Love is in the air

Chapter 7 - The recovery

Phobos called the healer.

"I will do everything I can, my lord. Don't worry." the healer said, and took Will with her.

Then, Cedric came.

"My prince?"

"The leader of the guardians is here."

"Where? Would you like me to fight with her?"

"No, Cedric. She is unconscious. Some guards attacked her. I called the healer and she is with her right now."

"But why? Did you get the Heart?"

"No. Cedric, I love her."

"W-What?" the lord couldn't believe it. Phobos was in love!

"Yes, I know. I just fell in love with her and there is nothing I can do."

"Just like me and Elyon." Cedric thought. "That's great, Phobos. But what is she doing here?"

"I don't know. She was brought to me, but I can't figure it out why she came here."

The healer entered the room.

"How is she?" Cedric asked.

"She is going to be fine. But now she needs a lot of rest. She must not worry and stay in bed for a couple of days. Don't let anything upset her."

The healer bowed and left.

"I will send some guards to make sure she's fine." Cedric said.

"No. See, that's why I brought you here. I will go and take care of Will. I'll watch her and be sure that nothing will happen to her. And you will stay here to solve the problems, because I won't leave her alone until she's fine.

"Your word is law, my prince. I will do my best." the blond lord said.

"I hope you will, Cedric."

Phobos left the throne room.

"Hmm… Now that he loves too, I have more chances to solve the problem with Elyon… I have to find a way to tell him about his sister, but at the same time to protect her…"

Phobos opened carefully the door. It was a large room, with a round table and a few chairs, two big armchairs, one close to the door, and one near the bed. It was a big, comfortable bed, with sheets of silk. The room also had a balcony. There was no better room to rest in.

Phobos sat in the armchair near the bed, where Will was. She was pale, but was breathing. He sighed, knowing that the heart of Candracar was so close to him, but yet so far in his mind… Phobos realized that now all the power could not make him happy if she was suffering. He knew that it was wrong, that power should be his priority, but it felt so right when things were just like that. It was weird, he never cared so much about anyone.

He stood there for hours, forgetting about food or anything else. He was waiting for a sign from Will. She had just slept without moving.

Suddenly, the keeper moved slowly her hand. Phobos came to her and took her hand in his. She turned her head and sighed, without opening her eyes.

"Don't worry, beautiful… You're not alone. I'm here with you, I'll never leave you…" he whispered.

She squeezed weakly his hand.

"Water…" she managed to say.

"Right away, love."

He brought a glass of water to her lips and helped her drink a little.

"Thank…you…" she murmured. Then, she fell again into a deep sleep.

Slowly, Phobos let go of her hand and gentle touched her cheek with his fingers.

Then, he returned to his armchair. He felt a bit guilty because Will came to him and his men just attacked her.

The next day, Will opened her eyes. She felt pain in her body when she tried to move. She remembered a weird dream, in which Phobos was taking care of her.

"Good morning, sleepyhead."

Phobos was right there, smiling at her. He looked like he hadn't slept all night.

"You watched over me all this time, right?"

He nodded. "I'm very sorry about what my guards did."

"That's ok. Thank you." she gave him a weak smile.

"So, can you get up from the bed?" the prince asked softly.

She tried, but felt more pain.

"No. It hurts."

"I'll stay with you until you feel better."

"But Meridian…"

"You are the most important," he answered.

"Thank you."

"So, why did you come back here?"

"I owe you a dinner with you."

They both smiled.

"You realized that you were hungry?"

"No, I realized that I loved you."

Phobos looked surprised at her. She nodded.

"She loves me!" he thought happily, then came to her and kissed her gently.

The next day, she could walk, feeling only a little pain. She spent time in the balcony, getting some fresh air. Phobos had been there for her all the time.

After one more day she had completely recovered. Will, although she loved to stay there now, decided to go home and to find a reason so she could explain her absence to her mother. She hadn't left her astral drop because she thought that she wouldn't have to stay so much in Meridian.

When Phobos came in the throne room with Will, holding her hand, Cedric found the way to tell Phobos about Elyon.

"Cedric, Will has recovered and she is going back to Earth." Phobos said.

"Great. I'll go with her, my prince?"

"Of course, Cedric. No more secrets for her, understood?"

"Yes, Phobos."

"What secrets? Is there something I don't know?" she asked. "Cedric, you are coming to Earth?"

"Yes, Will. We will talk on the way." he bowed.
