The scene opens with Hiccup and Toothless flying high. Despite a day passing, Hiccup's eyes are still red and teary. The only thing his mind could compute was everyone now hating him. That had to be the worst time of his life, a time he prayed he would never relive.
"I'm never going back," he groans under his breath.
Toothless couldn't help but notice how sad he was. The dragon landed before allowing Hiccup to climb off his back. Hiccup sat by a tree before placing his head in his knees. He started crying again, mind still fogged with shame and humiliation.
The night fury walked over to comfort his viking. He nuzzled Hiccup's shoulder before licking his head. Hiccup looked at him before wiping his eyes clean. This made Hiccup smile a little, making Toothless happy.
"Thanks bud," he said before giving Toothless a pat.
Hiccup cleaned his eyes again before giving Toothless another pat. Toothless was always able to get Hiccup in a better mood. Even when he feels like absolutely trash, Toothless puts a smile on Hiccup's face. They're love was equivalent to a boy and his dog.
Seeing Hiccup was doing better, Toothless got up. The dragon noticed an apple tree nearby. He climbed up the tree until reaching the fruits. He grabbed one before returning to the ground. Toothless then handed him the apple.
"Thanks Toothless," he said.
Toothless made a happy sound with his eyes full of color. Hiccup took a big bite of the apple. The fruit was very fresh and tasted like heaven. This was just what he needed, making Hiccup even happier. After he finished, he began walking.
"Let's go, bud," he told.
Toothless followed him, wherever they may go. Berk was the last place Hiccup wanted to be at that moment. In fact, he may never want to return to Berk ever. The big question is will he? The answer: Unsure.
Meanwhile
Merida rides Angus through the woods. Angus was now walking at a steady pace, trying to make it easier for Merida to calm down. Unfortunately she was still crying into his neck, face buried in. The princess was crying so hard, Angus' neck fur was drenched in tears. He had to do something soon.
Angus stopped before turning his head to Merida. The redhead ignored him before jumping off. She picked up a rock before throwing it at a tree. She then stomps on the ground and yells loudly. Merida also kicked sticks and hit a tree.
"Why does she treat me like a slave?!" she asks while yelling. "I'm nothing but an object for her!"
Merida slipped in some mud before falling to the ground, back first. Seeing her dress dirty made her even more upset. She covers her face with her hands before continuing to cry. She didn't even bother to leave the mud with how upset she was.
Giving her a few minutes to let her tears out, Angus goes over. He sniffs Merida's head before licking her. Merida looks at him with red eyes, but is able to smile. She holds his cheek before placing their heads together.
"Thanks Angus," she said.
Whenever Merida was down, she could always count on her horse to brighten her day. Even if the sun had set, Angus made her day shine more than the sun ever could. His smile made her smile, always and forever will. The love between a girl and her horse is truly indestructible.
Merida stood up before grabbing a towel she had in the saddle bag. After wiping herself clean, Merida looks in the saddle bag again. She gets even happier when seeing her spare bow with plenty of arrows
"Let's go, Angus," she said.
She guides her horse through the depths of the forest. Merida was unsure if she'd ever return home. As strong as her love for her father and brothers was, the state she was in with her mother was too much. Merida then thought: maybe she should just live this way.
Scene changes to Jack and Rapunzel
The two were now through the forest while being very engaged in their conversation. In fact they had been on the same subjects for about an hour now. Who'd ever thought a few conversations could light someone up.
"You've painted all that on your walls?!" Jack asked in a shocked tone.
"Yep!" Rapunzel answered with a smile. "It took me forever, but it was so worth the wait!"
"I'm impressed, Rapunzel," he said. "You're lucky to be multi-talented in art!"
"Thanks, Jack!" she said. "You do incredible art yourself with snow and ice!"
"Aww, please, it's nothing," he replied back.
"No, I mean it!" she said. "I really do! We should find a way to combine our art sometime!"
Though neither showed it, being able to talk with someone meant so much. After being alone for most of their lives, isolated from the world, this was amazing. They might not have realized it fully yet but they both understood each other's pain perfectly. Two strangers, now two close friends.
