Love is in the air

Chapter 11 - Decisions

"Thank you, Cedric. Now leave." Phobos said, staring at his younger sister.

"But… I don't want to leave." The lord answered.

The prince switched his glare over to Cedric, looking upset.

"Hmm… He seems to know how to rule this place…" Elyon thought. The only thing that bothered her was that Phobos' glare was upon Cedric.

"Will… Please take him away. And you better stay outside the room too," the prince said, glancing at his love, and then turning back to Elyon.

The leader of the guardians squeezed tenderly his hand and whispered to him: "Phobos, please remember what we talked about, ok? I'll be waiting outside for you." Then she kissed his cheek and walked over to Cedric.

"Let's get out of here and let them talk."

"But I have to protect her!"

"Nothing bad will happen, trust me. He accepted not to harm her. But we have to leave."

They walked out of the throne room.

Phobos looked at his sister. She was beautiful, she seemed smart. And a great power was in her… He couldn't believe it! All this time he planned how to drain her powers, how Meridian would be all his! But no, he couldn't do anything! Anything! Will had come to him earlier; she began talking about his sister and finally made him say that he won't harm her. How could he let that happen? Oh yes, because he loved her.

"Well, hi Phobos."

Elyon's words made him snap out of his thoughts.

"Hello," he answered.

"So, the important thing: will you drain my powers?"

"I see that no secret is kept away from you. No, I won't do that."

Then she did something that Phobos wasn't expecting. She came and hugged him. "Thank you so much, my brother! I'm beginning to love you. I can't believe this is true, but here I am with you in this place and…"

He pushed her gently away.

"I'm not draining your powers because I said so to Will. I hope you can understand that I don't love you."

In that moment she made a very sad face and tears fell from her eyes. She wiped them quickly. Of course she didn't expect Phobos to like her or love her, but a small hug couldn't hurt.

Seeing how sad she was, Phobos realized that it was affecting him. What? At first he fell in love with Will (but he didn't regret that) and now he could care about his little sister? But he couldn't help it. So he hugged her.

"Sorry, little sister. I didn't mean that. It's only that I'm not used to kindness; it's all new for me."

"Don't worry," she smiled. "I will be here for you and I will help you with my power, in case you want to. I'm not ready or prepared to rule over Meridian. You will still be the ruler, but please stop doing bad things. I've heard that you aren't the exact nice kind."

The prince shrugged his shoulders.

"Can't believe it! You and Will managed to transform me so fast in a different person! I guess anything is possible when love is around. And I don't fight it, because I…like it." He sighed. "Weird, but true. And I will help you improve your skills. I am your big brother, right?"

"Of course! Now, should we go to Cedric and Will?"

"Yes, they don't know yet about what I decided."

Elyon grinned happily. "Let's make a little joke. What do you say?"

"Joke? What joke?" Phobos asked confused, and then he got it. He laughed and accepted.

Will was walking nervously in the room next to the one with the throne. Cedric was sitting in a chair and he kept asking, "What is happening there? Why does it take so long?"

Finally, the doors opened. But only Phobos came out. Cedric fell off the chair and Will asked terrified: "Where's Elyon?"

Phobos grinned. "I drained her powers."

"WHAT?" Cedric and Will both shouted and ran in the throne room. Elyon was lying on the ground. Cedric took her in his arms and whispered her name. Will turned to face the prince.

"How could you? You said that…"

Andshe stopped. He was laughing, but she knew him: it wasn't an evil laugh. And she realized why.

"Cedric…"

But the lord was still with Elyon, who wasn't moving."

"Cedric!" Will called him again.

"What?" he answered upset.

"Cedric, they're joking!"

"Huh?" he looked at Elyon, who was giggling now. All four of them burst into laughter.

"We hope you're not mad at us, right? We just wanted to make our first joke." Elyon said.

"Of course not, my dear. I am so happy that you two are friends now. Just like a brother and a sister." Cedric answered.

"Yeah. You really tricked us. I'm glad that you didn't drain her powers, Phobos."

"I couldn't. She is a very sweet little sister. And you are a very sweet girl too, Will!" the prince said, taking the keeper into his arms.

She nodded happily in his embrace. "Your decision is very good. But now I think it's time to talk to the guardians."

Sorry because it's a little short. I'm also planning to write another story, a WillxPhobos. I have the idea, but I need to write it down and I don't have much time now. Well, hope you liked it! Bye!
