Remus looked up at the moon. There were still about seven days until the next full moon. He didn't want to think about it. With Snape gone there was no one to make the potion that he needed. He was old and dangerous but she was not scared. He could feel her presence even though he couldn't see her. He felt like her love for him had seeped into his veins and now it followed through his body. Through his heart.

Every time she mentioned the love she felt for him it was like driving a dagger

into his heart. He knew that he could never allow himself to give in to her. He could never be her boyfriend or her husband. It was just so painful to watch her walk away looking at her feet trying to hide the tears that made their way down her beautiful face. He could not take that.

That is why when he stood looking up at the moon even though he knew she was there he ignored her. If he looked behind him they would talk together. Talk of things that would make the tears flow down her face. So even though pretending he did not know she was there hurt him he knew he had to do it, because he had to protect her, because he loved her. He love Nymphadora Tonks.

That night when he finally went to bed he dreamed of her. In all of his dreams she was his. In some they were married and raising children and in some they were a struggling young couple trying to make it work, but when he woke up he realized they were just dreams. It got to the point were he didn't want to dream anymore because every time he got up it got more and more painful.

The day before Dumbledore's funeral was hard for Remus. He had been working underground hard that week and when he arrived at Hogwarts he was exhausted. He wanted to just find his room and fall asleep. Then he heard crying in the night. He knew it was her instantly. His feet seemed to be carrying him towards her even though his mind was screaming no. When he reach where she was sitting next to the lake he sat next to her. She moved closer to him putting her head on his shoulder. "Please, let's try to make this work. To make us work. Will you try for me. Please." she said in a whisper. He looked down at her. He loved her with all his heart, but he was still unsure of what to do. Then he looked in her eyes and all his worries and pains faded away. He smiled down at her. "Yes, I will try for you." He held her closer not wanting to let her go. He wished they could stay in that moment forever, but he also knew there would be more moments together in the future.
