shot out from the ground trying to ensnare her.
Flying into the air she quickly avoided the vine but was distracted by the bullets firing from the gunmen below. She quickly blasted them, scattering them all. Flying again to the ground she used the crates as cover while she lowered her ki. Some gunmen and Tien started to look for her, while the others loaded the shipments into two vans.
Drawing in deep breaths, she slowed, 'Okay, Videl. Think!' she thought, moving behind a large crate, 'Tien is under her control, if I take too long the shipments will be transported, I've got several minutes at best.'
'I can't take on Tien, but if I take out Poison Ivy, maybe her control will disappear, I'll need to cause a distraction,' looking at the vans, Videl found her distraction.
The rest of them were focused on looking through the maze of crates and hadn't found her location.
Seeing her chance, Videl raised her hand and ki for a moment, shooting an energy wave at one of the vans, causing it and the venom to be destroyed in an explosion. She quickly moved, lowering her ki again.
Poison Ivy had turned her head towards the explosion. Videl quickly made her way towards her launching a forward kick, but Ivy heard her coming and willed the plants below them to ensnare her. She would have gotten out of them if not for two hands to grab her neck from behind and start choking her, 'No!' thought Videl.
Thinking the girl was as good as dead, Ivy ran with Bane into another van. Quickly driving away, the other vans scattered.
She looked behind her to find Tien, who had appeared behind her as the vines held her, his eyes had a look of confusion as he still fought Poison Ivy's control.
"Tien, plea-please, our friends are waiting for us. Chiaotzu i-is waiting for you," Videl said as her body slowly started to slack, as her eyes rolled to the back of her eyes.
This seemed to finally reach him as his eyes showed great distress.
'Noo! I am no slave! I am a warrior!' Tien's mind was finally freed, as he flared his ki around in his mind destroying the mental vines entangling him. Putting him back in control of his body. He let go of Videl's throat. Sending small ki beams into the vines holding her.
He caught her as she coughed, breathing for air. When she managed to catch her breath, she stood up, rubbing her throat. "We still have to catch those vans," she rasped.
"Right, and Videl... thank you, I'll go and deal with Ivy and Bane," Tien said, his back towards her.
She smiled under the mask, "No problem."
He lifted into the air taking after the van. Videl glances at him leaving, but knowing she had a job of her own she flew after the other. She quickly caught up with them, looking down and dodging gunfire, as two men were firing at her from the back of the van.
She shot a blast near the van, making it stumble, throwing the gunman off balance. She zoomed lower flying straight into the van and into a gunman's gut then threw him out onto the street. The gunman behind her tried hitting the butt of his gun onto her skull. But she sidestepped the blow and threw a right hook into his jaw, breaking it.
Throwing him out the van, she focused on the driver. Who… promptly threw himself out of the car.
"Heh, at least someone's smart."
Flying out of the van she launched a wave of ki at it, destroying it with the shipment inside. She landed on the street, seeing numerous flashes suddenly catching her eye. Looking to her sides she noticed people taking pictures and recording her, but she ignored them.
She floated in the air for a second before sensing Tien's large ki several miles away. She flew over at subsonic speeds. Landing at the site, Tien had handled the van, it roared in flames some distance away. Bane was on the ground, his clothes in tears and face nearly unrecognizable while Ivy stood a dozen feet in front of Tien. She tried to blow pheromones into his face again, but he released a kaia wave blowing it away.
"Wait, I was just helping him to one day use the venom to strengthen my plants, I wasn't actually trying to ki-ugh!" with a swift punch to the gut he knocked her unconscious.
Videl heard the familiar sound of sirens once again, "Tien, we have to go. The police will be here soon."
"Right."
Batcave
"Today in New York, two vigilantes have been sweeping up crime these past weeks. Tonight, they have stopped the criminals, Bane and Poison Ivy along with others," Bane's bruised face and Ivy's came on screen, "It also seems that shipments of venom were in the vans which have been destroyed by the vigilantes, we've confirmed by the criminals they go by Crane and Horizon. Are they new heroes, or were they looking for their own cut of the shipment."
Batman watched the newsfeed in thought, Green Lantern used his ring to scan the traces of energy found a month earlier and had so far come up with nothing else.
'These two vigilantes came up just days after the energy traces appeared. This can't be a coincidence,' Batman thought.
Robin looked over at Batman, "I know that look, you never know Bruce, I mean if they're going after criminals, they may be new heroes," Robin tried to assure.
Batman put the thought in his mind, but the man had to think of every scenario, "We can never be too sure, Robin."
Using his comms he contacted Green Lantern, "Hal, we're going to New York, I think I know who created those energy tracings a month ago."
Hal Jordan got out of bed with a groan, "Urgh, okay Bats, just let me get my ring."
Dragon Ball Earth
Goku walked into Capsule Corp. Quickly looking for Bulma. He had been contacted by Trunks who had been worried about his mother's health. She had been in her lab working on turning the time machine into a universe machine for a month straight.
"Bulma! You here!?" he heard sparks fly, as he looked to his far left to see Bulma in her lab coat, using a welding torch and welding mask on a ladder to put higher grade armor on the newly named dimension traveling machine, or D.T.M for short.
"Huh? Oh Goku!" Bulma said.
"Hey Bulma, I was hoping to talk to you," Goku said with a wave.
She hopped down from the ladder, "Sorry, but I'm busy building the DTM."
Goku looked worried, "I know Bulma, but you've been busy for a while, you need to take a break, even I do that when I train."
Bulma finally took off her mask, showing dark circles under her eyes and ragged hair, with bloodshot eyes. "I can't Goku. Vegeta, Tien, and Videl are still out there somewhere."
Goku put a hand on her shoulder in comfort, "Bulma, if you were doing this for me, I'd want you to get some rest too, just take a break for a day or two, okay?"
"Sigh, Okay, Goku I'll rest," she said, walking to her bed.
"Good, don't worry Bulma, we will find them," he said with his trademark smile. Though he wasn't just saying that to her, but to himself as well.
Well, that's the end of chapter 2! Now if you're wondering why Poison Ivy was able to control Tien, it's been shown in the comics that she was able to use her pheromones to even control Superman though she needs kryptonite, someone with an incredibly resistant physiology compared to humans, she even took over the world controlling the entire Justice League except Batman in Batman 2016 #42. Come back in a week or so, to catch up on the life of our favorite Prince. Also if you're wondering why Videl didn't immediately take out Bane, she was just holding back so she wouldn't kill him, stay safe and Thank you for reading Human Ambition!
