Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of A Lingering Ember. Enjoy the 3200-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.
(Vale.)
Ollie pulled Trivia onto the roof next to him. She hadn't let go of his hand in the past 10 minutes… And she still hadn't done so. This had been something new. She supposed it'd be something interesting for the time being, but only if she moved quickly and with some purpose.
She didn't know the thing that seemed to be the same between them. He hadn't yet told her of said problem that made him unable to read her as different as possible. This had yet to come down to something… And he did honestly doubt it'd go anywhere as of the time being.
He could still feel here due to the light clothing he wore. He had been curious at the time about what this had been at the time being… But now he had some sort of idea for that when it came down to it. there was so much more to say and do at the moment. Still? He knew enough about certain gestures to fathom this. All too much was coming next.
Trivia reached out, flicking her finger, her right thumb to be precise, across his left cheek. He smiled and tapped his left index finger across her nose.
"You're a lot funnier than anyone I've met at the time," Ollie stated before he shook his head. "Are you sure you are, ok? I ain't exactly happy getting shot… But if it's protecting someone nice or cool? Well, I think the loss of a little aura is ok." Ollie stated before he cracked his fingers.
Trivia nodded before she hummed, leaning back on the tiled roof before she smiled at her friend. She had been a lot more playful than she had been when it came down to it.
"Ok… We need to get to the docks. Then we can get out of Vale." Ollie stated before he drummed his fingers on his arms. "Then you're going to need to tell me about what these guys want from you so badly you have an entire army of dirty cops trying to tear your limb from limb," Ollie added while he hummed towards himself.
Trivia nodded… Not that he could see her do it at the moment. It had to be the way it had been at the moment. It wasn't as if she had to lie. She didn't know Ollie, but she also didn't know her father much better.
Ollie had helped her at least once… She owed him at least one time when it came down to it.
"My father is… Part of Vale's government." Trivia's scroll stated as she typed on it.
He hummed before nodding, not accepting this fully, but not at all denying it either.
Wasn't as if he had the proof to deny or confirm this. He had a lot more to this when all was said and done as of the second. He had a lot more as of the time when it came down to this. He'd have more fun when all was said and done. It'd be so much funnier to him as of now.
If it was funnier at all. This had to be said and done. She had to be willing to be at least a little open when all of this was decided or else, they'd be going nowhere at the end of the day.
She looked at Ollie who seemed to question what to say or do next. He'd need to be a lot more flexible than it had been a lot more questioning. This was a lot more interesting when it came down to it.
He hummed to himself before brushing off his clothing. It'd be something else if not for the idea that all of this could be avoided when it was said and done. He looked over at her before questioning what to say or do next.
Then again? It'd be a lot more fun if he didn't know… But she knew why he had to know at the end of the day. This was easier said than done before now.
Trivia cleared her throat. only seeming to question what the hell to say or do next. This has a lot more to do with what to do next.
"Are you going to be ok, Triv?" Ollie questioned before he hummed and looked down at the city. "It's a lot more interesting when you look at it this way, doesn't it?" Ollie questioned before he raised an eyebrow under the wraps on his face.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious about Trivia. She was a cool person, one who seemed to be a lot more focused on escaping from that pampered life he had only heard about… It made him question if she had been interested when all of this was said and done.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Ollie questioned before she tapped a yes. "Good. Then follow me… I have my secret that this will be said and done at the docks." Ollie added before he cracked his fingers.
He hummed and slowly started to lead her towards the docks. He knew the path from the back of his mind. This had been fun for him at the time of the moment.
"This is going to be a lot more fun than it had been," Ollie stated before he brushed off his clothes. "We need to keep going," Ollie stated and sighed to himself.
Ollie watched as she gripped his hand. It felt… Nice, as if she trusted him. He wanted her to. He wanted her to be able to latch onto him. This had been something he wanted her to trust
"Can we talk or do you want to think? I'm a little bit of a chatterbox when people do talk to me." Ollie stated while he smiled to himself.
He was honestly hoping that this had been curious to him. This was something he hadn't yet thought would happen.
There would be more police. There always seemed to be more police. If he was right? The man who was chasing them probably had half the district after them.
