Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Blessed Flowers. Enjoy the 3200-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.
Aiko was not a Jinchuriki, he was not an ANBU agent. He knew for a fact that his only contribution to the world was his medical knowledge. It wasn't like that he was aware of the stronger Jutsu that Chunin and Jonin used constantly.
"How are you feeling?" Aiko questioned before he raised an eyebrow at her. "Those herbs won't help you if you don't let them," Aiko stated to which he got a nod from the former Akatsuki member.
Konan let out a sigh as she nodded to herself. She was quite hopeful that she could just push through this pain. However? That something was going to have to wait. She didn't want to think about how bad things would be without her.
Still? It came down to waiting until she healed. Konan was quite aware she had given it her all to try and stop it. Konan questioned if that boy from the Hidden Leaf Village could stop him.
Aiko clicked his tongue, looking around the room with a resigned look of resignation crossing his features. He could tell that Konan would be the most uncompliant patient when it came down to it.
"There's nothing you could have done," Aiko said before he shook his head. "Don't act like you didn't try. That kunai they stabbed you with went deep enough to almost sever your spinal column. You almost died twice before I managed to stabilize your condition… And you'd have died again if you go out again." Aiko added, leaning on the wall as he did so.
"You are far too protective of me for your good," Konan stated to which Aiko hummed. "I suppose that's part of what doctors are like?" Konan questioned as Aiko rolled his eyes and hummed to herself.
The trying smirk crossing his face told her all of the details she had to know. There was a small amount of emotion behind the gesture. He didn't know how something like this would end, he was lower on the totem pole than she. It wasn't like she could do anything to prove her point.
"It's part of being a doctor, yes," Aiko added before he drummed his fingers on the counter. "If it was so easy for me to just write people off? I'd be a mercenary. Your health, the health of all my patients when it came down to it? They're what matter when you think about it." Aiko put before he started to walk across the house.
Konan was quite amused by this matter rather than off-put by this type of logic when she considered it. There was almost nothing she could say in response to that for now. She watched as Aiko went and started to do something at the sink. It was vastly more boring than most things were… Then again? She supposed being a shinobi made that a common issue.
She looked around at the rest of the house. Konan went to flex her fingers, being greeted with a small amount of motion as she hummed. Aiko turned back to her a moment later, a glass of water held in his hand before he slowly walked back towards the couch. Konan watched as the doctor slowly walked across the room and placed the glass on the table.
He said nothing as he gazed at their village leader. He didn't know what she had been before now and part of him didn't care. She had pulled their home from the depths of a dark place which he hadn't the smallest chance of escaping before the war ended. If she hadn't stayed? Rain would have choked to death in its underworld and died a painful agony.
Then again? He was not her. He did not know what her goals were. He did not know the masked man who had attacked her and laid waste to their home. It hadn't been something he was familiar with at the end of all days.
"What happens if you did go after him?" Aiko asked with a frown to himself. "Do you plan on returning? Do you plan on letting all the groundwork you laid? All the people who were saved by the duty you performed for the rest of the city?" Aiko questioned while he frowned to himself.
Konan closed her eyes while she frowned to herself before she nodded. She saw the logic of what he was saying. Their entire town laid the groundwork for a turnaround that still needed her to finalize it. She was well aware of the fact that they needed to do something to remove crime from the city.
"There is plenty of logic in that type of planning," Konan stated while she frowned to herself. "But I cannot allow him to escape. The danger that the man who escaped poses to the world? It is a horrible thing to ignore." Konan said as Aiko sighed and sat in the chair next to her.
"That's also fair. Nobody should ignore the danger someone like that possesses." Aiko said while he crossed his arms. "But there are still problems with that logic. I don't want to point them out, I don't know how else to prove my point, though." Aiko stated while he frowned and started to speak.
"That person who had battled you?" Aiko asked while he started to wring his hands. "That kunai I had pulled from your back? It was almost slicing into the bone. If I hadn't pulled it out? You'd not be walking. That isn't some sort of false lie or some attempt to embellish the truth. That man also survived an entire exploding lake, no?" Aiko asked with a raised eyebrow before he started to clear his throat.
"That man has a power that will not be able to be contained and threatens the entire world," Konan added to which her friend sighed. "I plan to return when I come back. He needs to be stopped, and I plan to stop him when it comes down to it." Konan stated with a roll of her eyes.
