Chapter 10
They were surrounded on all sides.
"What are your demands?" Eric asked, stepping forward.
Harry hummed thoughtfully.
"Let me go?" he asked.
He was smiling knowingly.
"We can't do that, Riddle," An Auror said. "Not only are you a wanted criminal, you have a cursed pendant in your possession. It is an extremely dangerous cursed object, especially in the hands of someone like you."
"You don't even know what power the dark magic around the pendant can do," Harry said. "It would be a waste to destroy the dark magic or if I simply absorbed it."
"You can absorb dark magic?" an Auror asked dumbly.
Harry rolled his eyes.
"You're asking that question to me of all people?"
Harry sighed, no doubt mentally hitting his head against a wall.
"This is why I faked my death," he muttered. "Oh, the incompetency of some people hasn't changed at all..."
Alex almost snorted but managed to keep his composure.
"Well, since letting me go is out of the question, I'll just force my way out of here," Harry said, shrugging casually.
"You're surrounded and outmatched. Impersonation and theft will put you in Azkaban for a few years; that coupled with your crimes of murder and being a former Death Eater will get you the Kiss." the first Auror said.
"I'll have to take a raincheck on that," Harry said. "I'm on a busy schedule and you've already delayed me more than I like."
Harry abruptly Alex away from and lashed his hand out. There was a green flash and four Aurors collapsed to the ground dead.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures," Harry said, chuckling darkly.
He held out his hands, claws growing. He lunged forward too quickly to be human. He slashed the throat of one Auror and would've killed another Auror if he hadn't been blasted away from Harry's claws. Harry tilted his head and turned to where the spell had come from. Eric stared back at him, wand raised.
"So...it is you," he said. "It really is true then."
Harry hummed.
"So it is," he said.
"Enough of this! You're outmatched. Give up and come quietly. We cannot let a criminal like you, Alexander Riddle, get away again." the first Auror commanded.
Harry sighed in annoyance.
"For the last time, I'm not Alex."
"How can you not be? Harrison Riddle died fifteen years ago in the war," the Auror said.
"I never died," Harry said.
"That is impossible. You were hit by the killing curse in front of several eye witnesses!"
"Okay, I know there is stupidity in this world...but you guys take it to the next level. You obviously didn't pay attention to what Alex looks like during your debriefing." Harry said in a dull tone.
"B-but you casted the killing curse without a wand or saying the words! And the other brother is dead!" the Auror exclaimed. "You have to be Alexander Riddle!"
Harry's eye twitched, staring at the Auror.
"I really don't like being mistaken for my twin, you know," he said. "We may look identical and have similar skills regarding wandless and wordless magic, but I assure you, we are very different people."
Harry pointed his finger at the Auror and a split second later, the Auror fell to the ground dead as a silent green flash of light hit him.
"For everyone else here, listen carefully because I will not say this again," Harry said.
Harry brushed his bangs back and clipped them on top of his head with a black hair clip. His sickly green eyes glowed intensely, piercing and burning into everyone that dared to look him in the eyes.
"I am not my brother. I did not die fifteen years ago; that was all a ruse. Besides, last time I checked, Alex couldn't transfigure his nails into claws. That's my thing," Harry said calmly but coldly. "Don't mistake me for Alex again or you will regret it."
Harry raised his hand.
"Or would you all like another demonstration?"
"Harry! What—how are you even alive?! I hit you with the killing curse!" Eric exclaimed.
Harry hummed and smiled cheerfully.
"That's for me to know~" he sang. "And for you to figure out."
"Y-you!" an Auror stuttered. "Y-you're really-?!"
"Yes, I am," Harry said.
"Harrison Riddle!" the Auror exclaimed in shock. "But if you're alive, where is Alexander Riddle?!"
"Oh he's...somewhere," Harry said, smirking slightly. "He has no idea I'm doing this or that I was planning to reveal myself...that part was not intended, but I can work with it. So I suppose I just have to become the bigger enemy, bigger than my twin."
Suddenly, a small blur shoved past the Aurors and stood in front of Harry.
"Stop it! I won't let you hurt him! Alex is a friend!" Hugo exclaimed, shaking slightly.
Harry blinked and looked down at the small boy; he raised an eyebrow in slight amusement.
"Hugo! Get away from him!" Ron shouted.
Hermione burst through the wall of Aurors.
"Hugo! Get back here!" she exclaimed. "It's dangerous!"
She froze when she saw Harry. Hermione's eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
"No...it can't be..." she breathed. "H-Harry...?"
"Hey Hermione, long time no see~" Harry purred, smirking dangerously.
Hermione's eyes darted down to her son in panic.
"Hugo, get away from him," she said hurriedly.
"Mom?" Hugo asked, blinking in confusion.
"Get away from him!"
"But mom, it's just Alex," Hugo said.
"That's not Alex! Now get away from him!" Hermione exclaimed.
Harry rested a pale hand on Hugo's head, stroking the little boy's hair gently. Hugo tensed up, suddenly realizing what kind of situation he was in. No one moved a muscle, afraid of what Harry would do.
"What your mother says is true," Harry said, humming in amusement. "I am not Alex."
Harry tightened his grip on Hugo's hair and tugged his head back. Hugo's eyes widened in fear. He couldn't move, Harry's poisonous green gaze paralyzing him. A barrage of memories burst to life in his mind all at once and Hugo cried out from the overwhelming sensation.
"Let him go!" Ron roared, charging forward.
"You wouldn't want to do that, Weasley," Harry said. "The mind is a very delicate thing, you know. I could end up doing something I'd regret later if you interrupt me."
Ron stopped immediately. Harry released Hugo and the little boy crumbled to the ground. He clutched his head as his mind adjusted to the onslaught of new memories.
"What the bloody hell did you do to my son, you psychopath?!" Ron snarled.
"I was merely returning his memories to him," Harry said. "There's no more need for them to be hidden any longer."
Harry shrugged dismissively.
"Anyways, I must be going. It was good seeing you all," he said. "Bye bye now~"
With that, Harry vanished without a trace.
