GF9-Alert
Naturally when society is made, organizations like the military, police, and so on are formed, thus it's only natural codes of differentiating alerts are also created. From red alert, to Omega Level, there are many minor small alerts be it from a burglary, or simply needing assistance with capturing a speeding car are made.
In this case GF9 is an alert made for nearby towns or villages near GrimmFall. The code is basically a response for back-up when either Grimm or bandits in emass come and attack, and the location is unable to deal with it by themselves. GrimmFall City gets the GF9-Alert, and responds quickly by sending Huntsmen or armed guards to the location to aid them. If they're quick enough, then they can save the town or village. If not, well, then once more tragedy has occurred.
It was just two hours after midnight, a bit past two a.m. Wildpath was more or less asleep, with only a few people up. Though the exception to late-workers or rebellious teens were the guards on duty. Many who observed the towns outside borders for any potential threats. Be it Grimm, bandit, or maybe an out-of-control robot. Whatever the case, the guards on duty were keeping an eye out for any possible threats.
"Hehehe." Which was why one guard was confused when he heard a giggling laughter, then felt something cold and hard touch his neck. Excuse me, slice through his neck. Before he could even talk or scream, a hand covered his mouth and in moments he died from blood loss. Purple eyes with a grin and a wagging scorpion tail glad they got their job done. Then moved on to the next guard.
Unknown to the watchers of Wildpath, one by one they were slowly taken out, and in very quick time to. Not all of them of course, just the ones at the east section of the town's walls. About three or four of them. Nobody would even sense their disappearance until they had to contact them for a report which was still three minutes away.
Even worse however, because those guards were taken out, nobody noticed a gathering of bandits at the east. All of them grinning as they noticed a small flash of light from the one who killed the guards.
"Man, that guy is good." One of the bandits said. "He took them out like nothing."
"Yeah. Definitely a high-level threat." Another agreed. "Aside from maybe Rank 4 Veteran. Some of those guards were at least a three."
"Quite." Another then hissed. "Don't make any unnecessary noise. We don't want the Grimm coming."
"Please." Another scoffed. "Bandit Princess told us they won't be a problem."
"And what makes you think that?" One asked the guy. "I mean, what, suddenly she can see the future."
"Just do you damn job." The bandit hissed as he and a few others then looked at the east wall. There they saw another flash of light, this one three times. In other words, one minute before they attacked.
With one minute left, the bandits quickly checked their gear. Some had swords, others daggers, a few with some bows and arrows. The more luckier ones had guns and bombs, stolen from trucks that were coming to give them to GrimmFall forces. Each and every bandit was armed to the tooth, and were more than ready to strike.
It helped that they had observed the towns near GrimmFall for many years, which included this one. Meaning they had a good grasp on its size, utility, and weak points. With them was climbing gear and smoke bombs, with other tools needed if they were going to pull this heist off. Oh yeah, Bandit Princess told them all about it. Ho thanks to some new allies like that faunus, they were going for the big score.
Everyone was in position, and not just in the east wall. The other bandits were in other areas, ready to strike. Bandit Princess having told them that if they all played their parts, and if they came out alive, the entire town would not only be theirs, but that all of its supplies would be their own. Food, weapons, clothing, all of it. They'd have to move quickly of course, because sooner or later GrimmFall will send their Huntsmen and guards, but by the time they'd arrive it'd be too late.
"Ready...set.." Because now. "...and...GO!" It was their time!
"Alert! Alert!" A guard ran into the office where many of the guards currently on break and awaiting their shift were sitting and rating. That all changed when a guard came and instantly burst with sweat on his face. "B-Bandits! Attacking the east! Two minutes ago! We need to go, now!"
That got everybody up and alert.
Why those stationed on the east didn't report, the smarter ones already had an idea. Soon, it won't be long before the residents of Wildpath realized the loud noise wasn't actually some punk throwing a party, but that they were under attack. They had to make a move and fast, before real problems came.