"With how we're going, we should be at the castle in no time!" Razpunel said excitedly.
"Yeah, time flies when you have fun," Jack said.
They continue their quest to the castle, unable to compute negative thoughts or emotions. This was a moment of pure happiness, one they dreamt of for many years. To think it would actually become a reality.
Middle of the forest
Hiccup and Toothless walked at a steady pace. Hiccup was feeling a lot better after Toothless helped out. The viking stopped when hearing people talking. He put his hand in front of Toothless, telling him to stop.
"Get behind the bush, bud," he said.
The two hid behind the bush before looking through it. They saw Jack and Rapunzel walking back. Hiccup placed his finger on his lips, telling his dragon to be quiet. Them seeing Toothless could cause some serious commotion.
Frost stopped after smelling something very unusual. He looked around and listened closely to his surroundings. He knew something wasn't right and a possible threat was close.
"What's wrong, Jack?" the princess asked.
"Get behind me," he tolds.
Rapunzel did as she was told before getting her frying pan out. Jack aimed his stick forward while moving it around. Toothless got in a pressing stance, but Hiccup stopped him. Unfortunately that sound gave them off to Jack.
"Come out with your hands up!" the guardian called.
Before Hiccup could make peaceful contact, Toothless jumped out of the bush. The dragon got in a fighting stance before growling at Frost. Jack prepared himself, knowing this wasn't gonna be easy.
"A dragon?!" he asked with much surprise. "Gotta keep my guard up!"
Jack aimed his stick over as it began to shine. Toothless inhaled, getting ready to shoot fire at him. Fire vs ice, two sworn enemies have come face-to-face. Only one outcome was going to happen.
"Oh my god!" Rapunzel called.
She dashed over and gave Toothless a hug. The dragon's mood changed before falling on the ground. He rolled on his back, allowing Rapunzle to rub his belly.
"You're so cute!" she said.
Toothless waved his legs around before retracting his teeth. He laughed with Rapunzel who kept rubbing his belly. Jack stood in shock, beyond amazed how she was able to do this. Hiccup sighed in relief before coming out.
"I'm sorry about my dragon," he said.
"Wait, this dragon is yours?" Jack asked. "How were you able to tame it?"
"Yeah, long story," Hiccup said while rubbing his neck.
"Huh," Jack replied, still puzzled.
"Can I ride him?!" Rapunzel asked in a happy tone.
"Sure, but we'll need to-"
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Rapunzel interrupted before hugging Hiccup.
"Is she with you?" the viking asked.
"Yes, we're together," Jack answered.
Not too far away, Merida and Angus heard Rapunzel's cheers. She looked aside to see Rapunzel playing with Toothless. This got Merida both very confused and curious.
"Is that a girl playing with a dragon?" she asked.
Merida and Angus decided to go check what was going on. Her arrival got the attention of Hiccup and Jack. Hiccup got nervous when seeing Merida.
"You?" Merida asked.
"Uh, hey, what's up?" Hiccup asked, trying to stay calm.
"What's going on here?" Merida asked.
Rapunzel ran over and held her hand out.
"Hi, my name's Rapunzel!" she said. "So nice to meet you!"
Merida was still weirded out, but decided to shake her hand. Rapunzel shook at a fast pace full of energy. After letting go, blondie began to explain things to Merida.
"That's Jack," she told before pointing at him. "Him and I are walking to a castle. We just came across this nice young boy and his pet dragon!"
"You have a pet dragon?!" Merida asked Hiccup. "How were you able to train it, let alone catch it?! Is this some kind of secret plan you and the vikings have against us?!"
"Wow, take it easy, babe!" Jack told.
"What was that?" Merida asked.
"Hey, you're a pretty girl," he complemented.
"You're not my type, geezer," she said.
"Hey, what do you mean geezer?!" Jack snapped. "I'm physically 18!"
Jack then froze in place before realizing something.
"You guys can see me too?" he asked.
"Uh, yeah," Hiccup answered.
"You believe in me?!" Jack asked.
Hiccup and Merida looked at him with akwarded expressions.
"What do you mean 'believe in you'?" Merida asked.
