'I don't want to be here.' Percy Jackson thinks to himself as he enters his mother's apartment. He has just been expelled from another private school after getting in a fist fight with some brats that were talking shit about him. Now he has to move back in until he can enroll into another school. He opens the door thanks to his key and he is greeted by someone he hates.
"Oh good, the prodigal son is back." Percy's step-father Gabe Ugliano said sarcastically as he is once again, playing poker with his buddies. He is the reason Percy doesn't want to return to this house. They hated eachother and in fact, Percy likes going to boarding schools because his doesn't have to deal with Smelly Gabe.
"Gabe." Is all he greets the man with. Percy sees his mother in the kitchen and walks to her but not before Gabe grabs his wrist which almost has him deck the man for touching him.
"I believe you meant greetings Gabe sir. Anyway I need some cash to win this pot. Not like you need your lunch money, right?" His mocking makes Percy want to the slimy prick. But he sees his mother Sally give him a look. So he fishes out some fifties and throw them to Gabe and he release him and grab the cash.
"Alright boys, deal me in!"
Percy gives up on eating and marches to his old room with his mother following him. He enters his room and throws his bag to the ground. He drops himself to the bed as Sally enters to greet her son.
"Percy." She opens his arms to hug Percy which he does though reluctantly. Sally can tell that Percy is angry so she soothes him.
"It's okay, the school told me that you were defending me so they reverse your expulsion. You can go back."
"Damnit I'm not piss about that." Percy almost shouts which has Sally shock. "Why do you stay with that scumbag? He doesn't care about us, he is just using you for money and free labor."
"Percy please, I will tell you when you are older. You just have to trust me that this is for you." Sally said and it enrages him. That was the same excuse he always hears. When he is older, she will explain everything.
"Again with the mystery. All you tell me is this has to do with my dad. You can't keep telling me this. You need to tell me right now or I will kick him out myself." Percy said and Sally hugs her son. She wants to tell him the truth but if she does, they will come after him. She needs to wait until he is old enough.
"Please Percy. I will tell you when you are older but please believe me, I do this because I love you." Sally said, holding Percy's hands motherly. This makes Percy calm down but the moment is ruined once Gabe's shouting is heard.
"Sally! Where the hell is my beer?!"
Sally Jackson gets up to go to the kitchen but stops once Percy talks with a cold tone. "I fought those pricks because they were talking trash about you. How their dads and brothers are Gabe's friends and they were told stories about how you are nothing but a servant to Gabe and you love it. I beat them up because I was defending you but now, I'm starting to wonder."
This has Sally in tears and walk out. Percy knew he was being harsh but he can't stand seeing his mother reduce to this. Whatever the secret is better be worth this.
Later while Sally went outside to get groceries, Percy walks into the kitchen to grab a snack. He grabs an apple and begins cutting it with a sharp knife. That was until he hears Smelly Gabe gloating to his friends with a good hand.
"Hah! Pay up boys. Three of a kind!"
"I don't think so Gabe. Full house!" His opponent counters and it pisses Gabe off.
"Shit!" Percy smiles at Gabe being miserable though he seems to calm once he realize something.
"Well no matter, I can just get more money from Sally. You guys need a wife like her, she is a useful when she has to be. I owe her and her brat." Gabe gloats and him and his friends are laughing, mocking Percy and his mother. He clutches his knife, ready to use it on Smelly Gabe when there is a knock on the door. Sally enters with a bunch of men in blue following her.
"Gabe, I'm back with food."
"Well finally!" Gabe ungratefully said and begins to sweat once he sees the men in suits. "Uh.. Who are these guys?"
"Oh they said they are friends of yours from work." Sally explains, confuse why Gabe looks scared. Suddenly all of Gabe's friends begin to leave. All of them saying that they should get back to their families. They all walk out, making sure to not bump into the men.
One of them, in a blue trenchcoat, walks towards Gabe who is scared out of his mind. "M-mr. Stracci! I promised I would get your money back!"
The man known as Mr. Stracci punch Smelly Gabe in the beer belly. He kneels in pain which scares Sally and interested Percy.
