Chapter 5: A fight, a battle
The two Digimon looked at each other, Takato already knew what hot headed Ryo would do and was ready to counter. All Gallantmon CM had to do was wait for him to attack and judging by the shifting of his opponents feet he knew that he wouldn't have to wait long.
Justimon charged forwards, his right arm transforming as he ran before he shouted "Voltage Blade!" Justimon slashed downwards with the energy blade at Gallantmon's chest, however Takato blocked it with Blutgang and slammed the side of Gungnir into his opponent's chest sending him flying backwards.
"You never test your opponent, you always just run in head on. You leave yourself and your allies open to attack" Gallantmon CM's dual voice explained. "How are you meant to lead anyone when you just charge forward blindly?" he asked.
Justimon got up slowly, that hit had taken both energy and air out of him. Deciding he need to stop taking more hits he decided to go on an all-out attack. Lunging at Takato he quickly slash at his stomach before jumping into the air and calling out "Justice Kick" and swung his leg down aiming a kick at Gallantmon's face.
Takato let his martial arts training take over and dodged the slash before using Gungnir to block the kick before slamming the hilt of Blutgang into Ryo's stomach. The force of the blow sent Justimon slamming into the ground. Gallantmon stood over his opponent and just shook his head. "You still haven't learned anything. You can't win every battle by throwing yourself at it" he said.
In the stands Seth just shook his head at the sight of Justimon's tactics "This match is just pathetic to watch" he said in exasperation. Next to him Shade nodded in agreement as she too was beginning to grow weary of this farce of a battle.
Rika, Renamon, Jeri, and Alice where sitting behind the older boy with Takato's other two partners and couldn't help but agree with the statement. Renamon and Rika remembered back during the whole D-reaper incident Ryo's head on strategy would land him in trouble and forced Rika or Henry to come to his rescue. However Seth's comment also drew the attention of four individuals sitting in front of him.
Kari and TK along with their partners turned around with surprised looks "Don't you think that's a little harsh? Both of them are doing their best." Kari stated.
Seth couldn't help but chuckle at that statement "Please Takato isn't even trying in this fight. Instead he is trying to teach Ryo a lesson. If he truly decided to go serious he wouldn't give Ryo a chance to catch his breath and would mercilessly attack him until Ryo couldn't move." Seth stated before glancing at Ryo "As for Ryo, his fighting style is an insult to any true warrior out there. His attacks are slow, sloppy, and showy. His fighting style reeks of arrogance and any real opponent worth a damn would rip him to pieces." Seth announced surprising the two.
Renamon however nodded "I agree I spent much of my earlier life fighting strong opponents who although where only rookies had better styles and skill than Ryo's bio-merged form."
Back in the arena Ryo's anger finally took over making him charge at Gallantmon slashing again and again using every second he could to attack. Gallantmon though was able to block every attack that Ryo threw at him. Takato was just simply faster and stronger than his opponent. Suddenly Justimon flipped forward his arm transforming in mid-air and shouted out "Thunderclap" slamming his transformed hand into the ground he sent shockwaves towards Gallantmon.
Gallantmon didn't even bother dodging and just took the attack head on and was pushed back five feet however the attack itself hadn't even scratched him. "Nice display of power but that won't help you and you know it" Gallantmon said sadly "You can't beat me and you know it, your pride just won't let you admit it."
"If you use 'Crimson Light' now at 15% power and aim at the ground under him under his feet, it will drain the last of his energy." Takato heard Angel's voice inside Gallantmon's mind, 'Takato who was that?' he heard Guilmon ask in thought. 'That's Angel Guilmon I told you about her on the way to school' he thought back. 'Oh hello Angel, Takato can we attack now?' 'Okay boy', Gallantmon aimed at the ground under Justimon's feet and shouted "Crimson Light".
Ryo had just got Justimon to stand when the attack hit, the blast sent him flying backwards before de-Digivolving when he crashed into the ground. "Power isn't everything in a fight. I appreciate the help from my partners while you use yours as a tool."
