GrimmFall Tour
For visitors who wish to see the city of GrimmFall itself, all they have to do is buy a pass and a tour guide will come and show them the sights of the city itself. Answering any question the person can while revealing many of GrimmFall's best sites and spots. Giving a history of certain areas, showing locations where Huntsmen train, and locations of interest.
Restops occur for those who need to relax, and depending on what payment a person made, the guide can last anywhere from a day to an entire week.
It starts at about nine-o-clock in the morning and ends at five thirty.
Ah, Tyrian was having such fun.
As he ran across this new forest, this new ground, this new sky. So much to see, so much to hear, and so many reasons to laugh.
"Wait! Pl-please! Do-" Not to mention so much new blood to spill. Never did he think he could cut down the blood of a person from another dimension. Who would have guessed.
In turn, it was certainly bad luck that this poor hiker who couldn't have been older than twenty five met their end by the hands of a dimensionally displaced man mad. Sadly, considering the countless threats here on this universe's earth, and the fact this hiker went into the forest alone, probability said their chances of dying increased.
Regardless, Tyrian continued his mission given to him by Salem. Keeping an eye out for witnesses and any little settlements around here. Locations that when the group moves out to avoid, or to take their supplies. Already he found two that they could stop by for a little...refueling.
'Still though,' Tyrian thought as he continued moving at speeds faster than a normal car, avoiding the animals. 'This place is so strange.' During his time watching the settlements, he saw many things that he recognized from Remnant. Yet more often than not, also see things completely unexpected, that are new or unique. Seeing devices being run by things other than Dust, which wasn't often on Remnant. Not to mention these Mobians, which baffled him.
It made the scorpion faunus both interested but cautious at all these new sights. Why, whenever he took a break he checked his Scroll for information and was astounded by whenever he got an explanation.
'Faunus that can turn into a full animal. Semblances that feel stronger than normal. Even talking machines. Oh my!' Truly this strange world had much to offer. As such, Tyrian has a decently sized back-pack with water, food, and of course, things he found interesting whenever he spied. Such as the newly colored Dust he saw a while ago. No doubt her Grace will want to see that.
'And speaking of pleasing her,' Tyrian's mind then went to Cinder and Hazel. Making him ponder, just what was it they could be doing now? Most likely something interesting.
The trip to GrimmFall was...eventful.
Naturally, Salem couldn't go herself nor Bandit Princess with the former looking obviously evil and the latter a wanted criminal. Still, despite that Salem had a medium sized Nevermore take both Cinder and Hazel away to GrimmFall and fly them to the city with given directions on their scrolls. Not too close of course, since it's likely the city would attack once they saw a Nevermore in range.
Instead it only brought them at a walkable distance, where they then hopped off and the two went on their way. Of course Cinder had no choice but to wear a more...casual outfit, as to not draw attention. A simple red shirt and black jeans with a grey and yellow jacket while still having her hair cover her masked eye.
Although…
"I knew coming from England would be neat."
"Yeah."
"それだけの価値があると思います"
"..." With how others were dressed, Cinder felt she may have not had to fear it. As some were clearly foreigners from whatever placed they hailed. Actually, some dressed the way people on Remnant did. So her outfit might have been fine. 'Too late to change now though.' She rolled her eyes.
Regardless, she and Hazel were now here at the front of the city. Where thanks to-uh, Watts-he got them passes and a map where they had to visit the tour guide. Where countless people were talking to each other-those that could speak the same language anyway-and were having fun.
"Hey man," One person in a yellow shirt smiled at Hazel. "How are you doing?" Hazel stared, gave a curt nod with a grunt, and looked away. The man got the message that Hazel didn't want to talk at all, then turned his sight to Cinder. "Hey ba-" In response, a palm was shot inches from his face. "Uh...got it…" Then like that, he moved on.
They weren't here for fun. Just on a mission to do to see what this famed city was like.
And maybe get some actual food and relax in a place without some perverted bandits." Cinder also thought the food served wasn't all that good yesterday and she knew some men were following her when she went to take a bath.
'I'm sure Salem won't mind a little relaxation.' Cinder thought with Hazel feeling the same. Also wanting to sleep in a bedroom without blood on the floorboards.
For some reason people felt a chill around those two.
"Hello everybody." A voice then called out showing what was likely their tour guide. Some random no-name woman that Cinder and Hazel would likely forget by the time this was over. "It's so good to meet you. My name is-"
Hazel and Cinder tuned her out, and instead opted to just listen to the relevant information. Grabbing some pamphlets, the two decided to read the information on it. Where there was a decent amount of information on it, which Cinder took it all in. Reading the main points.
The City of GrimmFall
Built by the hard labor of many and led by the numerous brave men and women who would begin their building of it. Where when travelers would settle in the area, they would fight and kill countless Grimm that came nearly every day. This was mainly caused by the location as the land the travelers and warriors were in, also near the Darklands. A place where no human resides and only the Grimm live in.
