Captain Jack
His deep, charcoal eyes were closed. Even in death Jack Sparrow seemed to be teasing fate, daring it to send another adventure his way. He would raise anchor and be out of port by the next moon, that was just the way he was; always laughing in the face of danger. Was being the key word.
Will stood strong, wiping a single tear from his cheek as he comforted his sobbing wife, Elizabeth. He remembered all the good times he had had with Jack since he had met him little over three years ago. He grinned as he relived their first encounter. He had wanted Jack dead so much, and now he was. More then a little ironic. Standing on the starboard side-deck of the Black Pearl, Will, Elizabeth, Mr Gibbs and the rest of the ships crew were saying their finial farewells to their beloved friend.
"Jack was a Casanova if I eva' seen one." Mr Gibbs growled in his gruff voice, "Stole hearts of many a women. Who could blame 'em for fallin' for him, Argh? Jack was a good man; he'd seen and done it all. Guess death was the only thing he'd hadn't, what say you?"
"Aye." All those gathered replied as Will left his wife to finish the eulogy.
"Jack always had a way of brining the adventurous side out of us all, heck. Most of us have nearly been killed ourselves trying to save his skin. Either that or we were all to blind drunk on rum to remember." Grinned Will, thinking back to his night before the wedding, "But now we have to carry on by ourselves. Doubt it'll be as interesting as before, but Argh? Who's gonna' sail the Black Pearl if we don't?"
"Aye!" the crew answered, chins forward stubbornly as a silent pact never to surrender.
"To CAPTIAN Jack Sparrow!" Will roughly pulled Jack's hat onto its owners head for the last time.
"To Captain Jack!" Everyone repeated, dropping Jack overboard, back into his native Caribbean ocean and setting sails to their next great adventure.
Will could have sworn he a smile flickered across the older mans face before the ocean swallowed him whole; someone had finally called him by this proper name.
