Here's a brief Q & A for this chapter.

EquinoxWolf: I suppose you're right. Next time, I should save the info for the weapons of the gang's for later. Particularly in the sequel to this once I get that far.

Also, for the Clue bottle Pages, I suppose I can use that Sly 2 suggestion too, and have them all put in the safe of the boss's room as well, while I can also put the more interesting, and useful power-ups, (Like the decoy, and the hat mine.) in the level itself. But I suppose I can put them in the boss's safe too.

T.O.T Chapter 2

Sly, and Carmelita decided to take the door to the very left to start their heist against Raleigh, after some looking around to take notice of their surroundings. Especially when it came to avoiding, and stealthily taking out the flashlight guard that they were prepared to take down when they go toward the door that was elevated. Which is the door that they were going to go to, next.

But right now, they were choosing the door to the left, as they entered one of the rooms, that they would roam around in to steal a treasure Key from Raleigh.

Which would put them closer to getting to him in his blimp.

Once they went through the hall, they ended up coming into the room where they saw double doors that ended up opening for them. Showing that behind them was a bunch of open furnace doors that was spewing out fire, like a dragon. Which had both Sly, and Carmelita feeling like their fur was getting singed, just standing close to them.

But the doors, looking like they were opened upwards, gave Sly an idea, on how he could close them.

Being that he would jump upwards, while swinging his cane downwards onto the door, slamming the door shut, and stopping the fire from spewing out, Giving the Thieves a way past it.

Where they ended up seeing a mallet guard, but he was taken out by Carmelita's shock pistol before they went onwards.

"Eureka! You guys are in the Engine room! Now according to my analysis, if you guys follow the spinning crankshaft all the way to its source, you should find your ways to the Treasure Key, and sabotage the machine along the way!" Bentley said.

Much to both thieves delight, since it'd mean that they would put a stop to Raleigh's plan for the storm. Now they had an extra incentive to keep on going as they went onwards through the room.

While taking out another fire breathing guard along the way through. Where they also stood on the slow piston platforms that moved up and down in the water while barely keeping the top of it at the surface. Which means that they have no worry of getting put in deep water that would drown them.

After going through another walk way, and jumping over another piston platform, they ended up shimmying around the platform, before climbing a rope, with Carmelita leading the climb.

It's a good thing she wasn't wearing a skirt at this point, or Sly could've gotten a nosebleed from the obvious reason why.

"Enjoying the view from debajo, (below,) Ringtail?" Carmelita teasingly asked with a smile, wagging her tail around, while putting more sway to her rear as she climbed.

Sly ended up blushing at that, even though he smiled at that too, since he did get flirted with, and teased by Carmelita even while in the orphanage. (Not in a romantic sense though, as they were friends back then before they gotten older, and became lovers.) But he didn't mind as he nodded.

Carmelita couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the response, as she kept on climbing up, swaying her rear around, until they got to the top. While a part of Sly did wish that she wore a skirt that time if she wouldn't mind his upskirt peeking.

But he didn't think about that, as he, and Carmelita kept on moving through the room, shimmying around the same pillar, before going over another walkway, then getting on a slowly spinning axle that was turning a large shaft that was also slowly rolling around, putting them up to the height of the three bar grate blocking their way. But Sly's cane was strong enough to break it, letting them through.

Where they continued on through the hall, taking out another guard, before seeing some more of the furnace doors that they had to jump on together to close them shut, causing them both to bounce in the air. Before dropping into the lower room where they saw another mallet guard on the bottom. Which Sly also took down.

Then past another grate, they ended up seeing what looked like an electrified shaft that also had electrified spinning fan blades that also looked like they could shock the pair of thieves, as well as slice them into ribbons if they were not careful with their steps.

"Let's be careful Carms, those things look dangerous." Sly said, using his own nickname for Carmelita.

"No need to tell me twice, Sly." She responded as they now walked forward.

Where they made sure to avoid the lines where the fan blades was going to touch the floor that they were on, before moving forward through the path while avoiding the rest of the blades until they got to the end of the path, where they had to clobber another blowtorch guard. Where after they climbed up the rope nearby, (This time with Sly on the top.) they ended up clobbering another guard, before seeing that there was a next set of blades that threatened to chop them, and electrocute them, only they were now under a thin wire pipe that they were forced to climb across to the other end.

