Remnant

Eons ago, Remnant was once a world full of magic, with two Gods ruling over the inhabitants after its creation. Full of many different people, who chose to be good, bad, normal, and so on like humans normally do. Then came the Eradication Event, where after a failed rebellion against the Gods, the God of Darkness wiped out humanity in one move. As the God of Light quotes, "This planet was a beautiful experiment, but it is merely a remnant of what it once was. We will learn from this failure. I hope that you will learn from yours."

With the exception of one woman, no humans remained and only the Grimm, animals, and plantlife were left. In time humanity would rise once more, but by then the planet had become a dangerous world. For without the God of Darkness, the Grimm considerably multiplied over the eons until they were found in every land, every continent aside from Solitas, and even then they evolved quickly.

Had it not been for the mysterious substance known as Dust, the next generation of humans along with the hidden guidance of the powerful Wizard, humanity would have perished.

Now, alongside the faunus, the new residents of this Godless world continue on with their life. Like earth, they're are good people, bad people, and normal people, with hidden secrets all around.

While less advanced and being less dangerous than earth, Remnant still has many foes and has far more Grimm than earth alongside Salem, who can be considered the closest to the Fallen.

Remnant also possesses four powerful Relics, that can re-summon the Brother Gods for a final judgement as the great Ozma learned himself. At the moment, due to an irregular accident, Remnant is connected to earth and only a specific few, less than ten, know of the portals connecting the two worlds. Whether this will be for the better or the worse is currently unknown.

One week before the attack on Denver...

Inside a cave, hidden from the rest of the world, a tall being stood with treasures of all sorts surrounding him. Gold, jewels, artifacts, many objects of desire with prices that would make even the richest faint. The hoard of such treasure being massive, where it would set a single person for life, and even beyond that. Treasure that had taken many years upon years to gather, and all hoarded by one being who grinned everytime he awoke to see such treasure in front of him.

Then suddenly, one day, to his horror, all the treasure he had gathered would shine brightly...and vanish.

"No." He whispered. "NO!"

This being screamed and raged, destroyed the cave walls, searched for his treasure, and raged more when he could not find it. The wealth he had gathered being his greatest ideal, now causing him to enter a spiteful state that Grimm sensed and began to attack him in great numbers. They didn't even last long against him.

However, for all his hate and despair, this being had enough sense to feel a presence. One that he recognized.

"Well hello Ganeesh." Red hair, dark veins, pale white skin. The being known as Ganeesh knew who this man was, and instantly attacked the vision of the man.

SLAM!

Even if it was just a vision, Sammael used his power to call upon the tendrils of the hidden Seers to hold the once former human in place and bring him down on the ground. Ganesh far from pleased.

"Sammael!" He roared. "This is your doing!"

Impassive, Sammael spoke, "It is. And what of it?"

"You!" Ganeesh broke free and killed the Seers, then struck at Sammael. Though since it was a vision, naturally his attacks did nothing. Not that the insane golem cared, just wanting his wealth back. Sammael, speaking with a soft smile as the fool continued to strike.

"Come now. Did you think I would have taken your betrayal all those years ago lying down." Sammael says, as Ganeesh roars. "The only reason you didn't face the consequences was because I didn't care at that time, and knew I could get you back under me later on."

"And so you stole my wealth!?"

"Wealth I helped you gain." Sammael chuckles. "I led you to countless sources of treasure, so long as you worked for me. But then you got greedy and ran off, now spending your days in this cave with all your treasure, thinking you outdid me. Well, how do you feel now."

"Sammael!" Ganeesh screamed.

"No need to yell, I'm right here. And, I have a mission for you." A new vision could be seen next to Sammael, one Ganeesh saw that showed none other than Japan, that then zoomed in to show a forest with Grimm. "Let me get to business. Ganeesh, as of this moment I have taken all the wealth you amassed for all these centuries, hidden away from you. But, you can get it back."

At this Ganeesh stopped screaming. Now listening, if only because his wealth was involved.

"Good. No more screaming. Finally." Though the golem still did his best to scowl, as much as a golem could. "Now then, here is my situation." More visions came, of reports from televisions and tablets. All in Japanese of course, featuring a rise in Grimm and something called the Hound. Everybody unsure where they were even coming from.

