Warn: This story may have heavy and uncomfortable themes/situations like use of drugs, violence, suicide, abuse, sexual harassment, rape, depression, trauma and bad language. If you do not like such, Do not read this.

ToBlazePurple: I second guessed if Fubuki should do that, but after seeing him help Manjoume, I was convinced he can do that and much more for the sake of his pairings XD. About Ryo, I don't think he particularly had any ill intentions and probably just wanted to tell his brother dueling is serious business, the problem being that Shou was a kid and took it hard, even missing the point of those words, and his inferiority complex was more due to his lack of confidence in dueling than not actually having skills (and that was also part of what Ryo told him in Camula's arc, to have confidence in his dueling).

presea221: Well, their meeting was very unusual, so they're still having it in their minds. About Fubuki XD he really wants to set Ryo with someone, they left him out of the whole story which is why he's still doing reckless attempts (and lost on why they're rebuking him), this Fubuki is unfixable. Even though some time passed, he did (inadvertently) see Rie in underwear in that first chapter and cutely tried to make her less uncomfortable, but he is not that great with words. Fubuki will continue his schemes and he will explain why he chose that location too XD Ryo and Rie will need to find a way out of the cave on their own, though.

Chapter 12: Trapped

Ryo is at loss and a worried glint installs on his orbs seeing the girl there. Rie goes to his side and brings one of his arms around her, swimming towards a piece of land, she puts his arm on the land and he gets a hold of himself, using her remaining strength, she comes out of the water and helps him out too.

They both plop to the ground after this, heaving hard, recovering from all the exercise. Supporting himself on both hands, he sits down and looks at the lantern he has been holding, turning it on. It flickers twice, but stabilizes.

The light is directed to the person beside him: Rie is also sitting, she shields her eyes by putting the arm in front, he can see the shadows projected on her face.

"Rie… Why are you here? I thought he was lying about you falling..."

She opens her mouth to speak, puzzling him, seeing his confusion, she closes her lips shut, in shame and lowers her gaze anguished. From her pocket, she takes her device, but instead of typing, she handles it to him.

"Huh…? Me? Why…?"

He looks at it using the only source of light, the screen is cracked and no matter how many times he presses the buttons, nothing happens. A sigh of dismay comes out of his lips. She can't talk like this, can she? What bothers him the most is the fact she feels bad for it.

"That Fubuki… I'll teach him a lesson when I'm out of here..." he clutches the device in his hand and throws it aside annoyedly.

From his own pocket, he takes his own device and hands it to her, she is startled at first and exchanges looks between the object and him.

"Here. It's probably different from the one you had, but this should do it, right?"

She takes it on both hands, nodding with a saddened expression and shrinking her shoulders. Her posture denounces that she is frightened, not that he can't understand why, the water level just raised and it will get worse from now on, he also feels time pressured.

"Thank you for before, you helped out of the water..." he smiles faintly "But how did you know I was here? It is all pitch dark."

She proceeds to type the text quickly, it still seems to work properly. She the screen to him with her brows curling up in worry:

"I heard the sound of someone falling into the water and jumped in to help. I also heard Fubuki-san's voice… And yours."

"Did he also…?" he didn't finish the question, but she understood it and confirmed it confidently. "That damn, Fubuki..." he puts a hand to his forehead, how could his friend be so troublesome and extreme.

He stands up and takes a look around using the light: the land path seems to go deeper and considering the water levels are increasing, they might want to find a way out. The entrance is too high up for them to sit idly and wait, they'd drown before they have the chance to reach that height if they wait for the water to fully fill the cave, they do not have enough endurance for that.

Rescue will probably not come unless someone passes by outside and can hear them among the wild sea and the walls are too steep and dangerous to climb. "We can't use that entrance to go out."

He sees the text on her device, she lowers her head with a deeply troubled sigh, putting a hand to her chin to think, then her gaze directs towards the depths of the cave, he directs his flashlight there too.

"So this was his plan all along, huh? There is no other option..."

He gulps. Is Fubuki even aware how dangerous that is? And how did he even get Rie there? He sure hopes there was nothing like a kidnapping involved.

"How did you get in here, Rie…? Tell me what he did, I'll scold him for it all later. He has it coming."

"He told me Ryo-san was in trouble and called me here..."