It was a little nerve wracking, but they both noticed that the wire pipe had some sections that was shredded, leaving only the thin, but tough wire exposed that kept the pipe connected, and they were also the spots where the electric fan blades touched them, showing them the spots that both of them should avoid.

That had them feeling less nervous as they were now climbing across the path, using the wire pipe that was able to hold them up pretty well, regardless of their combined weight, and they climbed their way across the pipe to the other side of the moving fan blades, where they jumped to the next wire pipe that had more fan blades on the next set, much to their dismay.

Especially since they could feel the buzzing of the electricity in their fur, when they're near the blades. Which had them feeling nervous of getting shocked.

Thankfully, it was a shorter set as they soon reached the other end of the pipe, where they got off, and continued onwards, with Sly using his cane to swing to the pipe's opening, while Carmelita jumped there after Sly was in.

Now they were in the room with the furnace doors that they had to jump, and bounce on to the bottom, only this one had lasers that changed positions around the pair of doors every few seconds.

Both thieves were in dismay about the lasers, but they took that as the sign that they were getting closer to the end of the room, where they could break the engine in the room, and steal one of the keys that was in the room. Which had them feeling happy as they kept going onwards through the path.

Where they ended up clobbering the guard under them as they then broke the siren to deactivate the lasers, as they both went onwards through the place.

Where soon, they were in the next room after getting out of the hall that was blocked by another grate. Where they saw that they could be in the engine room, considering the hot boiling lava that was below the catwalk that they were standing on. Not only that, but there was a cylinder shaft that was slowly rolling ahead of them, like it was connected to the other parts of the ship's engine.

Along with the other parts of the engine, some of which they could climb on, like with the crank that was slowly turning, as it seemed to be mixing some sort of tar in a churning sort of way, kinda like a butter churning barrel that farmers use. All while it was connected to a giant turning wheel that was also slowly turning, like it was connected to the cylinder that they were about to walk on.

And behind the giant wheel, they noticed that there seemed to be a fast turning wheel machinery that looked like it had a doorway that was leading to the next room, while it also looked like it was the main part of the engine room that could be powering the storm machine of Raleigh's.

Just the kind of machine that they plan to sabotage as they clobbered the mallet guard that tried to flatten Sly. "No one shall hurt my man!" Carmelita said angrily as she and Sly clobbered him. Showing how protective she is.

Which Sly didn't mind so much, even though he can take care of himself.

After that, they got onto the churner connected to the crank, as they climbed their way to on top of the platform over the wheel, before they then saw that there was some sort of machinery with a lever, that was connected to the hoop that Sly knew, he can hook onto with his cane. So without thinking, he hooked onto it, when it suddenly moved forward.

"WOOOAAAAAHHHHHH!" He screamed out as it moved forward, crashing through some pipes as it was headed to the machinery, before crashing into it, causing it to suddenly freeze in its rotation.

"SLYYYYY!" Carmelita called out in horror, hoping that Sly's alright.

Luckily for them both, he is. "I'm okay! At least that thing stopped in its tracks!" He called back, before swinging onto the metal platform. Then he noticed one thing. "The shaft seems to be connected to this machine, since it's also stuck in place! It should be safe for you to walk on!" He then called out.

Something that had Carmelita relieved to know, as she ran on the shaft to Sly's location to hug him in relief. "Don't scare me like that." She said.

"Wouldn't dream of it." He said, before they then stared at the doorway that was now safe for them to enter through, despite the spewing flames inside with the furnace doors open.

It seemed that they had all of the furnace doors taken care off, only to came across another hall of furnace doors that they had to slam shut, with Sly slamming the first furnace door shut with his cane.

There was another one in the way that was open, but Carmelita was soon on it as she had her own cane out to slam it on the other door.

Her cane was similar to his, only with one major difference to differentiate it and make it her own. Being that it was Ruby Red colored on the head of it, and on the bottom of it. Which was the color that helped it stick out from his own cane, and since Ruby Red was her favorite color.

