Chapter 5 - Feelings and emotions

How could he have not seen it before? Her eyes, her hair, and other things that were obvious! So obvious! How could he let it happen? How? Before this, the only thing that he wanted was to find Phobos' sister and his prince to take all the power. But now, he loved the princess! This was so wrong…

Cedric turned to her. She was looking at him, confused, hoping that he will tell her that everything was fine. But it wasn't.

"Elyon, do that again, please!" He needed to know for sure if she was the princess.

"What? Rick, I don't know how, I don't…"

"Just look at something and concentrate."

"A-Are you sure?"

He nodded. She looked at an empty box in the corner of the street. Slowly, she raised her arms towards it and concentrated, just like when the dog was there. Another blast of energy appeared.

"Rick…"

He shook his head slowly. So many feelings and emotions…

"Rick…" her voice was almost a whisper.

He couldn't stand there anymore. He needed a quiet place to think.

"Elyon, go home, please. I have to return to the bookstore."

"Why can I do this? What is it? Is something wrong?"

He didn't answer.

"Rick, you're scaring me!"

The lord took her head between his hands.

"Don't be scared, my dear. It's…it's fine. I'm here for you, nothing bad will happen to you, alright? Trust me and go home."

She hugged him.

"I trust you, Rick, and I love you. I'll go home now and I'll wait there, ok?

"Great, Elyon. Bye!"

"Bye..."

Cedric returned to his bookstore. What will he do now? He loved Elyon, but he had a mission from his master, prince Phobos. And that was important too.

Finally, the lord decided to tell nothing for now. Maybe he will find a solution soon…

In Meridian, Phobos ordered some guards to take Will to one of the castle's rooms.

"Not in the prison, my lord?" one of the guards asked.

"Of course not! Don't you dare take her there! Now go!"

The guards obeyed. Left alone, the prince asked himself if it had been a good idea to hit her and to make her have dinner with him, although she didn't want that. Anyway, there was nothing he could do now. But why? Why did he love her? He was supposed to think only about his sister…about his plans… But she was beautiful, intelligent and sweet. And she had power, just like him. Of course, the other guardians caused problems too, but she was the leader. She had the heart of Candracar. The heart! He had forgotten about the heart, thinking only at her! That meant he really loved her. Well, that was weird. It never happened before.

In one of the rooms, Will opened her eyes. Where was she? "Oh yeah, I'm in his castle." She remembered, a little annoyed. "What does he want? Why this dinner? He can't love me, right? Or can he?" she thought.

The dinner, the beautiful room she was in… and the heart of Candracar! It was still hers! That really amazed her. Maybe Phobos did love her… But what did she felt? Hmm… Will never thought about that… but now, she realized that she really felt something for Phobos…although not so sure if it was love. She certainly liked him, not hate him ; that was true. Maybe soon she will love him. Could he be her real love? But, what will the other guardians say? And Caleb? And all the people that believed in her? This was wrong, she couldn't disappoint them.

The keeper couldn't stay there anymore, and decided to go back home.

In the throne room, Phobos was waiting for Will to wake up. But some guards came, bowed in front of him and told him that she ran away. When they had entered her room, there was no one there.

"Fine…" Phobos said, sighing.

In a way, he didn't want her to leave, but in another way he admired her will, not giving up.

She truly was the right person for him.

Back on Earth, Elyon opened the door to her house. Her parents were watching TV in the living room.

"Hi, honey! How was your day with… Rick, right? That's his name?"

"Yes, mom. It was great. Just great. I'll go now to my room, ok? I'm tired and I need to rest."

Elyon walked upstairs.

"I'm so glad that she found a nice man, don't you think?" her mother said.

"Yes, and I'm glad that she is far away and safe from all the problems and dangers from Meridian. Do you think prince Phobos is still looking for her?" her father asked.

"I don't know… I hope not!"

In her room, Elyon burst into tears. What was wrong with her? What was that blast of energy and how could she create it? Why?

"Maybe Rick is scared of me… Maybe he thinks that I'm weird!" More tears came. "He looked so surprised… I guess you don't see this everyday… But he said that everything would be fine… He will not leave me…He loves me!" She remembered when he told her to do that blast of energyagain. "Maybe he knows more about this than me. Maybe he knows some things that I don't… As soon as I see him, I'll ask him! He's the only one who I can talk to about this and who I love and trust. I will wait, Rick… I'll wait for an answer…"