"And what happens when he kills you?" Konan heard from Aiko who crossed his arms. "He WILL kill you. I know for a fact that he will. I had to take you to someone else to bring you out of the Genjutsu you were in. It isn't a matter of IF she will do it." Aiko added before he frowned.
"Then that is what I must…" Konan started to say before she frowned to herself. "No. There are more problems and I understand what needs to be done." Konan added while Aiko stayed silent.
"And what happens next, then?" Aiko asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'll help. Someone needs to complete the rest of the surgeries that will help you walk." Aiko stated while he cleared his throat.
"Help if you must. I need to speak with someone." Konan stated while she frowned. "There is one person who will be able to handle someone of his caliber," Konan stated while she frowned and seemed far too annoyed to try and do anything in return for the problems that were stated.
She was well aware of the flaws within her plan and it made her more annoyed than she had any real right to be. The man who had almost ended her life frustrated her more than anything. It bothered her that she had thrown all she had at him and it hadn't been anywhere close to enough. He had managed to simply walk away from it and menaced the rest of the world. He had to die before he harmed more people who hadn't anything as of now.
"What happens if we don't find a way to stop this man?" She heard as she raised an eyebrow. "I'm interested. The man you seem to consider this monster who needs to die instantly?" She also heard while she sighed to herself as she did so.
"If he isn't dead by now?" Konan questioned before she frowned and started to gaze around the room. "It will be something that surpasses any dangers. The man may be capable of war if he wanders too far with the others and his death is sure to bother the wrong people." Konan stated with a raised eyebrow as she stared at her friend who seemed far more frustrated by this answer yet said nothing.
He regretted it more than he wished to fathom and speak. It wasn't as if he wasn't at all concerned for the people who had been around him. He still cared despite not once considering they needed help as well. The more options that he had thrown to the wayside were more options at the moment.
"This needs to end sometime soon if at all possible before someone dies in a way they don't at all need as of now," Aiko stated while he frowned to himself. "If you DO chase him despite my attempts to stop it? Then it needs to be done without a single attempt at drawing it out for any reason. He will attempt a direct kill and if I'm 100% honest? There will be no real attempt." Aiko stated before he crossed his arms and started to ponder how to handle this.
The more he considered the idea, the longer he had to reflect on how stupid this had been. It had been rather odd and it haunted him at the end of the day. He wasn't one to do anything stupid as of now.
Still? She wasn't about to simply wait around and see what was to come next. This hadn't been the plan, nor was it to be easy at the time. She simply hadn't the time nor the effort to waste on these pleasantries. It did not help her along this path, nor did she wish to be helped along this path.
She stared at Aiko as he raised an eyebrow at her. He wasn't going to do anything to stop her, he was not going to stop her, but it was also clear to her that he hadn't been lying at the time. He hadn't lied about her condition, not one bit. If she wished to be honest? She'd tell it as it was. He did not wish to mince words with her. He had a lot of problems at the time it seemed.
"Then may I recover and depart somewhere within the town within 2 days?" Konan questioned to which Aiko raised an eyebrow at her. "With your supervision. I do not intend to engage that masked man. I still feel weak… And you are right to a degree if my best efforts did not kill him? I doubt any new efforts will find any real footing. This has to end and the sooner I end it? The sooner I will be able to relax." Konan stated to which he could only sigh and nod.
"If it is somewhere within the town. I need more supplies anyway." Aiko said before he sighed. "And it will be fine. I doubt that monster will be able to do something here again. He didn't seem keen on returning to this place nor did he wish to do anything more." Aiko said which made Konan raise an eyebrow.
She stared at him in a manner that she knew was bothering him. He didn't wish to do anything to her, yet he seemed to almost revere her. She questioned if Pain had done something for him. It wouldn't surprise her at all, yet she had helped a lot more people around this place. Not a hard thing to swallow given his type of impact on the planet nor his attempts to help others in his odd ways. This place had become a lot harder for her to stay in.
"I will attempt to rest; I assume you will be present when I awaken?" Konan questioned to which Aiko shrugged.