In the stands Seth just sighed in boredom "Well that was a good 15 minutes of my life I'm never going to get back. You couldn't even call that a fight." Seth said a little loudly causing some of the other students to get mad.
"What makes you think you're so tough?! You're not even a Tamer!" one student shouted "I challenge you to battle!" the same student who Seth recognized as Kazu challenged. "You can use that useless Sangloupmon next to you."
"I refuse" Seth replied in a monotone with no hesitation however noticing that Shade looked a little hurt at his refusal to fight with her.
"I knew it your just a weak little sh-" Kazu began only to stop as he felt his wind pipe suddenly in a vice like grip. Opening his eyes he was shocked to see Seth now somehow in front of him and pinching his windpipe with two fingers. Everyone else in the stadium's eye's widened in surprise. To them Seth had simply disappeared before instantly reappearing next to Kazu, however there where some in the stadium who knew how he just accomplished this feat.
Renamon's eyes widened in surprise along with her Tamer's "He just phased!" the pair thought.
Seth for his part just looked into Kazu's panicked eyes for a couple of seconds before releasing the boy to and causing him to collapse on the ground and try to catch his breath. "The reason I refused is because you're so weak of a Tamer that I find the mere idea of fighting you an insult so far beneath me that it's nauseating. I don't even think I can hold back enough to not severely injure your unfortunate partner." Seth said in a voice that held a dangerous edge to it before walking away toward Takato along with Takato's partners and Shade.
Takato waited for his other Digimon to join him before turning to walk away, he made it halfway to the school when he stiffened as his battle instincts drew his attention to the stadium, his Digimon sniffing the air before getting into a fighting stance. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Seth suddenly become alert as well. "Get your asses away from there now" he shouted toward the students and faculty still within the arena. The tone in his voice caught everyone's attention "Move it!" he screamed.
Seeing him standing there with alarm plain on his face and his Digimon standing in front of him ready to fight sent them all running to stand behind Takato looking the same way as him. "I need all the Mega's in the front line, Ultimate's behind them, Champion's in the third line as reserves and Rookie's protecting the tamers." He called out before whispering to himself "Not like last time, please not like last time."
"What happened last time?" Rika asked from next to him.
It was BlackGatomon that answered "Last time a large group of digimon bio-emerged… well the last publically known time it happened. The local tamers just rushed in and didn't have a plan, by the time we arrived the Digimon were out cold. I got to work getting the Digimon and their tamers out of the area as LadyDevimon, while Takato threw himself into the largest group of enemies as Gallantmon. When I finished I went to help out Takato and under his orders I took out any injured ones that got passed him but we needed back up." She paused looking at Takato with sad eyes "Out of know where a Piedmon bio-emerged and got passed both of us. He attacked a human after knocking me out Takato was only seconds to late. Gallantmon took us to the nearest hospital before de-digivolving. Takato then passed out from exhaustion... Takato's father died from the wounds that Piedmon inflicted on him while Takato slept on unknowingly" she explained.
The boy that now held everyone's attention knelt down in front of Guilmon "Boy I really hate to ask you this but we need numbers not brute strength."
"It's ok Takato we're in control this time" the Digimon replied knowing what he wanted to ask.
"Thanks bud" Takato said with a slight smile before his eyes flickered to the west where a large data stream emerged showing a bio-emergence. "Damn there is another group."
"I'll take care of it Takato. Shade with me let's go." Seth announced as Shade leaped next to him allowing the human to climb onto her back before she took off to the west.
Confident that the other area was now in good hands Takato looked toward the arena where a data stream suddenly shot up quickly followed by a thick fog.
"Takato what are you going to do if he's going mega without you?" Renamon asked.
Takato smiled at the vixen briefly "Well you see," he scratched the back of his head "I can answer that question that I couldn't before." Renamon stood staring at the boy, the shock having frozen her to the spot. Seeing the thick fog by the battle arena he told everyone to digivolve and get ready, seeing the fog they all quickly followed his order.

