Hey readers! Sorry, this took me awhile, but welcome to the seventh chapter of Human Ambition! I've been getting reviews that some of you want me to go past season 1 and even to season 3 and 4 of the Young Justice continuity. Honestly that length of a story could take many months or even a couple years to get through. Although I'm not sure. If I do decide to take this story that far there will be a long Hiatus between each season so I can come up with an overall plot for each one. Review if you do want there to be a longer story! Thanks for the support and stay safe!

Young Justice New York

The gravity chamber shook slightly as two warriors fought at what seemed to be a struggle of the ages. A tall bald man fighting a much shorter, but more powerful foe.

With every blow a loud thunder like clap would be heard. Appearing at the floor of the chamber, then suddenly they would shimmer, an after image long since taking their place. Both being pulled down by three hundred times gravity. Throwing punches that were expertly blocked or parried by them at super-speeds.

Vegeta and Tien grunted as they sparred, but to the average person they may have looked as though they were fighting to the death.

Tien jumped back from Vegeta, throwing a ki blast that Vegeta attempted to deflect without care. He didn't expect the blast to explode before he touched it, stunning him for shorter than a second, but enough time for Tien to launch several punches to hit him dead center in the abdomen.

Vegeta quickly recovered, kicking at Tien. The Crane Master grabbed the leg and swung him around, but Vegeta used his other leg, launching a vicious strike, causing him to let go.

Vegeta took a moment to launch a controlled Galick Gun at Tien, who answered with a Tri-Beam, the blasts colliding at beyond light speeds, and detonating in an explosion that shook the chamber

The smoke from the explosion was swept away by their auras before both of them sighed as they lowered their energy.

Floating down the lower part of the chamber they grabbed their new outfits. Recently Wonder Woman visited New York. Giving them new outfits called dark wear but modified with lighter colors for them.

They were colored form-fitting jumpsuits with face masks and hoods on their person. Vegeta's was a navy-blue suit, with white lines on it and the Saiyan royal symbol over his heart, and yellow shoulder pads, giving homage to his Saiyan armor. Unlike Tien and Videl he proudly showed his Saiyan locks to the world.

Tien's dark wear was green with red outlines and the kanji for Crane on his chest. Videl wore one that was a dark purple with the kanji for horizon over her own heart.

The suits were made of a kevlar-wire mesh and when they touched their symbols the suit would turn black for stealth. The masks even had filters to block out gasses, such as Joker's laughing gas and Ivy's toxins with an underwater function that could last over thirty minutes.

Putting their suits on they both flew out of the warehouse in the early afternoon sky.

"Ugh, why do we need to do this again, in our world we didn't take on the same roles as the heroes here?" asked Vegeta.

Tien rolled all three eyes, "Vegeta, we must. Wonder Woman explained that if we patrol the city that'll boost our reputation as heroes, Videl and I were seen as vigilantes at first and the police didn't approve," Tien said, thinking back to when the NYPD would aim at them and yell to stand down.

"We're stuck here indefinitely, and with our power we might as well use them to help around, plus they're some heroes and villains that may be able to defeat even you, Vegeta," Tien said with a smirk.

"I do admire that there are more challenges," Vegeta said smiling, "but what if we don't find a way home?"

Tien shook his head, "We have to find a wa–"

"We might not. I sacrificed myself so that the Earth and everyone else would survive, but it was all for naught, Buu still survived, and the world suffered. Luckily, Kakkarot destroyed Buu in their final struggle, but I didn't sense Buu's energy vanish completely…almost as if–" Vegeta said before being interrupted by his senses.

He and Tien sensed the power levels below him flare as the people of New York panicked, and a familiar power level being weakened. Flying down to the streets they saw something strange… well they would actually call it a normal sight considering what they'd seen in their lives.

A large metal man with glowing green outlines across his body and a metallic skull fired a beam at Superman, sending him into the streets floating via two jet boots in the air. Superman had been patrolling in Metropolis when suddenly he was blindsided by Metallo.

The Man of Steel would have been able to easily defeat him, but Metallo's kryptonite core weakened more as they fought. It didn't help that the metal man gained upgrades from their last encounter, an increase in strength and durability being one of them along with his newly acquired flight.

