*Flashback*

Back in the Orphanage, Carmelita, was walking through the hallway with Sly in tow, as she was leading him to her room in the Orphanage, that she lives in.

The reason being, was that she was going to show him something from her room, after learning about what happened to him, and why he was in the Orphanage to begin with. Being that he was orphaned due to a gang killing his parents.

Something that happened to her too. As a similar gang also killed her parents.

And she was going to her room with Sly in tow, so she can show him something from her room. Something, that she planned to tell him, that also relates to him, and his experience with the gang, little did she know at the time.

Right now though, they were now close to her room, as she entered it alongside Sly. Which had him curious, and interested in what she was planning to show him in her room, as she was now letting go.

"Now Sly, when I show you this, you must promise me that you won't tell anybody about what I have shown you. Trust me, there could be mean ones that could take this from my room. And they are the kinds that would do that to spite me, after all." She said.

Sly proceeded to promise her that, since he did meet those kinds of kids himself, after all. All of whom, failed since he still has his cane, and his book was still in his room.

Carmelita smiled at him in relief, before she then briefly searched her bed, before pulling out something to show Sly what it was.

Which was a book of her own, that Sly recognized, was pretty similar to the Thievius Raccoonus. Except in contrast to his book, that was red with four gold plated corners, and a gold clasp to hold it closed, her book was blue, with plenty of gold plated designs on it, like a Fleur de Lis that was in the center of the book, while the edges of the book were also covered in gold plating, and the spine of the book had a Chinese dragon on the upper half, while having a Japanese dragon on the bottom half. Likely showing that like himself, Carmelita also seems to descend from Asia as well.

The only thing that was not golden plated was the Coat of Arms of Castile, and León, just over the title of the book, (Which showed him her descendance from Spain.) which was silver plated, alongside the clasps of her book, and the title of the book in her hands that he was being shown.

That title said, "Guardius Vulpinus" on it.

And also like the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly noticed that it was only the Hard Cover that she held in her hands. There was no pages inside the book either.

Which was much to his shock, as he didn't think that he would meet someone that is oh so similar to him in terms of having lost his parents, and the book's pages, to a gang. Let alone a gang that had an Owl for a leader.

And he was certain, that she too could be out for revenge against them.

Then she proceeded to tell him of her family line. Which was dedicated to protecting the innocent, and important people, as well as bringing any loathsome crook to justice, and even saving the important people of the country from their foes, whether it'd be from another country, or from the corrupt interiors of their own country. Which was said to descend from the guards of the Emperor of Rome, as well as the kingsguard knights of the Spanish, French, and even English kings, to the retainers of the Shogun himself.

And she then told him that she is a fourth-generation future member of Law-Enforcement. And she would've been given an education to be such, had the gang not killed her parents.

"These la escoria ladrona (Thieving scum.) killed my parents, by that Owl's orders. They then took out the pages from my book, and left them, and me, for dead." Carmelita said with a scowl, mainly towards them. "He's the reason why I'm here. And you said that he's the reason you're here too?"

Sly nodded. "This is crazy, that you're here because of him, too. And that he killed our parents while taking away our books' pages."

"Si, estoy de acuerdo (Yeah, I agree.) But do you know what this means?" She then asked.

Sly quickly knew what she meant. "We are both going to take out that Owl, together?"

Carmelita nodded. "He's going to pay for what he's done to us. That is, if what you're implying about your 'quest' is true, and that you too, plan to take him, and his gang out, while taking the pages for your book, back."

Sly ended up nodding to her about that. While he felt like showing her his book as well. But he was certain, that she was going to become his foe someday, since her book, and her line, showed him that she's intending to enter Law Enforcement, while he was going to be a thief, like his family line before him. And that had him reluctant to show her his own book due to their opposing views.

"So, now that I showed you my book, will you show me yours?" She asked, curious about his own book.

"Later, maybe? Possibly during Christmas?" He said, not ready enough to show her his book.

Although Carmelita was annoyed that he was not showing his book yet, she knew that she'd make him uncomfortable if she continues to press him. So she dropped it for now. "Very well. But remember, you said someday. So you better promise me that you'll eventually show me that book, and why you desire to take back its pages again. Okay?"

Sly kept that in mind before she put away her book, then had him leaving back for his room. Sly did feel a little reluctant in telling her about his family line of thieving, but he hoped that her friendship with him will hold, if she were to learn about it by the time that he's sure that their friendship is strong enough.

For now though, he was headed back to his room, where he entered inside of it, with his friends in waiting.

