Chapter 10 - Meridian
"It can't be happening! Lord Cedric, what do you think you're doing here?" her father looked at him with a terrified expression.
"Oh, we meet again. What do you think I'm doing? I'm telling the truth to the one I love."
"Stop with this lie! You don't love her, she is just part of a plan you and your master Phobos have!"
Her mother looked at her.
"Darling, please don't believe him! Your brother Phobos doesn't love you; he just wants to drain your powers!"
"So it's really true… Don't worry; Rick…Cedric told me everything. We love each other very much and he will protect me. I'm sure of that. And he is the one who told me the truth, not you! When were you going to tell me? Never, perhaps?"
"He is Rick? So you have been in contact with him for years!"
The blond lord took Elyon's hand and made way out of her house. Her parents followed them outside, afraid of what will happen.
"Elyon! He is a monster, Elyon! He can transform in a snake form, please don't trust him!"
The girl suddenly stopped, letting go of his hand. She looked at him suspiciously and asked him if it was true.
He looked at her with sad eyes, and then he transformed. As he grew bigger and bigger, Elyon covered her mouth with her hand and shook her head slowly. Then he returned to his human form.
She stared at him, at those two who were supposed to be her parents and then ran away from them, crying.
"Elyon!" her mother yelled behind her.
"Look at what you have done!" Cedric shouted too at the two parents. "I've told her about Phobos, about the guardians! I love her, can't you see that?"
"You love your job in Phobos' service! How can you protect her from him?"
"I talked with the leader of the guardians!"
"With Will?"
"Yes, because she and Phobos are in love now! She is trying to convince him to not drain his sister's powers!"
"Unbelievable! And is it true?"
"You can go and see. I just love Elyon, even if you don't believe it!"
The lord left them and ran after Elyon.
"He may love her… Let's give him a chance!" her father said.
Cedric searched for her in many places, then he remembered the park.
He found her there. She was sitting on the grass, looking at the ground. He came and sat next to her, putting his hand on hers. She didn't react, but she didn't move her hand either.
"I am very sorry. Before I met you, all I wanted was to find the princess, so that my prince could drain her powers. Love was not in my plans. But I began to love you and I still do, although you are Phobos' sister. I'm sorry I disappointed you."
He got up and turned to leave.
"You didn't disappoint me, Cedric!" she said.
The blond man stopped.
"I love you too and I know how hard it was to tell me all those things. I know you care about me and that you will protect me. Don't leave like that, because I want to come with you. Take me to Meridian. Take me to my brother."
She rose from the ground, came to him, kissed him softly and said: "Just lead the way, Cedric!"
He smiled. "You seem so much like your brother!"
When they arrived in Meridian, the portal had already amazed her. But what she saw there made her forget about the round and blue thing that connected the two worlds.
"And I'm princess over all this?"
"Of course, milady." Cedric bowed in front of her.
She laughed. "Don't do that! It makes me nervous."
"I am your servant."
"No, you are the one I love. So stop it!"
"As you wish, princess!" he smiled.
Elyon looked around and saw the castle. She gasped.
"Is that… That is… my brother's castle?"
"Yes, Elyon."
"And we will go inside? Really? And he is there?"
"Certainly. Now let's go."
They walked, Elyon admiring every place.
When they entered the castle, they met with Frost.
"Hello, lord Cedric! How are things going? Who is she?"
"Frost, let me present you princess Elyon. Elyon, this is Frost."
"Princess!" he gasped, hurrying to bow deeply. "What a great surprise! I'm sure prince Phobos will be so glad you came! He has been waiting for you for a long time, he wants to meet you, he…"
"He wants to drain my powers, too. But maybe things change. Nice to meet you, Frost!"
"Huh?" Frost looked confused at lord Cedric. "How does she know?"
"Yes, things may change," answered Cedric and continued to walk with Elyon, leaving a very puzzled Frost behind.
When they got to the doors of the throne room, the blond man asked again.
"Are you sure that you are ready for this?"
"Absolutely," she answered.
They entered the room. Elyon stopped in front of the throne. She was ready for this, although she had so many emotions.
She saw her brother. He had long and beautiful hair, icy-blue eyes and a little smile on his face. She could feel a family connection between them. Will was staying next to Phobos, in her guardian form, smiling at her. So everything was true. There were no more doubts for her.
Elyon saw Cedric near her bowing deeply in front of the prince.
"This is Elyon, Phobos. She is your sister!" he said.
