Last chapter , we found out that the study group of Fuutarou, Itsuki, and Yotsuba are planning to take their study sessions in the Nakano home. Before that, though, the two will have to tell their sisters about it and hope they'll allow it. Aw, who are we kidding? Of course they'll let them do their study sessions in the apartment, especially Nino! Oh, and the other thing that happened last chapter is Itsuki having some suspicions about Yotsuba liking Fuutarou... hmm, what's gonna happen? Let's find out!

The three teenagers soon reached their destination, stopping right before wooden door to Fuutarou's home. While Itsuki was already used to this scene because she comes here everyday for their tutoring sessions, Yotsuba had a look of uneasiness on her face, showing that this was the first time she had been in a place like this.

Despite that, she was also taking in her surroundings into her mind, so that she would know what Fuutarou's neighborhood was like in case she comes here again. There's also the scenario in which their other sisters won't let them hold their tutoring sessions in their apartment which will leave them no choice but to remain here, though it's unlikely for such a thing to happen none of her sisters felt any kind of hostility towards Fuutarou, not even Nino.

After knocking, Fuutarou stood back and waited for a few moments, before Raiha opened the door with a big smile on her face. "Welcome back, Onii-chan! Good afternoon, Itsuki-san!" she said happily, giving a hug to each of them which the two returned with no hesitation.

"It's always nice see you, Raiha-chan!" Itsuki smiled happily, hugging the younger Uesugi as if she was also her sister.

Raiha was already used to her big brother and his student arriving at this time of the day despite it being only a few days since Itsuki first came here. Since that day, the two have gotten close and always end up engaging in various conversations with one another whenever Fuutarou gives Itsuki a short break during their sessions. The young girl felt like she had an older sister and just when she about to pull away from the hug with the red-haired Nakano, it was the moment when she noticed the presence of another girl who was with her brother and Itsuki.

"Oh, good afternoon to you as well…" Raiha blinked for a few seconds, before realizing that the smiling girl with a ribbon in front of her was… Itsuki? Wait, wasn't she hugging her just now? Something must be going on here. "…Itsuki-san?"

"Shishishi, Itsuki is actually my sister… she's the one you're hugging right now," Yotsuba chuckled in amusement at the young girl's confusion.

Raiha tilted her head innocently as Itsuki pulled away from the hug and stood beside Yotsuba, while also giggling to herself. "Raiha-chan, this is my sister, Yotsuba. The reason we look like each other is because we are quintuplets. I'm sorry for the confusion."

"Quin…tuplets? You mean there are five of you who look exactly the same as each other?!" Raiha asked incredulously, her eyes widening in shock.

Itsuki nodded with a smile on her face. "That's right. I'm the youngest among us, while Yotsuba here is the fourth. Why don't I show you a picture of us later on, Raiha-chan? That way, you'll be able to know who we are when we meet again!"

"Wow…" the young girl muttered, looking at the two sisters alternately a few times. She quickly tried to imagine three more girls who looked like them, but was interrupted in her train of thought by Yotsuba, who began to speak once again.

"Nice to finally meet you, Raiha-chan! Uesugi-san told me lots of things about you before going here!" Yotsuba approached the young girl on her knees and smiled brightly, before remembering an important that she was supposed to tell her. "Oh right, from now on, Uesugi-san will also be tutoring me like Itsuki! Please take care of me while I'm here!"

Yotsuba bowed her head before Raiha, who still looked confused while Itsuki only laughed nervously. Her sister could be too much of a pure soul sometimes. However, this would quickly be put to an end when Fuutarou's voice rang out and quickly got their attention.

"Are you two done already?" Fuutarou called out with an unamused expression, crossing his arms as he stood by the door. "You'll have time to talk to my sister later on when I give you a short break during our session but before that, do you really want to waste valuable time when we should be studying right now?"

While Itsuki only bowed her head and walked towards him without another word, Yotsuba was a lot more vocal, standing straight out of panic before bowing as well.

"Er, yes! I'm sorry, Uesugi-san! I just wanted to introduce myself to Raiha-chan before we do anything else!" she cried out in apology.

"It's fine. Let's just get going, alright?" he replied, still looking unamused as he gestured for Yotsuba to follow him and Itsuki. Raiha quickly passed by all of them as she went inside their home, with the three trailing behind. Just as Fuutarou was about to drop off his bag on the floor, they came across a new presence sitting by the table.

"Well, well, looks like Raiha wasn't kidding when she said that her Onii-chan was going to invite a beautiful lady today! And it looks like he didn't just bring one, but two girls with him!" said the tall, bulky nan with distinctive golden, spiky hair and wore a pair of sunglasses on his head.