"Something's wrong, humans like you shouldn't be able to see me," he said.
"Humans?" Rapunzel asked in a confused tone. "Aren't you a human too?"
"Yeah, kinda," Jack answered.
"Okay, let's get things straight. You have a pet dragon?" Merida asked while pointing at Hiccup.
"Yes, I do," Hiccup answered before nodding.
"And you are supposed to be an invisible man?" she asked Jack.
"To you guys at least," Jack answered.
"Do you have any special powers or pets?" Merida asked Rapunzel.
"Uh, that's kinda personal," Rapunzel answered.
They all looked at Merida, worried she thought they were freaks.
"Well, I've seen fairies and giant bears," Merida said. "You guys aren't much different.
"That means we all have a special gift!" Rapunzel cheered.
She covered her mouth, worried her secret got out.
"Do you think we'll hand you over to some creepy wizard?" Jack asked. "We all have something different here."
Realizing they all shared a similar thing, Rapunzel knew it wasn't right to worry. The blonde princess walked to the middle of everyone. She gave them all a smile, getting their attention.
"Let's all travel together!" she said.
"What?" Merida asked.
"Yeah," Rapunzel replied. "It will be fun! All of us together on a journey! We can help each other with our goals too!"
"She makes a point," Jack said.
"I appreciate the offer," Merida said. "But there's no way I'm working with a Viking Tube!"
Hiccup gave her an annoyed expression as Toothless growled.
"Hey, that wasn't nice!" Rapunzel said with a pout.
"Take it easy, lady!" Jack added.
"Can we please put the Viking and Scottish hatred behind us?" Hiccup asked.
"If the Eejit's coming, then I'm out!" she snaps.
"Come on, give him a chance!" Rapunzel said.
"Too late, bye!" Merida said.
She gets on Angus before facing the others.
"I bid you farewell," she said.
And with that, the Scottish Princess walked off on her horse. The other three look at her with unamused faces. Jack faceplams as Toothless keeps growling.
"Well, that's a member down," Frost added.
"Can't seem to let go of a grudge, can she?" Hiccup asked.
"So mean, really mean!" Rapunzel pouts.
Trying to get people in a better mood, the Viking faces them.
"Is it too late for us to join your side?" he asks.
"No, not at all!" Rapunzel answers. "We would love to have you accompany us!"
"Please, join us," Jack added.
"Thank you," Hiccup replied.
Rapunzel gave Toothless another hug which he returned. He licked her across the face, making her chuckle. His saliva got in her golden hair in the process.
"Where are my manners?" Hiccup asked. "Name's Hiccup."
"Frost," he replied. "Jack Frost."
They shook hands with smiles.
"This is my dragon, Toothless," he introduced.
"And I'm Rapunzel!" she said before standing up. "We're gonna have so much fun together!"
"Where are you guys heading?" Hiccup asked.
"To a castle," Rapunzel answered. "I think the people there have answers to my questions."
"Interesting," Hiccup said.
"Hold on," Jack said as he got a great idea. "You can fly with Rapunzel on your dragon, right?"
"Yes, but there's only room for two," Hiccup answered. "I'd hate to leave you behind."
Jack floated into the air and stood there. Hiccup and Toothless' eyes popped open before their jaws dropped. They were frozen in shock, making Jack and Rapunzel giggle.
"Y-y-you can fly?!" Hiccup asked.
"Yes, so no need to worry about me!" Jack said with a chuckle.
"In that case," Hiccup said before facing his dragon. "Toothless."
He got on Toothless before Rapnzel sat behind him. The princess gave the viking a hug, ready for take off. Frost stood next to them, gonna fly when they did.
"All ready?" Hiccup asked.
"YES!" Rapunzel cheered.
"I'm good to go!" Jack replied.
Toothless nodded for his response.
"Then let's get going!" Hiccup said full of excitement.
They flew to the skies at high speeds. They dashed over the forest through some clouds. All four were so happy and lost in the moment. Rapunzel was cheering, Jack chuckling, with Hiccup and Toothless smiling. After feeling alone for so long, they had a connection with people. And just the group they needed.