It was forged by a friend of the gang's when Sly felt that Carmelita would need her own cane for melee self defense, once someone gets close enough to her.

She wasn't as good in using it as Sly was in using his own, but she knows that she can get better with it in its use as she trains alongside Sly himself, during their battle against the Fiendish Five.

For now though, she was just using it to close those furnace doors alongside Sly until they reached the other end of the small hallway, where they ended up in the room where they saw that in the room was a circle, where in the gap between the outer circle, and the center, was electrified fan blades.

And in the center of it, was their objective. The Treasure Key in the display case.

That they proceeded to break, as they celebrated their gaining of the second key. Now they had one more to take as they got out of the engine room.

Once they were outside again, they had to get past the flashlight guard in order to get to the next marker set in place by Bentley.

It wasn't hard though, since Carmelita shot him with her Shock Pistol. Now they got past where the guard used to be, as they got into the door, where after some minutes of walking through the hall, they found themselves inside what looked like an upper class hallway, complete with shelves full of vases, busts of Raleigh, and even dozens of curtains that looked to be made from some valuable fabrics that made them look pretty.

The vases looked just as pretty as well, even the art, even if it also consisted of paintings of Raleigh himself, was quite beautiful to look at for both thieves, making them smile at what they were seeing. It was to the point where they were tempted to steal all of the vases from the shelf that they were on, as well as the paintings that don't have Raleigh on them, and probably keep them for their own in their little HQ, while selling the others for plenty of cash. Which, could buy them a lovely Villa in Spain, or in America, once they get enough.

"I could probably buy an upper class theater ticket to a romantic film for both of us to watch, Sly." Carmelita said smiling huskily at him. Making him blush.

"Or we could even take a first class seat on a cruise ship for all of us, while we both get a room to ourselves." Sly responded, making her giggle with a blush at the possibility of a cruise with her favorite Raccoon.

But the selling had to wait for later, since they both knew that their top priority, is to find the Treasure Keys, and probably some clue bottles, just in case there are some that they might find along the way.

"Woah! Jackpot guys, look at all that stuff! They must all be worth at least millions!" Bentley said excitedly. But then he got serious. "And you know what that means… tighter security. You're both gonna have to be extra sneaky to get that key here."

Sneaky is what they do best, as Sly, and Carmelita ended up proceeding onwards while making sure to brace themselves of the upcoming lasers that they both could run into in the room.

So they went onwards, where they got past a door that admittedly looked like some sort of red creature with only the top teeth on the floor, that was lifting up when it opened, where they ended up coming across some lasers that moved in the hall.

Some was on the walls as they moved up and down in a fan pattern, while some was on the ceiling, as they moved left and right, and vice versa for the other ones. It looked to be a little tough, but they weren't too worried about that as they got past them with only little trouble due to the close calls.

They were able to get to the end of the hall after some close calls where they broke the siren to deactivate the lasers. Only to then see that up ahead was more lasers, some making a fence as they connected to the posts in the room, and there was even a pair of lasers that danced out of the eye sockets of a skull, as it moved around a bit. And they also threatened to zap sly with those lasers when he stepped in to its proximity a bit.

"Whew. Bentley wasn't kidding about the security. This looks like trouble." He said looking on at the lasers in the room.

"And that's what we'll face off against together." Carmelita said determined. "After all, we need that key, so we can take out that engañar, (Fool) and end his operation."

Sly smiled at her determination towards stopping Raleigh, considering their mission together against the Fiendish Five.

It reminded him of her determination of trying to catch him, before she joined his gang, which was while she was chasing him around, attempting to take him, and jail him. He felt relieved that she was on his side now, even though a half of him did miss the thrill of getting chased by someone who did come close to catching him a few times.

Could someone else fill those shoes, he doesn't know. But he didn't think about that as he merely continued onwards with Carmelita, as they were now running.

And they ran fast, when the laser eyes of the skull above the doorway was now aiming at them both. They were faster than the eyes that tried to aim the lasers at them, but they knew that there is little to no time to get reckless.