"This is my house, so yes," Aiko stated before he rubbed at his temples. "Just don't do something insane. I get wanting to do something good. It's why am the way I am now. Dying doesn't help anyone if you die for nothing." Aiko said to which Konan raised an eyebrow before Konan seemed to raise an eyebrow.
Konan cleared her throat as she laid down before he cleared his throat. He was honestly an odd man when it came down to it. She had been an odd woman at the second as well, it honestly hadn't been a good look for the second who had cleared something out of his eyes.
"What happens next at the moment? There will be more dangers to the city even if I stay here at the second." Konan added before she seemed to cross her arms and lay down.
Aiko was honestly prepared to do more work to cure her wounds at the second. He wished to cure her injuries at the moment while he seemed to ponder what to do next at the time, she had become a big deal to the village and it was not something he wished to deal with more than anything.
"After you rest at the moment?" Aiko questioned before he seemed to cross his arms as he sighed to himself.
"Yes," Konan said to which Aiko shrugged before he sighed to himself and shook his head. "I am not going anywhere, but I still do have duties to handle if I am to stay. There is only so much I can do while I'm still here." Konan stated before she sighed.
He rubbed at his temples as he seemed to question the moment. It had been a lot harder to stop from leaving at the time. He didn't want to keep her here at the time nor did he plan to. She was one of the best warriors he had seen and if she hadn't tried to throw it away? She may have become a leader on par with the Kages. She had been a lot more powerful to do at the second while he seemed to handle before he questioned as of the moment.
Still? If they had a lot more time on their side? He'd explain it at the second. He had been a lot more to do at the time and she was honestly pushing him to the edge of his seconds.
"How did you become some powerful at the time?" Konan questioned before he tilted his head and sighed. "That much power isn't something I'm used to. It honestly feels like you dancing more than fighting. I have a feeling if you wanted to fight him? You could have beaten him at the moment." Konan stated before he crossed his arms.
"It was a long story that I had a lot of time to retell. Still? I will tell you when I wake up." Konan responded to which Aiko stayed silent.
"Fair enough. There's not interesting if you had beaten at the moment." Aiko stated before he ran a hand across his temples. "There were a lot more people who can control that type of power. I'm still happy to protect and help people at the second." Aiko stated before leaning back in the seat.
He yawned to himself while he seemed to question what to do next. She'd heel slowly and it was fair to say she'd run off when this was all said and done. Only a fool would expect nothing from their patient who had tried to run after her enemy. He understood why she wanted him dead, yet he couldn't allow it. She'd die before anything memorable was done.
Still? He had more to do next. He had to be willing to try something. Anything less would be a problem for the time being. if he wasn't? Well, that would be something he had yet to deal with for the time being. This would be a lot more interesting.
Konan frowned but accepted his rhetoric. She slowly pulled herself to her feet before a pain up her back before now. She winced as she watched the soldier slowly move across the room towards her, interested only in what to do next. He had a lot more on his mind than simply the woman in front of him… Even if she was still trying to find ways to question as of the time being.
He hummed to himself before he questioned what to do next before all of this was all done before he questioned. He had a lot more to do next. This was going to be a lot more insane before he hoped this to be. He questioned entirely what the best plan was to do next. This plan was not thrown off for the time being. he had a lot more.
This was a lot more to question before the woman was dealt with properly. He had to be prepared for whatever she had done. This was either the most insane and most crazy and deluded plan he had seen or she was a mastermind who had been 20 thousand steps ahead of him with not even a single inch of anything. That this was all entirely crazy. That could or would slow her down at the end of the day, it had to be overstated that she was powerful. She was beyond him even at the most basic of levels. He knew that there was more to this before all was said and done.
Then again? He had little experience with her as a person, simply as leader of the clan. The village would need her as the leader before this came down to it. He had a lot more to do than when it came down to it. This would be getting out of hand before long.
"Easy." She heard as she turned to look at her friend. "Easy. There was a lot more on the spine that I hadn't been entirely able to fix before now." He added before he frowned to himself.
This was a lot more interesting than he had been a few days ago. Then again? He'd be a lot more focused on what was coming next. Anything else would be a lot funnier… And a lot more annoying to handle at the time being done. This was going to be a lot more at the time.
She was a soldier, she had to be ready for whatever was said and done at the time. He'd sigh to himself if nothing else.
Whatever this was? Well, he'd need to do more at the time being.
