"What did I say?" Charlie asked.

Sibby stared at him. She didn't have time for this.

"Was it something I said?" he asked, as if changing the question a little would get her to respond.

"Do I have to answer?" she asked back.

Charlie took a minute, seemingly thinking over her question.

"No, of course not," he finally answered. "I'd like it if you could tell me, just because, well…"