He saw them sitting on their beds waiting for him. "Sly?! Thank goodness you're okay, we were a bit worried that you've gotten lost." Bentley said, as he, and Murray was awake. And already sitting on their beds.

Sly inwardly smiled at the sight of them awake, as he handed Bentley back his flashlight. Much to the latter's delight, "Trust me. I made sure not to wander too far from this place. There are things out there, that are worse than this place, as Mrs. Puffin told me. And for once, I agree with her on that one." He said, entering the room.

"So, how was it with Carmelita?" Murray asked, telling him that they saw her being sent for him by one of the teachers.

"Oh, let's just say, it was a pleasant experience." He said with a smile. He did enjoy being around her for some reason. He just couldn't put his finger on it. All he knew was that he liked to be with her. "Plus, let's just say that she showed me something that I would like to keep secret for now. And let's just say that it's a book of hers that she showed me." He then said before they could entertain the thought of asking him what it was.

Which Bentley quickly understood, while Murray was annoyed that Sly locked them out of the loop with what happened with Carmelita. But he didn't complain, since it could be a diary book for all he knows. And even though he was a brutish, strong, and imposing student, he had a heart of gold, if his protection of Bentley isn't any indication. And he would never try to take a peak into her diary. He is nervous of her wrath if she learns about it, after all.

And they all knew, how ferocious her wrath can be, if provoked.

*Flashback Over*

Back in Paris, France, the gang was in the same abandoned train car that they were in before their journey to the Isle of Wrath, as they went over the defeat of Raleigh, as well as how they are gonna get to the next member of the Fiendish Five.

Carmelita had her hand in a cast from her fight with Raleigh. But she didn't mind the injury done to her hand, since she saved Sly, and since they were able to defeat Raleigh the Frog without casualties. And it was just a sprain, meaning that her hand wasn't broken in several places to cripple it. So it was worth it.

Especially, since not only did they take back some of Sly's books from Raleigh, but some of her own book as well. That book, being the Guardius Vulpinus. And that was something to be happy about, as like Sly, she loved that book, and was going to inherit it, when the Fiendish Five killed her own parents too.

And now they were in the car, as they were going over the preparations for their next journey and heist, as they were going over the map that had Raleigh's HQ crossed out due to completion. Now they had another place to go to, via some scanning, and using Raleigh's inadvertent blabbing of the next location, to pinpoint where the next member of the Fiendish Five is.

Which had a circle that pinpointed the location of where the Next member is, in the Utah section of the United States.

"According to my research, there was talk on the street, that there is a city in Utah, known as Mesa City, that has been taken over by a large gang of dogs, all of whom, proceeded to drive out the locals, in order to create their own version of Las Vegas, especially with the casino's that has been built there. And it is said, that the next member of the Fiendish Five, Muggshot himself, leads the gang, in hopes to create his gambling empire." Bentley said, putting an x on the place where Muggshot should be, while Murray was dancing to some music in the background while Sly, and Carmelita was looking over the Map.

"Then it's time we go back to our home in the U.S, and stop him there." Sly said with Carmelita in agreement.

"I must warn you, that you might need a wall of the toughest bricks you can make, or a wrecking ball made of Obsidian rock, in order to stop him. He is as strong as a tank after all." Bentley said snarkily on the first part, hoping that Sly isn't going to get caught by Muggshot, if it'd mean that he, and Carmelita might get crushed as a result.

"But the files say that he isn't the brightest of the Fiendish Five. In fact, no offense, but I think that he makes Murray look as smart as you, in comparison. Which should make it easier for us to trick him." Carmelita said.

"Quite right. In fact, with your cunning, and my genius tactics, it shouldn't be hard in the slightest to take him down without involving getting physical with him." Bentley said with a smile. "Just remember, his brawn makes up for his lack of brain. So do not underestimate him, or he might have a surprise up his sleeve."

"You got it." Sly said. Before they all prepared for their trip to America, for Muggshot's defeat.

Meanwhile… in Mesa City

The said 'Muscle of the Fiendish Five', Muggshot himself was looking over the city from his penthouse, as he was on the phone with a bunch of his gang members. The city was currently almost empty with only his employees, and his guard dogs, (Literal ones at that.) as the only ones that was loitering it.

Which, was the biggest problem with his plan when it came to him building the casino lots in Mesa. Being that he had no customers, or visitors, going to the city, to gamble inside his casinos. And all because, in order to do so, he had to drive out the whole population from the city in order to take it over.