His eyes flinch? Him? He used him as bait? Even so she came here? He can't believe he worried Rie by lying to her like that. She looks at the entrance with a sense of guilt:

"I was completely fooled, he told me you fell down inside here. While I tried to locate you, he pushed me in..."

"That guy..."he shakes his head in disapproval, his voice comes out grave in annoyance. "Well, we don't have much of a choice now, I am sorry for this, but we need to find a way out ourselves."

She looks at him with wavering eyes, unsure if they would be able to do it, but nods with her head. He puts a hand to her shoulder, tapping it lightly and his lips curve softly in a tiny smile, trying to ease the mood and assure her.

"Let's go."

Turning around, he lights the dim path ahead. Now that they are trapped together, how will they get out of this predicament? And what exactly does Fubuki expect to gain from this? With many doubts in mind, Kaiser coldly sets his worries aside, he needs to be very calm here, his brows curl in pity as he takes a peek over his shoulder to the girl tagging behind with an anguished expression.

They must find an exit and get back to the academy, but the water rises faster than he'd like, the sole of his feet are already submerged. How could his friend be so thoughtless and put both of them in such a dire situation after all the troubles that Rie had… Not that Fubuki is even aware a tenth of what transpired while he was away.

"No, it's not time for this..." he shoves those thoughts away.

He needs to be strong for their sake or things will just get worse. With a decided mind, he continues onwards to an unknown path.

The sound of water splashing at each step is the only one echoing in the silent cave, they can hear the muffled sound of seawater flowing into the place, coming from far behind. They've walked a considerate amount, but there is no sign of any other way.

They are lost. With a frown, Ryo halts his steps suddenly and flashes the light all around, on the ceiling too. He loses a bit of his balance when Rie bumps into his back. Then immediately turns around, putting the light on her face.

"I'm sorry, Rie! I was checking the..."

She uses a hand to block the strong brightness into her eyes and the other arm to gesture he shouldn't worry about her. He diverts the light to the side a bit, giving rest to her orbs. A low sigh comes out of his lips. He is troubled by that whole situation. There are so many things wrong in there he can't even start to list them, but…

"Ryo-san, we need to continue."

She pulls his sleeve, the bright display of her screen makes his eyes squint slightly. Unlike when they started, her face has a better expression and she seems more collected. He nods in resignation, but his chest harbors all those concerns intimately.

A few more minutes of a silent walk occur, the quietness is just awkward, his brows furrow deeper in discomfort, he hears her footsteps ceasing and turns around to find the screen of the device almost hitting his face, forcing him to step back.

"I am sorry I can't make good jokes or talk." an abashed smile comes to her face as she closes her eyes.

"Why are you saying this all of sudden?" the question makes her head sink down.

"You'd probably feel better if I could speak while we walk, right? Wouldn't you feel more assured and less worried if there was someone talking to you so you know they are there? Isn't that what other people do in those cases?"

He is astonished, even in a situation like this she was thinking about how he felt? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Wouldn't she be feeling even worse in this case? With a compassionate frown he replies:

"Don't say things like this… You're not a ghost, even if you don't speak I know you're here… plus, I am not the chattiest person in the world. I am fine with silence."

Her eyes are locked on his with some sort of admiration, he feels ashamed of himself for being so clumsy with words in times like this, but at least she is not as depressed. In the end, wasn't she the one feeling the worst for not being able to do anything in such a situation?

"Here."

He stretches his free hand towards her, she stares blankly at it not comprehending what he means.

"You can hold my hand if it makes you feel better. I will know you are close."

Her heart skips a beat for a moment, her blue orbs flicker wildly and her cheeks gain color. Upon noticing the meaning of his own words, he flinches, averting his gaze shyly to the side.

"I didn't mean to… You don't need to… Ugh..."

"Smooth, Ryo, very smooth." He curses himself mentally, grumbling in discomfort.

She timidly looks down. He turns around at a loss for words, walking ahead, keeping his mouth shut might be better. The water level rose so much their bodies are more than halfway underwater. How long until they are completely submerged?

The only sound they can hear is the movement of the waves on the water as they walk. He feels a tug on his coat, then casts a glance back, she is looking around somewhat panicked.

He whirls around, wondering what could be wrong, she shivers, freezing in place with a disgusted face, then suddenly she grabs his coat even harder, clinging to him, her head seeking a hideout on his chest.

"What happened...?" he is startled and partially lost in what to do.

