Denver Dust Storage Unit 3
With the discovery of Dust, many things for mankind has changed with its unique properties and the like. Yet for all those changes, naturally some were bad such as discovering Dust could be very volatile. As such, places to store them safely were made and many cities including Denver have storage units for them. Dust Storage Unit 3 having the proper defense, casings, and other supplies needed to keep the Dust safe from landing in the wrong hands.
Tina Mathews waited, waited as she stood on top of a building, overlooking where the Dust Storage was at. Her eyes looking around for anything unusual, and keeping an eye out for suspicious activity. Shivering a bit from the weather, but ignored it as this was more important. Though it did annoy her that nothing has happened at all, despite the time that has passed here. Goes to show seeing the future isn't as all cracked up to be as expected.
Clicking her tongue, Tina sat down and muttered, "His eye could see an attack, but not a proper date."
It was three days ago Sebben told Tina that one of Sammaels own cronies was coming here for some strange reason. Coming to her city, and ready to cause chaos. The second Sebben told her, Tina did her best to get all she needed to face the bastards coming here. The nearby guards already told to be wary as she gave them a fake report of trouble that may come, which was technically true. She didn't like lying to the police, but such things are necessary in this shadow war of Sammael's.
'And,' Tina thought, a dark expression on her face. 'Maybe I could take one of his toys.'
Ever since her brother died, Tina has made it her mission to ruin the Fallen and bring them down. To avenge his death while saving others, learning of the bigger world out there and just how much danger there was. Well, now was the time to strike, and Tina was ready. After all, not often she and others are told of an impending attack from a Fallen personally, and was told Dust Storage Unit 3 is the target.
Sebben's team he sent was already here and while not with her at the moment, were just resting after the trip to come here. Plane lag as they call it, and are getting their gear ready. While she would rather work with her husband, she knew of Team REYN and trusted them well enough to do their job. Once the attack happened, they'll come out and help her out with two of the Justice Friends coming soon enough once they helped a few towns outside of GrimmFall who were succumbing to the cold.
'Not to mention Living Bullet mentioned a surprise.' Tina having already talked to Living Bullet on the plan and how they'll get the jump on this new Fallen as she was described to and their little minions. Tina holding her phone which showed four pictures.
One was the scorpion faunus from days ago, and was already told that while his actual identity was unknown, to watch out for his power. The ability from what appears to be disrupting aura and leaving the spot open to deadly attacks, as Tina personally watched with the recordings on Katz. Yeah, he needed to be taken down fast since he was strong enough to actually deal with Katz and actually wound him.
The other two were drawn images showing a stoic man and a girl with one amber eye. Sebben unfortunately only getting their appearance and not their actual powers other than the girl which seemed to be some kind of absorption ability or something along those lines. The final one being Bandit Princess who was definitely a decent fighter, but Tina could handle her.
As for the Fallen, Sebben told Tina he didn't know much of Sammael's latest ally. All that the Fallen was a woman from another world, only clearly on the side of evil and that she was working with Sammael already. Reports of destroyed villages and towns already on her name, meaning Tina will definitely feel satisfaction on taking her down. Still, there was only one problem now, and it wasn't just the date of the attack. 'It's also how.'
Sebben may have told her they would attack and cause countless deaths, but that was it. So how will this new Fallen get in here?
"Almost done here. Finally." A construction worker said as he fixed a leaked pipe down in the sewer. Sighing at having to do the dirty work and just wiped his gloved hands to get rid of some of the grime on it. Having been called on to fix this and had to deal with the smell down here. "Well, at least I'm done now." He smiled.
Now he could go home and take a shower. Not to mention play with the kids and spend some time with the wife. So with those thoughts, the man turned ready to leave.
"Grrr." Unable to say a word when his head was reduced to chunk meat when the Beowolf bit right into it.
Boom!
