Everybody's Fool

Chapter 1: Past

Kimberly had been used to getting what she wanted. It's what was expected. She wanted, she got. Never before had she been faced with a tough decision, other than whether or not to go ahead and wear her white sweater after Labor Day. She made friends, she knew everyone. Basically, life was perfect.

She was perfect by nature, similar to an icon of self-indulgence, which she could afford. Until some floating, bubble-headed freak from another planet chose her to be some screeching dino-bird. To be honest, she did not want to jump around in pink spandex. She'd never even shown a liking to the color pink, though her wardrobe consisted of a lot of it. Truly, her favorite color was purple.

But she did what the blue head wanted her to. And after a while, she'd come to like hanging out with Zack, Billy, Trini, and especially Jason Lee Scott. Yes, she'd had a thing for the martial arts guru since freshman year began. It all changed when Tommy came into the picture.

After some time, she fell in love with Tommy, and of course, she stuck by him. Through his power loss as the Green Ranger, to his rising up to the White Ranger, she was there. Life was perfect multiplied by ten. She had all her friends, Tommy's powers were fine, her powers were fine, her zord was great. Everythingperfect.

Why did Jason have to apply for that damn World Peace Conference. She never knew how great of a friend he was until he was gone. She missed Trini. She missed Zack. But she longed for Jason to come back…he was a form of support for her—her original leader. But time healed her wounds…or merely covered them.

As time went on, she made friends with Aisha, Adam, and Rocky, though none of them would ever take the originals' place in her heart, they were fine replacements. Lifeperfect.

When Rita came back, Kim was pretty sure she'd be defeated for good. Everything she threw at them, even with Zedd's help, was pretty much useless. When Rita's brother showed up, he destroyed their zords, and Kim felt a gap in her. Her zords…something she didn't even really want at first. Hell, that Pterodactyl was a screeching dino-bird last time she checked…but she loved it…it was a part of her. And that Firebird was almost as useless as the Pterodactyl, since it really didn't help the Megazord much…but it was a part of her…like the Pterodactyl.

It was then she realized how much she'd grown—evolved almost. She was good at making people think what she wanted them to. They thought she was a good girl. Even after acquiring her Nina Powers and proving she was more than a match for any monster, she called out for Tommy's help…because she could do that. It was what was expected of her, and she was good at making people think she needed their help. It was her plan. She never expected that bitch Kat to ruin it.

Her plans got miscalculated when she showed up. Even when Kim decided to participate in the Pan Global Games, she never thought Tommy would actually let her go. Her plan was falling apart. She was losing everyone. She was no longer on top…no longer the queen of the rangers. She was replaced. And she left. For good. To Florida, and felt empty. But…she made people think that lifePerfect.