"Alright, listen up." One of the older senior guards shouted out. "At least one-third of us will go and head toward the east. The rest of us will get our weapons in the lockers and extra ammunition. We all know what happens when bandits strike." Grimm.
"Edward, call the police and tell them to prepare for panic. Because people will know about this sooner or later." The guard he talked to nodded, throwing his hand into a salute.
"Yes sir!" He responded. "I'll get them to help with the bunkers."
"Good." The senior said and turned to the rest. "Now get moving!"
"Yes sir!" Everyone shouted and then began filing out. Not wanting to let their home be destroyed. As for the senior, glad he got orders out, he quickly got his radio and made contact with those in the control room.
"Control, you reading me?" He then asked.
"Yes. And we just got a silent alarm from the east." The man in control asked, already staring at screens where it showed bandits. "We're keeping an eye out on reinforcements."
"Good." The senior nodded as he began moving. "If worse comes to worse, we'll make contact with GrimmFall itself. It's only a thirty minute ride or so here by chopper at full speed."
"Understood. We'll be on standby unless we need to initiate the GF9-alert. Control room out." With that the senior then began moving out to help deal with the situation. This town wasn't going to fall under his watch.
"Get them, get the-!" The bandit was then shot down by gunfire. The east section of the wall now has guards who had been nearby. All of them shooting down at the small army of bandits trying to get over the wall. They just had to hold out until back-up arrived and then arrest the remaining bandits that survived.
"Keep firing." One of the guards shouted as all the guards did their best to keep the bandits away. Most of their aims easily hit the bandits. While not exactly killing them, those who were shot went down screaming while clutching their bullet wound. It would appear that many of the bandits didn't even have aura. Of course those that did have it proved to be more troublesome.
"Hahaha!" Especially when those that had aura, also had a semblance. From one bandits hand he shot air bullets that hit a few guards. "Got y-ah!" Though thanks to distance and poor aiming, it didn't even do much. The man then shot down and fell onto the ground.
"Watch out." Only for hooks to then grapple themselves onto the ledge. There the bandits were now climbing, those with or without aura. Though the latter were much tougher to shoot down as they just shrugged the bullets off and kept climbing. Those on the ground covering them by shooting either arrows or bullets at the guards on top.
"Damn. There's too many of them." One of the guards said as he kept firing with his pistol. "Where's back-up?"
"They'll be here in under two minutes." One of the younger ones shouted back while dodging an arrow. "We can take this though. Our armor helps a lot." The guards on Wildpath currently donned black armor that could shrug off the bullets these bandits had. Covering them from head to toe while only exposing the joints for movement with their faces covered by a thin but durable plastic front.
The bandits were tough, but they weren't making much progress. Already those on the wall who weren't shooting were cutting down the grapples causing the bandits to fall. The situation was bad, but not too bad. Overall things were doing okay.
"Hahahaha!" Until it suddenly wasn't. Suddenly bullets impacted those who were shooting at the bandits onto their backs. Unlike the bullets the bandit had however, whoever shot at the guards had more higher rounds and thus cracked at their armor. While no blood was drawn, the shots impacted their backs and caused a moment of pain that stopped them short.
"Get them!" A voice then called out from behind the guards that reached down below to the bandits. There, a figure heard the voice and grinned. Despite the crap that happened to her earlier, and while she still had fear running into her, at this moment, she only felt joy.
"Have at it fools!" Joy that she could now attack someone that wouldn't beat her up. From the ground a figure then leaped all the way up to where the guards were and landed on the walls.
White fur, horns, and a blue robe/dress that covered her body and was now a bit longer as it extended past her knees and covered her legs from sight. The guards who saw her recognized her as a highly wanted criminal. For it was none other than Bandit Princess, who gave them all a grin. "Hello," Then in an instant they all felt pain. "And good-bye." Where those who had been near her by a five meter range then slid off their lower halves and fell splat onto the ground. Having actually been cut and separated.
It was a technique Bandit Princess learned over her time training in the forest. She would put her aura into her weapon-the sword-heightening it's speed and while strengthening her own arms. And unless the target had really good durability, then her sword would slice anything she struck at. There's a reason she took care of her blade's edge.
