Hey guys sorry for the late update, but I've finally came up with a schedule for chapters. I'll try to update every 2 weeks until school begins again. After that I'll try to update at least once or twice a month.

For people asking who I'm going to pair with Videl it'll be a surprise, but for those thinking it's Robin that's a big no! Robin is 13 years old while Videl is turning 18, so that's not happening. As for Dragon Ball Earth, you guys will have to wait for the right chapter to cover on them, but if you still want Videl to be with Gohan in the end, reply in the reviews.

Have a good read and stay safe!

Young Justice…

"We can't do anything for him now…"

"Artemis!..."

"They need you more than me! Go!..."

"No, he's gone…"

"Take Martian Manhunter and go…"

"Don't…don't tell me the mission was a success. The price was too high," Miss Martian said to Martian Manhunter thinking it was over. The mothership that had taken her friends' lives, the lives of the Justice League, and the millions of others around the world was destroyed.

Earlier that day. An alien mothership descended upon the Earth. It showed no mercy… no discrimination. Old, young, rich, poor, good, or evil. It killed all of the heroes protecting the planet. Young Justice was the last line of defense, and they saved the day, but not without cost.

Each of her friends...her family laid down their lives to save Earth. The first to pass was Artemis, then Aqualad, Superboy, Kid Flash, and finally Robin.

Leaving only Miss Martian and Manhunter, the last heroes left of Earth.

But just as she bowed her head a shadow loomed over her. Her eyes widened and she walked forward, her hands reaching out, hopelessness overcoming her entire being as another mothership descended from the sky. Quickly turning around she turned to her uncle, "No, no, noo, no. We have to get out of here, now," she said to her uncle.

He calmly looked at her, "No, we have to end this now," he said, walking up to Miss Martian. He put a hand on her shoulder and punched her in the chest hard enough to impale her, sending a wave of shock through her body, with tears falling from her eyes. So shaken she was not able to even let out a scream.

Suddenly, M'gann 's eyes opened with a gasp. Looking up she noticed her friends around, sitting up, groaning, and sweating as they sat up or tried to stand, Red Tornado helped Artemis while Shazam assisted Wally with Wolf moving over to comfort Connor. "You're all alive!" she said with a smile, seeing her friends.

To the side, Batman came to Manhunter's aid to help him stand, "What happened in there?" he asked him.

The Martian put a hand on his head to calm his throbbing headache, "The exercise, it all went wrong."

Robin sat up, being helped by Videl, "Exercise?" he said in a confused tone.

Batman looked over at them all, "Try to remember. What you experienced was a training exercise. Manhunter psychically linked the six of you within an artificial reality, you all knew this going in. What you didn't know was that it was a train for failure exercise. No matter what the Team accomplished the scenario was designed to grow worse. Still, you were aware nothing was real, including the deaths of the entire Justice League," he explained.

Manhunter took over to tell the rest, "That is why you hardly grieved, even when your mentors were disintegrated, but all that changed… when Artemis died. Though consciously Miss Martian knew it was not real, her subconscious could not make that distinction. She forgot it was only an exercise, and her subconscious took control, making all of you forget too."

M'gann looked at each of her friends with guilt, "Uh, I… I'm so sorry," she said, wrapping her arms around herself.

"This isn't her fault. Why didn't you stop the exercise!" shouted Conner, causing Manhunter to further explain.

"We tried, but M'gann had a death grip on the scenario. Even Artemis who should have awakened from her death was so convinced she had passed she slipped into a coma. I realized I would have to wrestle control from Miss Martian subconscious from within, but upon entering the reality I was overwhelmed by your collective emotion. There was too much… noise to think clearly, to remember why I was there. The deaths of Aqualad and Superboy helped, but it was only when the mothership exploded, and Kid Flash and Robin were silenced did I remember my true purpose. To shock M'gann out of the exercise before your comas' became permanent.

Manhunter took another breath, "My apologies, I had no idea a training exercise could be so dangerous…so damaging," again, Manhunter attempted to walk, but nearly collapsed if not for the support of Batman and Red Tornado.

Batman whispered to the Martian, "As bad as all that."

"Perhaps worse," Manhunter replied back.

"Yet this is not what troubles you?" questioned Red Tornado.

Manhunter now stood tall, his mind clearing, "My niece is untrained, she should not be blamed for this… for our debacle."

"Don't worry," Batman said. "We understand that it wasn't her fault, we underestimated her."

"By an ocean margin. Out of all the telepaths I've fared against, she has the most raw power of any I have encountered," Manhunter exclaimed. M'gann started to cry, now knowing that she was the cause of her Teams' traumatic nightmare. Shazam and Connor walked up to her, giving her comfort.