Tina's eyes widened, as her head turned where she heard a small but notable explosion. A small smoke pillar could be seen, and the small screams from the distance could be heard.
"No." Tina says as she couldn't believe this. Sebben said they would attack this storage unit here, never did he mention the city. A blue portal opened up and from it Ross and his friends came out.
"We just heard what happened." Ross says as the team acted instantly the second they heard trouble, showing their professional sides as they had acted immediately. "What happened?"
"They're attacking the city." Tina answers to them, not looking happy. "Sebben said they'd be here. Not there!"
"Or maybe," Erika put in her thoughts. "This is how it starts, and later they'll attack this Dust Storage."
"Still doesn't mean we can just let them attack there." North adds in. "It'd be best if we split off. One for where they're attacking now, and the rest staying here when they come here."
"May be our best action." Ross agrees as he adjusts his glasses. "In that case, Tina, can you come with Yara and I while North and Erika stay here? I understand you'd rather deal with the enemies there than just wait around."
"Definitely." Tina raises her weapon, Rapier Whip in her hands. "Take us there."
"You got it." Yara chippered as she then focused her mind where her semblance Vortex activated, having already studied Denver's layout just for this occasion. From it a portal opened to where the trouble was and Tina entered instantly with Yara soon following. Ross looked at his two remaining team members and nodded to them with them doing the same. Ross soon entered and the portal vanished leaving the two behind.
"Alright then," Erika smirked as she took out her sword Aegir and gun Rán. "Guess where waiting for now, huh."
"Indeed. And soon, the others will arrive." North referred to the Justice Friends. "Still, we must get ready. If what Sebben said was true, this Fallen comes from another world and thus we have no information of her powers other than magic."
"Interesting." Erike comments on that part. "I thought Sammael was the only one with magic among the Fallen."
"Well, she is from another world." North shrugs his shoulders. "Regardless, we do this right, we take away one of Sammaels pieces from the board." He just hoped his friends would be alright.
The attack had happened so suddenly. The people rightfully panicking, as while Grimm attacks had happened, they never occurred in the city. So how Grimm got in here was unknown to the people, nor did they care as many ran with the unlucky ones being mauled and killed as they were the closest.
Though what made things worse was whenever the police and a few nearby Huntsmen tried to help, they would soon be dealt with. Dealt with by two individuals who either cut them down and shot them with arrows, or crush their bodies with a pair of fists followed by some bandits who also emerged alongside the Grimm and laughed as they looted and pillaged the place.
"What a waste." Hazel says as he grabs a Rank 2 Huntsmen and punches him so hard, his aura breaks and his spine snaps when he hits a car. "I can't believe we're doing it like this."
"Well, plans change." Cinder tells him as she turns her swords into a bow and then shoots some arrows and the auraless police who die when they're heads adorn a new arrow in their eye or forehead. "If anything, this wouldn't be happening if he did nothing."
Hazel grunted and just continued dealing with the Huntsmen. Though soon, his eyes saw a flash and from it a portal opened up, similar to Raven Branwen as her file suggested. There, three people came out consisting of two women, a blue hair and brunette, and a man who gave off a vibe that Hazel knew very well. A man who wasn't happy.
"So," The man with glasses says as he stares at both Hazal and Cinder, ignoring the rampaging Grimm and bandits for now. "I see you two are part of this, correct."
"And if we are?" Cinder mockingly asks as she breaks her bow and turns it back into blades.
"Honestly." The man then looks at them, and while composed, both villains could see the anger in them. "I'd have rather dealt with something else, and not more of Sammael's pawns."
Sammael? Who the heck was that? Though before Hazel and Cinder could even think of it, the blue head suddenly entered a portal and vanished.
"..!" Hazel, with years of experience in combat, felt some kind of instinct and turned around, where a portal opened up and the girl came out with a grin. She was on a board which then shot lasers forcing Hazel to dodge.
