AN- Since I never gave birth this chapter will be shorter than normal. At this point, I kind of want to get the birth part over with so that way we can get to more drama and love with Pacey and Joey. But even though it is a short chapter I think this is a super cute chapter. So Enjoy!

"No family is perfect. Get that idea out of your head. And nobody is perfect either. All we can do is work at it. And we do."Beverly Cleary

Joey had been feeling off all day long, it started around three pm. She was watching television when she felt the pressure that she had never felt before. She let her head back and decided to let deep breaths come out of her mouth but she didn't feel better by the end because she actually felt worse.

Then within the next thirty minutes, she felt even more pressure and even a little dizzy so she decided maybe a nap would be best at the moment. However, Joey later felt very wrong about that from the amount of pain she felt when she woke up. She looked at the clock now to see it was eĆght and she smelled the food coming from the kitchen which only made her want to puke more than anything.

She looked over and saw Pacey and quietly called out his name. Pacey came over and took one look at her, turned off the stove and raced over to her.

"Hey," He whispered as he bent down on one knee and softly rubbed her leg. "You alright?"

Joey shook her head as another contraction came this time they were getting quicker and quicker. He rubbed her back softly as he kissed her temple.

"Here let's get you up, sweetheart," Pacey whispered to Joey who softly nodded her head. As she wrapped her hands around his neck. Her ankle healed more but mostly was swollen from the pregnancy and she tried her best towards the end of the pregnancy not to walk as much as she wanted to.

"I need my stuff, Pace," Joey whispered as she pointed to her hospital bag in her bedroom.

"Right, Right," Pacey said as he set her down softly on the couch and grabbed her bag. He realized he probably should call Bessie but he looked to see Joey putting her head back moaning as another contraction came along he realized it would probably be best to do it at the hospital before she had their baby in the apartment.

He helped her up again as they slowly made their way out of the apartment and downstairs to his car. Of course Pacey cursed himself when he realized they had to go down the stairs to get to the parking lot but sooner or later they made it downstairs and into the truck.

When they made it to the hospital. They walked to the labor and delivery room where a nurse saw Pacey holding Joey steady as the nurses got a wheelchair and rolled her into a room.

Joey was only dilated at 5cm, they told them the best way to get her water to break was to walk around. So, that's what Joey and Pacey did. The nurses gave Joey a gown and Pacey helped her put her shoes back on. He got his phone and called Bessie and told her to come down as quickly as she could but it still could be a while.

Joey and Pacey walked carefully moving along the hallways. Pacey rubbed her shoulders and kissed her neck softly as Joey cried in pain against the wall. Pacey hated seeing her in this much pain but he knew there was nothing he could do.

In the middle of their walking back, Joey felt a gush of water down her leg. She looked at Pacey as he grinned at her. It was the first time in months that she saw a grin from him that was as big as this one.

He kissed her head softly as they walked around the corner to go back to bed. Joey got an epidural right away and they waited for the time it was time to push.

10:00pm

It was an hour later that Bessie walked in and Joey was sleeping as Pacey was nervously bouncing his leg while sitting in his chair.

"How's our girl?" Bessie said as she sat next to him. "She is good, she fell asleep like an hour ago after the epidural like an hour ago but before then she was in a lot of pain."

"Well, natural labor contractions are like very very painful. Trust me." Bessie whispered as she softly chuckled. "And how are you doing?"

Pacey looked up at her a little shocked but then shrugged. "I'm fine. Scared but I'm doing okay."

Bessie patted his knee as Joey called Bessie name.

"Hey, sis," Bessie said as she walked over to the bed and lay beside her. "How are you doing?"

"I am so tired," Joey whispered.

Pacey watched as Joey rested her head on Bessie's shoulder and he wanted so badly for that to be him but he felt like he ruined that as he sat there and just waited for the birth of his son or daughter.

2:23 am

It was finally time for Joey to push. Pacey was softly asleep as Bessie and Joey watched The Breakfast Club. When Joey felt uncomfortable as if she had to use the restroom but knew it was pressure down there that she was feeling. The doctor then walk in and smiled as Pacey jumped up now fully alert. Joey rolled her eyes suddenly wishing that could be her instead of her being in pain.

"Let's see, do you feel like you need to push?" The doctor asked as she looked down there. Joey shrugged as her doctor smiled at her.

"Well, the good news is you are 10cm and we are going to start pushing soon which means within a couple of minutes because that head is popping out."

The doctor then rushed out with the nurses as Pacey looked at Joey who smiled at Pacey. He walked over to kiss her forehead and smiled at her. "You ready?"

Joey nodded her head softly as she watched the doctors come in to deliver their baby. Their whole life was about to change real fast and soon.

2:58 am

"One more push!" Bessie said to Joey who was putting back her head and shaking her head. "I can't... I can't push anymore."

Pacey put his hand on her cheek and Joey looked up in surprise from his sudden. "Jo, you can do this."

"No... I'm tired, Pacey. I can't do this. It's too hard." Joey sobbed.

"We can see the head, Joey. All you need to do is do one more push. Ten seconds and your baby will be here."

Joey looked at Pacey and he softly kissed her forehead as she nodded her head. "Ok, ok. I'll do it."

"Ready?"

"Ready."

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one."

Suddenly a cry in the room has filled the room and when Pacey look up he saw a little baby girl crying and the doctor asked him if he wanted to cut the umbilical cord he started to tear up as he nodded his head. There was silence in the room as the two felt nothing but love for their daughter.

