Shermer Falls

Author's Note: This is my first Breakfast Club fic, and also my first horror fic. It's Bender/Claire, and a kind of Breakfast Club/Darkness Falls crossover. In it, Bender's dad's dead. I hope that you like it! And, if he seems too young to be losing his last tooth, I originally had him as a 12-year-old. But that seemed too old, so he became 8.

Prologue

8-year-old John Bender carefully put his last baby tooth under his pillow. He was hoping to get a good night's sleep, but when he turned his light out, he couldn't sleep at all. He grabbed the flashlight off of his nightstand and held it under his covers. Suddenly, he heard a strange noise, getting closer and closer. Scared, he pulled the covers over his head. He turned his flashlight on.

"Stay in the light!" they said. "And whatever you do, don't peek!"

He knew that he shouldn't, but he couldn't help himself. His hands shaking, he slowly peeked his head out from under his covers. He gasped at what he saw. There was a figure standing…no, floating there, in a black cloth that seemed to swirl around. At the sound of his gasp, the figure whirled around, and he could see a porcelain face. He looked closer and saw that it was actually a mask. He didn't know why, but it looked evil somehow. He screamed and grabbed the flashlight, running from his room. He stopped at a window that had moonlight pouring in.

"Honey, what's wrong?" his mother asked, walking over. "Why were you screaming?"

He didn't say anything, but just looked at his open bedroom door. His mother looked at him.

"Is there someone in your room?" she asked.

He continued to stay silent. His mother sighed.

"I'll go look, honey." She said, walking over to his room.

"Stay in the light!" John said, but she just ignored him.

She looked around, and turned to face the mirror by his door. He watched her carefully.

"See, honey? Nothing's he…" She never finished. John screamed. He had just seen his mother pulled away by the creature!

He ran to the bathroom, the creature on his tail. He turned all the lights on and cowered in the shower stall, crying. What was that thing? He thought. Then he realized that it was the Tooth Fairy that everyone talked about. As he waited for the morning to come, he could hear the voice of the Tooth Fairy calling his name over and over. The very sound sent chills down his spine. He knew he would never be the same.

Well? Good? Bad? Let me know! Constructive criticism is always welcome, as are flames. With the flames, though, please try not to be too harsh in them. Thanks! The next chapter will be up as soon as possible!