'Luthor,' Superman thought, knowing that he had something to do with this. He got up, then was bombarded by kryptonite blasts from Metallo's hands.

'Great, another upgrade,' Superman thought, seeing Metallo's glowing hands. The blasts caused cars to flip, and glass to fall from buildings, cutting others as they ran.

Seeing the destruction he'd caused he made a motion to save the people around him, but he noticed help on the way.

A young girl was about to be crushed by one of the cars, she covered her head with her arms and screamed… but the feeling of being crushed never came.

She opened her eyes up to see Tien holding the car above his head with one hand, a soft look in his eyes. Carefully putting the car down, he said, "Don't worry, just make sure to get to safety, we'll handle this."

"Thank you, Mr. Crane," she said before running away.

He looked towards Vegeta sending a telepathic message that he would take care of the people and moved to help them, using telekinesis to stop shards of glass from hitting the streets and catching or stopping cars from hitting others.

Vegeta calmly walked towards Superman, almost as if Metallo wasn't there, looking at Superman, he noticed his power weakened with seemingly no explanation, "What's happening to you?" he asked casually, almost as if discussing the weather.

"It's Metallo, he's a cyborg powered by kryptonite. Irradiated material from my homeworld, it weakens me," he said standing, now far away enough from Metallo.

Vegeta looked towards the cyborg smirking behind his mask, as he deflected one of his blasts into the air, "Fine then, let me take care of this," Vegeta said, floating towards Metallo. Superman nodded, remembering how the man took down Mongul

He looked towards the destruction and helped Tien in protecting the people of New York.

Vegeta floated over to Metallo above the street. The cyborg would have smirked if he had lips, "Ah, one of New York's new heroes, huh? I'll take you down, then I'll have some fun with Sup-guhh!" Metallo grunted.

Had he not had a metal body impervious to pain he would have reeled from the force of the blow striking him into the ground, but the blow only surprised him enough to make Metallo grunt. Metallo sat up and quickly looked up to see where Vegeta was, only to see the blue sky. He began to stand, but suddenly was hit from behind, causing him to land on his hands and knees.

"Huh, well look at that, finally someone bows to a prince," Vegeta said, walking in front of him.

Growling Metallo shot up from his position and punched Vegeta, the ground cracking from the blow, "What?" Metallo questioned, seeing his fist on Vegeta's face. Though the Saiyan showed not a single sense of pain.

Vegeta chuckled, moving his head and throwing a quick kick that sent Metallo flying, but he caught himself with the rockets in his feet. "Okay, Prince! Raaggh!" Metallo shouted, rocketing towards Vegeta faster than sound. The sonic boom he created shattering glass around the city block.

Once in range Metallo threw a punch that Vegeta dodged with a simple sidestep. As Metallo passed him he grabbed his leg and threw him high into the air, taking him far above the streets to avoid any others from being hurt by their battle, "Heh, you'll be somewhat of a good warm-up."

Flying into the air Vegeta kicked him away. Metallo recovered and fired kryptonite blasts, Vegeta flew through the blasts, their impacts not affecting him as he coated his body in a thin line of ki.

He punched, hitting Metallo in the chest and cracking his kryptonite core. Metallo gasped, now knowing his levels of power were beyond his own. He flew towards the streets, a plan coming into his mind. While flying he dodged several ki blasts that the prince threw at him.

Flying towards the young girl Tien had saved earlier, he attempted to grab her, but the girl was pushed out of the way by a blonde haired and green-eyed woman. Metallo didn't care, any hostage would do, "Stop right now Prince, or I'll snap her little neck," Metallo threatened, squeezing her throat harder.

"Motherfucker!" the woman screamed, kicking his head.

Vegeta stopped, floating a few feet above the ground, but he didn't panic. In fact, he simply crossed his arms with a slight chuckle.

"What the hell are you laughing at?!" shouted Metallo.

"Heh, oh, you'll see in a moment."

"Last time I checked I'm the one with the host–!" he shouted but was interrupted as a piercing shot of ki went through his chest, piercing his kryptonite core. He dropped the woman, looking behind him to see Tien, who had shot a Dodon Ray through his chest. "N-noo," Metallo said, his green eyes losing their glow.

"Nice job Prince, Crane," said Superman who had finished protecting the citizens. He walked over to them bearing a smile.