It helped that she could regenerate her aura quickly thus how she was capable of this technique at the moment. And now the guards who saw what she did were scared, freezing up.
"Now it's my turn." Thus making them easily targeted by that maniac called Tyrian, who attacked at that moment. The guards turned around, and instantly got bullets to the face. First they cracked the face masks, then they crumbled, then their faces were full of bloody holes. Their bodies falling off the walls and onto the bandits below who howled in joy. If any of those guards were alive, then they'd be dead soon enough.
Bandit Princess grinned as thanks to her and Tyrian, the guards were now shaken up allowing her bandits an easier time to climb, get on the walls, and fight back. "I got this from here." She told Tyrian. "I'll get my boys to soon crowd the streets."
"Good." Tyrian chuckled as the blades of his weapons came out. "Do well, and her Grace will grant you mercy and a chance to join her." In an instant, his blades were on her neck. "But fail, well, hehehehe." His hand then parted the bottom of her outfit where to only them and nobody else, revealed a pair of legs that were clearly the type that belonged to the Grimm. "Those things do more than just give mobility."
Bandit Princess took the threat well. She had time to...recuperate from the nasty incident of having her actual legs and a few fingers torn and eaten. She lived in a forest most of her younger life, so got over things quick. So while she was scared, she didn't let it show on her face. "Noted."
Tyrian smiled, and then jumped away as he then went onto the streets below to find stragglers. Also to achieve another mission he had been told to do. Bandit Princess shivered as she then looked below, knowing what had replaced her legs. Aware that even if she ran now, she'd be killed by either that woman's followers...or through something worse.
'What have I gotten myself into.' Bandit Princess then held her blade, and went on to help her men kill the guards. She either showed her worth in this mission, and lived. Or failed and died. She had no intentions of doing the latter.
The town was officially awake. Minutes after the fighting started, and even more time to hear the gunshots and screams, people began waking up. It wasn't long before the citizens realized they were under attack, and slowly anxiety and panic began entering their thoughts.
Thankfully people were soon put under some calm as the police began showing up. Telling them to come, guns raised, and people taken in an orderly fashion from their homes to the bunkers made for situations like this. Their presence and the words that told them they'd get through this reassured most citizens. Now many were on their way to the bunkers with all tension nearly gone, having some food and water and other small things with them.
"Is everything in the bunkers clear?" An officer then asked on the radio, getting a roger from the other end. "Good. The people are on their way." The officer replied as he turned off the radio and looked back at the line of humans, faunus, and mobians. All of them appeared nervous but not as panicked as before.
While one could hear the shots and and screams from afar, it was still at a good distance away. The bunkers themselves were also away from the fighting, meaning they didn't have to fear much of bandits.
'Just a bit more walking and we'll all be safe and sound.' The officer thought as he walked with the people. While he was a bit scared, he felt assured that the guards would handle this, and later on the Huntsmen that were reported to soon help. This town didn't have too many Huntsmen, but they were all Rank Three with a few even being four. This situation would be handled in no time.
"Her Bay," The officer then called out to a fellow friend of his. "How long do you think this will last."
He didn't get a response immediately. Instead figuring his friend was just thinking of an answer. She was like that sometimes. In a second, he got his answer.
Thud.
Just not with words, but with a body falling onto the ground with a black arrow seemingly made of glass embedded into the head and blood spilling out. The people in the line naturally screamed.
"Calm down." Another officer shouted, doing his best to not make the situation worse. "Please, everybody calm-" Then like Bay, his next words were cut off. Instead getting only a gargle out as his mouth filled with blood, an arrow in his throat. The officer from before, looked stunned as he saw his friend Bay and now this man fell dead as people then began running off away from the line. Scared that they were next.
Quickly he then began moving, to do something. His hand reached out to a scared mobian dog boy.
"G-uhh." Only to fall onto the ground as an arrow penetrate through his clothes and stuck out of where his heart would have been. The boy screamed as he ran off while the officer felt all life leave him, and became just another corpse on the road as people began panicking.