Especially since they could get touched by the eye lasers, and end up getting zapped by them after setting off the alarm siren that was at at the top of the round stairway that they were headed towards, which was under the skull that was shooting out those lasers. And it was surrounded by fences of lasers that forced them to take a long route of going up via a serpentine route.

And with the laser eyes chasing them down, it looked as if the area was going to be quite dangerous for both of them to take, as they could get zapped by the fence lasers

Or so it initially seemed to them when they decided to move around the stairs after separating.

All while Sly was to the left of the top of the stairs, where he then saw that he was in reach of the top of the stairway, with nothing stopping him from destroying the siren.

Which, Carmelita also noticed, as she then decided to shoot the siren with her shock pistol, destroying the siren, and deactivating the lasers in the room. Now they had plenty of breathing room as they explored the room, feeling that it could have some more clue bottles inside.

Which, it kinda didn't. Which was odd, but on the other hand, their load was lightened up since they have only the key to grab from Raleigh's room, which would help them get closer to the mad frog himself.

After reuniting with Carmelita, as they were now down the ramp on the other side of the gate, they saw that there was a pair of safes, and a pair of guards that were belly flopping on the ground. And they both felt that they could do the same thing to both of them if they get caught in their belly flop moves.

But thankfully, they were no trouble to sneakily take out, before the pair of thieves ended up shattering the safes on the walkway. Which brought to question, what the safes were of, whether they were made out of a fragile sort of steel, or if they were made out of rock to save on resources. Either way, the treasures inside, being some golden coins were all theirs now.

Now they were going to go onwards until they saw what was in front of them. And that had them feeling dismayed at what they were going to go through.

The room was filled with water. Deep water, that they couldn't swim in, while there was a trail of lily-pads that loitered the water, as the yellow lasers were moving around from the center in circles.

"Oh tonterías. (Crap.)" Carmelita said, dismayed at the sight.

As was Sly. "And the lasers are not helping either." He said.

But neither thief was going to quit here, no matter how nervous they were at what they were both getting themselves into as they both jumped on the Lily-pads, while also jumping over the lasers that threatened to set off the sirens should they touch them.

It was a minute of jumping, and hopping on the lily-pads, trying not to get hit by the lasers while they also made sure not to get too far away from each other, just in case one of them ends up falling into the water, and starts to sink regardless of their efforts.

"WAAHH!" *Splash*

Case in point, near the end of their hopping on the lily-pads, Carmelita slipped off of the lily-pad that she was on after jumping over the laser, and was trying to swim her way to another one close by. All while Sly was nearby, as he prepared himself to jump to the last one to break the siren, when he heard her splashing. Causing him to look behind him to see her splashing around, trying to stay afloat, and get to the lily-pad.

"GO! Get that alarm down… first!" She called to him, trying to swim her way to the lily-pad, and trying not to sink.

Which had Sly feeling conflicted, as he didn't want to lose her to the water. But the next laser was headed for them both. And if he doesn't get the siren down, then if he doesn't get zapped, then she will, trying to get to the lily-pad. Which she was making progress towards, but she was submerged a few times, like she was going to drown if nothing was done.

"HURRY SLY!" She said, noting the laser that was threatening to hit them both.

Sly knew he had to decide, so he decided to hope that she'll be able to reach the lily-pad, as he jumped to the last pad, before jumping to the platform to shatter the siren.

Now the lasers were done, but he knew that Carmelita wasn't out of the woods yet, as she was still struggling to get to the lily-pad, as she sputtered out the water, even though she was close.

But Sly couldn't wait, as he jumped his way to the pad as fast as he can, Only to see that she barely made it to the pad that he was headed towards. "Are you okay?!"

"I'll be fine! I just need a little resting. Just go on ahead, I'll catch up!" She said, catching her breath from her swimming attempt.

Sly took her word for it, feeling that she could be okay. So he went back to the platform, where he was now going onto a walkway that surrounded the center of the room, which had a bridge connected to the center.

Which was where the key was, if his eyes weren't deceiving him.

It wasn't a long wait, probably a moment, before Sly was followed again by Carmelita, as they were now both on their way through the walkway to the treasure key that they were after.

Though Sly was a little concerned for her, she assured him that she'll be fine. Although she was dripping wet as well. Which Sly also noticed despite him trying to keep his head straight.