Cinder blinked. That sounded a lot like the Darklands of Remnant, where there the Grimm could be found everywhere and was a land of death. Granted, this world's equivalent seemed to consist of a forest or jungle, but it had the same name. Guess there were similarities between their two worlds after all.
She then moved on to another part.
The city is known to have the most Huntsmen and Heroes on the entire planet. With those like Phil Ken Sebben being seen as a admired man to achieve as, with the Justice Friends by his own side. The city itself has connections to numerous people across the planet and other countries like Japan, Moana, Ireland, and so on.
A few pictures were seen with one of Phil Ken Sebben, who gave vibes like Ozpin only more irritating. Not to mention these...heroes. 'They look ridiculous.'
I mean, yes Remnant had some people who dressed rather interestingly. But these Justice Friends...a little too bright for her tastes. Though of course, Cinder can admit she is rather bias on such clothing. She is a woman with taste after all. And her opinion was that this Krunk person with purple skin-somehow-and green shorts was not a match in heaven. Then again, neither was some man in a bullet looking suit and a ridiculous man with blonde unruly hair.
Regardless, this was still good information. Apparently these pamphlets were useful for something after all. Hazel himself also turning the pages regarding the schools and training. Of course these little papers only held the basics of the basics, as such, they needed to get information first hand.
"And now, let us go on our tour." So looks like they would follow this person on their little trip. Taking them from place to place, all while being told what this city is like. How very dull. But orders were orders, and while they won't admit it, both Hazel and Cinder are interested in what this city has to offer. May as well see just what made this city ever so famous. The villains hidden in public following the crowd of people all excited to tour GrimmFall.
"..." Meanwhile, somewhere at the end of the crowd, an average man was watching. Not to the tour guide, or to the people. But two individuals who should not be here. He wasn't anybody important, nor was he a great threat. However, what this unnamed person was is a man who is connected to someone. For the very person he worked for, was then connected to someone much stronger and powerful.
"I found them. I'll be watching them now." That very someone, who was interested in these two.
An evil greater than even them.
"And that is what the spy is telling us." Moloch speaks to Sammael while looking rather dull. Though to be fair, the Fallen wasn't the type to find espionage as fun. Causing people to fall into despair is his type of joy. "Honestly. Why not have I and Am just do this instead?"
"Because they're a little too eccentric when doing jobs." Sammael calmly rebutted. "Besides, nothing wrong with using other employees." Sammael had more than just his Invisible Hand members. He had allies nearly all over the world. Granted, most like the one in GrimmFall now we're just no-name individuals with no memorable powers or unique gains. But that's what made them perfect.
Nobody said a spy had to be some expert individual with great prowess. No. Sometimes it was fine to just have the ordinary people working with him. While they may not be important and were expendable, as he once said before, everybody had their uses.
Even a simple man who just wanted money would spy on someone, if it helped pay for their son's hospital bill.
"Very well, but are you planning anything?" Moloch asked, curios. "It can't be just watching them."
"No." Sammael replies. "At the moment I'll be doing nothing either to them of course. We have many plans as I'm sure you know. Dealing with all the numerous threats showing such as Cronus."
"Yes. No need to remind me of the absurd level of threats coming to earth." At times, Moloch pondered if the earth was some kind of danger magnet. Because even now he was surprised just how many threats there were here on earth. What a pain. "Fair enough. But what is your goal for these two at the moment?"
"Nothing much. At least until I can see their master. Until then, they can do whatever until I have the time to deal with them." Sammael admits, being busy with all the current plans at the moment. "Besides. From the looks of it these two and their other allies aren't doing too much and aren't causing any form of problems at the moment. No need to rush after all."
"I suppose so." Moloch relents, as these current dimensional displaced people aren't doing any real harm for the time. If anything, there was no need to deal with them and continue doing their plans. "Though still, should we not send someone else to at least keep tabs on them. That little spy isn't exactly fast, and he will lose them eventually."
"Yes. I agree that maybe we should keep tabs on our new guests." They may be doing nothing now, but eventually they might do something that can delay Sammaels plans. While the ruler of the Grimm and Fallen is patient, that didn't mean he had his own limits. Still though, he couldn't use the Grimm. Sure they can be used on the other individuals, but not the foreign being that could control them. Plus while he has other spies, the more capable ones were busy elsewhere.
Which meant he needed to have someone else watch them for a time. The only question was who, seeing as many of his members were busy at the time preparing. He also needed to be sure the one sent would give themselves away. His mouth then moved to a small smile. "I believe I know just the man for the job."
Or should he say, Mobian.
"Alright everyone. Time for a break." The tour guide tells everyone as the group happily accepts it. "Here we are in the lunch area. Buy what you eat and fuel up. Oh. Except for those who got the premium tickets, then lunch is free."
"One good thing having a quack doctor I suppose." Cinder whispers to herself as she gets up with her premium ticket. Where she then showed it to a nearby stall owner who nodded and let her grab what she wanted. Hazel was the same as he got filling food with some protein.