Videl looked towards Robin putting a hand on his shoulder with a sad smile on her face, "Don't worry, Robin. I have a feeling I get what you went through. More than you know," she said. She noticed Robin freeze at her words. He looked at her, or at least seemingly looked through her before he looked towards the ground, his emotions swimming.

Videl herself looked to the ground. Her own nightmare against Majin Buu surfacing as she knew all too well what they had gone through. The fact that no matter what they did… it was useless.

Seven Days Later…

The Team occupied the kitchen. None of them saying a word, their eyes downcast as they still dealt with the experience from the week prior still fresh in their minds.

But something deeper was going through their minds, the experience and their actions in the simulation was one thing that kept playing through their psyche.

Watching them through the cameras in the mission room stood Manhunter, Shazam, and Red Tornado. They turned around hearing the Zeta Tube activate, signaling Batman's arrival.

"How are they?" he asked.

Manhunter looked towards Batman, "I am still shaken by what I witnessed. One can only imagine how these youths fare," he said gesturing back towards the screens showing the Team.

"I know that our virtual reality simulation went badly, but I had hoped the Team would have rallied by now," Batman said with a glance at the screens.

Manhunter and Shazam raised a brow at seeing Batman's nonchalance with the emotional trauma caused by the simulation. "Trauma tends to linger as I know you know," Manhunter said.

"Black Canary and Horizon?" Batman said, referring to the Team's training instructor, psychologist, and their new could-be teammate.

"She has her work cut out for her, trying to help the others in their trauma. Horizon's mood has soured as well. It seems she had gone through a situation similar to what they experienced. She has been coming around during the evening," said the Martian. "For now, it's best that we give them time, it seems even scars from Horizon's past have caught up to her as well."

Inside of a room sat Black Canary and Connor. The former was looking at the Boy of Steel with sympathy. Black Canary had for the past several days talked to each member of the Team. While it was slow, they opened up more and more every day, but Connor was as hard to break as his skin.

"I can only imagine how devastating it was to lose each member of your team, essentially your family. Convinced that all of it was completely real. That must have been horrible for you," she said softly pausing for if Superboy said anything, but he stayed silent.

His head and eyes down as he leaned forward. "I get it, you're Superboy. You're not supposed to have feelings of vulnerability or sadne-"

"You don't know what I feel!" he said, standing up with a glare and walking out of the room.

"Connor!" she exclaimed, but didn't stand to bring him back, knowing it had to be his choice to talk.

Metropolis

It was a normal Wednesday evening in Metropolis Park. Well as normal as it could be in a world full of superheroes and villains. People were walking or running up the park's trails to benefit their health. An elderly woman was feeding the birds with her granddaughter. Some yards away was a young couple out on a picnic feeding each other slices of a small cheesecake the man had brought as a surprise from the local bakery.

Suddenly a large boom rang throughout the park as a boom-tube opened. Coming out of it was what looked like a futuristic… car? Flying through the air like a jet it turned towards the sky and reached heights far beyond any building.

Inside the flying craft were five mysterious individuals, but to those who had heard tales of their exploits they were known as the Forever People. After reaching a high altitude they started to speak a language unknown to anyone on Earth. One of them pulled out a strange device, a small rectangular box with strange markings decorating it, and it rang with a strange ping. Suddenly they were speaking English as well as someone who spoke it their entire lives.

"Ishtar zarnak tr-when do we see some cowboys!?" said the smallest of the group.

"Your infatuation with the barbarians will have to wait, Serifan," said the one with dark skin.

They all had strange clothing. The woman of the group wore a pink dress attire, black leggings and pink boots. The one who asked about the cowboys was dressed in an attire similar to one from the old west. In the back left was black haired man with a blue and black bodysuit with a red sash and headdress.

The one with dark skin wore blue armor with a helmet with green markings on them. In the front was the tallest one there. A large man with wild red hair with a fur vest, and a large frame to go with him.

"Motherbox, search the planet and advise," he told the device in his hand. Letting out pings only the five of them could understand they heard it tell them it's findings.

"The New Genesphere is here on Earth!" the one in pink said.

"Then we will find her and liberate her from whatever captors are keeping her there!" shouted the large man in the front. "And woe to any who stands in our way," he threatened.

Artemis's Session

"I was the first to go," said Artemis to Black Canary. "Coma girl, 101, but I didn't really get to live to see the whole experience of the world ending… so I don't need the therapy talk," she said her body closed off.

"So, you're too tough to need help?" Canary asked.