While both Nakano sisters blushed at being called "beautiful", Fuutarou remained unfazed at the presence of this man for a few moments, before letting out a deep sigh. Great, the tutoring session for today was ruined and he knew it. Maybe he could just let the girls take this as a free day and let them rest, because he knew for sure that they won't be able to study properly with this man around.

Right now, Fuutarou was internally wishing that the other quintuplets would consider letting them hold their sessions in their home… they were his soulmates, right? Surely, they would agree…?

Yeah, he could only hope since he hasn't even met Ichika and Miku yet.

"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be at work?" Fuutarou said in a neutral tone, placing his bag down and started bringing out the materials needed for their tutoring/study session, whatever they get to do today. Oh well, it's best to just get this over with despite being distracted by this man's presence...

His father's presence, that is.

"Hey, not even gonna greet me? I taught you better than that," the man narrowed his eyes at Fuutarou, before his serious face broke into a playful grin. "Eh, we didn't do much at work today, so a lot of us were sent home early. That includes me."

The young man turned to his sister, who was slicing vegetables for a dish she was planning to make, most likely for dinner later on. "Raiha, why didn't you tell me about this before I got here?" he asked.

He loved his sister and she was really mature for her age, but sometimes Raiha can be too innocent for her own good. She was well aware of her big brother not liking anything that can distract him from his studies, which included their own father and his unnecessary jokes.

Raiha turned to look at her brother, tilting her head in an innocent manner that it would be impossible for Fuutarou to hold this against her. Not like he would ever think of doing something like that, of course.

"I didn't think it would be a problem?" she said.

"Figures," Fuutarou sighed again. Oh well, maybe this was something that was bound to happen no matter what. He'll just have to endure any disruption that will definitely happen later on.

"Um, not to be rude…" Itsuki spoke for herself and Yotsuba, showing themselves to the other man in the room. "You seem to be aware of who we are and somehow expected our arrival, but the same cannot be said for my sister and I regarding you…"

"Oh, right! Where are my manners?" The man chuckled, before he waved his arm in a lazy manner. "The name's Isanari! I'm Fuutarou's father."

"F-Father…?!" Itsuki sputtered in shock, before she and Yotsuba quickly bowed their heads in respect. They were literally standing before their tutor's father and they didn't know, especially Itsuki herself. She only remembered it just now. Back when she and Fuutarou met for the first time, he informed her that the only people living with him in this house were his sister and their father. "I apologize for not noticing it sooner!" she exclaimed.

"Hey, hey, it isn't anyone's fault. You couldn't have known that I would be here since I'm usually still at work at this time of the day!" Isanari waved off Itsuki's words before flashing a playful smirk. "Alright, now that I'm done introducing myself, what about you two? If you weren't wearing different outfits and accessories on your hair, I would've thought you two were the same person!"

"Oh, that's because we're quintuplets, sir! There are five of us who look exactly like each other!" Yotsuba spoke up, straightening her posture as if she was answering her superior in the military.

"Ah, I don't want any of that 'sir' business here. Just call me 'Isanari' or even 'Dad' if you want," Isanari winked, making both girls blush furiously at the implications of calling him as such. He then turned towards his son, who only shook his head and focused on arranging the materials that they will need for studying. "You sure know how to pick them, Fuutarou."

"Our relationship is not like that, Pops. Now shut up," Fuutarou calmly denied whatever his father was trying to imply, and he didn't even want to know what it was about.

Isanari shrugged. "Aw, lighten up, kid. I'm just acting like any other father out there when his son brings over a girl to his house."

"Really? I had no idea a normal father would make attempts to tease and embarrass a pair of guests in their home. I should try and do that in the future," the young man replied in a sarcastic manner.

"Smartass," Isanari muttered under his breath so that the two girls wouldn't hear him, before turning his attention back to them. "Anyway, can I know the names of the two lovely ladies standing in front of me? Let's just make this quick since I'm sure Fuutarou's getting pissed that I'm stealing his spotlight…"

Fuutarou chose to remain quiet after that, as the two girls took deep breaths before speaking one at a time.

"My name is Itsuki. Nakano Itsuki. It's a pleasure to meet you, Uesugi-san," the girl with star-shaped clips said with her usual polite tone.

"I'm Nakano Yotsuba! It's nice to meet you, Uesugi-san's Papa!" the ribbon-wearing quint exclaimed with a smile, giving the older man a salute.

Isanari widened his eyes the moment their surnames, before putting on a more serious look as he leaned forward to get a closer look at the girls. "Nakano? You're Maruo's daughters?" he asked through narrowed eyes.

