Need and Duty
I hold her tightly in this dark, hidden corner of the balcony off the mess hall. My mouth and hands are urgent, needing, as the first promise of sunlight invades the sky. I want her so much.
We were supposed to share this sunrise from the balcony of my room after our first night of pleasure. Instead, we slept apart again. After all these weeks of learning and caring about each other, since the wink on the gate room balcony, through the pain of my recovery from the alien entity's gunshot she still hasn't forgiven herself for, I don't understand her holding back.
As the new morning light overcomes the darkness, her hot body pulls away from the hardness I fight to control, again.
Her voice is thick with unsatisfied passion, and something else I don't recognize. She tells me about the mission my team is scheduled for today. We are to capture a Wraith and bring him back to the city, alive and unharmed.
In the full daylight, I see only Atlantis' expedition leader, not Elizabeth.
