Chapter 2 – ThoughtsThe next day, the phone rang at Hale residence.
"Hello?" Cornelia picked up.
"Hi, Cornelia. It's Elyon here. How are you?" the voice answered at the other line.
"Oh, hi Elyon. I'm fine. What's up?"
"Well, I was thinking that we could hang out today. We can call Will and the rest of the group."
"Yeah, actually we are meeting in the park in an hour. You can come if you want."
"Thanks, I…will."
"But don't you have that job at the bookstore?"
"Not today. Anyway, see you in an hour. Bye."
"Bye."
Elyon sat on the bed. A few years ago, Cornelia was her best friend. But things just started to change. Now she was spending a lot of time with Will, Irma, Taranee, Hay Lin and with that boy, Caleb. They didn't care much about her and they didn't like the bookstore where she was working ; they preferred the mall or other places. "Well, it doesn't matter after all. At least we're friends and I like talking to them sometimes."
She dressed in a green dress and headed for the park, because she hadn't anything else to do. She saw Hay Lin and Irma sitting on a bench and she waved, coming closer to them. They waved back.
"Hi, Elyon!"
"Hi, girls. Where are the others?"
"They haven't arrived yet."
But just then Taranee came, running. She stopped, a bit concerned.
"Hello, everyone. Am I late?"
"No, Taranee. Actually, you arrived early."
"Really? But what are you doing here, then?"
Elyon shrugged her shoulders.
"I have nothing else to do now." Irma said.
At the meeting hour, Cornelia came with Caleb. The others could tell from her face that she was very happy.
"What happened, Corny?" Irma asked.
But, although the girls expected her to snap, she didn't.
"Oh, Irma, please don't call me like that." Cornelia said softly. "Something great has happened."
"What's that?" the others asked, curious to find out. Caleb smiled.
"Me and Caleb! We're together!" she said, giving everyone a big smile. Caleb hugged her.
"That's great, you two!" Hay Lin said. "Congratulations!"
The rest nodded.
"Thanks!" Caleb answered. "Is everyone here?"
"No, not really. Will is missing."
"I think she is out with Matt." Taranee said.
"Here she is!" Hay Lin pointed to a familiar figure that was coming.
Will also had the happy face.
"Hey, guys, you know what? I'm with Matt!" she screamed.
"And I'm with Caleb!" Cornelia shouted.
The two girls hugged and giggled.
Elyon watched them in silence, wondering if she should tell about Rick. But, what was to tell? She didn't even know what she truly felt for the 22 years old man. (A/N: So, you now know: Cedric is 22, and Elyon 18.) And she had no idea about his feelings. Definitely, there was nothing to tell. And even if it was, or will be, she decided not to reveal anything to them. It was better this way. She sighed.
"Elyon, is something wrong?" Will asked her.
"No, Will. Everything is fine. Let's go to an ice-cream, what do you guys say?"
"Good thinking, Elyon. I'd love an ice-cream right now!" Irma said.
The group agreed.
"But, tell me Irma, when do you refuse an ice-cream?" Cornelia asked, holding Caleb's hand in hers.
Everyone laughed.
"Good question, Corny. I really don't know."
"Stop calling me Corny!"
"Fine, cool down. I'll…try not to say that anymore."
"Thank you. I would appreciate that!"
The group laughed again and left the park. After the ice-cream, Elyon went home, thinking at Rick and at her feelings.
When they were alone, Will said:
"Let's go in a little visit!"
"Where?" Taranee asked.
"In Meridian, of course. We haven't been there for some time now."
In Meridian, Cedric was in the throne room, at the castle.
"And how are things going, Cedric?" Phobos asked, gazing the blond lord.
"Well, my prince, still no sign from your sister. I'm really sorry…"
"I need to find her! I need her power, you know that! All Meridian has to be mine. All of it!"
"Yes, Phobos. I know." The lord bowed deeply. "But how can I find her?"
"Cedric, she has powers. She knows nothing about them now, but she has them!"
"I know, my prince, but there are many girls out there, and if she doesn't know about her powers, she won't use them."
"You have to go back there, Cedric, and do your best."
"I will, Phobos."
Suddenly, Frost entered the throne room. He bowed quickly.
"My lord, the guardians are here and they are attacking!"
Phobos looked annoyed.
"Why do they come and disturb me?" Let's go, Cedric. You too, Frost."
Cedric transformed in his snake form and followed his master outside.