She trembles unstoppably. He feels something brush past his leg, she clutches him, shaking in fear of whatever is underwater.

"Rie, calm down, It's probably just a fish..."his hand lands over her shoulder.

He says that, but he can't see what is underneath the dark veil of water even after shedding light to it, scrutinizing his surroundings, he frowns. His eyes got used to darkness to a certain extent, however it was not enough to know where they were even going.

His orbs oscillate upon watching her quiver, he should have noticed earlier she probably was feeling afraid this whole time. She had enough awful moments piled in her life as it is, having another one caused by Fubuki was the last thing she needed now.

He didn't want to see her crumbling again in pain, her lifeless eyes. His heart tightens as those memories border his conscience, his hand on her shoulder inadvertently grips it stronger.

Was he not reliable enough for her? No, if that was the case she wouldn't be clinging to him for help now, would she? Or depending on his lead. She did trust him and she said that once, but what could he do in that situation? They were unfortunately on the same boat.

He wishes he could say it is alright, but he is very sure nothing is right about their current status. They don't know where they are or where to go, literally in the darkness. He can't even tell if she is crying right now or not with how soaked their clothes are.

"Wait… If this is a fish, then… There must be a way for them to enter, right…? Where are they coming from and where are they going to…?"

Struck with this realization, taking both her hands off his coat, he pushes her away gently, letting only one of her hands go and keeping the other, he pulls her along to not get separated in that maze of tunnels. She blushes at his gesture, right now, he holds her hand tightly, guiding her through the place.

"Rie, we might be close to some opening… If there are fish, then..."

That moment is interrupted by a strange sound of water flowing stronger, they both look behind as the sound grows louder. Their eyes almost pop out when they see a huge amount of water intruding the whole tunnel they walk in, they attempt to run towards the opposite direction, but it completely swallows them.

The surge pushes them around and they're underwater again, drowning. Kaiser feels the currents that just formed swinging him around strongly, he lets go of the lantern, unable to keep a grip on it, it swirls around him. His chest feels compressed as more and more water tries to come into his mouth.

An underwater current shoves him to a rocky wall and he hits his head, his mouth open in pain as he swallows water, his eyes try to keep open, but the flashes of black from his eyelids closing become more frequent.

The last thing he can see is a trail of blood floating around and Rie swimming closer with a panicked expression, but she is also swayed away by the current while stretching her hand desperately. He makes a last effort, trying to reach out his hand to her, but it is useless. His consciousness fades away quickly and he drowns to the bottom.

His mind dives into a world of darkness. Why is this happening? Did Fubuki not consider he could be killing them like that? He does not know how long it has been since he entered that cave, but the tide just became higher. How much longer until they find an exit? No… is he even alive…?

From afar, he hears the sound of water dripping close to his ears and a growing aching feeling striking his chest, as if something wanted to come out of it. He can feel a warm breath near his face and the smell of saltwater. As his blood flows stronger, his eyes open wide in an instant.

Rie's face is so close, holding her dripping wet hair back with one hand and pinching his nose with the other, bending over him. He can feel her lips brush on his for a brief moment, her eyes open wide and waver, she blushes as the pair of bluish orbs directly look into hers.

His blood races even more with the sight, but he has no time to be embarrassed, she jolts back when his expression twitches in pain, he sits up straight with the sudden sensation his chest will burst and starts coughing out lots of water.

His nose and throat burns as he coughs more and more saltwater, with a hand to his chest, his lungs also don't feel the greatest. From the dimmed light of the almost out of battery flashlight thrown on the ground, he can see her cheeks are still slightly red as she crawls closer to him, sitting and putting a hand to his back, patting it softly upon hearing his hoarse wheezing.

"Rie..." he finally says with a grumbled tone. "You were trying to bring me back…?"

She gestures frantically, casting an abashed stare at him for a moment, her vision is blurred by tears that form on the corners as she confirms he is still alive. Her eyes shine even amidst that darkness.

"Wait… I am fine, don't cr-" he coughs more and more, until he needs to stop the sentence and take deep, arduous breaths.

His head hurts, he touches it to check the state, there is still some fresh blood staining his fingers. He hit that rock really hard back then, but it should be fine, it will eventually stop.

"Are you ok…?"

She averts her gaze, her lips curve down as if she is about to cry, she puts a hand to her chest shaking her head with sorrowful denial.