Then the roars came.
"Excuse my language but shit!" One of the women in the control room shouted. Radar and sensors going off like crazy as alarms and lights began going off. Everyone in the control room worked at their best as they could as they realized the situation was in had just gotten worse. Because if their cameras were right, Grimm were on their way.
"Sir!" A man then called out to the chief of the control room. "Grimm are incoming to the town. Even worse, reports from the guards at the east are telling us that the bandits are now entering the town."
"We also got confirmation that some officers at the residents' homes were just killed." A woman cried out.
"Even worse," Another man then yelled, bringing even more bad news. "Some Huntsmen reported being attacked from afar by bandits that got in, followed by a man throwing fireballs at the buildings in the fire stations."
The chief slammed his fist onto the desk. "Damn it!"
The attack, it was good. Really good. It seems the bandits were actually doing their best this time around. Usually they just stole trucks of supplies, or robbed people who left the town for business. But now, now they were about to take and destroy everything. Not if he could help it.
"I'll be back," The chief then called out. "I need to send the GF9-Alert, because clearly this is becoming more trouble than what we can handle." There's no shame in calling for help, especially in a situation this dire. He quickly entered the room, and began inputting a code on the nearest and active computer. There he then found the line to GrimmFall and pushed the buttons to give him access to the emergency line.
"Help! This is a GF9-Alert. Wildpath is under attack, I repeat, Wildpath is under attack!" He then shouted at the microphone attacked to the computer, hoping his message got across.
Zzzzttt-zzzzzz.
" ?" Yet he only got static from the audio set, with nobody calling back. Did the city not hear him, should he try again? Believing he needed another attempt, the chief decided to repeat the message when suddenly the screen on the computer changed from the emergency line to a deep color red with a Queen Chess piece in the center with the letter W in front of it.
"What in the world…" The chief tried changing the screen, but he got nothing at all. Tapping on the buttons did nothing, even trying to reset it did no good. What was going on!?
"I'm afraid I can't allow any help to come." A voice was then heard, in the room. Turning, the chief then saw a man with a smug grin. He had a slim build and slightly tanned skin. With short greying hair and green eyes, where he held some kind of phone on him which had the same screen as the computer.
"You…" The chief then began realizing it. "You're blocking my call."
"Yes I am." The man confirmed, then pushed a dial on the phone-like device. "And now, not just that either."
"Hey, what's going on?"
"The cameras are all out!"
"I can't get in contact with the police of Huntsmen!"
From outside the room, he heard the shouts of his workers' sudden shock. The chief now realizing this man cut off communication to everything. "You, you fool!" he then shouted. "If you do this, then the bandits and Grimm will kill us all!"
"You maybe," The man paid no mind to the chief's screams. "But I and the others, not so much. Tyrian, be a dear and rid this man and the rest of the people here. I'll get to work on the gates."
"With pleasure." Suddenly the chief felt pain before he could even process the man's words. A stinger tail bursting from his chest now tinted with his own blood. Suddenly he heard laughter, and two hands grabbing his head. A jerk to the right and a loud snap was all it took.
It wasn't long before everyone in the control room began screaming.
The attack was well planned, focused on the east side of the town. Because of this a majority of the guards and Huntsmen were heading to that area, to help their fellow friends and allies push back the bandits. Little did they know, they were all being tricked. As once they all focused on the east, it made it much easier for the other group of low-life bandits to sneak at where the gate was.
"Oh crap." One of the few guards, stationed there with a few others saw the bandits coming out. "More are coming, and we barely have anybody at the gates."
"No." Another guard went, as her eyes widened. "This was their plan, make us focus on the east. We have to call for help." She then turned to another guard who was trying to contact someone on comms, but angrily took the piece from their ear and shook it.
"Nothing! I'm getting nothing but static!" He told them all, with those at the gate realizing he was right. A simple push of a button and their comms only gave them static.
"Just what is going on." A man shouted as he slammed his fist onto the wall.
"Cra!" Then was taken by the shoulders as a man sized Nevermore grabbed him and took him in the air.
