Last chapter, Ribbonmania has officially begun with how Yotsuba hugged Fuutarou out of nowhere, surprising both him and Itsuki with her actions! I wonder what other Yotsufluff will happen along with the usual Itsuki wholesomeness as well as the continuation of Nino's conflicting feelings. There's also a new mystery that has started to unfold, which is the fact that Fuutarou somehow met all five of the Nakano quintuplets when they were kids, and Yotsuba is the only one who remembers it. What could be the truth behind this? Let's find out together!

"You have a younger sister, Uesugi-san?! What's her name? I want to meet her someday!" Yotsuba exclaimed in excitement. Being the fourth among her sisters, Itsuki was the only one she can see as her younger sibling, but that didn't matter much when they were quintuplets and all of them were born within minutes from the others. It would be something different to meet a younger sister who was really younger than her!
"Er, yes, uhm… her name is Raiha," Fuutarou said, scratching the back of his head. If Itsuki was diligent and Nino was snappy, Yotsuba was full of smiles. He wasn't used to being around someone like her, but it didn't mean he felt uncomfortable with her presence. She looked kind, polite, curious about almost anything and was willing to listen if you told her to. He'll just have to get used to her seemingly unwavering energy, which he can already see happening not too long from now. He could already see them getting along quite well like what happened with him and Itsuki. "She's still studying in middle school at the moment, but she is very responsible and mature for her age. As her big brother, I'm very proud of her."
"Uesugi-kun, I think you forgot mentioning the little fact that Raiha-chan is more mature than you," Itsuki whispered in a tone that only her tutor could hear, and his reaction was instantaneous.
"Shhh! Keep your mouth shut, or I'll tell Raiha not to make you snacks for today." He told her firmly, but Itsuki only giggled in response before sticking her tongue out playfully. Damn it, why did she have to tease him right when they were with one of her sisters?! She couldn't have waited to do this until they leave school?!
"Huh?" Yotsuba asked in confusion, thinking that Fuutarou and her sister were talking about something and she didn't hear it.
Fuutarou quickly turned towards the other girl beside him, putting on a solemn look while secretly sending an annoyed glance at Itsuki. "It's nothing, Yotsuba. I just reminded your sister that we'll be having a little test later on so I could see the extent of what she learned from the past few days. A tutor must always make sure that his student remembers everything through practical means, because cramming all that information inside a head will only lead to imminent failure."
"Well then, let's not waste any more of our time and head to your home, Uesugi-kun! Raiha-chan must be waiting for us already," Itsuki exclaimed, walking ahead of her sister and tutor before turning around to face them with a smile while her hands were joined together behind her in a cute pose.
"You make a good point. In that case, let us be off," Fuutarou nodded his head and folded his arms across his chest in agreement.
"Ehhhh? You two are leaving already?" Yotsuba moaned in defeat, before puffing out her cheeks in a small pout. She wasn't ready to say goodbye yet, not when they only spent literally an hour with each other! This was just unfair…
Yotsuba had spent the remainder of their lunch break with Fuutarou and Itsuki, finishing her food and simply acquainting herself with her sister's tutor. She ended up getting to know him better, and realized that Itsuki's words about him were not just because she was being biased or whatever. Sadly, she only ended up learning that he was truly outstanding when it came to his grades and that he agreed to be Itsuki's tutor because he needed money to help his family.
"You're really amazing, Uesugi-san!" was her response to everything that she learned about him so far, which caught the young man off guard because they were the exact same words that Itsuki told him several times by now. When Fuutarou tried to decline her words, Yotsuba insisted that he really was amazing and even went as far as to bow right before him.
It was at that moment when lunch period had ended, forcing them to go back to their respective classrooms. Their time together wouldn't there just yet, because after the last two periods of classes, both Fuutarou and Itsuki were surprised with Yotsuba waiting for them outside the classroom. From there, Yotsuba walked with the pair until they got out of the main doors and into the grounds, where the three continued their interrupted discussion from the cafeteria.
