He was frozen, not burnt.
I rubbed my head embarassed. The air was pretty misty and I couldn't see well, and I guess the physics of it had shocked me but I had really forgotten how this trap worked.
The pipes you had to press your face on to access the key were freezing, not boiling.
I blushed, feeling so embarrassed, as Adam reached up to unlock my keys.
"I was just joking." Adam said. "Trying to lighten the mood. You seemed so confident before. You don't need to look so embarrassed."
I looked at him and blinked. I blinked again.
"Oh, the nudity thing. Yes, bad you. Anyway, I am cold, so I'm gonna go grab some clothes."
I could feel the tug. I was being pulled to my next body. But I wasn't gonna go. I didn't want to have pig slopped over me, and I was flush with power. I hopped over the crate locking the door and looked over the area behind. There were a bunch of construction machines lying around. Perfect. I began ripping the leather and wiring away, and started to make myself a suit, spot welding it with focused bursts of fire. I also ripped away some of the unsecured pipes, and began fashioning a weapon.
Adam and Jeff chatted to me a bit, and I was friendly but mostly dismissive. I was exploring my new blessed by maturin power. With Stamina flush within me, my powers were recharging. My single use powers were being restored. I could do this. I summoned several key parts with my various powers.
A little later I was ready.
Meathouse Mail. A mad collection of parts ripped from a forklift, fused together with hope, dreams, and wishes. 110/110 health. 15 armor. Returns a portion of any melee damage upon the enemy.
It was spikey, and very well made. Having a C level skill let me get three blessings, which I had pushed to buff the health 10%, the 50%, and add the spikes that would dig into anyone grabbing me.
I inspected my weapon.
Meat flavoured potatogun. A set of pipes and connected parts made to use explosive fuel to blast objects at great distance. We don't recommend anyone use this due to how fragile it is. 20/20 hitpoints.
From the security camera and television I made Adam a weapon. Televisions were amazing for making stuff, they were packed with cool components.
Macgyver's Taser. Mark 2. Durability, 1/1. Damage, 200. A copied model of the grandmaster quality inspired taser, formed of electrical fragments of television. Uses sharp glass and metal to penetrate clothing and skin and hit harder.
For Jeff, I got a club.
I looked over my status, currently fully buffed up with every stamina consuming enchantment I had.

I held a steel pole I'd ripped from the machine, and crushed it in my bare hand. I was stronger than ever. Faster. I had a host of buffs I could rarely use because of the expense, but with Maturin behind me, I was at full. I hadn't thought of it at the time, because my body was not an intellectual powerhouse, but I could have crushed those chains with my bare hands.
"What are you?" Jeff asked, seeing the crushed pole. He was shaking, stepping back.
"Your son. Jigsaw has taken his things, and corrupted them into a game of death."
He looked at me, more sure, angry.
"What do you know about my son."
I shrugged.
"Some idiot killed him whilst drunk. It sucks. But worse can happen. I am the angel of Maturin. John Kramer, Jigsaw, has abducted your wife to use in some twisted game and wants her dead. Work with me, and we can save her."
"You sound crazy."
I shifted to my base, manly form. I needed to sell him better on following me. I manifested a flame on one hand, and made a swirling vortex of water on the other.
"There's evil out there. True evil. John Kramer is working with Satan to burn this world and the next. Your son's afterlife is at risk if you don't help me."
He looked from side to shocked, a bit uneasy at the obvious magical display. Adam came over and clapped him on the back.
"I've seen this guy do some crazy stuff. Believe him. I saw your wife's abduction before I got captured. I hid it somewhere… he looked around in his pants, and then drew out a photograph of Pighead abducting Lynn. "He got your daughter as well."
The man paused, and looked between the two of us.
"You can save her?"
I nodded. "We just need to keep them" I gestured at the ripped out cameras. "Distracted. I already planned to save your daughter. I need to warn you though." I took his hand and gripped it.
"Jigsaw is playing games. We need all the muscle we can get to stop him. He's abducted the people who hurt your son, and is using them in a twisted game. They suck and all, but the most important thing is saving your wife and kid. Right?"