"What is this?" Ganeesh asked.

"Grimm. But different." Sammael tells him. "Japan is getting an influx of Grimm, and normally I wouldn't mind or care." A new vision then shows a Grimm Ganeesh has never seen before, the Hound, ripping a woman in half and spreading her organs everywhere. "However, after seeing this one, and taking a closer look, I discovered these Grimm are different so to say."

"Different?"

"All I'll say is that while I can control them, I can sense unnatural differences in them. All these Grimm coming from Japan, and unfortunately I have other priorities right now, so I cannot check it out."

"So what, you want me to scout!?" Ganeesh says angrily. "I am no dog!"

"No. But you will work like one." Sammael darkly says. "We had a deal, and you left because of your greed. I let you go after that betrayal, but now I'm cashing in on your disobedience here and now." Ganeesh then felt worry, as Sammael looked at him as if he were a worm. Or in this case, his new dog. "I want you to go to Japan and see where these Grimm are coming from. Do so, and if you produce satisfactory results, your wealth will be returned-with even some interest."

Now this got Ganeesh's favor.

"But," Sammael continues. "If you fail, or attempt to disobey, then your wealth will be, hehehe, not wasted."

Suddenly Ganeesh, to his horror, saw visions of-of-CHARITIES!

"While I'll keep some of it, you have so much wealth not even I can use it all up. So I suppose the next best thing is to use your money to pay those working under me, then give it to all the children I can find."

"NO!" If Ganeesh was still human, tears would be leaking from his eyes.

"Why, perhaps I'll even teleport the remains to the legendary Cooper Gang, so they can put it in their vault. The only place that has more wealth than you." If he had a proper stomach, Ganeesh would be throwing up.

"Y-you can't" To share his wealth. To give it away! He thought Sammael would just keep it away for eternity. But this was much worse. To see his treasure being given to others made him feel weak as the day his old body got sick. A living nightmare!

"Then do as I say." Sammael tells him as the vision of himself vanishes, but his voice remains. "Find where the Grimm are coming from, or your treasure will be forever lost." Then the voice was gone, leaving Ganeesh alone. For a moment there was only silence.

"SAMMAEL!" Then the golem screeched as he proceeded to destroy his cave and any Grimm that came at him. His destructive behavior was so great, that towns and villages that were miles upon miles away from his location, swore they heard a loud scream. Thankfully, they wouldn't have to deal with this mad man. After all, he needed to go on a trip somewhere.

Japan.

Remnant

Remnant. A world that can sometimes be referred to as one of bloody-evolution. Where humanity had a tough time living, especially if they weren't part of one of the four kingdoms or a strong city with good defense like Argus or Kuchinashi. As such, when Grimm attacked one town that had little defense, it was clear they were doomed.

"Hya!" Were it not for countless teenagers, closing in on becoming young adults. With skills that would put even some fully trained Huntsmen to shame, as the group defended the people with their array of skill and teamwork.

"Eat it Grimm!" The leader of four girls, and this group at times, a young girl in red and black, with silver eyes. Using her weapon, an intimidating scythe, with ease as she cut down Beowolves as if they weren't even a threat. "Haha!" Probably because they weren't to her.

"Nice one sis!" Nearby, a blonde Huntress-in-Training compliments her sister as she then punches a fully grown Ursa so hard, that a hole appeared in it's chest. "Doing great." Suddenly, a Beowolf came behind her.

Bang!

Only to be shot by a girl with long black hair, and cat ears. Smirking as she says, "Keep a better eye out." She then gets clawed by an Ursa, only to reveal it was some clone of her where the real pierced the Ursa's head.

"Honestly, keep it together." A girl in white and icy blue rolls her eyes, but smiles a bit before summoning a glyph that shoots multiple ice spikes that stabs any Grimm that thought she was easy prey.

Team RWBY. One of Beacon Academy's best teams. Though they weren't the only ones who were great at killing Grimm and saving people.