The two then eating while keeping their distance from the other guests who talked about the cool sites they witnessed these past few hours. It was rather dull if Cinder was honest, but informative. As the tour gave her insight of just what this world was like For it was certainly a more...advanced one.
'It appears Salem was right after all.' The former Fall Maiden admits as she takes a sip from her soda. 'This world, it has more warriors with more locations claimed by humanity and the other two races. If I recall, she once mentioned how humanity only advances when they have breathing room.'
Something this world had in spades.
She asked a few questions herself, and through it was answered with answers that shocked her internally. For the most part, this planet had far more people living in this world than on Remnant. Having billions in the population, while living nearly everywhere. Including having space travel. Space Travel!
While it didn't make Cinder think that highly of these people, it did make her realize how ahead this dimension was compared to Remnant. After all, they could only get this far unless they managed to somehow get the Grimm to back off. So while they were still a threat across this world, not as much compared to Remnant, where thanks to Salem and time, they flourished. Which of course made Cinder wonder...how did they get the Grimm to be less numerous?
'This tour guide answers the questions well, but they don't know everything.' Plus she knew she couldn't ask certain questions without sounding like she was some bumpkin who knew nothing. She had to act like she was already a normal person who lived here. Not a person who garnered suspicion.
As Cinder thought this, Hazel himself was also thinking of this world and its own unique advantage. But also in a more pressing manner. 'This place, it has more warriors than Remnant ever did.'
Remnant held many brave souls and warriors-most of the time. This planet however, it felt as if it had even greater men and women to fight against not just the Grimm, but also what he saw was various threats. The tour guide having mentioned how GrimmFall fought off many attacks by villains these people knew by name, while defended by both Huntsmen and heroes that they cheered for.
This showed just how influential these warriors are, and made him wonder just how big of a threat they are? While the internet and stories of others are good, it's better to see for himself. Live action is better than stories that are likely to be exaggerated.
So far he did face a few Huntsmen back when the town was being destroyed. But clearly those weren't people worth mentioning. As while that one female Huntress he faced was good, she fell to his hands in minutes compared to others.
'So how can I test this world's warriors?' Hazel ate his sandwich while thinking this. As he did, a group of teens were talking when one of them said something that caught his attention.
"So I heard there's going to be a fight later." A teen said with a grin.
"Really. Where?" His friend asked.
"At the park."
'What a waste of time.' Hazel thought realizing it wasn't worth it. He was about to leave to throw away his tray when the boys then said something else.
"I heard that te people going are gonna make bets. Already in the thousands." Thousands?
"Makes sense. I hear Muscle Man is facing some tough dude. Don't know his name, but later we should check it out." Yes. Yes it would be good to check it out. Hazel finished the last of his food and then threw his plastic tray in the recycling. He then walked to Cinder and told her his thoughts.
"Cinder."
"What?" She asked while finishing the last of her drink.
"I'm going to leave for a bit to get some money."
"Don't we have enough?" Watts does have a current virus to get them cash on the go.
"It's digital. And possible that someone could find the virus to rid it, then we'd have nothing. Where I'm going, thousands will be made in cold hard cash." Made him ponder just why people would give out that much money, but then again, perhaps it was because of who was fighting. Maybe if he was lucky, he'll see some actual warriors. But he doubts it.
"Fine." Cinder says, not really minding. "I'll stay and see what more information I can gather. Hopefully you won't be wasting your time."
"Likewise." Hazel grunts. "I'll be back at the end of the tour." And like that Hazel left to see if he could get this money. He was no expert gambler of course, nor a better. But it shouldn't be hard to threaten whoever won that much. So with that Hazel left while Cinder stayed to learn as much as she could.
None aware that they were about to get a blast from home.
As suddenly far away, an entire ocean away, a purple energy beam, one of three from Van Kleiss's lab, finally was about to make it's stop. The beam itself having made its way to Japan itself. It then resumed its trek until it soon made itself all the way into the forest, where at long last it dissipated.
However, unlike the first one, this one didn't entirely vanish. For reasons unknown instead leftover energy formed and became a circular-like purple portal. One that was now deep in the forest ominously where nobody would find it so easily. One where it laid undisturbed.
"Grrr." Until from the portal itself, a boney claw came out. Though it was far from the only claw as soon even more claws came out. Where from an entirely separate world, the creatures of Grimm of different origins came out.
From Beowolves, to Creeps, to a few Grimm that not even GrimmFall even had. All coming from a location where Grimm came in tens of thousands and so on. Where one of the Grimm then walked up to a nearby cliff, where it then saw a glowing city. With a growl, the Grimm then began moving with more of its kind still coming out of the portal.
They may be from another place, a different origin, and a different master. But ultimately, they still had a job to do.
Kill.
GrimmFall will get a lot more Grimm, where Lord Maximus and I talked and it was decided Remnant will have a few Grimm earth doesn't have and vice versa. Also, I noticed some of you are confused by the timeline.
Basically put, this story takes place days to potentially a few weeks ahead of the main story, but not by much. Overall while Salem and the others will have an impact, it won't be by much until much later. Enjoy.