"No?" He is surprised with the answer.

He can read her lips saying his name, but as she forms more sentences, he can't comprehend what she is trying to say, she touches her throat with a horrified expression, almost clutching it with her own hand.

He looks around, she does not hold any sort of communicator, did she lose it? Or did it break? She looks frightened at the water that flows even more to the cave, but they are in a safe portion of land. For now.

His expression wrinkles in frustration and anguish. She had to take him out of the water to save him, but because of that now she couldn't speak. This is certainly the most useless he has ever felt in his life after the abandoned dorm.

"I am sorry… Rie… I am sorry..." he clenches his fists tightly "Because of me, you… Again..."

She is shocked by his words, he seems even more frustrated than the day they had that dark duel in the abandoned dorms. Reaching her hands to his shoulders, she shakes her head rebuffing it. Trying to soothe him by indicating it is not his fault.

She opens her mouth to pronounce a phrase, but stops after a second, it would not be possible for him to understand it anyways. Disappointed in herself, she turns her gaze down and lets go of his shoulders.

He attempts to stand up and help her out, but when he is still bent, a sharp sting rushes down his body, from his head, he stumbles over, she tries to catch him in reflex, but ends up falling along.

His fall is cushioned by her body, both his head and chest still ache, his eyes close tightly from the pain. He makes efforts to hold his own weight up, raising his torso with trembling arms.

When his eyes open he finds himself in an inappropriate situation: His torso is raised over hers, like the first they met, both his arms block her way on the sides. His mind travels to the past, those memories of that time overlap with the image of the girl he sees now. His face flushes with the sudden speed in the flux of blood in his veins spreading all over. He is lost in her eyes for a moment.

Why did he care so much for her? For her feelings? Or what her opinion of him was? It's not like it should matter to him. He felt bad for using her to ask about Fubuki, but after that, why did he still keep trying to talk to her despite not having a reason to? Did he really not have a reason to? Maybe he wanted one.

After what transpired in the abandoned dorms, to witness that girl who was always crying to be smiling after what seemed like a long nightmare to her, that was one of the most beautiful and captivating sights he'd ever seen. He wanted more of that person who could easily see underneath his coldness and reach out to him as another person.

Everyone around him just put him on a pedestal, a level they could not reach. True enough he is serious about his dueling and is hardly the most approachable individual, but those words linger in his mind, rooting deeply. That he is perfect. It just makes his realization all more bitter. Perfect? He can't even help a single girl. Not before and not now.

Winning duels? Having popularity? What does it matter now? He is stuck in a cave with this girl who could see through him, and all he can show is a pathetic, worthless side. He is the one that needed saving here. He feels intimately ashamed of that.

This whole time, he thought he'd been different, that he didn't feel anything of sort for her, not in a romantical way at least. Even so, why is his heart so eager to beat? Why does he keep having an image of her in his mind even though he knows it is not proper for the moment? Why can't he just forget it? Why does he feel so drawn to her? This uncontrollable feeling that makes his throat dry as if he is about to lose control of himself right there. Since when did he become so infatuated with her?

No, he knew it for some time already, didn't he? He knew he felt like this all along, ever since what happened at the dorms, but because he likes to maintain his composure, he never let himself be aware of that and pretended to not feel anything. He buried those feelings deep in his chest. For what? Now that it's just the two of them, he has to face it.

"Rie..." his voice sounds more like a breathtaking whisper than a call.

She sits down, forcing him to snap out of his phantasies and sit back too. Her brows furrow upwards in an anguished expression. Possibly, she remembered it too. He averts his gaze, feeling abashed, just what was he thinking by standing still in that position like that?

His heart tightens in his chest as if it wants to stop upon seeing her pained expression as she pats his shoulder. Again, this feeling. Just now she attempted to comfort him and help, didn't she? Even though she had the harder time bringing him out of the water in those conditions. He has no idea how she even managed to do it alone. He can't even imagine what she has been feeling in such a predicament. He wants to comfort her too.

His lips open and his eyes oscillate afflicted as he tries to muster courage to say more, but stops himself on the way as she is distracted, drifting into her own mind with a weary expression.

He puts a hand on her face caressing her cheek with his thumb, surprising her. Her skin is so smooth, he has never paid attention to that before, then why now of all times…? His eyes flicker conflicted. A fierce affection filling them. She is so pretty. She has always been.

