This is all Lady Razorsharp and Bonsaiiiiiiii's fault…

EOS looked again.

She really didn't need to, she wasn't human after all, but double-checking was something that John did when something didn't 'add up'. And this didn't add up. At all.

Scott Tracy's signal and vitals had just blinked out of existence.

EOS ran.

She ploughed down to Earth, jumping straight to Thunderbird One and her outside monitors.

Scott was assisting local rescues services with a building collapse. Everyone had been rescued except one, and Scott had just told her he'd reached them and was preparing to evac the victim.

'Everything is fine, EOS. Concentrate on John and Alan.'

And so she had, because they were towing a tanker into the Spacehub and their flight was a little erratic. EOS was making micro-compensations to keep everyone safe.

The building she'd left only two minutes earlier had disappeared into a pile of rubble. It had only just happened, the dust was still in the air. She watched as the people around dropped everything and descended on the debris.

If EOS had lungs she's pretty sure she'd be holding her breath in shock.

John and Alan had finished their rescue. The tanker had been safely deposited on the Lunar Spacehub and Alan was catching up with Conrad.

Virgil had just picked up Thunderbird Four and was about to set off for home.

With one eye on the people quickly forming queues to remove the rubble as quickly and safely as possible, EOS opened comms.

'John! It's Scott!'

The chatter in both Thunderbirds fell silent immediately, the panic in EOS' voice carrying clear across the 'birds engines.

'EOS. Report.'

'The building has collapsed with Scott still inside.'

'Scott?'

'I don't know! I'm not getting anything. No signal, no vitals. Nothing!'

If EOS had been human Gordon would have said she was shouting in her panic.

Two sped up drastically, Virgil pushing her to her limits. He had no doubt that Alan was doing the same with Three. But neither of them would get there for some time, half an hour for Two and about fifteen minutes for Three.

'Keep us informed, EOS.'

John's voice was clipped, and Virgil grimaced. They all had their own tells of panic – Alan got quiet, Gordon put on his military persona, Virgil got all Medic on them…Scott shouted – but John got clipped, concise.

They listened to EOS giving a running commentary, and Virgil cursed that his beloved bird was so far away.

'They've been found!'

Unconsciously Virgil sped up a little.

Up in the upper atmosphere Alan had to fight hard not to do the same, doing so on re-entry would be disastrous.

If Gordon had thought that EOS had shouted before, it was nothing compared to the scream of the next statement.

'HE'S NOT BREATHING!'

Re-entry be damned. As long as Alan kept the angle of descent they would be fine. He pushed the throttle and they shot forward. John didn't say anything.

Two screamed at her pilot as Virgil did the same, pushing her so hard that there was a vibration from somewhere that shouldn't be there. But Gordon understood, flicking buttons to try to compensate somehow. Thank goodness Brains overengineered everything.

'They're taking Scott to Mercy Hospital.'

'FAB, EOS. Tell the hospital we are coming in hot. ETA five minutes for Three and…'

'Ten minutes for Two, EOS.'

'FAB. You will need to set both Thunderbirds down in Conway Park.'