Suddenly they saw a flash, looking to the side the heroes heard cheers as they saw the people of New York shouting praise and hollers to the three heroes, "Thank you Crane!"

"Your amazing Prince!"

"We love you!"

The woman that Metallo held hostage ran up to Tien giving him a kiss on the cheek, "Hey, Tien," she whispered, his eyes widened in surprise and looked at her.

"Launch?"

"See me in an alley Tien, and bring Vegeta," Launch said, walking away.

Vegeta and Tien, some minutes after defeating Metallo, had landed in a small alleyway, sensing Launch's energy. "What are you doing here, Launch?" asked Tien.

"Oh wow, no, how are ya Launch haven't seen ya in a while, are you okay from almost getting your neck snapped." She said with irritation.

"Launch–"

"No, I get it. Anyway, I'm here to find you guys. When those portals in our world opened up, I got sucked in after pushing someone out of their path and landed in San Francisco," Launch explained.

"Why didn't you find us sooner, you surely heard about us on the news?" questioned Tien.

Launch explained, "Yeah, well we don't all have energy barriers to protect us from otherworldly energies, when I landed in San Francisco I was injured and taken to a hospital and was out for some days. After waking up I heard about a vigilante named Crane who could fly and shoot blasts, so my interest was piqued."

"I went across the country to get here, but I had some… complications on the way," Launch said with a half grin.

Tien's eyes narrowed, "Launch, what did you do?" Tien accused.

Launch shrugged, "Oh nothin' just got into it with a cartel in New Mexico after one of their members pissed me off, then I saved a group of children from being trafficked. Apparently one of the cops thought I was a criminal after I beat one of the cartel members into the dirt. Had to lay low before getting here," Launch explained with a shrug, as if it was no big deal.

Vegeta started to become impatient, "Enough, let's just bring her with us, so she can at least know our location," he flew off into the air, through with listening.

Tien sighed, then held out his hand, "Come on Launch. We'll catch up more at the warehouse," Launch nodded, grabbing onto him as he followed Vegeta back to the warehouse.

Moments Later

When they arrived in the warehouse Launch looked around seeing the large area they occupied. Walking into the gravity chamber she walked towards the ladder leading to the lower level, Launch yawned, "Nice place. I'm gonna take a nap, I haven't slept in two days, we'll catch up tomorrow," Launch said, going to the lower level.

"So, we're not the only ones that arrived in this dimension, if Launch is here then others could be as well. Vegeta, you were saying earlier that you didn't sense Buu's energy disappear completely in his last clash with Goku?" Tien asked.

"That's right, Majin Buu may very well be alive, but we would've sensed his energy long ago. My theory is that someone in this universe is shielding his energy, or he's in another universe entirely," Vegeta pondered.

"Don't worry Vegeta, we have the League to help, their strength and numbers could easily overwhelm Buu," Tien assured.

Vegeta shook his head, "Tch, no, Majin Buu could simply absorb them, imagine a version of Buu with Superman's strength and Batman's intellect. It's best if we take him on ourselves, plus I want a rematch with that freak," Vegeta said, his heart starting to race slightly from just the thought of facing Majin Buu once more.

Tien nodded, "First we need to tell the League about this, then we can discuss how to fight Buu, plus we don't have the potaras as a backup plan, so we have to ask the others for assistance if Buu arrives on Earth and goes on a rampage."

"Fine, but Majin Buu is mine," said Vegeta, not budging on handling Majin Buu alone.

Young Justice Cave

"Looks like they're having a blast without me," said Videl, looking at the news feed showing Metallo's defeat. 'At least the public likes us for the most part,' she thought.

Robin was meditating behind her in the middle of the mission room. For the past few days, she had been training Robin in the art of ki control. He had come to her, saying that he didn't want to be as useless as he was in the simulation from days prior.

Through the day they would go through intense sparring. Videl used a small amount of her ki in the spar with Robin, making sure to push him until he would nearly collapse, then making him meditate for nearly an hour. She had even found weighted clothing from the chamber that she was able to give him.

He took the training in stride, Batman's training making him adapt fast to this exhausting regimen. He had meditated in the past with the Dark Knight, easily able to relax himself and tune out his surroundings.