From the color of her hair, to her shape and most of it all, her smile. He'd give anything to open a smile on her face, especially now.

"Why do I feel like this? I know this is not the moment to be wasting my time with such thoughts, still… I… that's right, I should be thinking in a way to get out of here… But..."

His face draws closer, she is frozen looking into him in confusion as he stops a few centimeters from her, she can feel his breath blow warmly on her skin, but is too stunned to react.

Clutching his fist and clenching his teeth, he feels confused, all that is on his mind is her, he wants to embrace her and soothe her feelings too, to kiss her right there, God knows, more than just that. But why? What is wrong with him? Did he hit his head too hard? He has problems to solve right now.

She is all alone with him in this place, and had to go as far as to breathe air into his mouth to bring him back, this cannot be good for her, can it? After all, he is a man too, different from the ones who harmed her, but is that really how she sees the situation? If he wanted to do anything with her no one would ever notice, this is the type of scenario Fubuki put them in.

Regardless of all she has suffered, all she had to cope with, to be thinking of spending time like that with her here instead of trying to get out, remembering how she was on the first day they met and wishing for...

This is just unacceptable. To think he, the Kaiser, had such thoughts and feelings dwelling inside him, he is no different from all those other boys then. It is true that Fubuki was the mastermind behind this forged encounter, but more than angry at his friend, he feels furious at himself for letting himself get tempted.

He has never been like this before, so driven by desire and not thinking straight with his brain. Now he really feels like his hormones are getting to him. He has been occupying himself with duels and his duties, but when it comes to Rie, he just loses his sense completely and casts aside everything else. Why does he even feel like that about her? It is unlike him to express his emotions so strongly.

"To even think of taking advantage of a delicate situation like this … I am the worst..." muttering those words mentally to himself as a scolding, his face backs off a few centimeters, hesitating.

Her eyes flicker in confusion awaiting for an answer of what he is doing, it is so dark, but she can still see him from this close up. He takes his hand away from her face and slides it to the back of her head instead, bringing her close in an embrace, her silhouette firmly enveloped with ease by him, she doesn't hide her surprise. His hands are so tender.

Her hands hesitate for a fleeting second before corresponding to that embrace, accommodating on the lines of his broad back welcomingly. An unusually cold embrace that soothes her fears.

"Rie, even if you can't speak, I can understand what you wanted to say… Thank you for helping me." He then pulls her away, putting his hands on her shoulders "I want to talk a lot to you too, but that will need to wait. First, we have to find a way out of here."

With a faint, rueful and kind smile he replies, her brows furrow as if remembering the predicament they are in and she nods saddened. He gets up slowly, still feeling the burning sensation from swallowing too much water and helps her stand up.

Studying the surroundings, he can't find the flashlight anymore, it most likely ran out of battery by now. One of their student's devices is lost and the other is broken, all ahead of them now is darkness.

He puts a hand to the wall, he will touch the way through the darkness if necessary. With a worried expression he stretches his other hand out to hers, reaching to it and holding it amidst the darkness. She looks ahead in an uneasy mood, then gently accepts that hand offered to her, nodding firmly with her head.

His hand is gelid, unlike the last times she had ever touched it, but she still trusts him to guide them out of there, unconsciously, she squeezes it. His eyebrows angle up, he can feel her fingers quivering subtly as they cling to his palm. She is trying to be strong and not cry.

Without saying a word, he casts aside those thoughts and with a determined gaze, he invests his time into touching the walls to feel the way. They walk tiredly, this time they can hear the small grains of sand and rocks crackling under their feet.

How long have they been there? This sense of not knowing anything crawls into their minds, making it all more stressing and draining. He hears her breath becoming more unstable, her hands quiver more apparently too.

"Rie… What is wrong?"

He casts a glance over his shoulder, even in the darkness she can see his greyish-blue orbs worriedly looking into her eyes. She lets go of his hand and rubs her arms, attempting to tell she feels cold. Both their clothes were wet since they first entered, it's not surprising they might be close to having hypothermia around now.

"That is true… I also feel cold... It's probably night outside and there is this icy wind blowing too..."

His eyes widen for a moment after he says those words, noticing something important, he immediately looks to the path in front of them. The wind! It means there is an opening somewhere.

"I think we are close, come! Maybe we can get out of here soon!"