Both Yotsuba and Itsuki looked taken aback at this revelation, while Fuutarou threw a hidden glance at his father out of interest. Isanari had a possible connection to the Nakano quintuplets, who were also his soulmates? Hmm, this was truly interesting, because it also meant that his family was somehow connected to them! It could also be the reason why the old man chose the Nakano quintuplets to be his soulmates…

*Insert obligatory 'Damn that old man.' statement here*

"Y-You know our father…?" Itsuki asked, half-shocked and half-amazed with this new revelation. If Fuutarou's father somehow knew theirs, then their families were literally connected even before she met the young man who was her tutor!

"Know him? Hell, we were best buds back in high school!" Isanari's serious look then shifted into a big grin while remembering his days as a teen. A rebellious teen, that is. "We used to go out for drinks after every exam and I'd end up carrying him back home since that guy's alcohol tolerance is so damn low and he's usually tired after answering many tests!"

The two sisters widened their eyes upon hearing those words from Isanari's mouth, and even Fuutarou was starting to get interested in this. Perhaps this was even good for him, because there is no doubt that he'll meet the quintuplets' father in the future. This should be a good way for him to have an initial knowledge of their father, Maruo Nakano…

Yotsuba was the first to snap out of her shock but from her expression afterwards, it was clear that she learned something new. "Wow… I never knew Papa was like that! He never drinks any kind of alcohol even when he doesn't have any work to do…"

Isanari slapped his leg as he laughed almost uncontrollably. "Hahaha, that's just because he can't let anyone else while he's feeling tipsy! I wish I had a camera back then, because I could have taken a picture of your father's face every time he's drunk!"

Itsuki raised her hand to get the older man's attention, before she began to speak. "Uhm… I don't mean to doubt your words, Uesugi-san, but as far as my memory goes… Father never mentioned anything about you. In fact, the only things he told us about his days in high school was that he focused on his studies and it was also the place where he met our mother."

The blonde man waved off Itsuki's words like they were nothing. "Bah, that guy loves to treat our relationship as some kind of rivalry between us, but he has a soft side too! I'm sure if I give him a call right now for a little reunion over drinks, he'd ignore me at first before showing up anyway. I don't know if he ever told you this, but Maruo was too much of a nerd that he can't act normal while being around your mother! Oh yeah, come to think of it, the two of you look so much like her that I thought I was seeing a ghost when you came in. She gave birth to quintuplets, eh? Heh, and that bastard never even thought of telling me about this..."

Now this was another thing that Itsuki and Yotsuba didn't see coming, while Fuutarou couldn't stop his eyes from widening at this newfound knowledge. His dad knew both the quintuplets' father and mother? Perhaps their families were more connected than what he initially thought…

"Y-You know M-Mother as well…?!" Itsuki stuttered, her jaw slowly dropping out of utter disbelief.

Isanari nodded with a grin. "Sure do! Rena was my senpai back then and Maruo had a huge crush on her, no matter how hard he tried to cover it up by burying himself in his books! It reached the point where that guy literally asked me for advice on what he should do because he was afraid that his grades might get affected if his little crush on senpai keeps on going."

"Wow… what did you do then, Uesugi-san's Papa?" Yotsuba asked, thoroughly engaged in this little storytelling that she already sat with her legs crossed on the other side of the table, opposite to where Isanari was.

"I gave him the slap on the back that he needed," Isanari folded his arms while remembering that particular moment like it happened yesterday. "Maruo was such a newbie when it came to love while I had some knowledge on the topic since I was already dating someone at the time, so I told him to just walk up to her and say it straight to her face that he wants to ask her out. I thought it would be a disaster when he did go for it, but it worked out well and the rest is history!"

Itsuki could only stare at Isanari after his words, as she couldn't find it in herself to doubt him anymore. How could she? The man didn't look like he was making this up and he remembered their parents as though they were old friends. Their father may have never mentioned Fuutarou's dad to them, but that may just be the product of his usual demeanor.

"I never would've thought Father was like that in the past…" she breathed out, fascinated at learning such a thing about her own parent, and it came from the words of another person!

Her father was just like her, then… completely focused in his studies until he met the love of his life in their mother.

An image of Fuutarou appeared in Itsuki's mind, causing her to blush furiously and shake her head to get rid of it. This wasn't the right time for things like that because she was standing in front of Fuutarou's father! There's no telling how he would react to her having a crush on his son!

"Me neither! Please tell us more about Papa and Mama when they were in high school! We want to know more about what he's like back then!" Yotsuba said excitedly, eager to learn more about her own parents from Isanari's point of view.