"In my family, asking for help is not an option," Artemis said offhandedly. She knew partially in the end it was her own fault. Her weakness led the Team to experience the horrors of being weak...useless no matter what they did in the end, she had felt it before.

When she couldn't stop a certain Cheshire cat.

"There's nothing wrong with asking for help, Artemis, it doesn't mean you're weak. Maybe if you open up to the Team about your past. I think the first step is to tell them you're not actually Green Arrow's niece, and then tell them the other info later down the line. They're your team, Artemis. They'll trust you; I know they will," Canary said.

"Heh, yeah right. Can you imagine what Wally would do with that if he found out about my past?" she said with fake mirth.

"I see…so the person you're most worried about… is Wally," Artemis tensed further before letting out a breath as she looked down.

Black Canary looked at the young archer with a soft smile. Finally able to break further through that tough exterior more than the day before.

Conner was pissed. He didn't need to be brought to a shrink to discuss his feelings. Feelings he even knew he wanted in the first place; feelings that may have simply been forced into his being… his entire creation. He needed to go out.

Walking towards his motorcycle he drove to the ramp of the cave. "Red Tornado: Hangar Door." The hangar door followed the order, lowering itself.

Just as he was about to accelerate, Sphere rolled in front of the bike alongside Wolf. "Rrrhvv, rrvvr, vvr," Sphere let out, sounding like an engine. Seemingly trying to tell him something.

"Get out of the way, Sphere!" he said, gesturing to move with his arm. Sphere let out a few revs. Suddenly, Sphere folded in on itself. Its' shape changed and expanded to reveal what seemed to be a futuristic multi seated motorcycle.

Wolf and Conner looked at this new...Super Cycle, with bulging eyes, "Okaaay?"

Seconds later, Conner and Wolf sat in Sphere. Starting it, they went up the ramp of the hangar and soared into the sky, "Woah!" Conner exclaimed, surprised Sphere was capable of flight.

Batman and Horizon chased after them hearing the strange engine. He didn't reach them in time, losing the three from his sights, "Horizon, go after them. Make sure Superboy doesn't do anything reckless," he said.

"No promises," she said with a cheeky smile lifting off the ground and following Superboy. She thought of staying out of his sight but thought against going with the old direct approach.

She had to admit that the new vehicle Superboy had was fast, but with a further boost of energy she caught up to them in moments, "Hey," she greeted.

Superboy looked to his right. "Sigh, hey, Horizon. Here to bring me back to therapy, huh?" he said with a defeated look.

"No, in fact I know what you guys went through," she said.

"Oh yeah, do you know what it's like to see everything you love die!" he shouted, his anger rising.

"Yes," she said, making him look at her in surprise. "But unlike you, it wasn't a simulation. Everyone I cared about died, including myself, but unlike you I didn't save any lives, didn't sacrifice myself for the greater good in a last stand. I was completely useless from beginning to end," she said with a forlorn look in her eyes.

Conner looked at her with regret, "I'm sorry. I didn't know…that you could know what it's like. To lose everything," he said softly.

"Don't worry, Superboy. In the end it's your choice to go back. Plus, I think it's best we get some fresh air, I don't need Batman breathing down my neck. Maybe we can see how fast she can fly," she said, gesturing to Sphere's new form.

"She?" he asked.

"Duh, your ride is always a she," Horizon said with a playful look in her eyes. Sphere revved, almost as if it was confirming the statement.

The two raced for several minutes afterwards, or at least, Sphere and Horizon raced. After a spin in the air from Sphere. Horizon stopped flying sensing something coming their way. Seconds later, a flying car stopped a dozen feet in front of them in the air. They looked at the occupants, seeing five people with strange attire.

"I will say this once, give the New Genesphere you have enslaved humans, or face the might of the Forever People," said the one in green, most likely the leader.

Superboy grew confused and decided to question them, "What, who are y–"

"Let's keep this simple!" interrupted the one with the large frame pointing at Sphere. "That belongs to us. Give. It. Back," he threatened. Wolf growled teeth bared.

"Why don't you make us," Videl challenged, her hands starting to glow with ki.

Before a fight ensued the box in the leader's hand let out pings that it translated from Sphere's own. The leader stood putting his arms out to signal they would cease. "Forever People, stand down! They did not steal the New Genesphere. They rescued it from the real thieves!"

The one who threatened them adorned a look of embarrassment and guilt, but it quickly changed into a smile. "Apologies, the Forever People welcome you as allies, friends, and worthy warriors!"

"Alright?" said Superboy.

Kaldur's Session

"I am not fit to be the leader of this team. I was a general, but behaved like a soldier," Aqualad said with remorse in his voice. He heard the aftermath of his death in the simulation, knowing the burden he placed on Robin's shoulders as they became the last line of defense.

