Top Girls!

"Magical Girl Stig-chan?" Misato blinked at Gendo in surprise.
Gendo looked a mix of amused and profoundly disturbed. "It's apparently a thing," he passed the photocopied pages around as he added, "there's been several dojin done."
"That is just weird and wrong," Ritsuko noted as she took in the somewhat bustier drawn Stig. Wielding a gear-stick wand too. With mini skirt and magical doo-dads added on over her racing gear. It was odd, if sort of cute.
"They aren't doing hentai are they?" Maya asked dubiously.
"Yes, but not this one," Gendo chuckled.
"I also love how she apparently keeps rescuing Maya," Ritsuko pointed out. "Is Stig/Maya a common ship?"
"Ship?" Misato echoed.
"In fandom they 'ship together' couples," Maya said. She looked up, blushing a bit, "Not that I'd know anything about that."
"Of course," Ritsuko looked amused.
Misato coughed to cover up a laugh. "We should totally reference that in a Top Gear episode," she noted to Gendo.
"Oh?" Gendo asked.
"We could do a short animation or something," Satsuki Ooi noted as she took notes.
"Dibs on writing the theme song," Misato waved.
"Theme song?" Maya said dubiously.
"Driving cars by daylight, fighting evil by moon light,
Boy she fits that plugsuit right
She's the one named Stig-chan!"
Ritsuko laughed, "The ending doesn't rhyme. At all."
"Hey, YOU try rhyming Stig-chan," Misato smirked.
"Van?" Maya offered mildly.
"That WOULD kind of make sense," Ritsuko conceded after a moment.
"She'll never take a ride in a Van
She's the one named Stig-chan."
"Don't quit your day job," Gendo advised.
"Everyone's a critic," Misato pouted.

Mari Illustrious Makinami was thankful to be back in Tokyo-3.
(The author had NOT just totally forgotten that he had her in a cameo in the first chapter. Nope. She was just away. That's it.)
Reporting in to SEELE in Germany was always a pain in the ass, but it went with her being a triple agent. Officially working for NERV, secretly working for SEELE, and really working for the UN. Assuming she didn't get a better offer from anyone else, of course.
It was, admittedly, fun to see how perplexed Gendo was making SEELE. Him running NERV AND making a TV show? What was he THINKING? Had he finally cracked? What was the secret plan that was running behind his seemingly mad actions?
Personally Mari thought he was just screwing with SEELE. His making the show was fun, made NERV popular and as a bonus it had the guys at SEELE pulling what was left of their hair out in agrivation. Good thing all around.
"Honey I'm home!" Mari declared as she opened the apartment door.
Germanic swearing was heard from the back.
'Ah, Asuka's here,' Mari smiled as she went inside.
Unlike some series, and the usual Evangelion canon, they did NOT stick a teenaged boy and several hormonally active girls together in an apartment, supervised by a hard drinking shotacon.

"I am NOT a hard drinking shotacon!" Misato complained to the author. "Hard drinking, yes, shotacon no..."
How about that bit in End of Evangelion?
"That was a special case!" Misato complained. "Besides, I was dying. It wasn't like I was going to be around to carry through..."
Yeah, yeah. Whatever...

Asuka, thankfully, was not in the kitchen. She could successfully cook Germanic stuff like sausage and beer, but that was about it. The two women usually ordered take out or ate one of Rei's vegetarian dishes. The girl could kill and cook a tasty tofu.
"Welcome back," Asuka waved from where they sat on the living room couch where Rei was murdering her in a video game again.
"Hey," Mari nodded just as Rei's fighting character just unleashed a devestating combo and grusomely killed Asuka.
"SHIT!" Asuka yelped then started cursing in German. Again.
Rei calmly made a 'V' for victory sign.
"Why do you even play her?" Mari had to ask. "She's just going to kill you again."
"Oh shut up," Asuka growled. "According to Misato this is valuable combat simulations."
"Or she just likes watching the streaming video of Rei murdering you," Mari noted as she also flopped down on the couch.
"That would not surprise me," Asuka conceded.
"Did you have anything to eat after your flight arrived?" Rei asked politely.
"No, and the plane food was dire," Mari made a face.
Rei passed the controller to Mari, "If you could continue killing Asuka for me, I will start dinner."
"Will do," Mari agreed eagerly.
"Why do you assume I'm going to die?" Asuka complained as they started another round.
"Because you suck at video games?" Mari shrugged cheerfully.
"I hate you," Asuka sighed. And, as expected, died again reasonably quickly...

"I have a daaaaaate! I have a date!" Satsuki Ooi danced around her office happily, her jumpsuit hugging her shapely body.
Fellow 'media relations officer' and general go-for Kaede Agano looked at her friend and co-worker with amusement. "Who with?" she asked as she sorted documents at her desk.
"Maya Ibuki," Satsuki smiled.
Kaede raised a eyebrow, "I didn't know you swung that way."
"Don't tell me you don't find Maya cute," Satsuki looked at her archly.
"Point..." Kaede conceded. Tho admittedly she was more into guys, hence her fling with Kaji and recently Gendo. He had been rather needy after Ritsuko broke things off with him.
Speaking of Ritsuko... "Are you sure you want to risk that?" Kaede asked.
"Huh?" Satsuki asked.
"You HAVE noticed how Ritsuko hisses and growls when someone so much as LOOKS at Maya?" Kaede pointed out mildly.
"Ugh," Satsuki sighed. YES she had seen more than one time where Ritsuko had been more than a bit jealous of anyone around Maya. "That woman totally needs to get laid," she sighed.
Kaede nearly choked on a sip of coffee. "PLEASE say that in front of her," Kaede laughed, "I want to see her rip you apart."
"She's not THAT bad," Satsuki protested.
Kaede gave her a look.
"Okay, she's that bad," Satsuki sighed. "I'll chance it, tho... Maya's too cute not to risk it."
"Your funeral," Kaede shrugged.
"I'm heading home early to change," Satsuki waved as she hurried off, "see you tomorrow!"
To be continued...
Notes: YES this is a lot more 'fourth wall breaking' than usual. Sorry.
Magical Girl Stig-Chan is a direct swipe from DrunkenGrognard's Top Gear: The MidChilda Special. If you have not read it, it's a MUCH better Top Gear fanfic than mine.
I had featured Mari WAY back in the first chapter as the model for the 'sexy fun times' plugsuit, but then just kinda forgot about her. So working her back in.
Evangelion, as a series, has Shinji and Asuka room together for plot reasons, not common sense reasons. You do NOT put two teens who are on the cusp of sexual activity in an apartment together, mostly unsupervised, unless you want grandkids. Heh. So no, we're not doing that.