"Oh my gosh!" A guard shouted.
"Cra!" Then another Nevermore came and grabbed him. Though unlike the man from before, this one grabbed his face with its beak. Needless to say, blood was spilled in an instant.
"Ah!" The woman backed off and grabbed her gun. She then got ready to shoot.
Vvvvvv.
Only for her jaw to drop, as the gate was suddenly opening. "Command!" She then tried contacting the control center, even if it was still nothing but static. "What's going on? Why is the gate opening?!" She then drew her pistol and shot at the Nevermore who had turned to her, sensing her fear. "Command. Command!" Her bullets did little more than annoy the Grimm. Cawing at her as she then fell onto her butt, and could only whimper.
Once her pistol ran out of bullets, the Nevermore red eyes gleamed as it then lunged at her.
It didn't take long for chaos to start inside the town. Because as the scared people were moving, suddenly bandits came screaming at them. All of their weapons out with smiles on their faces. The townsfolk panicking as they all began running off. The very town itself turned into a disaster zone.
Police officers, guards, Huntsmen, all of them vs the bandits.
While the vast majority of the bandits were weak, there were still so many. And not all of them were fighting, instead opting to set things on fire. Attack innocent people. Vandalize stores. A few even bragging how they shut off their communications system. It wasn't long before the fight between what may as well have been everyone then got worse as howls and screeches were heard.
For the Creatures of Grimm had arrived.
"No! NOOooo…-!"
"My son! Someone save my son!"
"Ahhhhhh!"
"Chief! What's happening? What-gahuahauh!"
"Raaaaa!" With roars and howls, all the Grimm charged and attacked the people. While a few noticed strangely how none of the Grimm attacked the bandits, they were in little position to worry about that note. As they were all chased down by Grimm of all sorts.
Beowolves!
Major Ursa!
Nevermores!
Boarbatusks!
Creeps!
Even Deathstalkers of all things!
Whatever Huntsmen and guards were left, and who tried to work together, were needlessly killed off by the numerous numbers of seemingly unending Grimm, bandits, and their own wounds.
"Why...why is this happening?" A woman said as she held her child, a young faunus girl who was crying. "Why?" To her, everything happening now was something she never even dreamed of happening. The day she went to work, did her job, talked with her friends, then went home to see her husband who had picked up their son from middle school and daughter from elementary. After that they talked of their day, ate, showered, and then all went to bed.
Then the bullet shots and screams were heard.
A wide-message alert came and the woman and her family tried leaving with the town's officers.
But, but, things just somehow got worse. First came the shots that killed a few officers, then came the bandits, and the Grimm that killed her...her...oh…
"Mom," Her daughter then asked, with tears in her eyes. "Are dad and Drake gonna be alright?" Unintentionally, her daughter's innocent words brought to mind the last scene she saw of them. Of them right behind her, only for a Creep to grab her son and drag him off...and her husband and the Nevermore…
"Uh!" It took all her effort to not cry in front of her daughter, stifling sobs and just ran faster. "They'll...they'll be alright." She assured her daughter, who went back to hugging her.
'I just need to escape, that's all.' Mourn later, run now. It hurt to hear the screams of people dying, and hurt even more when some of those screams belonged to people she knew. But she needed to keep her daughter safe, even if she fell, she has to keep her safe no matter what.
It was then as the mother ran she saw someone near a building.
A red vest, red hair, and a red sword. Her eyes widened, it was a Huntress she knew. A friend. With hope fulfilling her heart, the mother rushed as quickly as she could. "Beth. Beth!" She called out. "Listen! Do you know of any way ou-"
She then heard a crack, and the body of Beth fell showing her skull had been crushed.
From the shadows then came a man. A tall and muscular middle-aged man with broad shoulders and height, he has short brown hair, a beard and hazel eyes. Wearing an olive green coat and had what appeared to be Dust in his hands. Whimpering she fell back, as she realized he was the one who killed Beth.
"No..No!" She shouted. "G-Get back! Please! Don't hurt my daughter!"