Itsuki looked at her sister with a look of concern, now having doubts about whether they should be doing this or not. Since Fuutarou's dad was no doubt recounting real events that happened in the past, the long-haired Nakano quint felt like this was something disrespectful to both their parents.

"Yotsuba, don't you think this is an invasion of Father's privacy? I don't think we should be asking Uesugi-kun's father about this kind of thing…"

"Come on Itsuki, aren't you curious? Even though Papa is our Papa, we don't know much about him because he's always focused on work! Plus, it's not like we're going to his room and taking a look at his private things, right? We're asking Uesugi-san's Papa what he remembers about our Papa!" Yotsuba explained calmly, while also retaining her cheerful expression as she turned towards her sister.

"That…" Itsuki blinked a few times, being left dumbfounded from Yotsuba explanation. While Yotsuba considered herself to be the dumbest of all of them, she did have her moments where she could explain difficult situations with sense and help out in reaching an answer, like now. "I suppose you do make a good point…"

"See? There's nothing wrong it, so let's listen to more stories!" Yotsuba chuckled, before she gave Itsuki a thumbs-up then turning back towards an amused Isanari. "Please tell us more, Uesugi-san's Papa!"

However, before Isanari could say anything, Fuutarou cut through the conversation by placing a small stack of books and papers on the table, causing everyone's attention to be directed towards him.

"As much as I would like to join the two of you in listening to my old man's life story as well as yours, I'm afraid we have already wasted enough time, Itsuki, Yotsuba," the young man spoke in his neutral tone, before sending serious looks at his two students. "Let's focus on what we came here for. You can speak with Pops later on when we have a short break if you wish."

Yotsuba paled, while Itsuki quickly took her seat in panic, pulling out the materials she needed for their tutoring session. "Oh no, it slipped our minds completely! W-We're sorry, Uesugi-kun! We won't do it again!" she quickly spoke, embarrassed at the fact that she temporarily forgot about studying in favor of learning more about their parents.

"Save the apologies and focus on your studies if you want to make it up to me. We can listen to my old man's storytelling later," he waved off Itsuki's apology before turning to his father. "Pops, I'm gonna have to ask you to sit somewhere else and not here, because your presence will only distract us from having a meaningful study session."

Isanari raised his arms in defeat as he slowly rose to his feet. "Alright, alright, I get the picture. You be careful in how you treat these girls, Fuutarou, even if you're their tutor. I can already tell that they're like their mother when it comes to showing love," he teased with a playful smile.

Yotsuba and Itsuki blushed furiously in their places upon hearing the man's words about 'showing love' and what he meant by it, while Fuutaro's cheeks also reddened for a bit before he hid it behind an annoyed expression. Teasing his soulmates about romance… he should've seen this coming, honestly. It's his goddamn father, of course they would get teased!

If only Raiha texted about their dad being home, he would've cancelled their tutoring session for the day and let his two students head home early! That would have spared them from his old man's unnecessary quips!

"Whatever you say, now can you please leave?" he groaned and rolled his eyes in response to his father's teasing.

"Just one more thing, kiddo," Isanari waved his finger smugly as if to say no, before winking at the two blushing sisters. "If you're gonna go after my son, please do! This kid needs to smile a lot more and having a girl in his life might do the trick! Don't worry about your dad if he finds out, I'll talk to him!"

With that, he walked off while laughing, leaving the three of them in their places. Raiha was already gone the moment Itsuki and Yotsuba began introducing themselves, so they were the only ones there with nobody else around. A tick mark appeared on Fuutarou's head as he suddenly gained the urge to smack his father on the back of his neck for what he just did.

Isanari had no idea about the impact of his words to his soulmates…

"Well done, Pops… you've single-handedly caused them to lose focus in what we're supposed to do…" he thought to himself, glancing back at the two girls who were as red as tomatoes at this point and didn't seem like they were in the proper mood for studying.

Okay, he's definitely giving Isanari a smack on the head before this day is done.

Meeting the parent already? Welp, it's gonna be a difficult study session for those three with Isanari around... anyway, canon is even more out of the window now, if you don't think it already is. If you recall, I made Itsuki confess her feelings before everyone else, compared to Nino from canon material. From this chapter, you'll see that Isanari and Maruo have a complex friendship, which you'll learn about in the coming chapters. It looks like it was also Isanari who pushed Maruo to pursue a relationship with Rena, which is interesting, hehe... I know Maruo having a big crush on Rena is pretty OOC for him, but bear with it for now, guys. You'll find out about everything soon.

Bio-dad? Who's that guy? I don't know who he is.

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