Ryo out of the corner of his eye saw Takato throw him a card which he caught before glancing at it and slashing the card threw his D-ark "Digi-modify! Energy Restore Activate" he called out while wondering why Takato was helping him after their fight.
Takato himself already knew what was troubling the boy "I told you I need numbers, this is going to be a hard fight and I need everyone, even you… so bio-merge" the boy called out to Ryo.

A giant armored dragon stood where Guilmon had been moments before, "You ok there boy?" Takato asked a little worried.
"I'm ok Takato but what are you going to do?" the dragon asked.
Takato just laughed before he held his G-ark in front of him, "I'm going to take this for a spin" 'Angel, do it now!'
DNA FUSION EVOLUTION ACTIVATED

Where Takato had stood moments ago now stood a large demon, his well-muscled body covered in finely made armor. Dark red skin showing from round the edges of it showed that it was built to maximize movement while still protecting the body. He had two small horns coming out of his head as well as two dragons like wings, his tail waving slightly to keep the new form balanced. His face had changed a lot, it looked older and stronger his hair in a plat against his back. He had claws instead of nails as well as clawed feet, on his left hip you could see the hilt and sheath of a finely made sword.
Watching the fog he could see that it was starting to dissipate "MarineAngemon I need you go to the back with the Rookies and help heal those that get hurt in battle."
"Angel I need you to scan for their levels, I can sense every one of the thirty there but not their levels" Takato said out loud getting confused looks from the Tamers nearby.
"You were right Takato there are 30 of them 16 champions 10 Ultimate's and 4 Megas" he heard her reply out loud.
It was at this point Renamon noticed the slot, screen and buttons incorporated into the armor on his left forearm. She was shocked at how even as a Digimon he would be able to scan both wild Digimon and cards. Sakuyamon asked with Renamon voice "I see you've upgraded your Omni-vice and named her," flashes of memories of their talk appeared in Sakuyamon's mind so Renamon's Tamer could understand what she was talking about "and I would like to know how use you Omni-vice in that form but we have other things to worry about."
Takato then remembered what he had just learnt "There are thirty digimon in that digital field, us Megas are going to damage and delete as many as we can before engaging the four Mega's. I want everyone else to pick off any of the ones we injure or leave. Oh and Renamon it's not an Omni-vice anymore it's a G-ark or Guardian Ark now." he stated quickly before saying "get ready it's about to kick off."
The moment he finished saying that the digital field disappeared and the G-ark's holographic screen activated. Targeting the four Megas.

The group of four Megas stood in the back as the Ultimates and Champions charged toward the Tamers. Without thinking Flamedemon threw up his right hand and shouted "Solid Inferno!" A wall of fire appeared in front of him before he threw the wall out towards the approaching enemy, quickly drawing the sword out of its sheath and watching as the blade itself ignited. Takato thanked god that he had backup this time as his attack slammed into a group of five Ultimate's deleting three of them and injuring the other two.
The others took it as a sign to attack and soon entered the battle.
"Terror Destroyer"
"Megiddo Flame"
He heard as he moved forward to begin fighting in close combat, with his flaming sword he began to cut through any Champion or Ultimate that got in his way as he charged toward the enemy Mega's position. Every now and again he would see an arrow of light or an electric blade of energy taking out the Digimon he was only able to injure. This reminded him he had help and that this time no enemy would get passed.
After cutting threw 2 champions and an ultimate Takato along with Ryo, Rika, and Henry managed to reach the four Mega's position after cutting their own paths threw the enemy. Choosing one Mega Takato found himself facing the Gulfmon. "Burning Blade" Flamedemon called out as he slashed down at the Gulfmon. The Gulfmon barely managed to dodge the descending blade by leaping to the left only to be met by Flamedemon's leg as Takato followed up his slash with a kick that sent the Mega into the ground. Before the digimon could even attempt to get up Takato brought his blade down. An explosion then occurred, centered around where the sword struck turning the Digimon into data, while this was happening its voice screamed out "You may have beat us this time but the Seven Lords will rule this world."
