I'm literally crying over this. This is the end of Arc One of this story, not the end of this story itself. But as I will be taking a break from publishing on this - How long should I take writing Arc two before publishing it? Tell me! - and crying my eyes out as I rewatch the trailer for How To Train Your Dragon Two as my story is now no longer able to compute with the movies. A week and two days later, I had just gone down to the storage hut when Dad called for me. "Venus, he's starting to wake up." He said. I shot up and smiled, bolting towards home. I skidded to a stop and opened the door just as Toothless stepped on his stomach. "Toothless!" I cried out, running to my breathless and now sitting up twin. The Night Fury looked at me with his ears pulled back slightly. "How are you doing?" I asked.

"H-He's in our house." Hiccup said, his green eyes wide. "Does dad know he's in here?" I chuckled as Toothless hung from a ceiling beam upside down.

"Of course!" I said, grinning at the black dragon. "But seriously, do you feel feverish or weak? Lightheaded?"

"Ven, why are you asking me this, I'm…" he dropped off as he tried to get up. He stopped though, as soon as he pulled the covers back. I sighed, a shudder making itself known in it. Toothless scrambled back and sniffed the prosthetic foot.

"Hiccup… we tried the best we could." I said. He nodded and got up only to sway. I lunged forward and caught him just as Toothless did.

"Thanks." He said. We went to the door and he opened it just as Shelltooth flew past. The door slammed shut and I laughed, though it was strained.

"Hiccup, if Dad knows Toothless is here, don't you think he'll know that there are tons of dragons outside?" I asked. I hopped outside and helped Hiccup out.

"Hiccup's up!" Someone yelled. Oh yes, let's just all gather around the two heroes when they least needed it.

"I knew it. I'm dead." Hiccup said. Dad laughed and rested a hand on his shoulder.

"No, but you gave it your best shot." He said. "To think, all we needed was a little more of this."

"But you just motioned to all of me." Hiccup said, his eyes widening even more. I smiled at the small gesture and my smile grew even more as Toothless came out of the house. I backed into the crowd as Astrid landed beside the two. "You ready bud?" Hiccup asked after patting Toothless' side. He winked and nodded at my brother and the two quickly took off.

'This is Berk. It snows nine months of the year and hails the other three. Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so. The only upside is our new-found companions. While most have pets like ponies or parrots or friends who are just there to be there, we have...'

I heard Toothless roar and I smiled, going back home and grabbing my journal and knapsack of clothes.

"Dragons." I murmured aloud. I opened the back door and ran into the forest, only stopping at the glade. I let my hand run across the rugged rock as I walked down the path, inhaling the scent of pine and fresh water. I didn't expect anyone to be in the glade, so I was shocked to see a thin woman with orange hair and green eyes leaning over the water. My mind jarred to a halt as she looked up and towards me with wide eyes.

"Venny?" She half whispered, half asked. She stepped forward as I stepped back, unable to stand the pain. One word slipped from my mouth.

"Mummy?"