He looked a little conflicted, then shook his head and shook away the bad thoughts.
"Fine. For them." I offered him a steel pipe with a sharpened piece of metal welded on the end. "Let's head on."
After the freezer room there was a hallway, with a box with red velvet in it. There was a piece of paper on it, with a bullet, and a message "One bullet can end it all" and n the back of the paper was a picture of Jeff's dead son.
I held up the picture. "Mind games by Kramer. Asshole."
Adam looked at the photo. "Nice angle and lighting."
We headed forwards. The hallway onwards had flickering lights, and ahead of us, a puppet lying next to a bicyle. There were a bunch of wheeled boxes we could take if we needed to move more stuff, and a piece of metal lying against the wall I handed to Adam.
"Use it as a spear if needed. Neither of you can handle close up combat. Hit Kramer with the sticks and keep him pinned down while I smash him. Spears are better than swords, history proves it."
"I bet some nerds on the internet disagree." Said Adam.
"Nerds gonna do what nerds gonna do." I said, myself completely nerdy as well.
I looked up. "Those lights are annoying as hell." I went to tighten them. I didn't want any spooky horror ambiance.
Jeff had gone up on ahead to play with the Billy doll. I called up.
"Hey man, you do you, but I'm pretty sure that's meant to be a representation of your son to help you move past your son's death and forgive those involved in your death."
He looked back and called back.
"My son should have never died. He deserves me caring about him. He deserved to live."
I gave him a thumbs up. "I know. And Jigsaw is a total hypocrite. A druggie killed his son, Gideon, and he immediately went to murder him. Just, creepy mind crimes. He played mind games with you too, Adam?" I gestured at him.
Adam held up the photo he had hid away. "He did. I was trying to track him down, and he abducted me for trying to save people. He abducted one of the suspects as well, and tried to drive us apart with photos of him. Macgyver here." He gestured at me with a thumb. "Kept us together. It's best to ignore his mind games. Eye on the prize."
Jeff looked at the bicycle and the doll once more. I walked over to him, and gave him a side hug.
"It's horrible losing someone you love. I've gone from world to world, and lost people again and again. But never family. You have a pain I don't get. You actually loved him from spending time with him, unlike Kramer who spent no time with his son. That matters. What Jigsaw is trying to do in making you abandon that pain is horrible. It's ok to hurt."
"My wife never got it. I need vengeance. I need to make it right."
I looked at him. "The driver who did it. We're gonna see him. After all this, if you want to pound him into a pulp, I'm not gonna stop you. He deserves it."
Jeff hefted his weapon and started walking again. "We should move on."
"Wait a second, I need to prep."
I scavenged some parts from each to improve my armor, and smashed the bottoms out of the carrying tins to make makeshift shields for my two companions and we headed past them.
Next was a door. Written on it in red paint was the message "Time to let go."
Jeff shook his head. "I'll never let go. He was my son."
I looked at him with a smile. "The dead need that. Someone to carry their light with them onwards after them. So long as say the name of the dead, they still live on in our hearts."
He went to open the door. I put my hand over his.
"Woah. Woah. Rule one of adventuring. The barbarian doesn't open doors. The rogue does. See?"
I held the door firm, and then with my brutish strength, rammed my fist straight through it. On the other side I grabbed the rope trap that would go off when you opened the door.
Holding it firm, I opened the door, and we stepped inside, with no traps activated. Everything was going great. I gestured around the room.
"Jigsaw loves putting traps on doors. See, a rope to that control console." I gestured. "That control console sets up a trap for the judge that fucked over your son. To free him, you need to burn all your son's stuff."
Adam looked at the glass case. "That's sick. He just wants to honor his son."
I nodded. "It is. Can you see any way to get the key in there?" I gestured, leading Jeff towards it.
"I can't see a way to get my hand into it. What if I press this button?" He reached his hand forward and I grabbed it. "No."
I rammed my elbow into the glass case, summoned a plastic bag, and collected all of his son's stuff. "Why wouldn't you just smash the glass."