Surprisingly, Fuutarou didn't care about the fact that some students had their jaws dropping to the floor when they saw him interacting with TWO beautiful girls and for some reason, they looked exactly the same. There were already a few people who had begun whispering about him and his 'actions' recently, but the young man paid them no heed. He'll just let them do what they want to do with his name, because it doesn't really matter in the end.
"I'm sorry, Yotsuba, but we have to get going. It's been a pleasure meeting you and I have to say that I somehow enjoyed our conversations today," he spoke, while reminding himself of the moment when she hugged him out of nowhere in the cafeteria. Man, that caught him off guard and made him blush in embarrassment, but it's likely just a part of her personality. It's nothing different from Itsuki grabbing onto his arm like it was a food plushie every now and then. "I'm sure that we'll be seeing each other again but for now, Itsuki is in need of some tutoring."
With a slight bow towards the girl, Fuutarou continued on walking ahead, joining Itsuki and leaving Yotsuba behind. The ribbon-wearing quint lost her smile for a moment, seeing Fuutarou and her sister as a young blonde boy and a long red-haired girl, respectively. It was then followed by four other girls of the same appearance joining them, causing Yotsuba to shake her head to rid herself of that thought.
No, there's no point in remembering what happened back then, because they were all grown up now and there's no telling how things would change if Itsuki and Nino knew who he was. Maybe Itsuki will just feel surprised and accept it, but Nino was different. She'll be in denial and refuse to believe that Fuutarou was the blonde boy they met back then! Then again, maybe she wouldn't do something like that. Anyway, it was too risky and it would be better if she kept this to herself for now. But what about Yotsuba herself? Did she think that things changed when it came to her? Yotsuba saw him as the same boy whom she admired back then and became her motivation to become better, but where did that desire lead to? She wasn't able to keep the promise she made for herself, so did she even have any right to be selfish?
Yotsuba had a conflicted look on her face for a few moments, before finally making up her mind.
"Wait! Uesugi-saaaaan! I need to ask you something!" she called out, flailing her arms wildly so she could get their attention quickly. Fortunately for her, the pair of student of tutor heard her and quickly turned around with curious looks on their faces.
"What is it, Yotsuba?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Can… Can you be my tutor too?!" Yotsuba spoke, looking hesitant for a bit before raising her fists to her chest in determination.
Both Fuutarou and Itsuki were surprised with this and ended up looking at each other as if they were asking one another the same question. They didn't expect Yotsuba to ask something like that, because all that she's been doing so far was talk about various things. How the hell did she get a sudden interest in being tutored like her sister? It almost felt like a joke that she made to bring out a laugh from the young man, if it weren't for Itsuki being in deep thought.
After a few moments of registering her sister's words inside her mind, a delighted expression appeared on Itsuki's face. "I think that's a great idea, Yotsuba! Uesugi-kun, why don't we let her join us? I believe you can help my sister become better in her studies just like what you're doing for me!" she smiled, which only caused her tutor to feel more confused.
"Wait, what? Why would Yotsuba need me to help her? Does she even need a tutor?" he asked, feeling that he was missing some important information regarding this.
"I have never mentioned this before, Uesugi-kun, but it's not just me who is struggling with her studies. All of us sisters are facing the same dilemma when it comes to our grades. Sadly, I am the only one among us who actively tries to change that. Nino doesn't care much because she depends on our father, Ichika seems focused on something else entirely, and Miku just wants to be left alone most of the time even though she consistently gets the highest grades out of us all. I have tried getting them to study harder like I do, but things don't always go the way you want to," Itsuki explained with a sad smile.