After looking around and making sure that all the other enemy digimon where deleted and he was no longer needed there, Takato took off with his Digimon straight for where the other data stream occurred not giving anyone a chance to stop him. Upon his arrival at the epicenter of the bio-emergence which was a small park, he was greeted by the sight of Seth sitting on a park bench resting his chin on his hand watching as Shade deleted the last enemy digimon in this area with a bite to its neck.
"Everything taken care of here?" Takato asked.
Seth looked up at Takato lazily "Yeah it was kind of a letdown only 4 champions and an Ultimate showed up. I think they were supposed to distract more of the students by causing some damage to the city or something. They sucked pretty hard though, I deleted the Ultimate when it decided to get snarky when we arrived then let Shade take care of the champions. Pretty funny watching her outclass them actually." Seth stated as Shade walked up to join them.
"I am heading back home do you want a lift?" Takato asked wanting to get home.
"Na you go ahead I'll head back on my own. Have to get Shade a few steaks for that performance she just pulled." Seth replied while Shade positively beamed at the praise and promise of steak. Takato nodded before leaving for home.
Arriving home ten minutes later on Grani he thanked the mechanical dragon for his help before making his way toward the house. When he made it half way he suddenly stooped and called out "Thank you for your help with the battle today, you fought well Lillymon" before walking into the building.
On the roof of the building next to the bakery Lillymon couldn't help but smile at the humans praise, she couldn't believe that she had witnessed that same human become a Digimon only a little earlier. She had also decided to help finish off a few champions and helped protect the Tamers but there was just something about the boy that kept drawing her attending and as soon as the battle was over she had immediately flown to his house.
Seeing Takato walk into his home Lillymon thought it was also a good idea to turn in for the night and flew off to her little safe house in the city.
: Matsuki Residence:
Renamon had already been waiting for him when Takato entered his room, he had sensed her standing in his bedroom from outside and greeted her without looking up. "Renamon to what do we owe the pleasure?" he asked in defeat, he already knew the reason the vixen was here.
"You disappeared so quickly after the battle that we didn't get to finish our discussion" she simply stated "Now where were we? Oh yes, how are you able to use your G-ark in your digivolved form?" Looking up he could see that she was now leaning against the wall relaxing.
Sending her a small smile Takato put his bag on his desk and started to look through it "Well you know most of it already so it won't matter if you know a little more" he laughed. Pulling a piece of paper out his bag and handing it to her "I'm able to for the same reason no one can any data on Guilmon, I drew it."
Renamon looked down at the drawing in her hand, it was a detailed drawing of his digivolved form both shaded and colored but what she was looking at was the Digimon's stats under the picture, she remembered that he had made Guilmon but she never would have thought he would draw his own digivolution form.
Not caring that Renamon was still there Takato pulled off his jacket and t-shirt and crawled into bed. The slight pleasure Renamon felt at seeing his toned upper body quickly changed to worry upon seeing him curl up in a ball before finally passing out from exhaustion.
"Will he be ok?" she asked BlackGatomon not looking away from the boy, the feline gave her a knowing smile and replied "He just needs to rest, he will be better tomorrow."
Renamon nodded and made to leave before glancing at Takato's form and moving over to the already sleeping boy. When she arrived next to the bed she quietly pulled the bed cover over the tired boy and smiled down gently at the sleeping Takato "You deserve a rest for what you did today." Renamon whispered to the room. Before she could back out of it Renamon quickly leaned down a planted a small lick to Takato's cheek "And that's my way of thanking you" Renamon thought as she blushed and quickly phased out of the house.
After Renamon left to go back to Rika's BlackGatomon jumped up next to her Tamer and lay down against him with a jealous look on her face "Making new friends already Takato I see. I bet you don't even know you did it" she whispered before closing her eyes.
: Later That Night:
"So what were you talking about with that boy in class, you said something about virus types and the Digital World" Kari asked her Digimon partner seriously "what's happening there that would make him react like that."
