Heh. Sorry.
I own nothing :(
"Tell me what you have seen." Arwen ran through the halls of Rivendell to her father's study, arriving with all the grace only an elf could have managed.
Elrond stood in shock. "Arwen."
"You have the gift of foresight. What did you see?" She asked, moving to stand opposite him.
"I looked into your future, and I saw death." He spoke solemnly.
He retook his seat and she knelt at his feet, desperation in her words. "But there is also life. You saw there was a child! You saw my son!"
"That future is almost gone." He admitted gloomily.
"But it is not lost."
"Nothing is certain." She reached up to gently touch his face. "Some things are certain. If I leave him now, I will regret it forever. It is time." She stood and left the room, her father slowly following. They came to the chamber where the shards of Narsil were kept and then into another room where she took a book down and opened it.
"From the ashes a fire shall be woken. A light from the shadows shall spring. Renewed shall be blade that was broken. The crownless again shall be king." She read. "Reforge the sword, Ada."
Elrond didn't answer. She sat down heavily and dropped the book that was in her hands. The Elven Lord approached her and picked it up.
He felt her hands and lowered them down in front of her. "Your hands are cold. The life of the Eldar is leaving you." He choked out.
"This was my choice. Ada, whether by your will or not, there is no ship now that can bear me hence." She whispered tearfully.
He nodded, grief painting his every movement, before moving to retrieve the broken sword he would deliver to his daughter's lover.
Far away, a hobbit pledged himself to a mad steward, dismay seen on the face of not only the wizards face but also the visage of that same steward's favored son.
"The beacons of Minas Tirith! The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!"
Aragorn yelled as he ran into the hall where the rest of the company were waiting. Rin jumped slightly at the loud noise, startled from the dice he'd been playing (and winning, devil's luck) with Gimli. Théoden looked up from a map. Éowyn ran to stand next to Éomer. Everyone watched for Théoden's reaction.
Théoden paused, and then calmly proclaimed. "And Rohan will answer!" Éowyn and Éomer looked relieved. So did Gimli, as he cleaned up the game, scooping up dice and placing them securely in his bag.
Kuro scowled. Rin, tell him that we have to continue the game. You could buy me fresh fish.
Then, Rin?
Legolas had come over and offered him a hand up, smiling down at him brilliantly. Rin flushed slightly and took it.
Ugh, you're distracted.
"Shush, Kuro."
Rin spotted Aragorn and Éowyn leading out their horses.
"Will you ride with us?" the ranger asked as Éowyn turned to her horse to readjust it's saddle.
"Just to the encampment. It's tradition for the Women of the Court to farewell the men." Aragorn lifted up the saddle blanket of her horse to reveal her sword. Éowyn snatched it back down, hiding the sword again.
"The men have found their captain. They will follow you into battle, even to death. You have given us hope." She turned away.
Getting all the gossip, Rin?
"Like you aren't watching. Even Legolas is watching. It's interesting."
Rin's attention shifted to his right, as Merry knelt before Théoden. "Excuse me. I have a sword. Please accept it. I offer you my service, Théoden King." Théoden pulled Merry up to his feet. "And gladly I accept it. You shall be Meriadoc, esquire of Rohan." A smile ran across the face of Merry as he ran off.
Legolas tapped his arm softly, and he realized the elf had left his side and gained a steed. They both mounted the horse, Rin wrapping his arms around the elven prince yet again as they prepared for the long trip.
Many a man of Rohan stared as Kuro enlarged and Gimli sat on the Cat Sidhé.
"Horse-masters." Gimli sniffed in annoyance,"I wish I could muster a legion of Dwarves, fully armed and filthy."
"Your kinsmen may have no need to ride to war. I fear war already marches on their own lands." Legolas answered, even as they watched the Rohirrim riders riding off as Merry tried to get his pony to go.
"That's too bad." Rin laughed at the image that passed through his mind. "I wouldn't mind a few more Gimlis. We'd be overflowing with comic relief." Legolas laughed freely, and he heard Gimli grumble something behind him.
I would mind a few more Gimlis, his cat grumbled.
Rin sighed slightly as he walked through the camp that had been set for the night.
"What troubles you, nin mel?"
He flushed slightly at the nickname, his hand reaching up to rub the back of his neck. "E-eh, well…" he stopped walking and looked at the elven prince unsurely. He gazed back calmly, with nothing but his concern for the half-demon in his eyes.
"I just … when this is all over, and we've won… '' he trailed off, uncertainty tainting his voice.
Legolas's eyes widened slightly, before a smile (slightly more uncertain than usual, although this was well hidden) spread across his face. "I had hoped that perhaps I would ask for your hand in courtship, if all goes well."
Rin felt a heat rise to his cheeks and glanced away. Then he sniffed faux haughtily, crossing his arms and feigning confidence as butterflies swirled in his stomach. "Perhaps I would say yes. Then what?"
He looked back to see Legolas smiling even wider at him, a sparkle in his eyes. "Well, I would have to convince my father. You wouldn't happen to be royalty, would you?" He said in jest.
Rin looked up at him with wide eyes. "How'd ya know that?"
He was returned a shocked glance, and then a joyful laugh as he was picked up and held in a close embrace. "Oh, you are a wonder!"
Rin scowled up at the mountain they had stopped under.
"I don't like it, Kuro."
Of course you don't, it's awful.
It really was. The fearsome crag of earth loomed over the campsite, and looked incredibly intimidating in the morning mist that had settled over the gloomy campsite.
"At least we don't have to go through this one." He stated aloud.
He then noticed Legolas, who had been walking over to him from Aragorn and Gimli, stop and look at him with a somewhat guilty expression.
Crap.
-_-; hehe sorry bout that