"Yeah! Time to make such Grimm pancakes!" For nearby them, was another team that showed promise. A bubbly orange head using her hammer to squash any Grimm enar her into a sad former shell of itself when her weapon crushed them.

"Grimm pancakes. Sounds, uh, gross." A blonde with a sword and shield says before yelping as a Beowolf lands in front of him/. Though despite that fear, the lad's face goes from scared to courageous as he stabs the Grimm in the neck, killing it.

"Certainly." A non-chantlent boy in green and long hair nods as he shoots at the Boarbatusk that tried to slam into him. Avoiding it, he then throws a punch that kills it in one blow. Though using that much aura did momentarily exhaust him, something an Ursa notices. This was team JN_R, with one of them in trouble.

"Nope!" Thankfully, a freckled young boy came in with a floral designed cane, and attacks the Grimm. Using the cane to stab through the head, making the Grimm dissipate into nothingness.

"Hehe. Getting more and more like Ozpin." A grown man with a cape smiles as he holds his own weapon, a sword. With it, he takes it out from the chest he had placed it in. The chest of a Beowolf that howls before vanishing away.

The two who aided the teenagers were a young farmer boy and the spy of Beacon's headmaster. Both traveling with Team RWBY and JN_R All of them being fine warriors with so much potential. Something even the common people and the few Huntsmen aiding them saw, impressed by their moves and teamwork. Certainly they were inspiring in that regard.

"Alright then, that's that." The man in the cape known as Qrow says as the last of the Grimm is killed. "It seems we finished up here."

"Yep." The girl in red, Ruby, smiles at a job well done. "The people are all safe. Huh Yang."

"Yep." The blonde called Yang, smirked. "Not that they were much of a challenge."

"Which we shouldn't be asking for." The girl in white and blue comments. Known as Weiss to be precise. "Isn't that right Blake?"

"I suppose." The cat faunus Blake shrugs.

"Well I think we did a killer job. Huh Ren!" The orange head says to the one in green, Ren. "What say you fearless leader."

The blonde boy chuckles. "Yeah Nora. I guess we did."

"Indeed." Ren agrees. "We came at the perfect time Jaune. It seems the locals had a tough time here."

"Well with this, the people can now focus on defense." The young farmer tells them. Looking at the village with a knowing look. "Ozpin says they should be fine now, since we dealt with the main horde."

"Right that." Qrow muses a little. "Still, show some pride Oscar." Qrow calls out to the farm boy known as Oscar. "You did a good job out there."

"Heh. Thanks." Oscar accepts the gratitude. On his pants being a unique lamp on him., his eyes glancing at it for a moment. "Still...I wonder why there were so many. Not to mention it felt like they were focused on...us?"

"Probably your imagination." Jaune says. "If anything, it makes sense. After the attack on Haven...well...it's normal for more Grimm to be on the rise."

"Especially considering the White Fang was part of it." Weiss Schnee says, with Blake flinching a bit. "To think they'd go that far. Especially when your mom came." Yang cringed a bit at that. Recalling that night, when the attack happened. Where her mother came to take advantage of the attack the White Fang made, thankfully things didn't end to badly.

"You think Lionheart will have things handled okay?" Ruby then asks her Uncle Qrow who shrugs.

"Probably." He answers her. "Frankly, I felt a weird vibe off of him, but he seemed okay. Heck, he actually seemed more relaxed somehow." The Huntsmen then recalled meeting Lionheart, how he looked all nervous and everything. Yet at the same time relaxed, like some stress was leaving him and even helped them out against the White Fang. What a weirdo.

"Regardless, we now have the Relic of Knowledge." Oscar says as he pats the Relic in question. One in blue and gold, and was considerably one of the keys to potentially stopping Salem, and reuniting humanity. "Ozpin said there were no questions left, but it's best we go to Atlas just in case."

"I already sent Jimmy a message." Qrow tells them. "Granted, it was a pain to do, and might be a while before he gets it. But hey, at least he'll know we're coming."

Despite the good mood going around, one of them looked uncertain. Something Jaune noticed, as he looked at Weiss. "Hey. What's wrong Ice Queen?"

