Chapter 12 - Misunderstandings
Will searched the city of Meridian twice before finding Blunk.
"Hey, Blunk!"
"Leader guardian Will, hello!"
"Blunk, please go on Earth and tell the other guardians and Caleb to come to the castle, here in Meridian. I have to talk to them about a lot of things. Ok, Blunk?"
"Sure, Will. Blunk goes right now."
"Thanks!"
Back on Earth, the girls were at the Silver Dragon, trying to figure out why Will behaved like that.
"It's obvious she is hiding something, and I don't think it's something good." Cornelia said, staring at Hay Lin.
"But we have to trust her!" the Asian girl answered.
"No, we don't! If she can't tell us and trust us, why should we?"
"It's true…" Irma said. "I don't like the way things are going! She has been in Meridian and we don't know why, although it's our job!"
Suddenly, Blunk came in.
"Very important message!" he shouted.
"What do you want, Blunk?" Taranee asked annoyed. "No more food in the garbage, huh?"
"Will told Blunk to say to girls: come quickly at the castle."
"In Meridian?" Caleb asked, entering the room and hearing what Blunk said.
"Yes, Will is there. She called you."
Then the green little creature went to eat a big piece of cake.
"She is in danger?"
Blunk couldn't respond because he had his mouth full of food.
"I think so… We have to go now!" Taranee said, worried.
"But we have no powers!"
"We have to try at least!"
They all headed for the exit, except Cornelia, who didn't even move.
"Come on, Corny! No time to be mad!" Irma said.
"I'm not going! We don't know anything, so we can't help!"
"Oh yes, we can. Please Cornelia, I'm begging you!" Caleb took her hand, looking at her with hopefully eyes.
She couldn't resist him and, sighing, got up and followed the others.
They found a portal and went to the castle. Knocking down a couple of guards, they managed to get in. It was quiet, and no one could be seen.
"We should go where the prisoners are kept." Hay Lin said.
As they were walking, Cedric appeared in front of them. When he saw them, he looked very surprised.
"What are you doing here?"
"Where is Will?"
"So she probably called for you. Alright then, no problem."
"No problem? You horrible beast! What have you done to her? Where is she? We will fight, Cedric, and you'll loose. And it won't be nice!" Irma yelled.
Then, Elyon came with her parents from Earth. They seemed calm and happy, but Elyon had heard how Irma insulted Cedric and was angry. Her parents left and she came in front of the lord.
"How can you say such a thing? Cedric hasn't done anything wrong to you!"
"E-Elyon? What are y-you doing here?" Cornelia stumbled in shock.
"Don't worry, Cornelia, I'm fine and I'm home."
"What do you mean?"
"This is my home. Near to my brother Phobos and to my love, Cedric. The question is, what are you doing here?"
"Phobos…Your brother? Snake boy, your love? This is wrong, Elyon! They are bad; actually, they are even worse. B-But how?"
"I'm the princess of Meridian. But I will consider that you said nothing about Cedric." She turned and smiled at him. "I think you're here because Will sent for you."
"That's right! We are here to save her!"
"Save? But why? She is fine, just like me."
"Huh?" Hay Lin asked confused.
But then Will came in, with their enemy, prince Phobos. He was holding his hand around her waist and they were laughing. When they saw the group, they stopped walking and laughing.
"Hi, guys. Thanks for coming!" Will smiled.
Taranee couldn't believe it. Hay Lin was in shock, Caleb was clenching his fists, but Cornelia looked more than mad.
"You traitor! That's what you have been hiding from us! You don't deserve to be a leader, or a guardian! You are just like our worst enemy! And you, Elyon, with this lizard…"
"Cornelia, it's not what you think… they aren't so evil anymore!" Will said, almost crying.
"We thought that you were in danger, so we came to rescue you!"
"B-But…" the keeper said, crying this time.
Phobos looked at his love, who was sobbing in his arms.
"Enough!" he said. "No one hurts my Will! Or my sister! Guards, take them to the dungeons!"
But as Phobos' men were attacking, Will stopped them. "No! Don't hurt them, Phobos… Remember, you have to be good, not evil!"
"Oh yeah... I remember… So what should we do?"
"Let them go… I didn't tell them the truth from the beginning; I don't deserve to have such great friends. P-Please leave!"
They left, looking less mad like at the beginning, but still doubting if it was a trap or not.
Cedric kissed Elyon, thanking her for standing up for him.Will continued to feel so bad for loosing her friends, because of a misunderstanding. But she knew that they needed time to think… They were her true friends, and Elyon's too, after all...
