'thoughts of Sesshomaru's beast'

They continued talking over breakfast, but only on light topics. Hermione wasn't nervous anymore, but had the urge to talk to Sirius in private. She wanted to know what had happened to him and she was sure, that he wanted to know the same from her, wanted to know what happened with Voldemort and Harry. She continued translating for the men in the room. She was glad that Sesshomaru wasn't angry at her, for her former behaviour or at least she hoped he wasn't. He seemed a bit cold toward Sirius, but she could not figure out why exactly. Probably because he didn't know him.

After breakfast Lord Sesshomaru dismissed the guests. She looked to Sirius and saw him starring at her. He wanted to speak to her as soon as possible. She nodded and formed 'later' with her mouth. After the two men had left, she looked to Sesshomaru, who was staring at her.

"What… what is it? Did I do something wrong?", she asked shyly.

Sesshomaru continued to stare at her.

"No, you did well. Are you alright? It seemd to be an… unexpected situation."

"I… Thank you for the compliment. I think I am alright or at lest I will be. I … I will have a lot to talk to him about. I am curious to know what happened to him, since I thought he dies five years ago. And I am sure he wants to know the same. Would… Would it be possible to excuse me for lessons and mealtime? I think I need to speak with him and it won't be easy. It will take time", she tried to explain to him.

"Why will it not be easy?"

"Because… because I will have to tell him what has happened in the time he was gone and not everything was good. I told you a few things yesterday. He will want to know everything and detailed."

"Hn. This Sesshomaru is not happy about it, but I understand. Come see me before you return to your room for the night, if you will not make it for dinner."

She nodded and smiled happily.

"Yes, I will do so. Thank you."

She bowed, stood and left the room to find Sirius.

Hermione was shown to Sirius room and announced to him. She rolled her eyes, since he did not understand Japanese. He opened the sliding door and asked her inside. She dismissed the servant and went into his room.

"I can't believe you are here. I thought you had died at the ministry, we all did. We mourned you", she said sadly while sitting down at his table.

"I thought so. I could not find a way to come back to you or reach you. I was lucky, I was discovered by Nick in the ministry. He helped me cope with everything and also to find a way home. Unfortunately we didn't find a way. I even tried going through the veil again, but it did not work for me. In the last five years, besides trying to find a way back, I helped Nick with some Projects and Businesses. That's why we are here. Business and trying for me to find a way back. Can you believe that I am calling the Nicolas Flamel Nick?", he babbled excitedly.

Hermione smiled, happy to see him again, and sad that her friends were not here to see him as well. He sat down next to her and took her hands in his.

"Kitten, tell me what happened in the years I was gone. I wondered all this time. Is Harry…?"

"He is well. At least the last time I heard from him. He told me he wanted to propose to Ginny", she told him with tears in her eyes.

How was she to tell him about everything? About the war, the dead, all the horrible things? She swallowed hard and decided to start at the beginning, meaning the moment Sirius Black died in her time.

"After you died, Harry went after Bellatrix. Voldemort came as well and had a showdown with Professor Dumbledore. He fled afterwards, but the Minister saw him and so they finally believed Harry and the headmaster. The next year went by relatively quietly. But… at the end of the year death eaters got into Hogwarts, and … Headmaster Dumbledore died."

"What? Dumbledore is dead? Wil be? Whatever, but dead? How?"

Hemione swallowed and explained: "Draco, Draco Malfoy had the task to kill him. It was a punishment for his father, since he failed at the ministry. He helped the death eater into the castle but could not kill him, so Professor Snape did it."

Before she could continue, Sirius shouted: "Snivelus? That bastard! I knew he was not to trust!"

"Stop it! It's only thanks to him that we won the war! Dumbledore ordered him to kill him because he was already dying. He did a lot for us. But I should explain the rest before we get more into that."

She recounted the events of the war. She did not really mention her torture but tried to retell the rest as accurate as possible. As she began to talk about the last battle, tears were running down her cheeks.

"We won, but at a high price. Professor Snape gave his life, Fred died. And… and Remus and Tonks were killed as well. They left behind a son, Teddy. Andromeda is looking after him", she cried now.

Sirius was crying as well. Remus was his last friend and now he was the last marauder. Or the first? This time travelling was confusing sometimes. He embraced her and stroked her hair.

"I am so sorry, pup. It must have been so hard. Still is for you."

After a while he asked her: "What happened after?"

So she began to tell him about her life and the others after the war. While she spoke he held her, laughed and cried with her.

They just stayed like that for a while, after they finished speaking, he had also told her a bit more about his time in the past. She was exhausted after all these emotions. Slowly she stood up.

"I am very tiered. I will go to my room and sleep. I will see you tomorrow?", she told him.

She hugged him, when he stood up as well an they wished each other good night. She left his room and found a servant still in front of it. It was late and they did not eat anything the whole time, so when the servant had shown her the way back to her chambers, she told her to bring something to eat to Sirius.

Already wanting to disappear in her room, she remembered Sesshomarus request. So she went to his rooms instead. Wakana announced her and opened the door for her. She walked inside and saw the demon lord seated at the table with a scroll in hand and tea on the table. He motioned her to sit and so she did at her usual spot.

"How did it go?", he asked her and put the scroll down.

"It… it went rather well. I am exhausted and hungry now, but it was worth it. I am glad that he is alive" she responded.

"Eat", he told her and pushed a plate with some rice and vegetables to her.

She blinked surprised, but took it and began to eat in silence.

After a while Sesshomaru spoke again: "You have not eaten since this morning have you not? You should pay better attention to your health. You should rest after you have finished eating. We will have enough time tomorrow to talk."

She nodded, not wanting to speak with a full mouth. When she had finished eating she stood and bowed.

"Thank you again. It meant a lot to me, to be able to talk with him. I will try my best at translating tomorrow and hope I will not embarrass you."

Sesshomaru stood up as well and came towards her.

"There is no need for thanks. I know you will do your best. I don't think there is a way that you could embarrass me, if you try your best."

He came closer and took her hand. He rubbed his cheek against it and kissed the back of her hand lightly. She blushed at his actions and words.

"Sleep well, my little witch. Wakana will help you with your clothes", he told her and let her go, a light smirk on his lips.

"Good night", she told him and left his room in a bit of a trance.

Was this going to become a habit? She let Wakana help her out of the many layers of kimono and then went finally to bed. What a long day. So unexpected. She hoped her nightmares would stay at bay tonight, but she was not sure. After all she kind of relived them be telling them to Sirius. But she could hope, could she not?

AN: Sooo. I am sorry it took me so long to write a new chapter. I was so happy reading all of your reviews. I am sorry I won't respond to all of them, they are just too many, but know that I read every one of them and they mean so much to me. It's a bit thanks to your reviews, that I finally managed to continue with the story. The other is time and motivation an ideas for the story. Plus I don't like stories that are discontinued, so I plan to finish the story. I just don't know how long it will take me. So thank you all!

This chapter is not betaed yet, since it was a bit of a spontaneous decision to upload a new chapter.
