Chapter 4 - The princess
"I wonder sometimes if all this problems will end…" Cornelia said, walking on the grass, in the park.
"I hope so. But, because of these problems we met…remember?" Caleb smiled, holding Cornelia's hand, as they were walking.
"Of course I do…" she answered.
They sat on a bench. Cornelia raised her arm over the ground in front of her and a pretty flower grew right there. Picking it up, she gave it to Caleb. "For you". Caleb smiled and kissed her on the cheek. "Thank you".
The park was their favorite place to go. The Earth guardian loved the trees, the flowers, the grass and all those plants! And Caleb loved to see her happy. And now, that it was summer, they could see each other more often.
Cornelia puther head on his shoulder.
"I'm so glad that I'm with you! You make me so happy! I love you!" she whispered, looking far away.
Caleb put his hand gentle on her blond, long hair. "I love you too, beautiful!"
After a few minutes, Cornelia raised her head and looked happily at Caleb, with her blue eyes:
"What?" he asked, a bit surprised and confused.
"Let's go ice-skating!"
"But, I'm not so sure if I can handle it…"
"Come, I'll help you!"
"I'm not sure, Cornelia…"
"Please, Caleb! It will be fun!"
He accepted and Cornelia hugged him. Then, she took his hand and headed in the direction of the ice-skating ring.
Will was in her bed, trying to sleep. But she couldn't, all kind of thoughts were in her mind. About school, about Matt, about her life, about Matt and how things ended up… She had realized there's no way that she and him could be together again…
She couldn't stand it any more. She had to get over this. It wasn't a big deal, actually. Matt didn't lie and told her very clear how things were. She appreciated that. After all, she and Matt were still friends… And now, she was free to find her real love! And although she was a bit sad…
Will smiled. A great idea came into her mind. A small fight would make her forget about her sadness, and she would be happy again! Even seeing Matt will not disturb her too much after a battle. She liked to be a guardian!
Will left the bed and phoned Hay Lin.
"Hello! Hay Lin speaking!"
"Hi! It's Will."
"Will! Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Are you busy now?"
"Cornelia and Caleb are out, they said something about ice-skating, I think. And I'm stuck here with all this work at the restaurant! Why?"
"Oh, just wondering. Well, then, maybe see you later!"
"Sure! Bye!"
"Bye, Hay Lin!"
Will dialed Irma's, then Taranee's number too. But, like the others, they were busy. Will didn't tell them about her intention to go to Meridian, because it was just her idea to make her forget about the sadness, and so it wasn't something important.
She transformed into her guardian form, left her astral drop, opened a portal and entered Meridian…
The keeper went inside the castle, flying through a big window. She started walking, hoping to meet some guards, or maybe the snake boy. After some stairs, she knocked down three guards, and then continued on her way.
She found a big room, which had two doors on the other side. She headed to one of them…
"What are you doing here? You came in a little visit?"
Will turned around. She didn't expect to see him! He was right there, smiling. But, it was obvious: if she entered his castle, he had to be there.
"Well, I came because…I wanted to fight a little."
Phobos shot some energy at her.
"Really? Why?"
She moved, avoiding it, then answered with a pink beam.
"Because…I just wanted to."
"Or maybe because of Matt?" Phobos grinned. Cedric had told him about what he had heard in the girls' talk. Of course, not mentioning anything about Elyon, it was not important.
Will was so surprised that the next blast hit her and sent her to the wall.
"How do you know?" she asked him, getting up from the ground.
"I have my sources. But, please tell me, is this fight helping? Are you forgetting Matt?"
"If you really want to know, I have already forgot him."
Phobos felt a little joy hearing that.
"Good. And, if you are here, then please stay for dinner."
"You're mocking me."
"No, actually, I mean it."
"Well, I'm not staying to have dinner with my enemy!"
"Well, I think you will."
The prince hit her with more energy and she fell unconscious to the ground.
Cedric was walking with Elyonin the direction ofher home. They had been all the day together: at an ice cream, in the park… It had been a great day! He loved her and he felt that she loved him too. The lord was so happy!
On an empty street she stopped walking, smiling at him. He walked in front of her, smiling back.
Elyon put her arms around his neck and brought her lips to his. They remained like this for a few seconds, and then continued walking hand in hand.
Suddenly, a cat appeared, running. After her, came a furious dog, barking and chasing the cat.
"Poor cat." Elyon said.
The cat stopped in a corner, with no way to escape. The dog was getting closer.
"No, dog, no!" the girl shouted, raising her arm towards the furious animal.
Then, a blast of energy pushed the dog far away. The cat ran in another direction.
Elyon was totally amazed.
"What happened? What was that? Rick, did I do that…thing?"
She turned to him. But Cedric was in shock.
"Oh no…" he whispered.