"Yeah. You said that two weeks ago, well now you are going to have to pay in a different way!" He snaps his fingers and two of his made men grab him by the arms to take him outside. Though not before Gabe tries to bribe them in the worse way possible.
"Wait you guys want something to please you? Take Sally or hell that brat would be a nice toy, I'm not judging!" Gabe said to the disgust of everyone. They punch him and take him outside to give him a concrete nap in the East River. The Mafia Capo stays in the house with Percy and Sally. Sally goes to him to talk.
"Sir please. I'm sure we can discuss his payment. How much does he owe you?"
"Lady I'm sure that you don't have $3,000 just lying around." Mr. Stracci reveals the amount which shocks both of them. "Tubby thought that he can cheat in our poker game. We gave him time to get the money back with interest but he didn't deliver."
Sally thinks of a way to get Gabe back when Percy shouts at her. "Are you kidding me mom! You are going to try to pay off his debt?!"
"Percy please. Gabe is needed to keep you safe." She tries to explain without revealing his parentage. This makes Percy snap at her.
"I know the truth, you are weak mom! All you want is to be a servant. I don't need you or anyone!" Percy declares and runs out of the house, abandoning his mother to the Mob. This makes Sally Jackson kneel and cry. Mr. Stracci goes to her and pats her on the back.
"There. There. It was smart. Using Gabe's smell to camouflage the kid is something." He reveals he knows about the Greek life which shocks her. He takes off his hat to give her a look of sympathy. "Honey, I'm the biggest criminal in New York. Of course I am a son of Hermes. That kid will grow up thinking your weak when you are in fact the strongest gal I know if you can deal with Gabe. Sorry miss but you need to pay the debt. Nothing dirty of course."
Percy Jackson runs outside, wanting to get far away from it all. He keeps running until he finds himself in the Central Park, next to a statue of a man. He sits down, not knowing what to do. That was until a cloak figure holding a trident walk toward him. Percy gets up and is about to walk away when he is grab and slam into the base of the statue. The figure takes off his hood to show a single eye. "Demigod…"
The cyclops chokes Percy, trying to choke to life out of him. Percy's body move on his own and holds out his hand to a pond. Water comes out and hits the cyclops in the head. This stops the cyclops from choking Percy and makes him drop the trident which Percy grabs and stabs him through the eye.
The cyclops drops down with Percy looking down at his bloody weapon. This makes Percy have an epiphany. "Power is what matter. I refuse to be weak anymore. I will become the strongest and superior of all."
Percy Jackson walks away.
Over the years, Percy train to get stronger. He would become a monster hunter and kill monsters in exchange for money and spoils. His current mission finds himself in the Brooklyn Mall. Gone is the child and now he is a 16-year-old teenager, in a blue suit. His sea-green eyes have dulled as if he became a corpse.
He walks until he gets to a pond with a Hydra statue on top of it. A security guard sees Percy and notices a trident in his hands. "Sir, why are you holding a weapon?"
"I am waiting for the monster to come out." Percy answers, not caring if he believes him or not. It is the latter as the guard grabs to delusional teenager when the statue breaks. A giant Hydra is in its place and roars. This scares the guard and Percy walks sideways from the guard, who is quickly chomp down on by the Hydra. The serpent swallows the guard and begins to walk towards the demigod for a second meal and goes for another bite. Percy however closes his eyes and steps away from the bite and cleaves through the head by the neck.
The Hydra's head falls to the ground but its body keeps moving. Suddenly, two heads come out and they roar at Percy. It spits out acid but Percy spins the trident rapidly to block the acid. The Hydra heads then get between Percy and take a bite at him. Percy grabs one of them but the other bites a chunk of his flesh off the side of his stomach. He ignores the pain and grabs the head of the Hydra. He tosses it and it crashes through an elevator wall. The Hydra gets up and spits acid, luckily Percy dodges it but the acid hits another wall which dissolves it. The structure weakens which causes a side of the mall to collapse and it hits the monster.
Percy walks towards the down monster and lifts his trident. The two heads try to attack again but Percy rapidly thrust at both of them. "Feel the wrath of the wave!"
The Greek monster falls with multiple holes in its heads. The body dissolves, leaving just a head which he grabs and walks away. He walks to the food court and finds his employer drinking an ICE: A Hunter of Artemis. "Woof, you had a rough fight."