And that was biting him in the butt, as he needs them to help finance his gambling empire in Mesa. Otherwise he'll eventually be bankrupt, as a mayor of a ghost town, with only himself inside of Mesa, once his guards, and employees end up resigning. And that is if they don't mutiny against him for the lack of a paycheck.

"And I'm tellin ya, if anybody ends up decidin ta come here, give them a greeting, and have dem stay in our hotels, and recommend to dem that dey can win big in our casinos. That'll give us the greens." He said to his minion on the phone. "After all, dis operation isn't turning out so well due to da low count of customers that we're gettin. So let's give them reason to come. Got it? Okay. Bye." He said, hanging up the phone, before looking out at the city from his penthouse.

"Someday soon, ye're all comin back. And soon, I'm gettin the riches." He said, grinning to himself, imagining himself rolling in the money once he gets his customers in his casinos.

Suddenly, another phone call came in. And reading from the collar I.D, (No pun intended.) He saw unknown on it.

He decided to answer the phone. "Yellow, Muggshot's casino & Hotels. Ain't no other place betta. Ya visitin, or ya gamblin?" He asked impatiently.

"Neither. I want only you, Muggshot." A mechanical voice said on the other end. Which, he remembered despite his seemingly shabby memory. And that voice brought a little chill up his spine. But since it was a member of the gang that he works for, especially the leader, Muggshot wasn't intimidated.

"Oh, it's you, Clockwerk." He said indifferently. "If you're here for da pages, then take em. I ain't gettin much use outta them, since they're boring, and have too many woids on them with less pictures. And you know that I'm more of a comic book guy. I just hope that either Rubes, or P.K, won't mind tradin. Not to mention Raleigh." He said.

"Actually. He's the reason why I call for you. You see, I've been told that he's been defeated, and arrested back near Wales." The same voice, known as Clockwerk's, said.

That news surprised Muggshot as he looked at his telephone in shock. "What?! Someone clobbered dat little guy?! Dat's rough!" He said in dismay. "And I was going to ask him for a little translation for my pages, too! If he has the patience dat is."

"Well, you better hold that thought now. For I have a hunch, that the same fool, or pair of fools, are also thieves, and that they're on their way for you, next. So be on a lookout for them, and brace yourself for their attempt for revenge. Or they will make you suffer Raleigh's fate and send you there with him, while taking those pages of yours back too." Clockwerk said.

"Now don't worry. My city is guarded, and they won't be gettin in without my say so. Otherwise, once they're in my clutches, I'm gonna make them wish they didn't cross me, and clobber Raleigh too." Muggshot said, cracking his knuckles, determined to keep his city safe. And probably avenge Raleigh's defeat too.

"I hope that for your sake, you're correct on that assumption. Otherwise, it's your fault if they get the better of you, and end your criminal empire, before it could even begin." Clockwerk said.

"Ya can count on me, boss! Anythin else?!" Muggshot asked.

"I'm certain that one of those fools also is out for you, to get her own pages back too. And that she is that fool's teammate, as well as a thief. So ensure that she isn't gaining those pages either, for our gang's sake." He then said.

"Oh don't worry. What she's gettin instead, is a pair of cement slippers for her troubles. Along with that other fool dat dares to come for me." Muggshot said.

"If you say so." Clockwerk said sarcastically. Before he hung up, leaving Muggshot to his own devices as he was prepping himself for the thieves' arrival.

The Cooper Van was going back through the streets of the city of Paris, as the whole gang was now on their way to America, and to the Utah section of it.

"It's been a while since we were back in the U.S."

"Next up, is the notorious Muggshot. Ruthless muscle of the Fiendish Five. What he lacked in Brain, he definitely made up for in Brawn."

"Turns out though, his life wasn't always like this. Cause he grew up as the runt of the litter. A neighborhood weakling. Something that his past bullies took advantage of."

"The only friends he could turn to, was on the big screen. That's where he first spotted his first gangster. And he knew at that moment, that's also what he wants to be. So he spent the rest of his youth working, and training really hard to get there, fueled on his dreams of great power, and respect. And with enough persistence, he eventually realized that dream."

"He became a Hard-boiled, Street brawling, Tough-as-nails gangster. Ensuring that he'll never be picked on, or pushed around ever again."

"And I heard that he's holed up in Mesa City, huh? I always wanted to go to that thriving American boomtown. Especially with my girlfriend by my side."

The team was now in Utah, as they were now approaching the mountain path that lead to Mesa City. Where they were going to bring their fight to Muggshot, once they get to him.

Their journey for those pages are just ramping up.
