A/N: This is a Matt/Mimi/Tai thing. My friend was like "write something!" and I was all "okay!" but I apparently misinterpreted it and wrote the wrong thing. Haha. But I still enjoy it immensely.

Disclaimer: Not. Mine. Sigh.

Perfect Mix

Together, the three of them made a perfect mix. Sour, Spicy, and Sweet. Together, the three of them were friends that, no matter what, would stay together until the end.

As they grew older, you wouldn't see the three of them without one or the other. Occasionally others accompanied them, but it was the three of them that were always the most in sync. Even when Sweet moved away for a short while, Sour and Spicy stuck together like glue even though they were polar opposites. Without Sweet there, the two of them fought more and more, but their friendship stuck it through.

When Sweet came back, the balance returned as well. The perfect mix was back and nothing could destroy it.

Until Spicy saw just how cute Sweet looked with her new hair and different clothes. Her smile was larger, her eyes brighter. Spicy found himself watching her a little longer than he was allowed to when the three of them hung out together. Even if she made a mistake, even if she snapped and lost her sweetness for that split second of fury, Spicy was entranced.

It was strange, being in love. He didn't understand. So he went to the only person he could for help: Sour. Now, Spicy knew it was basically forbidden to fall in love with Sweet. It was a silent pact made between them. But he couldn't hide it anymore. That strange feeling of wanting to hold her, that absurd emotion that bubbled inside of him, the need to impress her. It was driving him crazy, and Spicy finally lamented his problem to Sour.

And Sour did the only thing he could to help his friend.

He punched him.

And Spicy got mad and a little sad and yelled at Sour. Sour was grouchy at Spicy's feelings and snapped. He didn't know why. He was angry and annoyed and his heart was aching. Deep down, Sour knew it was because Sweet was affecting him too. She was tugging at his heart, and Sour found himself writing songs about these feelings, strumming on his guitar more softly than he ever had before.

So now Spicy and Sour were angry at each other, because even though he wasn't the most colorful crayon in the box, Spicy had deduced how Sour felt. So the two had clashed and now refused to speak to each other, confused and hurt and angry.

And Sweet didn't understand. She would try to get them to talk, try to wheedle her way into their hearts and minds. But Sour and Spicy were too stubborn, and the Perfect Mix was ruined. They were all separate now, except for Spicy and Sour tugging on separate sides of Sweet.

And finally Sweet gave up, and she cried and sobbed in her usual way, stomping her feet and throwing a fit that she hadn't thrown in years. But Spicy and Sour refused to budge, and Sweet moved back to America because she was sick of all the fighting and hurt and silence.

And six years later, Spicy and Sour received two separate wedding invitations for Sweet. And both felt exhausted and a little relieved because finally, finally, their battle was over.
