Relic of Knowledge
Out of the four Relics, the Relic of Knowledge deals with naturally, knowledge.
It is capable of summoning a spirit known as Jin, who in turn can answer three questions so long as it does not pertain to the future. The Relic is capable of amassing all history and showing images and illusions of the past to answer the question. So long as one gives the right password in unleashing Jin who can in turn also stop time to answer the question without interruption.
Currently the Relic was in the Haven Academy Vault until a group allied with the ancient warrior Ozma has taken it away. Unknown to all of them though except Ozma, the Relic can attract Grimm and is also being targeted by the inter-dimensional criminal Gaanesh who wants it for his own uses.
To say the look on Ganeesh's face was mad is an understatement.
"He looks pissed." Qrow laughs as he along with RWBY alongside Nora and Ozpin/Oscar were standing on the roof of the train. Jaune and Ren staying inside and using their respective powers to hide the passengers from the Grimm alongside two of those foolish Huntsmen with them.
"Pissed." Yang says as she sees the machine running up from behind them. Slowly catching up while roaring at them in rage. "This dude doesn't look happy at all."
"I'm more amazed that he even found us so fast." Blake said. "I thought we lost him."
"Clearly not good enough." Weiss said as she observes Ganeesh alongside the Grimm with him. "Granted, it must have taken him days to find us considering the time that passed. I'm just amazed he's even functioning."
"Toys like that always come with fancy tricks." Qrow chuckles before getting serious. "Still, this ain't good. We might have taken his weapons...but he's still a toughie."
"Not to mention the Grimm." Ruby said as she looked at the Grimm surrounding and following Ganeesh. How while they mainly chased after tha machine, but some were now looking at them. "They must have sensed his anger, and now they're going to endanger everyone here."
"Not thanks to the fearless leader and Renny." Nora giggles as she looks back at the near end of the train up front. Where at a certain section it was all grey. "Those two are totally helping us out."
"And now we have to pay them back." Oscar says as they hear Ganeesh yell angrily. "Last time Ganeesh underestimated us all. He lost his weapons because of that and was trapped."
"Now he's going to try and kill us all." Ruby said as she saw Ganeesh get closer. The Grimm now no longer concerned with one mad machine and now more interested in the humans on the train. "Everybody," Ruby then clicks her weapon as it turns into her scythe. "Get them."
In that instant the fight began properly.
While Ganeesh was still a bit away from hopping on that train, the Grimm were more than ready to go on ahead of him. They may be attracted to negative emotions like what the machine emitted, but the humans were far more attractive to kill.
"Gra!" Something they roared at as the Manticore and Sphinx then flew right at them all.
"Everybody, go!" Ruby yells as everybody begins firing.
Some Manticores roared as they flew above them, others landed on the train. One Manticore landed near Yang and screeched. With a smirk, Yang threw a punch and the Manticores head was caved in.
"Gra!" Another Manticore came down and got behind Yang. Claw ready to take Yang down.
"I got ya!" Blake then came in and sliced down the Grimm's hand and then stabbed it in the brain. She then began shooting quickly at the Grimm near her and Yang until they all retreated back. The faunus looking at Yang with both smirking at one another.
"Let's do this." Ruby grins as she spins herself around as she cuts away at the Manticores that came at her. Claws, wings, limbs, all flying off. Those that tried escaping were then stabbed by Weiss with thrown icicles that were jammed into their bodies.
"Nice moves.!" Qrow complemented Ruby as he saw Oscar using his cane as a blunt end on a Manticore. Nora hammering one's head until it became a pancake. A Sphinx then came down and preyed at Qrow "Now," Harbinger activated. "It's my turn."
The Sphinx screeched as it then tried snapping at at the veteran Huntsman. He leaped back and then brought Harbinger down. The Sphinx twisted it's head away and stepped back. Then snapped at Qrow who punched it in the face making it growl.
Qrow grinned as he then used the gun-mode to shoot at the Sphinx. Unfortunately the bullets did little more than annoy the Sphinx's skin as from behind it's snake tail moved in and tried to bite Qrow. The unlucky Huntsman moved to avoid a bite that would have ripped his head clean off and then shot more bullets at the Sphinx's face making it howl.
Back behind him Oscar moved in and struck Manticore after Manticore. The merge with Ozpin that has been doing rather interesting things between them both. Not just memories, but somehow the merge allowed Oscar to gain Ozpin's fighting power. Making the farm boy capable of making movements allowing him to dodge a Manticore's attack.
"Oscar, behind you." With a little help from Ozpin allowing the boy to turn and jump away as a Manticore crashed behind him. It roared as it then pounced only for Oscar to slide beneath it where he then jabbed his cane multiple times in it's underbelly. The Manticore then landed weakly from all those hits.
"Nora!" Oscar then called to the loving hammer girl who laughed as she jumped up and crushed the Manticore's head. She then turned and transformed her good hammer to a missile launcher that then sent lots of boom booms at the enemy in the sky.