When Joey heard the words that it was a baby girl. Her heart stopped. All the fears came rushing through her body but holding her daughter against her chest as Pacey cut the umbilical cord. Joey felt nothing but love. She looked at her daughter and everything stopped. She felt so much love for the baby girl that had just been born and nothing was going to change that.

She felt Pacey rub the sweat off her head with a towel and a kiss on her cheek as Bessie rubbed her sister's arm. It was the comfort she needed. Daisy was taken away to be cleaned and checked out. But Joey barely noticed. Bessie walked out of the room to give Joey and Pacey private as Joey sobbed in Pacey's chest.

"You did so well," Pacey whispered as he pulled her closer to kiss her head and rub her back. It was like suddenly they never broke up and it was the same it had always been. Just the two of them, trying to make it into the world.

It was now six in the morning and Joey was breastfeeding her baby girl for the second time while Pacey got breakfast for the two of them. Joey was running of two hours of sleep but generally speaking, she didn't care at all. She gently rubbed the little black curls as Pacey walked in with a tray of pancakes and two bottles of water.

"Hey." He said as he smiled at the two ladies in the bed. Joey smiled back at him as she picked their daughter up more to burp her as Pacey walked over and sat down next to them."

"So, I guess now that we know the gender we could discuss the baby name."

"Do you remember when I told you a long time ago about the name Daisy?"

"Yeah, I remember," Pacey said as he handed over the breakfast tray to Joey and told the baby. "I really do like that name. You know I think Lillian should be the middle name. Your mom always will mean something to you and that name has even the double of meaning."

Joey looked down at the baby in front of her as she continued to chew her pancake. "Do you think she looks like Daisy?"

"Yeah I mean I think so. We could give her a ton of nicknames if it doesn't work out for her." Pacey teased. Joey rolled her as chuckled.

"What about her last name?" Joey asked nervously.

"I mean I was thinking Witter..." Pacey said as he looked up at Joey who was nervously looking down at her plate.

"I mean normally babies have their father's last name," Pacey said as he continued to look at Joey.

"I mean normally babies have older and married parents. I just want her to always be a part of us."

Pacey noticed how much Joey wasn't looking at him and after everything he had seen to Joey growing a baby in her stomach to giving birth. He wasn't going to disagree with the last name, he especially wasn't going to cause drama over the last name within a few hours of Daisy's birth.

"So, Daisy Lillian Potter-Witter?" Pacey asked.

Joey smiled down at the baby who was peacefully sleeping as Joey nodded her head. She could feel her hormones go away everywhere as she nodded her head and felt a small squeeze in the palm of her hands. Joey knew this wasn't an easy situation with the age or the fact they weren't married. But their baby girl would always be the one that would bring them together even within the last names.

On January 26, 2002, at 3 am Daisy Lillian Potter-Witter was born. She had big round blue eyes and dark black hair. She was 8 pounds and 9oz and she already was wrapped around her parent's finger.

It was 9 in the morning when Pacey was holding Daisy with a smile on his face. He rubbed her cheeks gently with his finger as the baby girl was in between his legs. She was sleeping peacefully but yet he saw a little smile on her lips as Pacey rubbed his fingers along her cheeks. Pacey had never felt more love for anyone in the world.

He looked up at Joey to see her smiling at him as she watched the two very carefully. Even though Daisy was only six hours old Joey noticed the way Pacey looked at their daughter it was gentle and sweet. The kind of love that he seemed to lack for so long and that Joey missed seeing.

Suddenly, the door opened to have Dawson coming in with Gail, and Mitch holding Lily. As soon as the three of them saw Daisy in Pacey's arms there was a huge smile on their faces. It was clear their daughter had the same effect on others just like she did with her parents.

"Oh my goodness," Gail whispered as Pacey handed Daisy back to Joey who softly rubbed her finger against her cheeks.

Joey looked at Dawson who gave Joey a small sad smile. She knew Dawson didn't come out of free will. He probably came because his parents wanted to.

"What's her name?" Dawson asked.

"Daisy Lillian Potter-Witter. It was a big discussion with the last name but she is a part of both of us." Joey answered.

Dawson wouldn't stop staring at Joey and Joey was smiling at Pacey and Gail. Pacey couldn't help but notice Dawson staring. He felt his lip tremble out of anger all of a sudden Dawson wanted Joey after she had a baby but when she was pregnant he wanted to do it with her. No, absolutely not.

Joey handed Daisy to Gail who happily took the baby girl.

"She looks so much like you, Pacey," Gail whispered as the baby girl let out a small yawn and the whole room let out a small awe as they watched Daisy. It didn't take long for the small cute yawn to turn into screams from the gas that she had been having. Joey frowned as she quickly put her hands out for her baby and Pacey watched as the two most important women in his life bond together.

The visit wasn't very long as Daisy continued to cry and Joey sing her softly to sleep. Pacey watched as Joey rubbed Daisy's stomach and sing to her without a care in the world how much sleep she had or could have. Pacey loved the way she was so selfless throughout everything. He slowly fell in love with the woman all over again.

It was now two days later, and Pacey pushed the wheelchair to the car with the nurses. He helped Joey in and then buckled with the nurses to help Daisy and then nervously got in the driver seat and stared at the rearview mirror to see Daisy sleeping in the car seat. Now was his time to be a father to be a real parent. His life changed so much in such a short time and as that thought came to him he looked over at Joey and suddenly knew Joey and him were now going to be counted on by one little girl for the rest of their lives.