"Enough talk," The girl yelled as she then used her floating board to turn and shoot more blasts at Hazel who was forced to run. "Time to beat these jerks down!"
"Exact words I was thinking." Tina growls as she takes out her weapon alongside Ross as both rush at Cinder. The girl smirks and whistles, where some of the rampaging Grimm stop what they're doing and go to aid her. Clicking his tongue, Ross decides to deal with them while Tina engages with Cinder as Yara engages with Hazel. All five combatants then enter battle as they soon clash.
"Hiya!" Starting with Hazel and Yara, as both began battling.
Yara shooting at a safe distance foring Hazel to run on the streets. As he moved, he did his best to avoid the blasts coming from Yara's board. While he knew his aura could handle a few of those hits, he wasn't going to risk depleting his aura to much. So, as he ran, Hazel went toward a car and then punched at it.
"Woah there," Yara's eyes widened. "What was that for?"
Hazel didn't answer. Instead, he ripped the door out of the car and then ran towards Yara, using the car door as a makeshift shield that took the hits for him. Clicking her tongue, Yara opened a portal and entered it. She then came out from above Hazel where she got off her board and grabbed it, using it as an improvised club. She then tried to slam it on Hazel's head who quickly lifted the car door and used it to defend himself.
Smirking, Yara let go of her board and opened a shield which she entered, another opening in front of Hazel where she came out of where she then threw a punch at Hazel's gut.
"Gah!" Only to scream when all she managed to do was cause him a slight discomfort while bruising her own hand. The dude was tougher than she thought. Hazel grunted and tried to slam the car door on her, thankfully Yara acted quick and entered another portal which she fell down to making Hazel miss. Yare came out from behind and then kicked him behind the knee but once more was unable to actually do anything to him.
While Yara was tougher than the average person, against Hazel who was far more physically imposing, she may as well have been trying to kick a boulder. Still, she was quicker as when Hazel tried to slam his arm against her, she hopped back and pulled out some kind of metal ball which she threw at him. It made a clicking sound and then it exploded and sent electricity onto Hazel.
Yet to Yara's surprise, Hazel didn't even show signs of pain and instead moved at her. Forced to use her portal again, Yara came out the other end and had positioned herself where her discarded board was and raised it to shoot more blasts at Hazel who couldn't use his car door in time, taking a few hits. Still, the man didn't fall from it and tried to run toward Yara who just teleported again creating a game of her shooting at him and him unable to catch her.
Meanwhile, Cinder dueled with Tina with the former grunting as Tina expertly used her extended chain whip to destroy Cinder's own swords like they were nothing. Realizing that the woman's weapon must be made of a powerful material, Cinder opted to use her archery skills instead. Using her sand, she morphed it into a bow and started shooting arrows which this strange woman cut down before they even reached her.
Tina herself then used her semblance to enhance her speed greatly and was instantly in front of Cinder whose eyes widened. Taking that opportunity to strike, Tina put away her weapon and started assaulting Cinder with a barrage of well-placed punches and strikes. Breaking the bow with her own fists and then threw a mean hit on Cinder's face.
A scowl came onto Cinder's expression as she jumped back and revealed her Grimm arm which she extended and used to grab Tina's neck and stretch her limb forward and widen the distance. Tina, not willing to be strangled, grabbed her weapon and cut off a part of the limb making Cinder hiss as she pulled back her limb where the former Fall Maiden had to keep from screaming out loud as the hand slowly regenerated. Cinder then simply used her semblance to create some daggers which she threw to buy time for her hand to regenerate, Tina easily blocking them all.
Tina moved in and extended her blade and having used fire Dust to set it alight. Cinder jumping to avoid it and her hand finally regrew. The former Fall Maiden then stretched it to reach at a nearby building and then let herself be dragged to it where she then got on top of the building. From the distance, she began shooting more arrows and while she could tell she couldn't hit Tina, she could at least buy herself some time.
Back to Hazel and Yara, it was clear the two were in a draw.