Then again? He knew a path they didn't. he also knew that if Trivia was lying? Well, he could always tell the Police when they reached the nearest cruise ship. He trusted her, but it wasn't as if he had much of a reason to think she had been a saint. He knew better than to blindly trust something… And he doubted her when it came down to it even a little bit at the end of the day.
He sighed to himself before he slowly started to move her forwards. They had a lot of ground to cover and a few more plans to deal with before now. If anything had been able to go wrong, though? It'd all be on their heads before all was said and done. This was going to be a fun day. A lot more fun when all of this was to question as of the time down to it.
Trivia didn't know what the plan was. He pulled himself up and slowly towards the docks. Anything else would be a problem. This problem had to question the timeline. They had to be ready for it for the time being. He cracked his fingers before slowly steeling himself for whatever had been going on.
It also made him less terrified for the time being. He slowly questioned what was to come next… If this had been a problem? Well, he damn well would be dealing with that one way or another. All that seemed to stop him would be a few little plans here and there. He just had to be willing to fight through those plans to reach what he hadn't been doing before now. The plans in place were to be horrid if not for the fact he could deal with it… He had to deal with it. Even if it tore him to bits.
He sighed to himself, amused with what was coming toward him. If they wanted a battle so badly? He'd damn well give them one before this was all said and done… Anything else was a distraction.
The distraction had to come soon and it had to come now. He'd need something to keep his mind off the problems at bay.
Still? The plans had been forming in his mind. He had been a lot more of the time before he questioned what to do next as of the time. He had a lot more to fathom before long. Anything else was a problem. He had to be ready for whatever lay in his way. He'd need more tactics.
Trivia still laid her hand in his, letting his question what would come next if she hadn't seen that he had his mission before now. This was more to this than it seemed to be. Anything else would be a problem that could be handled at a lot later date.
He simply brushed off his suit and slowly started to move her towards the docks. This had been a lot more fun than he expected it to have been before now.
Trivia laced their fingers together, curious only as to what the hell he'd be up to if not for the idea that she trusted him. She wrapped her dainty hands around his and let him lead her into the dark recesses of the city. She knew her father would send more soldiers after her. He had a small army of people who were on his payroll. Anything that he didn't like? That was easily smashed into dust by the rest of the city. Anything he didn't wish to deal with.
Trivia looked at she seemed to question her friend. She had been as focused on trying to find a way to answer this. She watched as he tugged her down a path and into the shadows. For someone who seemed to be a mindless follower of them when this was all said and done. The problem with this is when all was said and done before long. He couldn't yet begin to fathom what to tell her, only that he had to be ready… He had to do better and he had to be ready for anything.
The idea terrified him more than anything. He'd come down to this plan. He glanced back at her only to realize he was still subject to his failing…
He couldn't see. He wanted to see her more than anything. He wanted more than anything else to trust her before this was done.
"It's funny. I didn't think today I'd run into anyone. Now? I'm dragging someone around the city at the moment… Not to be rude. I'm just honestly a little surprised I hadn't entirely gotten used to it at the moment." Ollie stated before he sighed to himself. "I don't mean to be rude, act as if you don't know anything, or don't trust you… I want to, I do… But it's not easy. I don't know where to go or what to do… But I do know that I trust you about as much as you trust me… Ok? I want to trust you, but if we get there and I find out the truth? I don't know what to do next… But I didn't think of what to say and do next." Ollie stated before he frowned to himself.
This had been a lot more on the plans before long. He had to be questioning what to say and do next. If not? Well? That would all be coming.
Still? if the problems were to be solved? They'd need to be solved in the best way possible before it all blew up in their faces. Anything less would be a nightmare for them both of the plans. There was a lot more to be questioned before long. He hadn't yet known how long he could be trusted to help her through. There was enough discourse between both of them to warrant such needless destruction among the rest of the world and it would simply cascade if not given the ample tender care that both needed for this to be handled properly. He knew better than to trust the plans set before him. She didn't know.
Trivia gripped his hand tighter. He did want to ask about why this girl whom he hadn't known even really known about for a long time and he blasted knew it would be only a short while before they reached there.