"That's not true Kaldur, it was because of your sacrifice that the Team were able to survive long enough to escape the simulation. If it had not been for your leadership, your comas may have been permanent," Canary tried to assure him.

"If it hadn't been for my leadership then Robin wouldn't have taken on the role of leader in the first place," Kaldur said.

"Who do you recommend?" she asked.

"Wally is too rash and impulsive. Artemis is too raw and untrusting. Superboy's anger blinds him. M'gann is too willing to please. We barely know anything about Horizon and she seems a little hard-headed."

Canary listened, coming to his conclusion on her own, "So Robin is the best choice?"

"Yes, but Robin is too young to carry these responsibilities yet," he said, still looking at the floor beneath. Not able to look Canary in the eyes.

"Kaldur, you're all too young."

"I know…so it appears I must withdraw my resignation for now," he said with finality.

Flying through the sky Conner and Videl looked at the five, "Forever People?" asked Conner.

"We are young gods, new gods," the large one explained.

"Okay," said Videl, not that surprised compared to what she'd been through in the past.

"You can call me Serifan," the one dressed similar to a cowboy said, tipping his hat to them during the introduction.

"I'm Dreamer, this is Moonrider and our leader Vykin," the one in pink said, introducing the one in black, and the other in blue. The large man introduced himself, "I am called an animal that does not exist on this planet, but you may call me Wolf."

"This is Wolf," said Superboy, gesturing towards Wolf who growled.

"Ah, Bear, then. Bear is much better," the large man said.

"This is Horizon and I'm Superboy," Superboy greeted.

"Sooo, what are you doing on Earth?" asked Videl.

"We are here to retrieve technology stolen from New Genesis, our home of the Forever People," Vykin explained. "And while we have found the New Genesphere, the motherbox tells us there is a rescue drill from New Genesis being used in a city known as Metropolis. Superboy, Horizon, this is your world, you both can lead us there and we can stop them together."

Videl and Superboy looked at each and nodded. "Alright, we'll lead the way," Superboy said, now flying towards Superman's territory. Luckily, he was off world.

They arrived in Metropolis, stopping their flight above a construction site. Looking down they noticed three armed men and a large hole reaching underground near them. "Of course, a construction site. That's the perfect cover, especially when the federal bank is across the street," Superboy said.

"Ugh, the criminals always do this, give them some new gear and they just use it to steal. They do realize they can just patent and sell it for millions instead of robbing a bank!?" Videl said incredulously. Hearing nothing but silence she looked toward everyone else who was staring at her. "Sorry, it just seems like no matter what world you're on, the thugs are always the same ya know?"

"Agreed, but what is a federal reserve?" said Bear. "It's a place to hold money," said Superboy.

"So, it's a heist? Come on fellas, let's go in there guns-a-blazin and round up them outlaws," Serifan said, bringing out his trusty revolvers.

"He really likes old westerns," said Dreamer, seeing the other heroes staring.

"There's a time to go in loud or go in smart. Can any of you shapeshift or create illusions," said Superboy.

Dreamer smirked, "I've got an idea."

A minute later…

Down on the grounds of the construction sites stood the three armed men. They were all problem children growing up. Growing up in houses without fathers.

They joined Intergang years ago when they were just teenagers. They did the usual, robbed some houses, stole a few cars, even stole an elderly woman's purse. One of the men consisted of Matt Johnson. He was born in New Jersey, but his mother moved them to Metropolis when he was a kid.

Honestly, he may be a bad guy, but he never hurt his mother. Whenever he could make a few extra bucks, he would send them to her to keep her afloat. He'd do anything for her.

This was supposed to be an easy night. Stand near the hole and guard, then maybe get a piece of those gold bars they were... borrowin.' Yeah that's right.

So it was very surprising to see his mother walking towards him with that same smile she gave him when he stood up to those bullies back in middle school.

"Mom!? What are you doin' here?" Matt said in disbelief.

"I just came to give my son a jacket, what a woman can't make sure her son don't get a cold." she said with her New Jersey accent she was proud of.

Suddenly, he heard the two men behind him grunt. Turning around with his gun drawn he looked to see they were gone. He turned around again, "Ma, you gotta get outta here it's not sa...fe," he said, seeing his mother's image shift and change into Dreamer.

Just as he aimed at her, Vykin lifted his arm using his magnetic abilities to make his gun hit him in the face until he fell unconscious.

All seven of them jumped down into the hole. Waking into it they saw it lead into a long tunnel. Videl put a finger up to her face mask as a sign to stay quiet.