Gatomon looked down in sadness before refocusing on answering her Tamer's question "In the Digital World the D-Reaper has been blamed on the virus type Digimon. They are usually now hunted down and deleted by other digimon who fear they will somehow bring it back" the feline said sadly "I'm guessing that at one point or another someone has tried to delete each of the four of them."
Both the girl and the Digimon were wondering about the boy known as the Virus Tamer or Takato Matsuki. They had watched him do two impossible things that day and yet learning a little of his past both couldn't help but feel bad for him. First they had seen him take on and beat the Legendary Tamer Ryo himself without breaking a sweat and then they had seen the boy himself digivolve to a new Mega Digimon never seen before.
He was unlike any boy Kari had ever known and she could tell that he had a kind heart. She didn't know why but it hurt her to see him push everyone away with the exception of Seth and his partners. Like everyone that had heard BlackGatomon's explanation Kari felt for him, to fight a group of digimon like they had earlier with only one ultimate for backup was bad enough. But to have to witness the strike that was responsible for his father's death, to have gotten there only seconds too late to stop it must have been hell for him.
Entering her house she collapsed on the sofa, her older brother Tai heard her entering and walked into the lounge "So how was my little sister's first day at school?" the leader of the first generation of Digidestined asked.
She sighed and decided to tell the truth "Do you want me to start with me meeting the infamous Virus Tamer, him beating Ryo like it was a joke, the boy turning into a Digimon, or the large group of digimon that attacked?" she asked exhausted.
Tai of course only heard one of these "A group of digimon attacked?! Are you ok Kari?! What happened?" She knew her brother would overreact like this, he always did when she fought wild Digimon… but this was a rather large group so it was fairly understandable concern.
"I'm fine Tai," she said trying to relieve his fears "don't forget that the first tamers were there with a school full of Digimon and Tamers. I'm fine Tai really."
Tai's face calmed for a few seconds before he remembered the rest of what she had said "You met the Virus Tamer? Are you sure it wasn't a wild one?" he asked now curious.
"Tai it was three Digimon in the classroom with him I know because they fought with us against the digimon and I watched him digivovle them" she said.
"What's the tamer like? Wait a second, did you just say he has three Digimon?" he asked in shock staring at Kari as though she was sick.
"His name is Takato Matsuki. He's around my age and looks like someone who has been through a lot and walked out the other side stronger from it. I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet but from brief exchange between him and Gatomon I've learned a few things." Tai sat down next to her to let her explain what she knew "I know that he is defensive when it comes to virus types, I know that he has three Digimon two of which can go to mega and I know he can change into a Digimon." She paused quickly to get her breath back before continuing "And one of his Digimon told us he lost his father in an attack by a large group of Digimon, so he was probably reliving the worst day of his life and yet he was the one looking out for us. It was him that noticed what was happening, that got us ready to fight, and came up with the plan that allowed us to not only win but do it without any losses."
Tai was stunned by what he had just heard, this boy had pushed his own fear aside to come up with a plan that not only worked but resulted in no losses and fought alongside everyone else. He made up his mind then and there, he had to meet this kid.
: With Seth:
Seth sighed as he finished submitting a report of the Digimon battle earlier that day to his superior Yamanaka. He glanced around at the place he called home while staying in Shinjuku. The building the League purchased for him was a large penthouse on the top 3 floors of the Financial Accounting Network Group a financial group that specialized in online purchases and trading, at least in public. Seth knew that this was merely a front for the League's FANG division, also known as the Fast Assault and Neutralization Group. The apartment itself was expertly laid out with a large living room, kitchen, dining room, and entertainment room on the first floor along with two bathrooms and a laundry room. The first floor was only accessible via either a private elevator that required a pass card or a balcony outside of the living room made for Digimon that could phase, fly, or travel via rooftops. The second floor was only accesses able via a stair case from the living room and was laid out in a manner that one would be able to look down into the living room. The second floor itself featured an office, lounge, 4 guest bedrooms with private bathrooms, and a master bedroom with adjoining bathroom that also had a private balcony leading outside to an amazing view of downtown Shinjuku and the suburbs and forest beyond. The final floor was accessed via a staircase from the second floor and featured a training room, workout room, shooting range, Armory, sparring room, meditation room, a small mineral pool, cold plunge pool, and hot tube. Looking around Seth couldn't help but internally thank the FANG branch for going all out in finding a home for one of its key operators.