"Mommy?..."
"Please! Just not her!"
"..." The man stared at her, then sighed. "Do not worry, I won't hurt you or your daughter." For a second, she felt assured. "However, I won't save you either." Then it fell dead, as suddenly a grimm came from behind the man. This one being a large Alpha Beowolf, that snarled. "I'll give you five minutes to run, after that, this one will be out of my control and chase after you." The man sorely said as he then turned away, his back facing them. The Grimm getting closer.
"It's a shame what has happened here." He then continued as he then threw a Dust crystal which set fire to a nearby clothing building. "If things were different, then none of this would be happening. We wouldn't be here, supplies wouldn't have been needed...yet here we are now." Grimm howled and the mother began running, only hearing the last thing from the man before the Beowolf would chase here. "Maybe if a miracle happens, you and your daughter would be saved…"
"Don't worry Hazel. I'll be back. This will be my first mission, and nothing should go wrong."
The man then gave them a look of pity as the mother ran with her daughter. "But such miracles don't exist."
The Grimm, having enough then began giving chase. His orders to it will only ensure it doesn't kill them.
"Ahhh!" But that didn't mean it wouldn't play with them. The Beowolf had caught up quickly and slashed the mothers back. Then shouting at her daughter to run which she did, running as the Beowolf began tormenting the mother until the five minutes were up. With another sigh, Hazel decided to end the mother's pain by throwing another Dust Crystal which killed both her and the Beowolf, but felt no better about it. Knowing this situation, even if he didn't pull the trigger, he was still as guilty as anybody else.
"And the only thing that keeps me going...is either I do this…or everything I've done will be for nothing." With that, Hazel left and prayed that maybe the daughter would live, but didn't believe it either.
"Well, I suppose we should almost be done here." Cinder then ordered a few bandits to leave, and attack the officers in route to the civilians making their way to the bunker. They obeyed and she resumed sniping anybody close by. She then looked at the shattered moon and then back at the town.
"Funny," She then said. "Even in another world, tragedy will always happen." Just the way life works, even in another world.
Cinder had to admit, even if that quak Watts failed miserably in his new toy, she did feel it interesting enough that they were in another world. Though it felt the same, at the moment anyway. Hazel did show them papers and maps that this world had a different geography than their own. Plus something about heroes, what a bore.
'Speaking of heroes…' The memory of a girl with silver eyes came to her mind, and a snarl came on her lips. Ruby. Ruby Rose. If this is another world, then she hoped there'd be an alternative of her here, otherwise her vengeance would go nowhere at all. Though speaking of enemies, she then remembered her own allies, Mercury and Emerald.
Pondering what they were doing now that she was gone and the rest. While the Grimm won't attack them thanks to Salem's orders, they'd be stuck at the castle unless they took one of the Bullheads stationed there. And if they did, that'd mean they'd realize the castle had nothing for them aside from the few servants Salem employed who'd probably also go with them to leave the Grimm-filled continent.
'And once that happens, what would they do then?' After all, the two joined her for different reasons. One because he felt it was worthwhile to joining her or being nothing at all, and the second because she was starved for attention and love. Yet once they discovered she and the rest were gone, what would they do?
'Probably make a living in crime I suppose.' The two were a good pair, and she can see them surviving even without her and the rest. In some way, it made her feel a bit proud of them. At the very least, she didn't have to worry much about them. They'll be fine on their own, and who knows, maybe if they meet those bats take them down a peg.
Moving on from these thoughts, Cinder then refocused on killing the local Huntsmen. It was good to get practice with her arrows, and also made panic grow even more. This town would soon be gone, and later on be nothing but a former shadow of itself.
'Also,' Cinder then realized. 'Maybe I should also get extra practice with that.' Seeing a lone Huntsman who was taking some people away, while having his shield up, Cinder grinned as she then raised her arm at him and her palm began to glow. Then…
Nothing.
"?" Wait...nothing?
Cinder looked at her arm, then at her hand. Attempting to wield what she has, only to feel nothing. No rush, no burn, just nothing. For a second confusion was seen in her eyes.