Running through it they saw a light source up ahead. They slowed coming behind the face of a rock. In front of them were the intergang, but most importantly the Rescue drill they were here to retrieve. They were using it now to load hundreds of gold bars into it.

Near the drill stood Bruno Manheim, known as Ugly. To his left stood a woman, Whisper, another member of intergang.

While Horizon and Superboy stood behind a rock, Vykin walked over to the intergang group. Superboy tried to stop him, but it was too late as they made their presence known. "Humans, release the drill and your weapons, we wish for no conflict," Vykin said.

"And the gold too!" Superboy said, stepping up.

Ugly and Whisper looked at each other before smirking, "Heh, and here I thought we weren't going to use these," he said, a strange red material coming around his chest in the form of a cannon, the other criminals doing the same. Whisper reached behind her and pulled out dual scarlet whips of plasma.

One of the crooks fired red disks from his cannon. They surrounded Vykin, electrocuting him with red electricity.

"GGGRRAAHHH!" he shouted in pain his body spasming. The heroes went into the offensive. Moonrider and Horizon blasted some of the thugs with their energy, but a disk came onto each of their backs, making the nearby rocks surround them in a rocky cacoon.

Wally's Session

"So, you're telling me you're not stunned by what happened in the simulation. Even your own explosive death," Canary said, not believing a word from Wally's mouth, who was stuffing his face with popcorn as he laid on the sofa.

"Of course, the simulation wasn't real," Wally said, throwing popcorn into his mouth.

"Okay, can you explain to me why you had such an extreme reaction to Artemis's death?" Canary questioned. That managed to get to Wally as he choked on the popcorn before righting himself. The image of his teammates in the tundra, as he witnessed Artemis's last moments in the simulation before she disintegrated in front of their eyes. She didn't even have a chance to scream. A look of trepidation came on his face before it was replaced by a sly smile.

"Really though, I'd rather talk about you Canary, maybe you can show me some moves," Wally said to get off topic.

"Wally you're in denial," she said, knowing it was going to take awhile to get to him.

"I'm fine with that," he said, resuming to eat his popcorn.

Bear attempted to charge thugs, but one of the intergang used a new weapon turning the ground he ran on to quicksand trapping him.

Serifan pulled out his own weapons. Two dual pistols that released blasts of concentrated energy instead of bullets. He shot at the disks electrocuting Vykin, destroying them and stopping his torture.

Superboy stayed behind but got an idea. Digging his fingers into the rock beneath him he pulled. Lifting a rock, the size of an average human's upper body and chucked it at the Whisper. She managed to block them, but the force still knocked her down, stopping her assault on Dreamer.

Vykin looked towards his allies, seeing the advantage the gang had, "We have to go, this tunnel is giving them an edge over us."

Superboy nodded and ran towards Moonstar tearing the chunks of rock surrounding him. Bear lifted himself out of the quicksand quickly.

Meanwhile cracks appeared around the rocks ensnaring Videl. It started to shake before it exploded outwards, revealing Videl who floated in its place, her energy flaring around her.

She looked at the enemy and brought up her finger, "Dodon Ray!" Videl shouted, firing the Crane school's signature technique, destroying some of the disks flying their way.

She followed the others who came out of the hole of the tunnel and flew to the top.

Intergang followed right behind them, but with their dwindling numbers they were easier to take care of.

Suddenly the New Genesphere came into the fight. A part of her opened up revealing blasters on each side firing at the remaining intergang giving them cover.

"Cool," said Superboy and Horizon.

"It is time," Vykin said, looking at the Forever People who nodded.

"Time for what?" questioned Superboy.

The five of them stood near one another, deciding to answer with action. Vykin raised the motherbox into the air, with the other four raising their hands with him, at once they shouted the name, "Taru!" The motherbox responded, bathing the five of them in a bright light.

After a moment what stood in place of the new gods was the combination of their parts… Infinity Man, a fusion of them that stood at ten feet tall with a yellow hide, blue plating on its chest, shoulders, and wrist with a blue helmet covering its eyes.

The men who trapped Bear earlier turned the ground below Infinity Man into quicksand, but he simply floated over it and fired beams from his eyes, disintegrating their weapons one by one.

Whisper used her whips in an attempt to launch waves of plasma at Infinity Man, but he caught them, disintegrating her weapons and used a wave of energy to push her to the side. Then looking towards the rescue drill he raised his arm opening a boomtube below it that sent the drill to New Genesis.

Ugly saw they were outmatched and opened a boom-tube with a fatherbox.

"No, Ugly. Wait!" Whisper shouted, but the boom-tube closed leaving her. Infinity Man released a cable mesh rope around her. "Hey!" she complained.