FANG was the League's go to group for a worst case scenario, historically FANG has only been called upon once since its creation. Ironically that one time was the sole reason for the group's creation as well. The group was not even publically known, only high level personnel within the League and senior military leaders and knew of the group's existence and activities, until now.
Seth had learned via a text message from Yamanaka that news of FANG's existence and previous activities had been discovered by an inquisitive reporter by the name of Mrs. Mizaki, the same reporter that covered the D-Reaper's attack on Shinjuku. Apparently the reporter had found enough evidence to prove the groups existence and even a few of its members. The star reporter was planning to go public on the matter but thankfully the League was able to strike a deal with Mrs. Mizaki that she would be able to break her story with the exception that all FANG operatives names be withheld and certain aspects of the group are withheld, in exchange Mr. Mitsuo Yamaki the head of the League will appear with her and affirm her story and answer a few of her question on public TV. Apparently the story would appear in the morning news tomorrow and be covered by BBC World News, CCTV News, and Euronews.
Seth decided to get something to eat and made his way from the office down to the kitchen on the first floor. As he entered the living room on his way to the kitchen he saw Shade laying down by the stone fireplace gazing out into the night sky. Deciding to see if she was all right Seth approached a nearby couch and addressed the wolf Digimon "Thinking of something deep and important over here?"
Shade looked over in at the human who sat down on a nearby couch before shaking her head "No just thinking about that battle earlier"
X Flashback X
Seth and Shade arrived in the small park that the digital field materialized in after a short three minute trip. The fog in the area was already dissipating and quickly revealed the presence of five Digimon.
Seth identified 4 champions and one Ultimate level Digimon. The four champions all appeared to be winged lions with yellow manes. The Firamon where eyeing their surroundings before they noticed the arrival of Seth and Shade causing them to start growling at the newcomers. The Ultimate wasan Allomon a large blue dinosaur with red stripes and Native American styled headdress and necklace. The Allomon directed its eyes at the two individuals who dared challenge it.
Getting off Shade's back Seth glanced around and saw that thankfully nobody was around to get hit by a random attack before turning his attention to the five presumably hostile Digimon. "Attention Firamon and Allomon you have bio-emerged into a large population center state your intentions." Seth shouted in accordance to the League's procedure with bio-emerged Digimon.
The Allomon simply laughed "A puny human dares demand answers from me? Hah, the only thing your kind is good for is to be destroyed or enslaved!"
Seth gave a slow nod "…Yep I think that's enough evidence to prove hostile intent."
The Allomon scoffed "I've tired of your talk Firamon atta…" was about as far as he got before suddenly a silver Ninjato firmly lodged itself through the top of its skull. The Allomon didn't even have time to register shock before it was deleted.
Scoffing at the deletion of the Ultimate, Seth sheathed the Ninjato he had pulled out from underneath his jacket. Turning around he glanced at the shocked looks of the Firamon and Shade before focusing on the female wolf. "I trust you can handle the rest?" Seth asked.
X Flashback end X
Shade shivered as she remembered the battle earlier and at how quickly and effortlessly Seth had dispatched an Ultimate level Digimon. She hadn't even seen the human move before he appeared on top of the Allomon's skull. The merciless way he had kill the Allomon was something she also had not expected from a human… and why did she find that so attractive?
Shade shook her head to clear those thoughts before refocusing on the human and asking a question that had bugged her for a while now "Seth why aren't you a Tamer?" At Seth's questioning look she elaborated. "I mean as strong as you are I thought that someone like you would have already had a Digimon partner by now and be one of the stronger Tamers out there. So why aren't you?"