"Keep it together. You can see her getting wet at the beaches more, once we're done with the Fiendish Five." He thought as they kept on going through the room.

They had what they felt, and hoped was the last hazard in their way though, being the searchlights. And they were both avoiding those like fire as they had to either run in between them when they move out of the center, or shimmy around the pillars since some of the lights took up most of the walkway that they were on.

It wasn't long though, until they got to the end of the walk way, and got to the siren to shatter it. Deactivating the lights, leaving them with nothing getting in their way as they took one final look around, making sure that there isn't going to be a nasty surprise, or a missing clue bottle that they had to get, before they then got to the treasure key, and took it. Much to their joy.

Now they were on their way out of the room, to continue to find more of the key's, and take down Raleigh's operation without trouble.

They were outside, as they felt that they had enough keys to go through the power tube, when they ended up seeing what looked like a barrel that was dug most of the way into the ground.

All while Carmelita noticed that there was another door that was on a balcony that was being guarded by a squid guard. Which was illuminated by another marker of Bentley's. Showing her that there was another section of Raleigh's HQ that they should go to later.

After looking at the barrel, Sly ended up having a call from Bentley.

"Hey guys, see that machine wheel? If my knowledge of mechanical engineering is correct, applying significant rotational torque to achieve maximum velocity, would yield a beneficial result." Bentley said.

"So in other words, something good will happen if we turn it fast enough?" Sly asked.

"Isn't it what I just said?" Bentley said with a hint of humor in his tone.

Carmelita couldn't help but chuckle at that response. Almost like she was nonverbally saying, "You had to ask." to him.

"Laugh it up foxy." Sly said deadpan. Before he decided to turn the wheel by running on it.

At least, that was his plan, until Carmelita stopped him. "Me permitirá, (Allow me.) Sly." She said, deciding to turn the wheel herself, causing the crow's nest to suddenly lower to their level.

That was his cue to jump onto it with Carmelita, as they both suddenly saw that there was a way to a small tower via some hoops to grab with their canes, where they had to shimmy around it. Which was where they both ended up finding a door that they learned too late, lead to a downward drop inside a chute.

And they ended up falling in together. "WOAAAAH!"

Fortunately for them, it wasn't a fall to death, but rather a fall to the next room that they had to go through.

"The temperature is off the charts in that room you're both in! It must be the main power source for the Storm Machine!" Bentley said.

"Really? If that's the case, then we can turn it off from here!" Carmelita said excitedly.

As was Sly, to was also ready to put a stop to the storm, before bringing his battle straight to Raleigh.

Which would give him the chance to get back his book's pages, as he, and Carmelita ran into the room together, taking down the mallet guard that got in their way while avoiding the furnaces that tried to burn them. Then going past the walkway that hung over some lava, and closing more of the furnace doors with their canes, they got past another walkway, and took down another guard when they ended up coming across a figurative roadblock.

The way forward was blocked by a large gap full of lava. And in that gap was a bunch of bars, and a strap cable that held up a bunch of hooks, all of which was too far away from each other for them to reach when they try to jump for them no matter how much their canes try to reach.

But they didn't give up from there, as they ended up seeing another barrel wheel that was also nearby, and was close to the aforementioned cables holding up the hoops.

"Look Ringtail. Another wheel. Maybe it could help us cross the lava." Carmelita said, happy to have came across the wheel.

Sly thought the same thing as he smiled too. "If it can help move those hoops, then we better get our canes ready."

"Roger that." She responded, standing near the wheel, as Sly ran on it to turn it.

Which caused the strap cable to suddenly move around, which in turn, moved the hoops around in circles as well, like a conveyer belt, just as both thieves hoped for as they were preparing themselves for hooking their canes onto those hoops.

"Ready?" Sly asked.

She nodded in confirmation, getting her own ruby red cane prepared for the upcoming hoop for her to jump to, before hooking her cane onto the hoop, with Sly close behind when he hooked onto another hoop. Now both thieves were hanging onto the hoops as they both got dragged to the other side of the lava pit, where they unhooked themselves, before Carmelita clobbered another guard that tried to smoosh them with his large mallet.