When the battle was over Infinity Man shined once more leaving the New Gods themselves once again.

Videl looked at them knowing what happened, "So, you guys can fuse, huh?" she said, thinking of Gotenks own fusion. Superboy raised a brow, but didn't question it.

"Yes, we become one with the source and become more than the sum of our parts… Infinity Man," Dreamer explained.

"This doesn't make any sense. How have these people gained technology from New Genesis and Apokolips?" Vykin said, rubbing his chin in thought.

Walking over to Whisper they looked down at her.

"I'm not givin' you anything," Whisper said in defiance.

"You were not asked," said Dreamer. Using her powers to extract memories she looked into Whisper's mind. A mist started to come out of her forming a man. He was deformed, with a sadistic smile and dark cruelty in his eyes.

"Desaad," Dreamer said with fear.

"Okay, we've been patient for a while now, and that's new for me, so can someone tell me what's going on?!" Superboy shouted.

"The New Gods come from two worlds at war. Those from New Genesis are gods of life, freedom, and the source. Our enemies from Apokolips are gods of anti-life, slavery and degradation. This," Dreamer said looking back at the cruel figure, "is Desaad, chief torturer of Apokolips. His works are pure evil, his experiments, abominations. His master–"

"Unspeakable, hah, heh, ha," chuckled Desaad's visage.

Dreamer looked at the visage in disgust, then raised her hand dispelling the mist. "He is seriously creepy," said Whisper.

Richard's Session

"I'm hurting? More like traumatized," Richard said. "I finally become leader of the team, something I've wanted since day one, and the first thing I do is lead my friends to their deaths. I know I had to do it, but that's not even the worst part. Please, you can't tell Batman," Richard pleaded.

"Nothing leaves this room," Canary assured.

"Sigh, I always suspected I would become him. Taking his place as the new Dark Knight of Gotham. Being a hero, I'm still up for that. But that thing inside of him, the thing that drives him to sacrifice everything for the mission. It's just not me. I don't want to be the Batman anymore," he said, making Canary's eyes widen slightly.

Robin spoke again, his tone tinged again with regret, "And guess what? I saw her."

"What do you mean Robin?" Canary asked.

Robin's body tensed before he told her, "I saw Horizon, a version of her from the simulation was with us for a part of the battle in Washington, and I… I didn't save her."

"That's okay Robin, it wasn't your fau–"

"It was my fault!" he said with frustration. None aimed at her but himself.

"I just stood there. I could've warned her, she would've survived, but I just… froze, I made a promise," he said. He broke his promise. The same promise that he made when he lost his family to Zucco. To never freeze again.

'I need to become stronger,' he thought.

The Forever People, Superboy, Horizon, and Wolf stood outside a warehouse.

Ping, the motherbox sounded. "Motherbox says the Apokoliptian technology is in there," said Vykin.

Superboy and Horizon used their senses to make sure there was no one inside. "I don't see any heat signatures," said Superboy.

"But I sense them. There's about five dozen of them in there. There's also someone with a power that is similar to yours, but it's… twisted," she said to the New Gods.

"Hm, I've got an idea," Videl said.

After explaining it they put the plan into action. Dreamer disguised herself and Videl as two of the gunmen guarding the hole from earlier. Walking into the door of the warehouse they called out to the sightless intergang members in the warehouse.

After a moment the criminals revealed themselves, "Matt, where's the other guy?" questioned Ugly. Walking up to the two. Suddenly the north, east, and west side of the warehouse exploded outwards with teams of two.

On the north were Bear and Vykin as they took on multiple members at once. Bear using his strength to bend their weapons, and Vykin using hand-to-hand combat.

He tried to use his magnetism to snatch the weapons out of their hands but found a complication.

"These weapons resist my power. Bear, cover me!" he shouted. Concentrating he lifted his arms, and sections of the metal walls of the warehouse flew off. Binding some of the men, while providing cover for himself and Bear from projectiles.

On the west, Superboy punched through the wall, grabbing a man, and throwing him at another. Some of the men shot the red disks at Superboy, but they were shot to pieces by Serafin's revolvers

"All right outlaws! Time to see if you can dance!" he said, flipping his revolvers before firing a barrage of energy bolts at those that got close or the disks being fired.

A part of the roof on the east top of the warehouse came crashing down on a man. Standing atop of him were Moonrider and Wolf. Wolf growled and leapt onto a man pushing his back against a wooden crate. Tearing apart his Apokoliptian spear with his jaws while Moonrider shot his energy at a man trying to charge him, sending him almost through the roof.

Dreamer and Videl drooped their disguises with Videl punching Ugly hard to break his cannon sending him flying, the cannon acting as a cushion.