"Sweet moves!" Yang compliments Nora while she then begins shooting some as well in the sky with her gauntlets. "Let me try." She then runs at Nora and jumps up. Nora, seeing what she was doing, grins as she shifts her weapon back into hammer mode and swings it at Yang. The blonde landing at the flat side of the hammer, and combined with Nora's swing and her momentum, Yang flew in the air and landed on a Manticore.
"Wahoo!" Where Yang began riding it and having it crash into other Manticore's while shooting at them.
"Awesome!" Ruby smiles as she then jumps high in the air and cuts down a Manticore's wing. The Grimm falling down off the train and even taking a few with them. A Manticore came at her with a wide jaw opened up. One of Weiss's Glyphs blocked it from making the attack, with the Schnee then jumping at its side and stabbing her rapier into it, where it then froze up from the inside out.
"What would you do without me?" Weiss smiles a little as she then moves away to lead a few Grimm away while attacking them.
Blake for her part kept taking the Grimm down when suddenly she hears a noise.
"Got ya bastards!" Followed by the sound of metal grinding metal with the train shaking. Turning back, she and everybody else then saw none other than Ganeesh standing tall as he got on the train with a devilish smile on him.
"Oh great." Qrow rolls his eyes while dodging another snake bite. "This loser again."
"Bastard!" Seems Ganeesh heard it though, as his eyes glow red. "I'll kill ya all!"
"Scra!" A Manticore then lands onto him and starts attacking him from nowhere.
"Woah!" Yang says as she finally kills her ride and lands on the train. "Why are the Grimm attacking that tin can?"
"Because of his negative emotions." Blake responds as she leaps away from a Manticore and slices it's jaw off before kicking at it.
"How can a machine produce emotion?" Weiss just says with Ruby then recalling one who could.
'Penny.' If someone like her could be all happy, then it wasn't surprising another could be all mad. Ganeesh then ripping the Manticore apart and growled. While he had no weapons, he still had his fists making him strike at these pathetic weaklings.
"You think you got me that time, huh?" He shouts as he punches where Blake was who moved just in time. A large dent being heard. "Thought you could make a fool of me!?" He then ripped a piece of the train's roof off and threw it at Weiss who blocked it with a Glyph. "Well nobody messes with Ganeesh and gets away with it!"
These weaklings got lucky was all! He just played with them too much. He was stronger, faster, better than them. This world was full of weaklings, and they simply cheated. His eyes then landed on Oscar where he saw his prize. "Give me that Relic!"
Gasping, Oscar instantly summoned a barrier to protect him. Just in time as Ganeesh pounded on it leaving no mark.
"Hey!" Nora then came in ready for some hammer fun. "Get away from him!"
She then swung her hammer hard where it hit Ganeesh's side.
"Pathetic!" Only for Nora to be grabbed on and thrown threw the roof of the train. Ganeesh stood up as he then blocked a gunshot from Ruby. "All of you are pathetic!" He then ripped more of the train up and threw the pieces of the roof at the heroes.
They all avoided it with only the Grimm being hit. Qrow saw this and scowled but wanted to help. But the Sphinx was in his way. He then got an idea and quickly took out his scroll and dialed Jaune's number.
"Hey kid!"
A second later the scroll was answered. "Yeah, what is it?" Some screams could be heard. "Make it quick and also, what's going on out there?"
"Long story short, tin can is here making things worse." Qrow jumped up from another snake attack where he landed on the snake's body and ran forward. The Sphinx tried to shake him off only for Qrow to jump away and cut up a bit of the Sphinx's body making it angry. As he landed and defended himself, Qrow said, "I need some help, and I have an idea how to do it."
"What do you need?"
Back to Ganeesh, he was more or less dominating the fight between the four girls of RWBY. None of their attacks harming the precious metal he was made of with all their attacks being laughable. A grin forming on his face as he swung two fists at Yang who couldn't avoid it and was punched away, nearly falling off the train while the red one cried out her name.
"Knew it" Ganeesh shouted as he swung his foot sideways, kicking the lousy white-haired bitch away. "You're just weaklings!" As if they could ever stand up to someone as powerful as him. Some stupid cat girl attacking him with a tiny gun where Ganeesh just slammed his foot down making the roof of the train vibrate making her lose her footing. Grabbing one of those squawking Grimm, Ganeesh threw it at her, knocking her down.
"Don't even think you won!" Nora then burst out and launched many grenades at Ganeesh who just withstood it all perfectly. He rushed and grabbed Nora who was in midair and began squeezing with the girl screaming at the pain.
"Shut it bitch." He smirks as he squeezes harder. "You pathetic lot are no match to someone as powerful as me." His body was the strongest there was. Made to last for centuries with enough power to wreck a town and kill people. As if he'd lose to a bunch of bitches, a brat, and an old man.
"Hey tin can!" Ganeesh then loosened his grip on the girl a bit as he turned and saw the old man smiling at him while avoiding the Sphinx. "Say cheese."