Now they were climbing around the furnace, making sure to avoid the fire that spews out of the grates, until they reach the top of it, where they were now seeing that they could use the upper floor walkways, as well as jump along the wheels that held the strap together. Which would lead them to another walk way, that lead to another little hall way that should lead them to another key, and to the core of the engine room.

It is too bad, when they got there after some jumping that looked risky since the wheels weren't big, they saw that there was some more fire spewing open furnace doors that was in their way. But they knew how to get past them as they slammed the doors shut, and was now jogging their way through the little hall.

Where after going through the walk way, some guards got in their way. And they were putting up a fight as a pair of starfish throwers threw their stars at them. While a pair of mallet guards tried to smoosh them too.

Sly was able to handle the mallet users, due to their slow swinging speed, while Carmelita still had her pistol at the ready to shoot the starfish throwers, and take them both down with her electric bullets.

Which was a benefit for Sly when there was more guards that came out of nowhere, and tried to belly flop on them both. But both thieves protected each other, with Sly taking down one of the belly floppers, while Carmelita shocked the other with another shot from her pistol.

Pretty soon, the way was clear, as the guards were taken down, and they briefly moved onwards, before they suddenly saw that there was another barrel wheel, only that had a moving spotlight that was shining on it, and moving off of it every few seconds.

And past it, behind a strong wall of glass, as well as a strong door, that was strong enough to probably withstand Carmelita's shock pistol bullets. And beyond the door, was a conveyer belt that lead to their objective of this room.

One of the treasure keys that they know they must grab, as well as some machinery that they could sabotage to disable his Storm Machine.

And on the conveyer belt, was what they saw, was a lava boulder that was there for some reason.

But it seemed that the boulder was going to be a useful tool that could help them both break down the door, to give them both a way to the conveyor belt, and to the treasure key that they needed to grab, to find their way to Raleigh.

"I'll be sure to turn the wheel to get that rock to break down that door. Can you shoot out the spotlight?" He asked.

Carmelita was wondering where the light was coming from as she looked above them both. But she couldn't find a source of the light from where they both were, and there was no other position in her eyes, so she shook her head. "It seems we're gonna be taking turns to turn that wheel when the spotlight is off of it." She responded.

Much to Sly's annoyance, since he, and Carmelita, was risking getting caught by the spotlight, and getting zapped by it when it shines on them again.

But there was no choice to be made as they were now running on the wheel one by one, making sure to get off of the wheel when the light almost shines on them. There was some close calls, but they were able to not get illuminated by the light.

It didn't take long, until the boulder ended up colliding with the door, breaking it into a dozen pieces. Giving them both an opening to the conveyor belt. Much to their relief.

Soon, they got to the key, and took it from its place, putting their count up to four keys. Not only that, but they were in prime position to sabotage the room of Raleigh's, seeing that it was a power source of his storm machine. Sure it could be fixed, but they were sure that they can beat Raleigh before he can put it to use again, when it's operational again.

Both thieves were back outside of the room, after going out the same way they came in. Which was a bit hard, what with the fact that they entered the room in the chute. But they were outside, and they were able to destroy the machinery inside the room they left, so it was worth it.

Especially since the rain was weakening. Showing signs of fading soon, now that the storm machine is out of commission, even if it's for a little while.

For the moment though, Sly was ready to go to the power tube when Carmelita stopped him.

"There's another door up there with the marker there. I bet we have one more key to grab in this section of his HQ, before going through that power tube." Carmelita said, pointing to the marker that was on the balcony.

Sly initially wanted to just go to the power tube, and break the generator, but something told him that he might need that fifth key from where Carmelita was pointing, later on.

So he decided to accept, and let Carmelita lead the way. "Okay Carms, let's go to that place, then we're taking down that generator." He said.

Carmelita was delighted, as they both were now headed to the door, where they were on the rooftops, before getting to the door after Carmelita shot down the squid guard before it could find them. And, according to Bentley's scouting, spit at them with his loogies, much to their disgust.

Now they were able to enter the door on the balcony.

