AF: I'M ALIVE!
Venus: Ah! Y no updates?!
AF: Well~...
I've been busy... August 4th was OKCPS start date, so instead of updating, I woke up at six and went to school at seven thirty. My father keeps trying to get custody of me, which I don't want, and it's stressing me out of the universe. My sister and her husband disowned my mom and said she would die alone and my other sister has attitude issues 24/7 when it comes to anything other than herself so...
HERE'S THE NEW CHAPTER!
AU; Venusar Haddock just completed the first half of the Prophecy of the Night, a prophecy that brings peace to those who only believe. Now Venus finds herself doubting her forms as she helps her friends in trouble, the greek Half-bloods in the year 2009. Of course, things aren't always easy as Hiccup and Toothless search for her. Arc One complete - Now on Arc 2! Multiform!Toothless/OC and shameless Hicstrid
Venus woke up to people murmuring. With a groan, she sat up and threw her legs over the edge of the cot, her silver curls shinning and flowing loosely as they fell into her face. With a growl, she looked for the leather straps she used to pull her hair back, but couldn't find it. Taking a deep breath and slowly standing up, the Dragon Shifter walked out of the medical area and saw that most of the Half-bloods in the camp paused to look at her. She tilted her head and started at all of them until she spotted a familiar face. With a wide grin, she jumped off of the porch and jogged to where Percy and Annabeth were. "Here's trouble." She joked once she reached them.
Percy laughed while Annabeth smiled. "It's nice to see you're up." She said. "Who did you talk to?" Venus' smile disappeared and she rolled her eyes.
"I have to go live with my uncles and aunts if that gives you any clue." She answered sourly. "Ares was my mother's father, so I have to sleep in his cabin."
"You could almost be a god yourself though." Nico said, emerging from the shadows. Venusar's eyes widened and she quickly shook her head, looking up at the sky in fright.
"No… I couldn't. Even if I could, I wouldn't. Being alive until you fade? That would be torture. It's bad enough I have to answer to my own father if I ever go back to Berk, but add being a goddess on top of that?" She said before shaking her head in a more calm state. "So… what all happened?"
"So this is where you've been all of these years? Rescuing them?" Hiccup asked as Nótt tried to get Cloudjumper to play. I laughed loosely, making both of the coo at me. As mom explained how she rescued almost every dragon, I had walked to the edge and noticed a rather large dragon. Like, even bigger than Hátign ever was.
"Every nest needs a queen, but he's the King of All dragons." Mom was saying. "Everyone here listens to him." There were titters and I turned just to get bowled over by younglings. "Except the young ones. They don't listen to anyone." The younglings grew tired of me and literally climbed all over the king. I turned to grin at Nótt – was this a good time to tell him? – To see a little one gnawing on his tail.
"Venus, help." He moaned. I just giggled and gently pried the youngling off. She didn't complain and in fact snuggled in my arms.
"She never does that." Mom said, her brows furrowing in confusion. "She only likes the hatching fe-." The youngling quickly flew off so I could wrap my arms around my stomach. "How? You're only twenty!" Nótt chittered and nuzzled me, moving my arms to smell my abdomen. A sudden look of giddiness crosses over his face.
"Mom, what are you talking about?" Hiccup asked.
"Your sister is pregnant."
I snapped awake in a cold sweat, my hands twitching to do something other than just sit here, twiddling my thumbs and wait for Kronos to attack. I threw the covers off of me and gently lowered myself to the cold floor. I padded out of the cabin and towards the lake, grabbing a stick similar to a staff. I started to trace random symbols in the stones, half of it being Dragonese while the other half was an old form of Icelandic. I finished the symbols and began to practice the self-defense the Elder insisted I had. There was a rumble and I fell on my arse, looking at the ocean fearfully. No, no I didn't mean to upset Poseidon! A second later, Percy and Annabeth raced over the hill and the water receded a good four inches.
"What did you do?!" Annabeth yelled to Percy.
"It wasn't me!" The demigod complained.
I scrambled back as a dragon smaller than Hátign appeared. "I didn't mean to!" I finally screeched. The battle was still fresh in my memory, the stench of blood, both dragon and human along with my brother's blood. No, it was too much too soon. The dragon purred slightly and leaned her head down to smell me.
"Do not fear little one. You called me, for if it was not you Hátign would have control." She cooed.
"V-Venusar, what is that?" Percy asked. I quickly relayed the question even more timidly.
"I am a beta, second in charge if our hive leader falls." She answered. I shrank back as I realized she had talked about Hátign. "Fear not. I do not support Hátign."
"She's a beta, second in charge." I said, relaxing some. "She keeps insisting that I called her, but I didn't."
"Can't you send her back?" Annabeth asked, her grey eyes betraying her nervousness.
"I can try." I murmured. "Please, there is someone you can aid. My mother, Valhallarama, she needs your help. It's been brought to my sight that she may have the King of All dragons with no beta."
"Valhallarama? That is a name us dragons haven't heard in a while. Do you mean Valka?"
"Yes, I mean her." I said in English, nodding to the dragon. "Please, go to her. If I am correct, she has an alpha in need of a beta." The beta nodded and I felt my head begin to pound. Something was very wrong here. My dream had nothing to do of a Beta, so why was she here? In fact, why could I barely remember the dream?
Fixing her silver hair that was in a braid, Venus sighed as she walked through the throngs of sleeping people, looking at them sadly before beginning to move most. "Venusar, what are you doing?" Grover asked. She had been there when he woke up, startling her when she heard the he was the Lord of the Wild.