Videl looked back at Robin, sensing his ki slowly growing over the past few days. She had looked at his history, apparently, he'd been fighting guys over twice his size since he was nine years old. "Hey, Conner," she said, sensing the Boy of Steel coming towards them.

"Hey, what's this all about?" he said walking forward.

"Oh, ya know, just trying to awaken the inner power of Boy Wonder," Videl joked with a thumbs up.

"You mean this ki stuff, you guys have been talking about?" Conner said, making Videl quirk a brow.

"Super hearing, remember?" Conner said, tapping his ear. "You know, we never finished our fight in the warehouse, so, how about a rematch?" Conner said with a challenging smirk.

"You're on," said Videl, her heart beating from the proposal.

Robin stood up and moved from the middle of the mission room, knowing what was going to happen. Hearing footsteps he looked behind him to see Wally with a protein bar coming towards him. "Sup, Rob... what are they doing?" asked Wally, pointing at the ensuing fight, as Videl and Conner shifted into their stances.

"They're about to have a rematch from their night at the port," Robin explained.

"Oh…my money's on Conner, Horizon's pretty strong, and pretty hot, but Conner is gonna be too much for her," Wally said, placing his bet.

Robin gained a knowing smile, "Skill over power, Wally. I'm with Horizon."

In the middle of the mission the two heroes shifted into their stances…. then the fight started.

Videl threw a feint jab, making Conner tense, raising his guard. Leading Videl to switch her attack with her superior speed, throwing a ki-covered fist into his side that only barely pushed him back. He attempted to throw a hook that Videl ducked under, kicking him in the chest and using him to push off the ground and flying into the air. She soared into the air, "Haaa!" she shouted, launching numerous ki blasts at him.

After several seconds of being bombarded he jumped into the air attempting to grapple with Videl, knowing his strength would overcome hers, but she fazed out of sight, appearing behind him and giving him a kick that sent him back into the ground. He reacted quickly, landing on his hands. She charged an attack in both hands, sending two ki waves at his chest just as Conner stood up.

Flying straight towards him, she shot two basketball sized spheres of ki that he managed to dodge with superhuman speed. Coming close she kicked at his head, hitting him on the temple. Conner took his chance, grabbing her ankle and pulling her towards him, then throwing a powerful blow into her face that sent her hitting the ground, hard enough to bounce off it and slightly shake it, but she managed to land on her feet.

Videl wiped the blood from her mouth. Her head rang from the impact of Conner's fist hammering into her skull. "You ready to call it quits Horizon?" Conner asked. Videl gave the bird as a response with a smile. She made a motion with her hands that caused Conner to quirk a brow. Before he could react one of the basketball sized ki blasts from earlier impacted his back, raising him off the ground. Videl flew towards him at breakneck speeds and willed the other blast to rise back to her hand.

At the peak of his ascent, she used her free hand to hit him in the back, using the blast now in her other hand to hit him as he descended, making him finally land on his back in the middle of the mission room. A circle appeared where he laid, reading: Superboy Status: Fail.

Videl walked over to Conner, standing over him and offering her hand. Conner looked at it, then his eyes trailed up to Videl who smiled at him. Gaining a smile himself he grabbed her hand, letting her help him stand, "Not bad, but if it was a real fight, you wouldn't be so lucky Horizon," Conner said.

Videl gained a fire in her eyes, "Then I guess I'll just have to get stronger won't I." Suddenly they started to smell a sweet fragrance from the kitchen.

Walking inside they saw M'gann baking cookies, "Hey, guys! Cookies?" M'gann said, holding the tray out with her power.

"Of course, babe," said Wally, quickly putting a cookie in his mouth and grabbing two more in each hand.

The others were more careful with their servings. "These are great, M'gann," complimented Videl.

"Thanks, Horizon. I used a little bit more brown sugar and chocolate chips this time around," explained M'gann with a bright expression.

Just as Videl was about to grab another cookie, she heard Tien's voice in her mind. 'Videl, come back to the warehouse. It's important.' Videl waved goodbye to the others. Flying out of the hangar of the cave and quickly to New York. She immediately flew into the warehouse and entered, sensing a third energy inside the chamber.

Walking inside she looked to see Tien and Vegeta looking at her, glancing off at each other they nodded, "Videl, we need to talk."