Seeing their boss go down, a dozen men surrounded Videl. She launched spheres of ki at them. Once they got close, they imploded, the embers of ki able to be controlled by her will. This was a technique she named Incendiary Burst. Launching a ki barrage that would explode but allowing her to control its flaming embers at will.

She willed the flames to latch onto their weapons and deform them, making the men scream from the melting metal against their skin, causing them to throw them to the ground.

Unnoticed to them the twisted ki that Videl sensed earlier came out of his human disguise. Revealing to be Desaad himself. He looked at Ugly knowing what was likely to happen.

Dreamer noticed the men starting to overtake them with numbers. Videl looked at her and nodded, initiating the second phase of the plan.

The Forever People quickly came together and used the motherbox to become Infinity Man, but as they shined. Desaad smiles. "Now, mortal!" he shouted.

Ugly threw the fatherbox at the transforming Infinity Man. Causing his body's hide to be a sinister red with his armor becoming black.

"That isn't good," said Superboy.

"Kill them and their little pet too," said Desaad with a smile.

M'gann's Session

"It was all my fault, hello M'gann. Who else could turn a regular training exercise into something that nearly put every one of her friends into a coma," M'gann said, her green skin turning white as she spoke, almost as if she was subconsciously willing herself to become something different. Which was truer than believed.

Canary's face showed surprise at the change, "You've...turned white," she said. M'gann stood up quickly thinking she had revealed her true self.

"No!" she exclaimed looking down at her hands. "Oh, you meant Caucasian. Yeah I'm fine being M'gann, but I can't be trusted to use my powers," M'gann said sitting down.

"M'gann, you're a Martian, not using your natural abilities is like me trying not to speak. Which I did after my first canary cry nearly deafened my entire first grade class," Canary said, knowing the experience of losing control firsthand.

"You're young, let your uncle train you to control your powers further and regain your confidence, M'gann. You will get through this, not using your powers won't take away the guilt. It will just stop you from growing and never gain control again."

Videl, Superboy, and Wolf backed up as Infinity Man stood for a moment then made a fist. Throwing a punch at them that they dodged, the punch easily breaking concrete.

"Superboy, Wolf, distract him!" Videl shouted. Charging an attack. Superboy raced to Infinity Man's leg punching at it. Meanwhile Wolf jumped to the top of a series of crates and jumped straight at Infinity Man's face but was backhanded away. It then grabbed Superboy and threw him through the air at Videl.

She managed to catch him but stopped her attack in the process. As soon as she caught him, Infinity Man shot beams from his eyes straight at them, launching the both of them out of the warehouse into a plane runaway.

Superboy got up using Sphere as leverage. "Wanna get in the fight?" he asked, but she rolled away. "I don't blame you."

They both got up to see Wolf come through the hole to them. Infinity Man pushed his hands through the wall, tearing it apart as he stalked towards them. Wolf jumped at him again, but was pushed by a wave of energy, being caught by Superboy with enough force to dent the private jet behind him.

Videl took her chance and charged an attack at him again, as Superboy grabbed a piece of the plane, chucking it at Infinity Man who destroyed it with his eye beams. He then raised the jet with his magnetism bringing it down on Superboy and Wolf.

Videl saw the opening and fired her attack, "Masenko!" firing Gohan's signature attack. She had learned from him during their training, but never used it in battle until now.

Infinity Man wordlessly fires his beams, hitting the Masenko head on, causing a beam struggle. Superboy and Wolf sat up to see the struggle, noticing the other men aiming weapons at Videl as she struggled.

With a roar they both engaged the gunmen who shot at them both, the bullets bouncing off their skin.

Meanwhile, Horizon herself was being easily overpowered by Infinity Man, the combined power of the Forever People being too much for her, before the beam could reach her Sphere appeared landing on top of Infinity Man's head and latching onto him.

Managing to override the fatherbox's programming and return Infinity Man to his normal self, his colors reverted back to their yellow and blue hue. "Thank you, Sphere!" said Superboy, jumping to it to take control.

"Attack while you still can, you fools!" shouted Desaad. Causing the men to fire at Infinity Man.

Now controlling Infinity Man, he looked down at the remaining gunmen and men with Apokoliptian spears and cannons. "Our turn," he said. Using the controls, he began his assault firing beams at men and swatting them out of the way.

"Grh," grunted Ugly, attempting to run, but fell down as he felt like he hit a brick wall. Shaking his head, he looked up to see Horizon, "God damn it," Ugly said.

"God damn it is right," then a second later he was knocked out.

Desaad saw he was outmatched, his plan broken before his eyes. Opening a boom-tube he threw a gift into the air, "All will suffer in time," he said before walking through.

