Annabeth glanced down the the pitch, watching Luke run back and forth, the coach yelling out drills for them to do.
She wrapped her arms round herself, the cold leaving her shaking. She watched as he laughed with his friends, shoving them, and a small smile covered her face.
It was bittersweet. She was happy he was happy, but her heart ached that he never acted like that with her anymore.
Ethan, Lukes best friend, pulled away from the pack and made eye contact with her, sending her a little wave. She grinned as he made his way over.
He threw himself down next to her, shaking his head causing sweat to fly everywhere.
'Ew! Ethan thats disgusting!' She complained as he laughed.
'Sorry princess!' He asked, holding his hands up in defence.
She rolled her eyes at him and passed him a water bottle, to which he accepted gratefully.
'So,' he started, 'how was the date last night?'
Annabeth frowned and glanced at him.
'What do you mean?' She asked curiously.
'Well, Luke mentioned he booked a table for two last night at the little Italian. I assumed it was for you?'
Her heart dropped as she watched Luke.
'No, i didn't go.'
Ethan paused awkwardly, eyes shooting towards Luke too.
'Shit.'
Annabeth turned round to face Ethan, biting her cheek nervously.
'Maybe it was for him and his mom?' She asked hopefully.
Ethans eyes softened and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. She could tell by his eyes he didn't agree with her.
'Yeah. Maybe Beth.'
Annabeth tapped nervously on her knee as Ethan stood up, starting to walk away.
He paused at the steps, turning round to face her.
'For the record, if it wasn't his mom, he made the biggest mistake of his life. Anyone would be lucky to date you.'
She smiled gratefully at him, heart sinking as he walked back down to the pitch.
What was going on?

She stared out the window as Luke pulled out of the parking lot, mind racing.
The radio was blasting, and she hesitated, before turning it down and facing him.
'Hey! I was listening to that!' He complained.
'Do you want to hang out tonight?'
His eyes shot to hers nervously, and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
'I thought you were streaming?'
'I was supposed to, but i rarely see you other than in school anymore. We should do something.'
Luke nervously tapped on the wheel, eyes locked on the road ahead.
'I cant tonight. Sorry.'
Her eyes hardened on him.
'Why not?'
'Because!' He harshly spat, 'i have plans!'
Annabeth closed her eyes, gathering all the courage inside of her before quietly saying,
'Going back to the Italian?'
Luke slammed on the brakes in shock, turning to face her. Guilt was plastered all over his face, and Annabeth's heart dropped at the reaction. She watched as he quickly composed himself and put the handbrake on.
'What? Are you stalking me now?'
Annabeth shrugged slightly. Luke sighed before placing a hand on her shoulder. Her composure softened and she glanced at him.
'Are you cheating on me?' She asked defeatedly.
His eyes widened and he stuttered for a moment.
'No! Um - of course not!'
Annabeth crossed her arms and look at him disbelievingly.
'I'll admit, i was there last night. But it wasn't a date or anything!'
Her eyes drifted to his, doubt in her heart.
'Who were you with? Your mom?'
His frame relaxed and he closed his eyes, smiling down at Annabeth in relief.
'Yes, my mom. Im sorry you thought that i was cheating. I never would.'
Annabeth nodded slightly, turning back to face the front.
'Okay,' she spoke hesitantly, 'okay, I'm sorry for thinking you would.'
He smiled down at her and placed a kiss on her forehead, before starting the car again and driving down the road.

She laughed at her screen as she scrolled down reddit, showing her fans the recent fan-art and memes made about her. Her doubts from her conversation with Luke were pushed into the back of her brain as she ate her burrito and chatted with the subscribers.
As one of the videos was playing, her eyes darted down to her phone, where a text lit up the screen.
Unknown number.
She frowned as she picked it up, unlocking her phone and reading the message.
'Hey! Sorry if this is weird, but it's Piper, Percy gave me your number! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime. You seem really sweet!'
Annabeth smiled down at her phone, happiness filling her heart. That was so cute! She really like Piper too, from the short period she had talked to her. Plus, she seemed important to Percy.
'Ofc! That would be so fun! Im streaming now but i'll message asap afterwards and we can sort something :)'
She grinned and saved Pipers number, then she put down her phone, turned back to her screen and opened STEAM.
She was excited to spend more time with Piper, and even more excited to spend more time with Percy.

'So, who's Piper then?' Thalia asked as she flopped onto my bed, sipping on her Starbucks. She had came over after stream to hang out, handing Annabeth her usual order.
'Shes a really sweet girl i met at school. I think we're going to hang out at some point!'
Thalia jokingly put her hand to her heart, pretending to be hurt.
'Wow! Im being replaced as your bff!'
Annabeth rolled her eyes.
'Oh cmon! Don't be dramatic! Besides, you're never free anymore!'
Thalia laughed jokingly and stared up at Annabeth's ceiling.
'What can i say! Im in high demand!'
Annabeth swivelled round on her gaming chair and pushed herself over to Thalia.
'What have you been doing anyway? You don't have a secret boyfriend do you?' Annabeth wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
Thalia laughed awkwardly and Annabeth noticed how she avoided eye contact.
'Oh my god!' Annabeth gasped, 'you fully do! Tell me about him! Do i know him?'
Thalia rolled her eyes and pushed Annabeth in her chair away, heart pounding.
'No! I don't. If i did I'd tell you.'
'Righttt, okay then.' Annabeth drawled out, not believing her friend.
'Kids! Dinner!' Her dad yelled from downstairs, and she could hear Bobby and Matt's footsteps pounding on the floor as they raced to the table.
'This isn't over!' Annabeth pointed at Thalia, standing up from her chair and walking out the door.
Thalia let out a breath of relief, and stood up to follow the girl, eyes stopping on a picture of Annabeth and Luke resting on Annabeth's beside table. Her heart clenched slightly, and she made her way down the stairs.