While Yara was doing more damage to Hazel, she noted that not only were her attacks not doing any form of pain, but he kept regenerating his aura at a ridiculous pace. All she was doing was prolonging the fight. Though that was about to change soon as Hazel, getting tired of this, decided to get more serious.
From his pockets Hazel took out Fire Dust and to Yara's shock, injected them into his body.
"Woah there!" Yara yells at him. "Are you trying to-" Before she could even say another word, Hazel roared and shot multiple fire balls at her. The surprise causing Yara to react more slowly and ended up getting hit by one of them. Hazel then ran at her with Yara opening a portal, though before she could enter Hazel grabbed her by the leg and lifted her up and smacked her on top of a car that's windshield shattered.
Yara gasped and Hazel let go and grabbed her by the collar. The tech wiz noticing how he was scorching his left hand was was prepared to grab her face, freaking her out as he was about to melt her face off! Though just moments before Hazel could disfigure her, Ross came in and used his aura to augment his strength and punch Hazel so hard, the man himself was sent flying. The lion faunus having already dealt with the Grimm and swiftly aided Yara.
"You good?" Ross looked at Yara who nodded, moaning a bit as she looked behind her and while she couldn't see it, knew her back was kinda messed up as she felt a slight crack. Plus her outfit was ruined because of the glass. "Rest a bit." Ross glared at Hazel. "I'll handle him."
Using his semblance, Foresight, Ross ran at Hazel who also ran towards him. Where once they met up, both of their fists clashed against one another so hard, the ground beneath them crackled.
Back elsewhere in the city, Erika and North continued to wait. Believing the attack was a diversion so that when the Huntsmen and police went to stop the attack, the Fallen and whatever she brought with her would come here. Granted, both still wished to help out with their friends, but they knew Ross, Yara, and Tina will handle it. As such, they talked a bit while waiting.
"So why do you think Sammael sent this Fallen here?" Erika talked about the topic of the new Fallen Sebben told them about. "I mean, there's nothing here in Denver."
"Honestly, we may never know." North replies back. "We're only here because Sebben said this storage unit for Dust was here in his vision. Perhaps there's something in it we don't know about."
"Ah. Like how the earth was nearly ruined by that alien invasion with the new wielder of the Spiral Gem." Erika referred to the man who now held the Spiral Gem of Bond. Where apparently some facility that didn't seem important actually had the Spiral Gem and other secrets many wouldn't even think it had. So who knows, maybe Denver had something that Sammael wanted, and sent this Fallen woman here to get it.
Though as they continued talking, both then stopped as they heard a growl somewhere. Ducking down, they went to see from where they heard the noise on the roof. Where, they then saw a Centinal Grimm crawling on the ground. The Fallen was definitely here, seeing as the species shouldn't even be in this region of the world.
"She's here." North says as he grips his weapon. "It's time we get ready for her appearance."
"See if we can beat her, and if not, stall her until the Justice Friends arrive." Erika then stands up and readies her gun. "Looks like we have a Fallen to bag."
"Interesting." Both members of Team REYN then freeze, and turn around where standing behind them with a smile, is a woman that screamed Fallen with a smile on her face. "So you did know I was here." Besides her was a small girl, that caused North to flinch as she gave off an inhumane vibe that wasn't human, faunus, or anything else. As for the Fallen, she then pushed the strange girl who wore human skin and said, "Restrain them for me, will you."
The girl looked up and her eyes were pitch black, and in a moment a small pearl in her hands flashed, and the two felt their very aura drained with the women then saying, "I have questions for young Erika and North."
Cliffhanger!
As you see before you, Salem knew these two somehow, and managed to get the drop on them despite not knowing where they were. How? When? If you read closely, you'll know how she did it and next chapter will state how it happened. The fight between Salem's cabal and the rest will continue, with Living Bullet and Krunk arriving with a guest star. Until Next Time.