Seth thought about Shade's question for a while before answering "The reason for me not being a strong Tamer is that I don't have time to participate in mock fights and card games while there is an actual battle taking place. As for the not having a partner… I don't know maybe because all Digimon usually look for in a partner for the sole reason of either friendship or the ability to digivolve. I am not interested in either of those things. I have had friends before and most are dead now, so I am not desperate to find any more like other kids are. Shade thought about his response for a few minutes before nodding and standing up on her four legs before making her way to where Seth was sitting. She stopped directly in front of the human allowing and sat down on her hunches allowing the human to see her ruby red eyes gazing into his own fierce brown ones. "Please allow me to be your partner." Shade pleaded as she bowed her head.
"…No." Seth responded.
"Please" Shade continued looking up Seth's eyes with determination.
"…Why?"
"Because you are the only one that accepted me for who I am. You accepted me into your home, you defended me from your own people, and you've shown that you are strong." Shade replied.
"I told you I'm not interested in…"
"I don't want to be your Digimon partner! I NEED to be your partner!" Shade shouted effectively shutting Seth up. "You are the only one that can make me the best I possibly can, I don't want a weak Tamer that can power me up some sappy form of acceptance and friendship! I need a Tamer that will point out my weak points, teach me to better utilize my strengths, will train me until I nearly break and beyond!" Shade shouted before gasping for breath after her shouting.
"… I need a Tamer that won't care what type of Digimon I am, a Tamer that won't care if I look scary." Shade continued in almost a whisper as she gazed up and met Seth's eyes her desperation coming out like a flood. "I need a Tamer that won't hide me away from the world, who isn't afraid to be seen with me in public, who will stand by me when I need them most." At this point tears where almost welling up in Shades eyes as she remembered all the previous Tamers and humans that had been scared of her when she first came to the Human world. "I need a partner who will stay with me no matter what happens in life."
Shade closed her eyes as she bowed again "Please be my Tamer" that was it she had put it all on the line for one last time. Shade knew that Seth was the only one that could meet her standards and achieve the type of bond she wanted out of a Tamer. If he said no she would return to the digital world as no other Tamer would do except him.

"I am not exactly a good person, I hope you realize that." Seth said after a seeming eternity had passed by.
Shade looked up at him with a challenging expression "I'm a vampire wolf Digimon that is also a virus type and sucks the data out of my targets or skewer them on one of the many blades attached to my armor on my body… I'm not exactly an Angewomon here."
Seth gave a slight smile "Yeah… but I guess I prefer it that way."
Shade gained a hopeful expression "Does that mean…"
Seth gave a nod with a true smile gracing his face "Yeah I'll be your partner Shade, I just hope you won't regret it."
"Thank you!" Shade shouted in joy as she nuzzled forward into Seth's chest and even gave his cheek a quick lick. Thankfully her armor was off for now as it was controlled by a mental command by her.
As if to cement the happy occasion a dark light appeared and formed into a black D-ark with a dark purple screen and gold trim. The D-ark appeared above them before lowering and fusing with the G-ark on Seth's arm and resulting in the G-ark gaining a card reader slot.
As Shade kept displaying her happiness in the form of more nuzzling Seth couldn't help but internally grimace at the thought of all the stakes and Digimon cards he would need to buy in the immediate future.

Far away from the day's events six figures stood in the pitch blackness, they were in the middle of a heated discussion "They shouldn't have been able to win, we had data on all the first tamers. Everything told us they would they would rush forward and be beaten, the first tamers couldn't come up with a battle strategy like the one they used." The deep voice pointed out, silence greeted his words until a quiet giggle broke out.
"I already know it wasn't their plan, unlike you five I actually watched the battle," the smile on the female voice's owner went unseen in the dark "so I already know it was the half-breed's plan."

"…Tell me what you know of this half-breed" a new voice demanded.
And Done. Well that was an action packed chapter! In the next one you can all expect another human OC Vigilant to arrive and more secrets revealed about the League's secrets. All that and more next time!
