From her crude bed on the floor of the Kashmir Iota's eyes followed Subject Omega's every move with intense accuracy, as if analyzing everything about him. Cold reading as it's called, reading someone's body language to get a better understanding about them, whether they have any physical injuries, whether they're lying, sad, angry, almost every emotion someone can feel will register in their body language.

Iota considered herself well versed in the skill, that was until she tried to observe Subject Omega. He would be a tough nut to crack, no matter how hard she tried to read him it was impossible, with the eyes of a calculated Predator, and the calm demeanor of someone so used to violence, death, and suffering.

The one thing she did know however was Omega had erected so many emotional barriers most of the time he didn't even seem like he had feelings at all. Most Protectors are this way, they block out all emotion and rely strictly on discipline and their training, not because it was programed into them, but because it was less painful, and she could see it in his eyes, He had seen so many terrible things, things that would drive the strongest men mad.

He had likely put these mental barriers in place long ago, the question she kept asking herself, was what traumatizing experience could he have survived in order to make him this way? She could only speculate while watching her new found companion search through debris for something, First he lifted the severed limb of a Splicer he dispatched earlier and started removing the rings and watch from the boil ridden body part, when a ring would get stuck the Protector would simply tilt his head in an observing manor, then break the finger with a loud crack, and remove the gold piece of jewelry, and place it in one of his belt pouches.

From the sound the ring made as it entered the pouch Iota guessed there had to be at least a dozen more inside, she continued to watch him as he lifted large chunks of debris while he continued his search. The Room they occupied was dimly lit with light reflections dancing around the room from the many puddles that scattered the Restaurant, as well as the eerie yellow glow from Omega's eyes, Iota watched as he knelt down on the far side of the room and growled happily at what he had found, when he stood and turned Iota realized what he had been looking for, his harvester. The deadly weapon must have been blown free from his arm during the earlier explosion. Omega inspected the four foot razor sharp utensil as he reattached it to his right arm.

Iota sat up and crossed her legs as Omega made his way back over to the healing girl and crouched down in front of her. She watched as he began drawing something in the dirt on the floor, when he finished it revealed the image of a suit with the initials "P.P" which all Protectors knew as the sign for Point Prometheus.

There were very few places for armor or suit repairs in the underwater dystopia, small maintenance rooms next to airlocks scattered throughout the City, but those were for the Big Daddies, and even still are just for temporary fixes, they didn't house the equipment needed to repair the Big Sister or Big Brother armor types. Only Point Prometheus would have everything they needed, and it's no easy task navigating through the broken and flooded tunnels of the once great City, and with no oxygen tanks it would be a long walk indeed.

Omega sat in thought, trying to figure out the safest way to the research facility with busted gear, when he felt a light push on his arm. It was Iota trying to get his attention, and he tensed up when he saw the expression on her face, a mix of confusion, sadness, and questions.

The expression only grew more dire when she brought her hands up in front of him to form a butterfly, she had tears welling up in her bright yellow eyes, and her hands began to shake. Omega knew exactly how she felt… and the worst was yet to come.

After suffering the borderline breakdown of his new Companion he gave a defeated sigh, then decided on a path through Rapture that would be both relatively safe, and also offer Iota some Answers, even if they aren't the answers she wants, Iota could have swore she saw an expression of pain on the male Protector's face, if only for a brief moment when he arose from his crouched position. Now that a course of action was decided upon, it was time to get this show on the road.

Walking a few steps away to the debris-blocked doorway, Iota was literally shaken from her melancholic thoughts when she heard a thunderous noise that seemed to shake the entire building, when she looked towards the source of the commotion she was met with the sight of Omega holding a hand towards the formerly obstructed passageway.

The only thing she could see now was the faint glow of Omega's eyes through the thick dust as he got closer, with a single motion he lifted the still healing Protector and began carrying her out of the ruined establishment. All Iota could do was struggle for freedom against the biologically enhanced Guardian, finally after he was fed up with how much she was slowing them down Omega let out an annoyed growl and shook the injured girl, more pain shot through the Sister and she let out a small yelp, it was a crude method but at least her tantrum had stopped.

As the Duo made their way through the darkened halls of the dead City Iota couldn't help but observe every piece of scenery before them. The heavy boots of Omega as he continued to carry her through the barely lit passageways, the sound of his heart beat, lungs, and breathing. She chose to focus on these things instead of the world around her, the never ending destruction that lay before them.

Iota had never known a time in Rapture that had ever been truly so dead, the silence in itself was a feeling of pure dread, She had never seen the City so quiet, so empty. Sure Rapture had been quiet before, but there was always some sign of life no matter where you turned, the ranting's of stray Splicers, the sound of distant gunshots, now all that was left were the endless drips of water invading a hopelessly doomed City.

The feeling of nostalgia she felt as another Protector escorted her through the City was almost unbearable for the first time in what seemed like forever she felt relatively safe, and soon the fatigue from her healing abilities matched with Omega's rhythmic Boot-falls lulled her ever so slowly into unconsciousness as he continued his march towards their destination.