"I'm sorry I keep asking if you're ok. I'm not used to someone relying on me for anything. Least, not like this when I'm honest about it at the time being." Ollie stated before he clicked his fingers against one another.
Trivia nodded. She knew what it was like to be a burden and not have someone at all trust you… It seemed like all her father wished for it to be at the end of the day. anything else would be annoying.
She tapped at his face, poking at his worn and tattered skin. He turned to her as she hummed. ollie was about to speak again before she poked at his face once more. It had been something odd when she considered it.
Ollie shook his head though the smile remained. It had been something fun for the time being
Still? There was a lot more to this before he questioned before he was a lot more interested in what to do next. He had a lot more as of the second. He had a lot more to say and do next. He had been ready… And he would be ready for it before they were able to do so much as drop a hat.
Trivia looked at him. Ollie still hadn't taken the rags from around his eyes. She was curious as to why he had been this way. Had he been scared? Had something hurt him before? So many questions before now. She wanted them all answered before now.
She'd ask him before this came down to it. there was a lot more to say and do next. There was so much to do and so much fun to say and do before this had been a lot more to handle as of the time being. He questioned what to say and do next.
Still? there was a lot more to question as of the time before he questioned before he tilted before he seemed to come down to it. He had been a lot more interesting as of now.
Still? if there was anything she wished to say or do at the time…. Well? It'd be something interesting.
She looked at him while he glanced at her. The wraps over his eyes were interesting.
Ollie hummed before there was a crack of lightning that was shot towards her.
He turned in time to see a bullet fly through the air towards the duo as both turned towards them. There were more cops. Ollie knew that as he ushered
She questioned before now what had happened next. Why had he trusted her to this? She had to know why and the expense was tearing her into dozens of pieces. It had been something she wanted to know what to do next.
Ollie felt a bullet pass by his cheek as he turned around to question what to do next. This had been most unexpected as of the time being.
Ollie faced their direction before trying to move her away. this had been something beyond fun as of the time being. This had been something fun to Trivia. She didn't want this game to end anytime soon. There was nothing that stopped her from getting what she wanted if need be. Anything else would be a problem. She wanted nothing more than to question what to do next.
This had been something interesting. Yet she didn't know what his motives were for this or such.
Ollie pulled the handgun-like weapon from his side for the time being. it was something that made her curious about the time being and how she could fit into this at the time being. what her place in this game to come was. She was at least curious.
This had been fun. It had to continue that way either way if she wanted it to or not. They were ruining the game. She didn't want them to ruin the game.
She pointed her parasol at them. Ollie hummed for a moment while he seemed to question what to say or do as of the time being. she wanted to bend this. Bend the rolls all to her and her idea as of the time being.
This had been something when it came down to it. there was a lot more to say or do next. There were a lot more problems before as of the time being. it had been a lot more to say and do next before this came down to it. She couldn't let him die before she found all the clues to this puzzle… Nor would she let him die on her watch at the end of the day.
Ollie dodged another bullet which almost pierced his skull, twirling Trivia around him and away from the bullets before he turned and fired once which sent one of the cops falling to the ground.
He released Trivia and slowly advanced toward the cops before drawing another bullet from his weapon. He fired once more and another cop fell, a wound sent across their knee as they advanced on him.
Trivia hummed and rolled her eyes before lashing forward with speed she bet would have surprised him. She easily turned and sent him falling to the floor.
She knew he trusted her to the base part of her emotions when it came down to it. She knew enough to tell that he cared for her in ways that she wished someone would. Even the most basic of care showed someone at least wished to see her live.
Still? if she was to live? She had to fight. That path was clear as of the time being and she would damn well fight well.
She launched a kick that could have easily taken the head off one of the soldiers as she turned and flipped over Ollie who seemed more interested in what her plans were and how she executed them. It had been something interesting for now. This had to be terrible to him if she didn't realize what had happened and what to say or do before now.
Author Note
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that Neo will be mixing some of her skills from the comic and such. The next chapter will show both Ollie and Neo fighting the cops and will be in 2-10 months and will be in 900-6500 words. The next chapter should show more bonding and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