"Alright sir," The Huntsman told the faunus. "We'll just keep going and-gah!"
Then all she had was rage in her eyes as she kept sniping the body full of glass arrows, even after he was dead. Realizing the one thing she worked hard to get, the planning, the effort, and all that she had done...had been for nothing!
"And so, the curtains fall to another home." Salem monotonous spoke as she walked into the now ruined town.
Buildings were on fire, Huntsmen and guards laid dead, bandits all over, and Grimm rampaging across the town. She was by herself, as she wished to be. The rest of her cabal doing their jobs with Bandit Princess's group doing theirs. Though on the chance the occasional Huntsman or bandit saw her, she killed them instantly. She didn't need people spreading knowledge of her after all.
'Because if people knew someone could control the Grimm, they'd either fall in fear and despair...or challenge the threat and band together.' Something she's seen before one to many times. Particularly with whatever alliteration group Ozma created.
Ozma...to think he wasn't even here. She knew he would eventually return, about a year or so, but now she wouldn't see him again considering the circumstances. Salem wasn't even sure if that was a good thing or bad thing.
"Gra." Salem then saw more Grimm wander, and simply told them to attack while pointing her finger as they then moved. A small smile graced on her lips, as the Grimm-side of her enjoyed the carnage and screams she heard. Something she had grown used to when human suffering came about.
"?" Then a small annoyance came as she then felt something entering the small hive-mind she created with the Grimm of this area. Without even looking back, she snapped her fingers and a hiding baby Deathstalker died. 'Just what is it I keep feeling?' That wasn't even the first time she felt it.
During the assault, she felt a few Grimm slowly slip from her control-but in a subtle manner-where she then killed them off. She expected ancient and elder Grimm to resist her control-as they've gained enough autonomy and intelligence to start thinking for themselves-but not these younger ones. Sighing, she supposed she'll ignore it for now until later.
"U-uh!" She then heard a cry, one full of fear. Turning, she then saw a young faunus little girl sniffling, as she wandered. While she didn't care for this child, as most of her human emotions have dwindled down throughout the ages, seeing this child did bring up...another memory.
"Mommy." A young girl in blue smiled, showing balls of magical light. Surrounded by it with three other girls. All of whom...she couldn't even remember their faces.
"Raaah!" Her mind then snapped back to reality. Where she saw a Grimm…
Crunch. Crunch.-Snap!
...and what used to have been a little girl, now reduced to a pile of stripped meat.
For a second Salem's mind blanked out, then when she opened her eyes, she saw the Beowolf Grimm having its limbs bent all the wrong ways and it's neck snapped with ice poking out of its body. In a few seconds it then died out pitifully while dissipating back to dark smoke.
Blinking, Salem then resumed back to her walk, under the shattered pale moon.
"Woah. That was hardcore. Guess someone dislikes kids being killed. Or at least in front of her." Without seeing a person from high above in the air floating, with an owl by her side. "Her Pericles, know which Fallen she is? Because I don't recognize her."
"No my lady, I do not." The owl replied to his Lady of Chaos who pouted a bit.
"Oh well. Still, she seems interesting. Not often a Fallen goes out and destroys a town just like that." Which was funny since Sammael usually reined the Fallen in. Yet he was allowing one to do this. Or was there something else at play, since Nyx could see that this Fallen felt a bit...off.
"Eh." Nyx then shrugged as she turned away and began floating off. Having only come here because she felt a mass amount of strange energy, but decided seeing this little scene was worth it since she couldn't sense the burst of energy anymore. At least she got a good show. Plus, she had better things to do. Like planning to throw the finger at Klarion, and had a useful friend in the form of June. Glad the girl saw things her way, even if it was a bit more restrained.
Though maybe when she has time, she could check on that Fallen again.
She wasn't sure why, but she felt more interesting than what her eyes told her.
What happens when non noteworthy heroes are around or famed Huntsmen? Well in most stories, usually people die unless there's some nearby hero. The world can be cruel indeed.
