Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Blessed Flowers. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.

When Konan awoke? It was within a ramshackle hut which didn't look that out of place inside the run down town. It was then she noticed that her Akatsuki robes rested over a chair next to her. She hummed and then looked at the warrior who had had saved her from her death.

"You are the shinobi that saved me from death." Konan said as the shinobi nodded meekly and and looked at her with interest.

"And you are the one who liberated the city along with your friends." The shinobi said while he cracked his fingers and then sat down on another chair. "You know for a fact that you almost died? I found your body almost ripped apart where you had been finding. I barely managed to keep you alive before I got here." The shinobi stated while he hummed and started to gesture towards the bandages on Konan's chest.

It was then Konan started to analyze her savior the more she managed to look around the room. Her sight was not blurred by her injuries.

The shinobi was around her height, if only a few feet the size of her. He had bandages over one eye, possibly an injury or such, he also had jet black hair. His blue eyes which caused her to hum. He wore a patchwork shinobi robe which caused her to think that this shinobi was a warrior medic.

"Do you want to point out that you've almost had your throat slashed out?" The shinobi questioned, pointing out her while he hummed. "I can't believe your still walking under your own power, you were almost turned into a living corpse." The shinobi stated, shaking his head, more curious at the moment HOW this woman was still standing.

Konan slowly stood up, pain shot up her back while he hummed and slowly pushed her back.

"Stop, your spine was damaged badly when that guy grabbed your throat." The shinobi said and shook his head. "You should be lucky he thought you were dead. It's one of the few things that kept you alive. I doubt that I could keep you alive that easily." The shinobi stated while he cracked a small smile.

"And why did you want to keep me alive when you are probably aware what I did?" Konan questioned; her eyebrow raised in mock surprise.

"You're the village head, why wouldn't I?" The shinobi questioned, his calloused hands clenching and unclenching a moment later. "Besides, you and your friends helped heal our village more when it comes down to it. You had brought hope and peace to this village. Do you not expect someone to want to repay you for that?" The shinobi asked while he leaned backwards in his seat.

"And what is your name?" Konan questioned, leaning backwards as to not hurt her back at the moment.

"Hmm?" The shinobi questioned, raising his eyebrow with a look out the window. "Does it matter? My very little life does not really seem important to things like this." The shinobi stated, sighing at how little his abilities seem to matter.

He knew for a fact that things were slow to improve. The people still suffered; they could only improve still once more. Konan was more then a simple stepping stone for the people of the village, and if she died? Many people would go back to suffering and squabbling over the most basic of things.

"It makes me more curious." Konan said, gazing at her stomach which had a large gash over it. "You rescued me from death. Do you not expect me to question the identity of the person who I have to thank for achieving such a task?" Konan asked, slowly trying to sit up to a more comfortable position at the time.

"It is… Naoki." The shinobi said before he slowly stood up and paused to look at Konan again. "You should rest. I cannot continue to fix up new injuries if you keep sustaining or agitating them to begin with. Your wounds will heal with time, but there is nothing I can really do to speed that along currently. I apologize if the medical work I've done was subpar." Naoki said before slowly standing up and then walking across the cabin.

Konan watched him walk to the other side of the cabin, washing off his hands with a rag hung over one of the chairs. He offered Konan a reassuring look before he started to sit down on a broken chair.

"I'm going to get some sleep at the moment." Naoki stated, cracking his arms and rubbing at his temples. "I don't know if I'll be awake when you are, however. It took over an hour to try and fix your wounds without making them worse." Naoki put in before closing his eyes a moment later.

Konan could only blink.