He tosses the head onto her table. Luckily she grabbed her drink before it is crushed. He holds out his hand for his prize. "Ambrosia. Now."
"Spoilsport. Thanks for doing my job." She jokes and pulls out a cup of special ambrosia. Percy takes and drinks it which closes his wounds and makes him stronger than before. The ambrosia he took is special as it enhances a Demigod's powers. It is in fact the only payment he wants when it comes with a job. The Hunter hired Percy as she was assigned by Artemis to take out the Hydra. Though she didn't say that she can't use a mercenary to do it for her.
"Those special ambrosia are hard to make. It could be years until more can be created." The Hunter warns Percy, who doesn't care.
"Then I will train and wait if it means getting stronger." He walks away, leaving the Hunter to have to drag the head to the camp by herself.
"Hmph! Ge! This will be harder than I thought." The Hunter sighs as she takes a flute and blows it. This summons two dears and she uses rope to tie the head to them. She climbs on top of the Hydra head rides them. "Okay guys, to Artemis."
Percy walks out of the mall and thinks of what to do next. He can go find another employer, perhaps those Titans he heard about. That was until a man with a hunchback, in a cloak comes to him. "Hello Percy Jackson."
"Who are you?" Percy prepares to kill this person in case this is another mercenary that was hired to take him down. The figure holds out his hand.
"Please, I come in peace. I have heard that you will take any contract for a price." The figure wonders and Percy nods to that. "What if it wasn't a monster but a demigod?"
This interest Percy as he doesn't go after demigods. He doesn't want the gods to discover him. But he wants to know the price. "Depends on what you will give me."
The figure pulls out a golden apple which puts Percy in a trance. He speaks to Percy in sweet words. "This is the very apple that Hera, Aphrodite and Athena fought for. It is a trophy to the gods but to a mortal…"
"It gives you immortality." Percy finishes which makes the figure have a hidden smile.
"If you kill this demigod, this will be yours. Immortality and the power that comes with it." The figure declares and Percy nods. However he sees a problem with it.
"Even if I do it, what is to stop the Olympians from killing me before I can get the apple?" Percy questions and the cloaked man gives him a piece of paper with writing on it.
"What you are looking at is a contract. If you sign it and kill the demigod, all you need to do is show it to the gods and they will let you go." The figure explains. Percy takes the contract and reads his target's name. With immortality, Percy will no longer be mortal. He will become a perfect god. No more weakness and flaws. He signs it.
"Tell me where is Thalia Grace and she will die."
Thalia, Luke, Grover and little Annabeth are getting close to Camp Half-Blood. Thalia is driving while Grover is at the passenger seat with Luke and Annabeth at the back. The Satyr looks at a sign and is happy. "Alright, we just enter Montauk. Trust me, Camp Half-Blood is going to be a nice home for you guys."
"I wish someone would be driving instead of me right now." Thalia complains as she, who got her permit awhile ago, is getting tired now. Luke shakes her shoulder to keep her awake.
"Pull over, I'll drive."
Thalia smiles thankfully and stops the car. Annabeth wakes up. "Gah! Are we at the Camp?"
"No Annie. We are just taking a break." Thalia assures her and she pouts at the nickname. Grover jokes as they start to switch seats.
"Yeah, I would do it but you know… Goat legs shouldn't be near pedals." Luke laughs and is about to enter the driver seat but he looks ahead to see Percy Jackson walking towards them.
"Hey Grover, are we suppose to meet someone before we get to the camp?" Luke ask which confuses Grover and alerts Thalia and Annabeth of a possible attack. They pull out their weapons as Grover walks to the stranger.
"Sir, is there a problem? We are just travelling."
"Silent Satyr. Give me Thalia and your lives will remain." Percy walks past Grover, who tries to keep up with him. He is getting closer to Thalia when Luke and Annabeth get between them.
"You and Hades will not hurt Thalia." Annabeth said but Percy doesn't care.
"Hades? No, I am above those pathetic gods." Percy arrogantly proclaims and thunder can be heard at a distance. Percy thrust his mighty trident at Thalia, who raises blocks with her Aegis shield to block it. Seeing the Medusa head startles Percy. 'What? Why am I afraid? I am not weak!'
