Love is in the air

Chapter 8 - Returning home

"I can't believe that we're actually here, talking, and not fighting." Will said as they walked through the city of Meridian. Everyone was getting out of their way, looking a bit confused: lord Cedric and the leader of the guardians, walking side by side!

"I know; but now my prince loves you and I have to respect you," he said.

"Really?"

"Don't worry, I also respected you a little when we were fighting, but you were our enemy and there was no time to chat."

"How refreshing to know that, thank you!" she smiled.

They laughed. The people looked at them even more confused.

"So, can I be sure that I can trust you? You won't turn our secrets against us, right?"

"Cedric, I love him. I can't betray him."

"Good. I have a home on Earth."

"What? A home!"

"Yes, and a bookstore."

"Since when?"

"For a few years now."

"Years? And how come we never found out?"

"I don't walk on the street in my snake form, you know."

"I guess you're right. Go on."

"Phobos sent me there to find something. Or I should say someone."

"Who?"

"Well, you see, Phobos has a sister and…"

"A sister?"

"Yes. And she is on Earth and I have to find her."

They left the city and Will opened a portal.

"Let's go and we will talk in your bookstore!"

"Wait. We can't go there; Elyon may come and see us."

"So Elyon works at your bookstore!"

"Yes…and…there is something else…"

"What? Cedric, I have to go home, I…"

"Elyon is Phobos' sister! She is the princess of Meridian!"

Will gasped and collapsed on a big rock near by. This was very stunning news.

"She has bigger powers than Phobos. He is searching for her so he can drain her powers and then all Meridian would be his."

"Does he know that Elyon is his sister?" she whispered.

"No, Will. I couldn't tell him, because… I love her. And she loves me!"

Cedric sat on the rock next to her.

"Does she know?"

"No, she doesn't even understand her powers. But I have to tell her soon."

Will knew too how hard it was to be between love and loyalty.

"I need your help. I think I can handle telling Elyon who she really is, but Phobos… Maybe if you tell him, he won't drain her powers. I mean, he loves you so much that he didn't take the heart of Candracar…"

"Yes, I think you're right. It's the best way. But don't forget that I love him and I will not betray him."

"I wouldn't either."

"Good. I'll go home now and later we will talk about what we have to do. I guess you should tell Elyon the truth soon. Maybe I will come too, in case she doesn't believe you at first."

"Thank you so much, Will." Cedric bowed.

She giggled. "You don't have to do that."

They both went through the portal and then Will rushed home.

The keeper found her mother watching TV, sitting on the sofa in the living room. When she saw Will, she turned off the TV and stared at her.

"I can explain, really!" Will defended herself.

"So please explain."

"You see, I was…"

"It was so hard to give me a phone call?" Susan snapped.

"Huh? What phone call?"

"You said you were coming back in two hours, but you didn't! I waited all night for you!"

"Sorry…"

"I was desperate next day so I called at your friend Hay Lin. She told me that you had come in the evening and you stayed there. And she told me that you were going to stay a little while, so I didn't have to worry if you didn't come that day home. But when I wanted to speak to you, you were busy! So please explain!"

"Well, I really was busy and I forgot to call!" she said. "I was busy being attacked by the guards!" the keeper thought.

"Oh fine, at least I knew where you were."

"Thanks, mom. I love you!"

"Love you too, honey! But please call next time!"

Will went to her room and grabbed the phone, very concerned.

"Hello! Hay Lin, this is Will."

"We have to talk right away, Will. I'll call the girls and we will meet at the Silver Dragon in a few minutes, ok?"

"Yeah, sure! Bye!"

This was bad. She didn't want to tell them where she had been, well at least not yet. It wasn't simple to explain that Phobos wasn't her enemy anymore. Sighing, Will headed to the Silver Dragon restaurant.

Hope you liked it! Bye!