Superboy saw what Desaad threw. A small device that beeped as it was thrown, he quickly controlled Infinity Man to fire at it. "Woah!" he shouted for a moment, seeing the size of the explosion.

"Gah!" Videl shouted, putting up a barrier of energy. The New Genesphere wasn't so lucky, taking a brunt of the explosion. With a flash Infinity Man separated, the Forever People groaning where they laid.

Superboy sat slightly dazed but was helped up by Videl. They looked over at the New Genesphere in horror. "No," he said. She was damaged. Parts of her lay on the concrete, with an oil like liquid almost like blood leaking from her metallic frame.

He put a hand on her, not knowing what to do. Feeling a hand on his shoulder he looked to see Vykin who bore a soft smile.

"Don't worry Superboy, the motherbox may be able to heal her," Vykin said.

Superboy moved, letting Vykin attach the motherbox onto New Genesphere, after a few moments the damaged parts of her managed to come together, forming itself back into her original sphere shape.

"The healing process has begun, and will be finished on New Genesis," Vykin said.

"No," said Videl.

"I'm sorry, Horizon, Superboy, but we must take New Genesphere home now," said Dreamer.

Videl denied once more, "Like I said that's not happening," Videl told them.

"Agreed," said Superboy, standing with her.

Serifan asked, "Why should we let you keep her, to you she's just a machine?"

"You don't know what you're talking about, she fought alongside us. She's as much a part of their team as Superboy is!" Videl said. The Forever People looked at one another, before smiles appeared on their faces.

Vykin looked back at them. "That is enough. To know you see her as not just a tool, but a friend. You may keep her," he said, shaking Superboy's hand.

Sometime Later Back at the Cave

Tornado, Manhunter, Batman, and Shazam stood around Sphere, or as Wally dubbed her the Super Cycle. Manhunter asked, "What do you hope to find Batman? Super Cycle has shown to be a great asset to the Team, and with Superboy's report, it seems Horizon is as well."

"Regardless of the report, Super Cycle needs further investigation. Speaking of Superboy and Horizon, where are they now?" asked Batman.

Conner's Session

Walking through the halls to Canary for his session he looked at the sliding doors in front of him. Feeling a soft punch to his arm he looked to his side to see Horizon.

"It's your choice to go in big guy," said Videl.

"I know it's just, sigh, the reason I left last time was because I didn't want to accept something about myself, but now…now I can or at least say it out loud," hearing those words Videl gave him a soft smile and leaned against the wall.

Walking inside the room he saw Black Canary already sitting. After a moment he sat down across from her. "All right, Conner, you can speak anytime you're comfortable," said Canary.

Conner took a breath, "Okay, the truth is I wasn't devastated. Even when Tornado, you, the entire League, died. Even when I watched the world being destroyed. Even when I couldn't save Wolf. Watched Artemis and Kaldur die, and abandoned M'gann. I felt…like everything was right."

Canary's face became taken aback at that statement.

"From the moment I opened my eyes, I always wanted and feared to know what it felt to be what I was created to replace, a symbol, a Superman. My friends are dead or traumatized and I'm happy because I was the only one with this symbol on his chest," he said, putting a hand on his chest. "How can I live with myself bearing the guilt of that?"

Leaning forward, Canary put a comforting hand on his leg. "I truly don't have any easy answers Conner but being able to admit it is the first step."

Walking out of the room Conner looked to still see Videl leaning on the wall. He thought for a moment and quickly came to a conclusion. "Horizon, the name's Connor," he said.

It was Videl's turn to look taken aback. She contemplated but finally decided on what she would say next. With a smile she said, "The name's Videl, Conner. Now if ya don't mind, I've got a session."

Leaning off the wall she entered the room. Conner gave her a smile as she did so and walked away with a weight off her shoulders.

Videl's Session

Sitting in the chair that so many occupied that day, Videl sat.

"Horizon, you can speak anytime," said Canary.

Videl asked, "Okay, as a therapist nothing leaves this room right?"

To that Canary nodded. "All right, as you know I'm not from around here. I know what the Team went through, more than you know."

"I…died. Not the you-think-you-died-death, but the actual you're-no-longer-with-the-ones-who-cared-for-you death," Videl explained.

Canary looked at her and asked, "You came here to let it all out?"

Videl nodded, "Yeah, that and some other things. I was actually killed by magical bubblegum, had my entire planet blown up, and had my thoughts on the world destroyed by some kid with spiky hair and what's worse…..." Videl then went into a rant like no other.

Canary sat back in her seat with a soft smile. Knowing that with time, Young Justice would come together again.