"When these people wake, and they will if I know the titans well, they will be right in the middle of battle. I've seen enough death already. I do not wish to count so many innocents to the already long, blood covered list that I have."
"Those deaths on Dragon Island weren't your fault." The Satyr said firmly. "The battle was bound to happen."
"And if I had done what I was told to those years ago? To lead them back to the Nest and slay the dragons where they slept? What would've happened then?" Venus demanded, rounding on him sharply.
"Death. Death to all who were upon that isle, you brother, best friend, and yourself included." Grover answered seriously. "You and your brother are connected by a bond. As Lord of the Wild, I can tell that if you were injured, he would feel it. If you were sick, he would be as well. If you were to die-."
"Yeah, I get the picture, but what about Toothless? Why would he die?" Venusar demanded.
"Who?"
"The Night Fury!" She growled. Grover smiled.
"You'll have to be better than that. There's hundreds of Night Furies." He answered, making her resemble a gold fish. "But if you meant the one you grew up with, him and his mother would've tried to fight Hátign and died for their defiance." Venus shivered and looked at the sky sadly. Everything was so… quiet.
"Quiet before the storm…" She murmured. "Gods… Percy! Annabeth!" She screamed. Taking off, she raced towards the Empire State Building. "Calm before the storm! He's about to attack." She panted, making the two share a wide eyed look. "You'll need some in Olympus, just in case he makes it there." She warned.
Percy cursed in Greek and ran a hand through his hair. "I didn't think about that! We don't have a lot of campers left." He said in sorrow, looking over the thin ranks.
"If we got Ares Cabin-." Annabeth tried. Venusar grimaced, remembering the harsh spat between Ares and Apollo's cabins over a flying chariot. Why her lead Aunt thought it best not to help, she'll never know. Percy cut her off with a look. "Percy, we have Venus! She's their niece! If anyone can talk them into it, it's her!"
"Except it'll be too late by the time I got there, flying as fast as I can." Venusar cut in, shaking her head. "I can take a handful, five at the most. My Night Fury form should be able to hold him off long enough, but you'll have to be quick, if he's anything like the tales say he is."
"And how will we know it's you and not a dragon that he created?" Annabeth asked, crossing her arms smartly. Venusar smirked.
"I have the ability to change my scale colors, so I think I'll stand out pretty well." She answered before grabbing five wounded – though not too badly, mind you – Hermes children and the six went towards Olympus. An odd sense to dread washed over her and she looked outside of the elevator just as a familiar black mess landed outside of the building, making her take a hopeful step forward. "Hiccup!" And the doors closed just as the other twin looked up.
"Who was that?" A son of Hermes asked as they made a small barrier in the pavilion. "The boy with the black dragon?"
"My twin." She answered with an impish grin. It faded though. "We haven't been away from each other since I was told I was the Dragon Shifter. I was told we'd be separated by twenty days of travelling. I suppose that would place us here, at the Final Battle between Gods and Titans, the demi-gods stuck between them once more."
"And what about you? Is the rumor true? Are you Ares' granddaughter?" A daughter of Hermes asked. Venus rolled her eyes. Gossipers, all of them!
"And if it is?" She snapped. The five grinned and high fived. "What?"
"We've never seen a granddaughter of a god before, unless you count Lord Zeus being your grandfather around here. Us demi-gods rarely make it past thirty." A daughter answered snootily, flipping her obnoxiously long bright blonde hair. Venus rolled her eyes once more and fixed her braid. She would never get used to it, but it felt… right. "Do you dye your hair?"
"No."
"Eat eel?"
"Gods no."
"Have a crush?"
Venus wisely stayed silent and grabbed a bow testing her aim at a target. It was unfortunately true, making the other demanded that she teach them. At least, until the entire city shook. Jumping over the barrier, she saw a blond man stepping out. She knew him well. And so did his siblings, who gained a sour and hateful look.
"Venusar?" He whispered, his eyes flashing to a familiar blue. "You're dreaming, right?"
"I've been at Camp Half-Blood for the past twenty days." She answered coolly. A smile played on his lips and he took a nonthreatening step forward. His siblings didn't see it that way and tightened their grips on their weapons. "You've poisoned that body Kronos. It's time for you to return to the pit you were rightfully placed in." His eyes quickly became gold again, signaling that he was no longer in control.
"And what are you going to do about it little one?" Kronos snarled.
"What did you say?" The girl, Jess, asked.
"Erm, more like what I didn't say." Venus answered, looking at them. "Run. I'll deal with him."
"But you'll be killed!" Henry protested.
"I'm stronger than I look." Venus corrected. "Now run!" The five hesitated, but took off as she begun to shift once more. With a shake of her head, she opened her eyes. The Titan purred and stalked forward, a half black and half bronze sword appearing from nowhere. Well damn.
'Get up here NOW Perce!' She yelled mentally as her back hit a pillar. "N-now w-wait a m-minute," she said, feeling ashamed to be reduced to a stammering pile of… well, you get the image, but a metal sword pressed against my neck does that. Kronos smirked and pressed the tip harder against her skin.
"And tell me why, little god, should I?" He purred, making her freeze. L-little god? She knew that if he had said 'little goddess' she would've gotten the wrong image, but… there was no mistaking the 'little god'. Still, it took all twelve council gods just to have the Titan under Everest distracted! How was she supposed to stall the king of them all?
Life's a cruel b*tch...
and so am I!