He grabs her hand again without any ceremony and drags her in a quick pace of steps. He stops when his feet are over an edge of the land and the small rocks on the ground roll down to the water, causing a small splashing sound to echo.

What shocks them is the fact they can see the water and the whole layout of the place they are in. There is moonlight coming from a big hole in the ceiling. They can see the sky and clouds, both of them exchange enthusiastic glances and smile in relief.

He scans the surroundings, the sound of water falling in surges at spaced intervals sets his brain into alert. From the hole, he can hear the waves crashing into the rocks and water flows into the cave. Some fishes come along, agitating the deep pool of water under their feet.

"It is too tall for us… And the water level is not raising much more than this it seems… But… If this part is already out, then maybe, this water down here is connected to the sea!"

Resuming his thoughts with an optimistic conclusion, he turns around with a serious expression, placing his hands on her shoulders.

"Listen, Rie. I need to confirm if this pool of water connects to the ocean, you will need to wait here, but I will come to pick you up. Can you do that?"

She immediately gasps and grabs one of his arms, shaking her head aplenty in denial, panicked even.

"I swallowed a bit of water back there, but I am fine now. I just want to ascertain we're not going to a dead end. It will be fine..." he puts his hand over hers, taking it off his arm kindly and putting it down.

He can see her lips moving to call his name as she stretches her arms with a worn out expression. He averts his gaze away from her in a pained manner, closing his fists, he rushes and dives into the water.

The pool of water goes deep, but he can see light on the bottom and a hole, after passing under the hole, he looks up, it's a bit far, but he sees the moonlight coming through the surface, the end of that torment.

Not wasting more time, he swims back and startles Rie when his head comes out of the water, trying to catch a breath. She walks over to the edge, kneeling down.

"You can come, but we will need to hold our breath for more than a minute. Do you think you can do it? Even if you can't, don't worry, I will… Definitely take you out of here."

She is stunned with his bold words. Her cheeks redden slightly as he stretches his hand out, inviting her to come. With wavering eyes, she jumps into the sea too.

He leads the way, he must've been more tired than her because he had to do it more times, even so it feels like she is the only one having troubles breathing. Her chest feels clamped, she clenches her teeth both from the cold and to keep her air inside, her eyes squint, but she can see rays of light coming from up there.

Ryo hesitates for a moment, looking at her having difficulties to come up, he goes a bit back and grabs her wrist, swimming upwards again, helping her reach the top. They both open their mouths wide longing for air after resurging at the surface.

The waves swing them, they keep floating while still gasping to recover their breath. He looks around, they're in the open sea, but he can see the coast not too far, he then proceeds swimming there and she follows behind. He is the first to touch the sand and helps her come out of the ocean.

Sitting on the sand with relief, his breath sounds strained while she supports herself on her hands, but then drops to the ground, tired. Closing her eyes for a second. He comes to her side, to check on her, before he touches her back, she pushes herself up, sitting on the sand too, smiling in relief.

He sits back amazed by her smile, averting his gaze once more. Before they have time to fully recover, someone approaches them at the shore. He frowns at the sight of his friend.

"You…"

With one hand, he pushes himself up furiously, clenching his fists and sand falls from his clothes. A deep wrinkle of irritation forms in between his eyes and it darkens his expression under the dim light of the moon.

"Congratulations! You are both back! I knew you could do it! How was it?" he chuckles, not knowing even half of the troubles he just caused.

He smiles cheerfully, but a nervous twitch occurs when he notices the gazes of both of them set on him with an overwhelming and fiery pressure in them. Notably, Kaiser had the most choleric glare he'd ever seen during their whole friendship.

"Fubuki..."

He say between his teeth, unable to stand the friend's idiocy and with and aggressive gesture of his hand he challenges him:

"You'd better have a good explanation for all this!"

"Humph. I knew you'd question my wisdom, but I had good intentions. I want to hear it from you, Ryo, your true feelings!"

"Fine! If you want to know it so hard, let's settle it with a duel! I will crush you piece by piece, Fubuki!"

Surprised with the challenge and in how enraged his friend sounded, he smiles defiantly and throws a duel disk, he had to admire how the Kaiser could keep up with a duel after wearing himself out in the wild.

Rie watches it from behind, standing up with wobbly legs from the tiredness, with a conflicted and anguished expression. Why were they dueling right now? Is this whole mess not over yet?