"First, don't call me that!" Weiss says as she points her rapier at Jaune, who just smiles but steps back just in case. "And second, well...I guess I'm a bit concerned."

"Concerned about what?" Yang asks.

"About Salem." That made everyone freeze for a bit.

Salem.

According to Ozpin, a dangerous person that many worked for her. One whose goal definitely didn't benefit anybody but herself, and was part of the destruction of Vale and Beacon.

"What about her?" Ren asks.

"Don't you find it odd, how quite she seems." Weiss then explains. "I may not know her much, but remember what Adam said, just before the fight."

"Damn it!" Adam yells as he faced Blake and kicks Sun away. Staring angrily as Blake had back-up not just from the many faunus who face his now surrendering White Fang members, but also Qrow and Lionheart. The bull faunus being spiteful at this loss. "Where the hell is she! I though Salem said she would help!"

"She...has been quiet." Oscar then speaks up. "Even Ozpin agrees that something is up, but he doesn't know what."

"I thought he knew her well?" Blake questions.

"He does." Oscar says. "But even he can't predict everything she does."

"True that." Qrow agrees. "While it's odd Salem didn't do anything to take advantage of the attack, like Raven, that doesn't mean she isn't up to something. So we still need to be careful."

"Yeah." Ruby says. "Adam got away, and no doubt he'll tell Salem what happened since he worked for her. Maybe even cluen her in on the Lamp."

"I doubt that much, since he doesn't even know of it." Ren points out that Adam didn't even know of the Relic. "But agreed. With his escape, he may inform Salem of what happened at Haven."

"Exactly." Qrow nods. "Which is why we need to get to Atlas to tell Jimmy what happened here. The more he knows, the better."

That was something the group could agree on.

The battle of Haven was a big one.

The White Fang attacking, and despite unknowingly not having Salem's aid, they still did damage. Raven Branwen having also used this to her advantage, and brought with her apparently the Spring Maiden Vernal. Forcing Lionheart to open the Vault, but thankfully Yang followed and somehow managed to get the Lamp and mentioned 'convincing' her mother to leave with Vernal.

The rest dealing with Adam's goons and apparently a Grimm inside Lionheart's office, with Jaune deducing Salem must have planted it there for her own reasons and thankfully killed. Blake and Sun alongside Illia defeating Adam and forcing him to flee while leaving his men behind. All in all, a victory. But even then, they still had to be careful.

"Found you." Especially seeing as there troubles weren't yet over, as despite the week-long travel to Atlas they had, now another enemy has come.

Wha-ahhh!" One that attacked Blake and did some damage to her. Her scream alerting everybody as they got into position, the people running back while Ruby and the others faced who had harmed Blake. Jaune was near Blake, and helping out with his new-found Semblance. One he discovered when Weiss was hurt by Banesaw, Adam's Lieutenant, and used it to try and heal Blake. Weiss and Yang near them just in case.

"Who are you!?" Ruby aims her scythe at the new threat. A big one to, that held a cloak that covered them. Though it was evident this wasn't a human or faunus, unless someone has reported someone with six arms that peeked underneath that cloak.

"Who am I." The figure chuckled darkly. "I...am your doom!" The figure then ripped off his cloak, revealing themselves. A multi-armed, sword-wielding golem with six arms that held blades in them. One with blue eyes and lips that sneered at them. "Will. Destroy." He proclaimed before his eyes wandered to the lamp. "And get what is mine! So says Ganeesh!"

Well. This sucks.

"Guess we're going at this again." Qrow says as everybody gets their weapons ready as they face this new threat. "Just our luck."

Ganeesh lunges at them!

Time to start the Remnant Arc. And yeah, as you saw here some things have changed with Salem going missing alongside her allies.

Adam forced to attack with only his White Fang.

Raven, while never meeting Cinder and making a deal, still struck to take advantage of the situation, with the only difference being Vernal lives.

Lionheart is never outed as a traitor, and while still working for Salem, after weeks of no contact from her, has eased himself a bit and the death of the Seer helped him out and lives. Still can't be trusted, but he won't be involved much.

Next time, a bit of Ganeesh's trip and the battle with him vs our heroes.
