Summary: She has the kind of smile that puzzles even the greatest minds. Even the mind of, one, Dr. Gregory House. House/Cuddy.

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine. All characters belong to David Shore and his people. There. I don't even claim the title... that belongs to Leonardo DaVinci.

You can see right into a person through their eyes. It is one of the few intimate acts that you can have with a stranger. To me, eye contact is as essential as oxygen, and I have never feared it.

Not until I met her.

For she sees things differently than others.

When we lock eyes, even for that split second, she has me figured out. And, even though I look away, hiding behind my endless words, her gaze still lingers on. Even though she gives an exasperated sigh and shakes her head, she knows my thoughts. Knows my every move, even before I do it. She does not stop me and cage me up like the wild animal that I am. Instead, she allows me to go, because she respects what I do.

I think she sees into my soul. As hard as I have tried, I have yet to see hers. I have had hints when she wears her heart on her sleeves. Apart from that, I am closer to discovering the meaning of life than discovering anything more about her.

I do know one thing. She certainly can injure me with my own medicine. That smirk that I see all too clearly in the mirror each morning can creep onto her face at any moment of any day. I think it is her way of telling me that I am not ready. Not yet worthy enough for her.

The smirk will slowly fade into a simple smile. This smile can puzzle even the greatest minds. It is as beautiful as a glass window, as shattered as a mosaic, as sincere as a Picasso, and as confusing as the Mona Lisa.

She is my Mona. She is my Lisa.