And after some running through the hall, they got past the door where they ended up entering what they could guess, was the library room of Raleigh's HQ, since they saw a stack of books, and a single book shelf that was in the hall that they just entered.

And next thing they knew, they saw some rats that ended up scurrying away from them, having been startled by their entrance to the room. Which was a bad idea in their case when they suddenly got impaled by some darts that came out of the dart shooting guns that was disguised as globes on the other side of a blue rug. As well as poking out of the walls, before going back in once the rats were exterminated. Leaving both thieves cringing as they got their Bino-cu-coms out.

"Geez, those rats got pegged." Sly said, cringing at the rats.

"I know. It appears that Raleigh booby trapped the entire room that you're both inside." Bentley said.

"Really? How interesting." Carmelita said, feeling a bit excited, and prepared for a little challenge alongside Sly.

"Don't you get it guys?! If any of you step on that rug," Bentley said, aiming them at the blue rug. "then forget about being Master Thieves! You'll both be Master Dartboards!"

"Oh wow. Was that a joke?" Carmelita asked.

"No, its me pointing out the obvious danger. Albeit in a snarky way." Bentley said, admitting his snark.

"Then it's no wonder why neither of us laughed. Not that it wasn't funny." Sly said with a smile. Then he noticed something that he felt, could benefit them. "Hold on. What if I jump in that barrel for protection?" He then said, noticing a regular wooden barrel alongside Carmelita.

"I don't know, it looks like it's a little risky. And quite unsanitary." Bentley responded, feeling a little grossed out at the dust that could be collected inside the barrel. "Plus, what is she going to do once you're on the other side?"

"Well, I can break both of those dart guns in those globes. But then she could also destroy the guns herself with her shock pistol." Sly said. "That leaves only those wall dart guns."

"I'm sure that I can shoot those as well once they poke their barrels out. I just hope the barrel can take the darts." She said, readying her pistol

"Only one way to find out." Sly said, before he jumped in the barrel.

Soon, he was on his way over the rug, when the darts were now shot at him. Thankfully for them both, the darts were unable to pierce through the barrel. While Carmelita also saw the other dart turret guns, and destroyed them, giving her a way across without the barrel to wear.

But they felt that it could be just the beginning of their little journey through the entire room, so Sly kept the barrel around himself as he stepped into the elevator alongside her, after they took out a fire breathing guard, before they were going down to the lower floors.

Where there, they ended up seeing that there was a squid guard down there, patrolling the lower floor of the library. Which was past another booby trapped rug with the dart globes that was on the other side. Both of which, shot at Sly as he walked across the rug in the barrel, while Carmelita decided to jump high over the rug since it was thin enough for her to jump over, without setting off the dart guns into shooting her.

Now they were in the room with the squid.

"Okay guys, so far so good. I bet if you stand still inside that barrel, the guard won't notice you." Bentley said.

It was helpful advice, even though both of them knew that too beforehand, having seen some cartoons with that situation being done. But they thanked him for that as Sly took that advice, and got closer to the squid guard, making sure to be immobile when he's about to get illuminated by the flashlight. Before he knocked out the squid guard once he was close enough. Even though they could've crawled under the table to the other side and slipped past him.

But then how could they get the barrel past him, and continue with it should they see another booby trapped rug in their way?

Which was why they kept the barrel along as they got past the table and into the room where there was another squid guard, that was keeping his flashlight focused on the spot where they had to go, which was around the bookshelf, and between the two tables making the only open path to the other end. Which made it next to impossible to get past him without getting caught.

But they quickly found a ladder that could help them get on top of the book shelf. Which they took together, as they both were now on the shelf, before using it to ambush the guard. Now they were able to take the barrel further in the room.

It was where there they saw that in the next room, was fire spewing furnaces that they both had to avoid, or they'd probably roast the barrel, and have it turn to ashes. Causing them to be without the barrel for the rest of the room in the HQ, which would hurt considering the booby trapped rugs.

Like the one before the elevator that was going back up. Thankfully, Sly avoided the fire, before continuing to use the barrel to protect him. While since the rug was also thin enough, Carmelita proceeded to jump over it too.