Annabeth stabs the teenager in the arm and Thalia smashes her shield to his face. This knocks him back and gives Luke a chance to raise his sword, ready to decapitate him. Percy raises his head to dodge the strike. He clinches his trident and stabs Luke at blinding speed. "Wrathful Wave!"
"Luke!" Annabeth yells seeing her friend (and crush) collapse lifelessly. Thalia raise her shield to show the Medusa head. The head makes Percy afraid but he stabs it, breaking it in half and hitting her on the shoulder. Annabeth climbs on Percy's back and stabs him. Percy grabs her by the hair and slams her on the hood of the car. Thalia takes her spear and stabs him in the chest but he looks at her in eye, showing nothing but disgust at her.
"Die filth." Percy raise his trident to strike her down when lightning hits him, knocking the demigods and satyr back. The Olympians land on the street with Zeus, Hermes, and Athena enraged that their children has been harmed. The mercenary staggers but he refuses to fall, to kneel to these false gods.
"You shall for touching the child of a god! Poseidon." Zeus growls at this intruder for daring to assassinate his daughter and insulting him earlier.
Poseidon summons water and strikes Percy which slams him to the car. He grunts in pain but he will complete this mission no matter what. Hermes runs towards Percy to punch him in the face and grab Annabeth and Thalia to place them next to their parents. Zeus uses his Master Bolt and electrocutes Percy but he doesn't scream nor stop in moving his trident, using all his strength to move even as he is getting electrocuted. He speaks even as his body is disintegrating. "I will not fall to fake gods! I am superior to you bottom feeders!"
Zeus has had enough of this haughty mortal and so he calls upon all the power of the Master Bolt. A giant storm cloud hovers above them and strikes Percy with Golden Thunder. His body turns to ash but he still resists and throws his trident. Zeus sidesteps to dodge the weapon. The God of Thunder mocks the dying mortal. "You are nothing mortal. The fact you believe to be superior is treason that will be executed."
"Thalia!" Annabeth shouts with sadness. Zeus turns behind him to see Thalia impaled on her stomach. Annabeth is beside her holding her hand. Apollo kneels next to her and heals her. Zeus angrily glares at Percy, who smiles mockingly as his body turns to dust. Zeus, with nothing but rage and hate, punches the corpse until there was nothing but dust and a piece of paper. The God of Olympus orders his son Apollo to heal his daughter. "Heal him Apollo and I want to find out who's parent was that demigod!"
Poseidon looks down at his son's dust and is ashamed that his son became this monster. He needs to find a way to make sure they don't know he is his son. That is, until he notices a piece of paper on the dust. The God of Sea picks it up and reads it. Once he reads it, he has found a way. "Brother, this is a Norse contract. This child must be Einherjar."
"Of course!" Zeus shouts knowing the 'truth' "That damn one eye bastard must see my child as a threat! Dionysus, assemble Camp Half-Blood. We are going to war!"
"Eh sure. Their beer is good to take." Dionysus already has plans to steal them. The Gods and their children teleports to Olympus to attack Valhalla, leaving Poseidon and his son's dust.
"Sorry Percy. I will try to convince Hades to give you a peaceful afterlife." He said and teleports away. Unknown to him and everyone, a fly lands on the wreck car and transforms to reveal the cloaked figure that hired Percy. He throws away his cloak to show a Red Sox shirt. He pulls out the Golden Apple and it transforms back into a regular red apple and takes a bite into it. "Haha! I swear, demigods are easy to manipulate. Now how should I warn old brother? Brother, the Olympians have gone insane and are going to attack Valhalla. No no. Maybe I should wait until they attack then offer my service. Thanks kid for being a good tool. Have fun in hell."
Loki throws his apple at the dust and teleports away.
Percy opens his eyes and founds himself in a land he has never seen. He looks at his hands to see it is alright. He is confused as he thought he had died. That was until a blinding light appears in front of him, causing him to close his eyes. Once he opens them, he is infront of a gorgeous woman in a Japanese regal robe. She bows to Percy.
"Greetings Percy Jackson. I am Kaguya and I have brought you here to be a hero."