"Ehehe, it's true…" Yotsuba continued, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment. "None of us really put in that much effort in studying other than Itsuki. I always try to join Itsuki in studying when she asks me to, but I still get the lowest grades out of all of us! I guess you could say I'm just really bad at studying, ehehe…"
"There is no need to worry, Yotsuba. I know Uesugi-kun will be able to help you! If he can teach someone like me in a way that I can understand the lessons, then he can do the same for you because we're quintuplets!" Itsuki cheered on for her sister, before turning her attention to Fuutarou. "What do you say, Uesugi-kun? Let's let her join us! I'm sure you can do the same thing for Yotsuba as you did for me!"
It only took Fuutarou a few moments to think about his answer, because this scenario was exactly the same as when Itsuki and him first met, and she asked him to be his tutor. He cleared his throat loudly in order to get both of their attention, before beginning to speak. "I don't mind adding another student under my wing, but that's not my decision to make," he said, and before the sisters could react to his words, he turned towards the ribbon-wearing girl with a serious expression. "Yotsuba, you should consent your other sisters about this decision first before anything else. I don't think it would be good for us if you do the same thing as Itsuki did and make the rest of your sisters worry about your whereabouts."
"Oh…" Itsuki blinked, remembering her mistake from when she met Fuutarou for the first time. Man, that could have been prevented if she didn't turn on silent mode for her phone. "I-I suppose we can send a message to my sisters about –"
"Itsuki, it's okay. Uesugi-san is right! I don't really think texting our sisters would be a good idea. I should tell Ichika, Nino, and Miku about this because I don't really want them to worry about me, hehe…" Yotsuba chuckled in embarrassment, before smiling at the young man and then bowing her head happily. "I can't wait to start learning under you, Uesugi-sensei!"
"You don't need to call me that…" Fuutarou muttered, turning his gaze to the side. Yep, he still had to get used to the girl's energetic self, especially now when he was going to be around Yotsuba as much as Itsuki. This is a good thing, right? Plus, he didn't dislike having her around and felt like he could easily get along with her.
"I'll see you on Monday then, Uesugi-sensei! See you later, Itsuki!" With a huge smile on her face, Yotsuba ran past the two people in front of her, eager to tell the rest of her sisters about this.
Fuutarou was left staring at the girl as she continued to run, donning a thoughtful look on his face. He couldn't help but think about how his situation will change now that Yotsuba will be with him and Itsuki from now on. His feelings for Itsuki won't change, but it's a completely different thing if he starts to see Yotsuba in the same way. Just thinking about it was already filling him with intrigue, even thought it would only complicate his situation even more from a realistic standpoint.
Oh well, it was already complicated the moment he met Nino.
"…I forgot to ask you this earlier, but is your sister like that all the time?" he asked, turning towards Itsuki with a curious look. In return, the girl seemed confused with what he wanted to say. "Not that I'm complaining or anything, I'm just asking because if she is, I suppose I'll need to get used to her presence from now on."
Itsuki nodded, understanding what he wanted to know as the two continued on their way. "Yes, that is just how Yotsuba is. She's always full of energy and is the best when it comes to physical activities, but the same can't be said for her academics. Out of all of us, she normally ranks as the lowest when it comes to our grades. However, I am sure you'll be able to teach her, Uesugi-kun! Like what I said to her, she can learn from you like I did!"
"That's not really what I'm worried about…" Fuutarou muttered to himself, having no problem with tutoring one of Itsuki's along with her. He'll gladly take the challenge if it means earning more money for his family. At this point, he was more concerned with how he'll be able to deal with three soulmates at the same time from now on.
Oh yeah, before he could forget, damn that old man.
Hohoho, it looks like Yotsuba wants to get tutored just like Itsuki now! Fuutarou seems to have no problem being her tutor, but it looks like she'll have to tell her other sisters about it first. After all, they would be worried for her like when Itsuki met Fuutarou for the first time. Will they let Yotsuba do what she wants? Not only that, we gain some more insight about the memory of Fuutarou meeting the quintuplets but it's pretty vague. Guess we'll wait for the next chapter then!
Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