Now they were in the upper floor, where they had to avoid not only the single dart shooting globe in the first section, but also the spotlights. Which shined down from the ceiling. And they felt that they might need to break the siren with her pistol, so they can move onwards without getting spotted. Despite the risk of alerting more of the guards that could hear it since they weren't too far away, and since the library was quiet. And they'd probably investigate the noise, and find them if that happened.

Even though Sly felt that not even the searchlights could find him if he merely stands still inside the barrel. Despite some doubts from Carmelita about that.

"I think those searchlights could catch you in that barrel. Do you think that the barrel can hide you from even those lights above us?" Carmelita asked concerned.

But there was only one way to find out, as they got onto the only thin path that was illuminated by the searchlight as it was moving up and down the path, giving them no room to walk around it on the only path of the walkway. So Sly decided to put his luck into making sure if he was right as he was now walking on the flat bridge to the other section of the top floor of the room, before stopping once the light is nearly on him.

Where shockingly to Carmelita, he wasn't found, and the alarm didn't go off.

Sly was pleasantly surprised at that, before he ended up continuing onwards, hurriedly going to the other end, avoiding another light, before popping out of the barrel, and breaking the siren to disable the searchlight, and give Carmelita a path to his end of the bridge.

Where after getting the book stacks, and clobbering another squid guard, they had to cross some large overhead lamps that illuminated the room. Which was a little hard since the lamps had some distance between each other. And the barrel was not light for Sly to carry above his head, despite being empty. But he was able to cross those lamps to the other side. Even though he could've slipped and fell back to the lower floor, but Carmelita was there to make sure that he doesn't fall down by pulling him back onto the lamps.

"Thank you Carms." He said.

"No hay problema. (No problem.)" Carmelita responded as they both went onwards.

Where after some more uses of the barrel to protect himself from the globe darts, and the spotlights, they were both now at the same place where the treasure key was. Which they proceeded to grab, putting them on their fifth one.

The Generator was now down, and the power tube was now deactivated, when both Thieves were now on the other side of the tube without a single shock on their fur. Where they ended up seeing that they were on a different section of the HQ of Raleigh's.

Then they got a call on their Bino-cu-coms from Bentley.

"Astonishing! All of my calculations have led me to believe that both of you would fail to knock out that generator!" Bentley said.

"Never really was good at math as you." Sly said with a chuckle.

"Well here's the real test for you. I've found a way to Raleigh's hideout. But it is a crazy plan that is bound to end poorly." He then said.

"Does it involve getting shot out of that cannon?" Carmelita asked, seeing a cannon on the edge of the deck of the HQ.

Bentley nodded. "I'm afraid that's the only way to get to him."

"Eh, fine by us." Sly said, with Carmelita in agreement.

"You're both really scaring me man." Bentley said, feeling deadpan at the response. "But either way, to get inside it, you both need to grab all seven of Raleigh's keys."

"What are we waiting for then? Show us more of your markers, and we're getting those keys for the cannon." Carmelita said.

"And then we'll take whatever it takes to get shot out of that cannon, and then we're taking back the pages of my family's Thievius Raccoonus." Sly said determined, ending the call there.

Both Thieves felt that Raleigh's time to lose was close. At this rate, they were soon going to bring their battle to him, take back the pages of Sly's book, and free the Isle of Wrath from his clutch.

And in doing so, they were taking one member down, leaving only four members left for them to face off with afterwards. And they both felt that they were going to be ready for them, once Raleigh's out of the picture.

And done.

Raleigh's time for losing, draws near. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.

And to let you guys know, I'm working on a new fic. That one being a Star Fox Adventures fic with a twist to it. And it's coming either at the end of this month, or early next month.

Also, expect this to be on AO3 too. If you readers go to that site as well.

Also, the dialogue about the darts back with the dart shooting globes was from one of the prototypes of Sly's game. (Look those up on Youtube once you readers have the time.) I just thought that the conversation was amusing, so I put it in.

Finally, one more thing.

I hope you enjoyed the Chapter,

do give constructive criticism, just don't be rude,

do not forget to read and review,

and once again, I do not own Sly Cooper, it is created, and owned by Sucker Punch, and Sony Entertainment. Please support the official releases.

Theodore The Poet signing off.