Suddenly, weapons sprouted up all over the train...and aimed themselves at him.
"Wha-!" Where all the weapons that could fired at him and slammed into his body. Dropping the girl, Nora was grabbed by Yang who took her away while Ganeesh dealt with the bombardment of the attack. While it did no harm to him, the strikes obscured his vision and put him off balance.
"Bastards!" He roared as he then ran at the crappy guns shooting at him and started stomping on them to wreck them. Little did he know however, Qrow ran at him with the Sphinx behind him. With a grin he shot at Ganeesh between the eyes, getting his attention. Qrow saw a fist coming at him yet just before it hit him...he vanished before Ganeesh's shock, turning to a bird at the last moment. "Huh?"
"Gra!" While leaving the Sphinx a new playmate that tackled Ganeesh down. The combined weight of the two making them fall through the trains roof and into a cart. Ruby saw this and smirked.
"Weiss, you know what to do!"
"On it!" The former heiress did as she ran at the toppled roof of the cart while Ruby made sure none of the Grimm got near her. Shooting them down as Weiss got to the wrecked cart and saw Ganeesh trying to get rid of the Sphinx who kept attacking him like a rabid dog.
"Get of me you stupid bird!" Ganeesh commanded only for the Sphinx to just scratch at his face. As Ganeesh cursed Weiss saw her chanced and aimed her rapier at the two. Then, with a combination of her semblance Glyphs appeared before the two. Ganeesh seeing this and saw Weiss.
"No!" He yelled as he tried his best to shove the Grimm away who didn't understand the meaning of those Glyphs like Ganeesh. "Not again!"
"Too late." Weiss stated as she then unleashed her power and from the Glyphs ice began to produce on Grimm and machine. Freezing the Grimm's limbs onto Ganeesh's body making them stuck together and very unbalanced. Ganeesh now unable to stand properly.
"I did it!" Weiss calls out to Ruby who blows the chest of a Manticore off. "This should buy us time."
"Good. Follow me!" Ruby commanded with everybody doing as she said. Only shooting at the remaining Grimm and avoiding the struggle between Grimm and machine until they got onto the next cart. Where Ruby then aimed at the locks linking the carts and shot the one containing Ganeesh off so that he would be separated from the rest of them.
"Rah!" Only for a screech could be heard along with a roar where from the ruined cart that was slowly pulling away, Ganeesh came bursting out as he then ripped the Sphinx's head off. Where he then proceeded to glare at them.
"Huh. What do you know?" Oscar then turned where his eyes widened. "And I think we should get inside...now!" Everyone then began moving to get back inside the train. However, Ganeesh wasn't having any of it.
"I'll kill ya all!" He roared as he jumped off the ruined cart train and leapt at them. His eyes watching as he saw them enter the train, as if it would save them. Though just before all of them enter inside, he then saw the old man do one thing. Wave at him and wink and point up before entering.
Wait what? Ganeesh, while still in mid-air from jumping, then looks up...Where he sees a mountain wall just right there inches from him. "Shi-"
Where he then crashes into it so hard that his own body actually dents as he then falls off the mountain side cursing the heroes. Didn't help either when the remaining Grimm rushed at him as they sensed his negative emotions. It'll be a while for him.
"Welp, he'll be gone for a bit." Qrow says while finally relaxing. "And here I thought things were going to be worse."
"That was awesome!" Yang cheers as she pumps her fists. "That loser didn't even know what hit him."
"Maybe," Weiss says. "But he will be back."
"She's right." Oscar agrees. "It seems that guy is still underestimating us, but that can't last forever...right?"
"Probably. Probably not." Ruby speaks up. "Still, the real problem is that nothing we do has actually hurt him." Thanks to Ganeesh being...well, overconfident and arrogant, they won two times now by outsmarting him. However, that won't last forever and none of the group's moves have actually hurt him. Let aside stop him. "We need a way to actually beat him."
"And maybe we can figure that out when we get to Argus." Qrow says as he starts relaxing himself. "So for now, let's tell Jaune and Ren what happened, and just lay down for a bit."
"I'll say." Suddenly a voice came from behind where everyone turned and saw an old lady in blue with robo-eyes watching them. "And I gotta say, that was some fine moves out there."
Ruby blinked a bit as she watched the old lady. Then said the one thing on everybody's mind. "Who are you?"
With Ganeesh attacking, the Grimm were actually a bit more focused on him than the passengers. Meaning the plan changed a bit along with outcome, withe everybody now going to Argus instead, Ozpin's secret not out just yet, and everyone safe. As for Ganeesh, well, like in the show where he acted all wise against Jack but was really nothing but talk, where while Ganeesh here can fight he's still deep down that same old man who thinks too highly of himself.
Maybe the third time will be the charm for him to win. Or maybe, just another loss. Either way, his arrogance and overconfidence is his greatest enemy alongside the fact that he's never really fought anybody as an equal. Until next Time.