He looked at it. "Wow. Yeah. I didn't think of that."
I shook my head and picked up the key. "Wanna go rescue the judge?"
In the center of the room was a big meat grinder. In a big tub, the judge who had sentenced Jeff's son to a short sentence was tied up. The way this room was supposed to work, you open the door, trigger a machine, and rotten pig meat was ground onto the judge, drowning him. Jeff needed to sacrifice his son's stuff to get the key to free the judge. But I didn't care. I headed on up, then smelt something. "Stay back dudes." I gestured. "Poison."
The same herb that had poisoned us all in Saw 2 was in the air. I summoned my power, clearing the air around me as another door opened.
Laura Hunter walked through, a gas mask in her hand. I stopped, and turned back.
I opened my arms wide. "Hey Laura. It's me. I was riding your body a while back. We got us a reunion. Bring it in for a hug!"
She looked at me annoyed. "You're the reason I was brought here, aren't you."
I nodded. "Probably. I assume you were meant to do something with that mask?"
She held up a tape. "Just one gas mask. I'd have to choose between saving you and saving myself. I think I know which one I choose. I have a single antidote as well"
She began to put on the gas mask. I slowly put down my arms. "Oh. No love here. Well, I don't need your smelly gas mask.
She gave me a thumbs up.
My plague doctor skill was still broken, and I could only use it on one fragment of my power. I could re-enable plague doctor if I had to on poison, but I wanted to keep that for emergencies. But, I had insane stamina, and air control.
I walked up to the top of the tub, noting the electronic motion sensor that triggered the gas and glanced at the ring at the top. Even if this trap wasn't easy ass to defeat, you could just block off or knock off this to prevent pigs being dropped down. Before poison was added by Jigsaw to add some difficulty. Easy trap. I hopped into the tub, and went to free the judge. "You're safe."
John Kramer paced back and forth in his lair, surrounded by old traps and ideas, fists clenched. Amanda reached up to touch his shoulder.
He twisted back, and looked at her, his voice loud.
"What is it?"
"He- he punched through the door into the pig room. He completely bypassed the trap. It's like he knew it was there."
Kramer sighed. "This was meant to be my magnus opus. My great and final trap, one greater than any before. And he just bypassed them all? He smashed through the floor in the bomb, used acid to break the angel trap, bumped the lock in the ice room, and just smashed his way through the door into the pig room? Did Jeff at least need to sacrifice all his son's old possessions so he could move past his inappropriate attachment to his dead son? Did Macgyver need to choose between poisoning himself and the judge?"
Amanda shook her head. "He just smashed the glass to get the key, and then just went too fast for the poison to hit him."
Kramer swore, and picked up one of the glass displays, of a reverse bear trap, tossing it onto the ground.
"I spent so long preparing all of these places! For nothing. All the dramatic irony, the careful juxtaposition, ruined! I could have helped Jeff cherish his life, but no, Macgyver ruined that! I spent so much time and money getting some counter to the demonic powers of Macgyver as well! I was promised by Rainier this would work." He smashed his fist against a concrete pillar, leaving it bloody.
"Release the deadly nerve toxin. You were right, Amanda. Sometimes the only way to be fair is to be lethal."
He pointed at Lynn, the shotgun trap around her neck tight. "And get going with the operation. We need to be done soon."
That's weird, Kramer is angrier than usual.
I want a horror film where a bunch of kids get locked up in a place with a load of Saw like traps and just completely bypass them all and the creator gets more and more mad people aren't playing fair. One with lots of Scooby Doo references. Jeff Danlon is super slow because of his head injury though so he doesn't do anything creative, most of the traps in this one are really easy to game.
Dragonbornthesam. He would love chatting with Gamera. They both work to protect their worlds against incursions by hostile supernatural entities and are giant turtles.
SonJubbi. Your vote is added. Who will win, the Dream Demon and the The Crystal Lake Killer, or a guy who is pretty good with screwdrivers?
Next time, we see how salty Kramer can get at his traps being bypassed.
